For Atrophic Urethritis "I had vaginal dryness, painful intercourse, burning, urinary tract infections. My Dr. put me on estradiol cream twice a week, 1 mg. It's been almost 1 month, the burning has stopped, night sweats have improved a lot, but the urethra sometimes bothers me, but not too bad. Overall, it's working okay. My insurance would not pay for Premarin cream but would pay for estradiol cream, so thank goodness for that."

Estradiol topical "I had intercourse for the first time with my partner after inserting the Estring. I was well lubricated but was a little irritated during and afterwards. It even burned a little when I urinated afterwards. Hopefully, this will be a one-time experience. I'm contemplating removing the Estring the next time."

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "In the beginning, I had repeated UTIs. One doctor suggested it might be menopause symptoms. I went to the gynecologist, and she gave me Imvexxy first. It did not help. I still had the terrible burning, so she switched me to the Yuvafem. I've been taking it for a couple of months now. I don't really like the applicator, it hurts. If you use lubricant, it will go in easier. Sometimes I have no symptoms at all. But for whatever reason, they will come back, not as bad, but it's there. I have to use Replens moisturizer on those days. I never tried the other, my insurance will only pay for the Yuvafem even though I was written a script for the name brand and not Yuvafem. I have not had any joint pain or discharge. If the insert is not inserted all the way up to the plunger that you push in, the pill will come out. I only had the pill fall out once. I knew I had not put it all the way in. So far, that is the only one I have found."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "Yuvefem was prescribed for me after I had used Premarin cream for several years. The Yuvefem applicator was horrible - hard plastic, with sharp ends. Ouch! I managed to use it twice, but 16 hours after inserting the second tablet, I felt a burning/numb sensation 'down there'. Found that the tablet had fallen out, partially dissolved. It was melting against very tender skin. What an awful generic product! Wrote to Amneal to complain, and will contact the FDA. Now have a prescription for Vagifem, the real thing, but will have to pay a big co-pay. :("

For Atrophic Vaginitis "I had great results with brand name Estrace and Vagifem, but the generic forms of both make all my symptoms worse. The burning and aching and feelings of urinary urgency are worse than the condition that caused the symptoms in the first place."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "I used Yuvafem for several months, but since my insurance changed and I’m now on Medicare, this affected my prescription, which was switched to estradiol tablets. Both tablets worked fine, and I experienced no more dryness, burning, or pain, but I like the estradiol tablets a little better because I was having some cramping in my calves with Yuvafem but not so much with estradiol. The other benefit to using this tablet is my skin looks more youthful, with more color and vibrance and fewer wrinkles. My hairdresser even noticed, but the downside is I’m experiencing more hair loss. I was having hair loss before I started vaginal estrogen therapy, but it has increased while I’ve been on these tablets. Either I’m going to have to cut back or stop altogether, which I hate because it has helped with everything else, but I don’t want to go bald either."

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "At first, the burning was intense (from using the pills), it later decreased. After day 7, I had the worst case of bacterial vaginosis. I have stopped using the 10 mcg inserts."

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "After one dose of Yuvafem, I will not use this awful stuff! I had discharge and burning and feeling like I have to pee. I can't believe how horrible this stuff is. I will be reporting it to the FDA."

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "After the 10 days of the first 14-day regimen of Yuvafem, I experienced soreness, burning, itching, and increased need to urinate, plus greenish discharge. I’m discontinuing immediately. I had the same symptoms when the pharmacy used to substitute generic birth control pills (Chryselle) for name brand pills, so there are obviously problems with the estrogen and/or fillers for both generic products."
