Estradiol topical for Atrophic Urethritis "I have been using Estrace for 5 years - a complete hysterectomy at age 42 - can't live without it - no more nightmares, nerves are calm normally according to my husband - HA! And I don't have hot flashes. I am fortunate that my insurance has always covered it, but in January 2018, a generic came out and my insurance would only pay for the generic. I was fine with that - but two months later I realized the generic was not working. All my symptoms had returned full-blown! My husband told me to go to the pharmacy and pay whatever the name brand Estrace costs! It would have been $325! I told the pharmacist my symptoms on the generic and he called my insurance company - told them I had had a reaction to the generic - they then covered the name brand - within 24 hours I felt like a new person and better each day. I want to say here - the generic did not work for me. Keep working it, women - there IS a way to have a GREAT AND HAPPY LIFE after menopause!"

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "I’ve only been on Estrace for a week, my symptoms? Hot flashes day and night, mood swings, I’d go up to the bedrooms and feel my heart palpitating, low energy, have a hard time getting up in the morning, no interest in anything. This cream is heaven-sent, I’m looking forward to the next couple of weeks, have faith that it can only get better. I feel like a human being. I was honestly feeling like I was losing who I am. I’ll keep you guys posted..."

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "I just started my 3rd month of using the 10 mcg insert of Imvexxy. The dryness has been completely reversed, which in turn stopped my chronic BV. Yay!! However, I've been feeling nauseous and crampy with a mild headache for the past 6 weeks. I also seem to be experiencing more hot flashes and night sweats. I don't want to believe it's the Imvexxy causing this and the low back pain, but since nothing else has changed, and I take no other medications, I can only assume it is the Imvexxy. I am almost 60 yrs old and have been in menopause for 8 yrs or so. I keep thinking these symptoms will go away, but they actually may be worsening. I'll likely finish using the rest of this prescription but not renew it."

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "Started two weeks ago for leak control. Have been on Vivelle dot for 10 years, no weight gain. On Estring, plus patch and gained 5 pounds. Went off patch one week ago... still very bloated... but hot flashes. Back on smaller doses patch with Estring but now went off after two weeks due to weight gain. Note: My weight has always been perfect, I was always quite slender, so a 5-pound fluctuation is significant in my case. No change to diet or exercise. I will report again in two weeks of being off Estring."

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "Agree with others that the Yuvafem packaging is terrible. Have to use scissors and have cut my fingers on the packaging. The applicator is not very comfortable but works fine. I’ve never had a problem with tablets falling out or not dissolving completely. Biggest complaint is the medication does very little to help with painful dryness and causes me horrible hot flashes and flu-like aching, as well as terrible joint pain."

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "Started this just 3 days ago and already starting to feel better. I went from having 5 hot flashes a day and waking up at night to sleeping without interruption and only 1 hot flash today. I’m sure it will get better! So very happy I spoke to my doctor about this. P.S. I also have more energy, not sure if it’s the medication, but I’ll take it!"

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "I started taking 10 mcg Imvexxy one month ago. I used it daily for two weeks, then went to twice per week. I found it easy to use. All was fine for two weeks, except for the bad discharge, and then at week four, I started having extreme fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite, chills, and hot flashes, and then extremely painful pressure in my pelvic area. Since this is the only change I have made, I am convinced it’s Imvexxy."

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "I didn't realize how much this was a great product until I stopped using it. The only reason I stopped it is because it is no longer covered by my insurance. I didn't want something that was traditional HRT. I just wanted something for atrophy, my doctor suggested Estring. Wonderfully, Estring helped me with my hot flashes, insomnia, irritability, emotional roller coaster, and atrophy. I just wish it didn't cost so much."

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "The first time I used it, within days the vaginal dryness was gone. But I gained 6 lbs, got belly bloat, and developed an odor. It was extremely difficult to remove! The second time using it, I had some pressure and odor (no infection), and then after a total of 6 months, I finally realized that my hot flashes came back due to the ring. I had them ever since I began using this... I am done! Coconut oil for me!"

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "After one-time use, the next day I noticed an itchy rash mostly under my armpits and some on my torso. I'm afraid to use it again. Also, in the morning, I had bad hot flashes. The last time was over a year ago."

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "Just took it out due to odd back pain. Noticed when I first put it in, it brought back the hot flashes, and then when it wore off after 3 months, the hot flashes showed back up with the declining estrogen levels. Some weight gain. Cost is absurd. With a coupon, it was over $400. I don’t even want to think about a cost per use as in how many more times did I have sex with my husband while it was in. Didn’t help at all with my sex drive. Removing it took multiple attempts. Going to take a break from it now. Didn’t notice a big difference. Still needed artificial lubrication with sex."

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "I’ve been using Imvexxy for about 1 month. I’ve noticed hot flashes and night sweats have increased. I’m having leg heaviness and tiredness, as well as lower back pain. Insomnia has also gotten worse. I get a burning sensation and discharge after usage. I take 10 mcg every two days. I will reduce my usage to once a week and see if the symptoms resolve. I will keep you posted."

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "I have been using Yuvafem for one month. As soon as I used the product that night, I woke up with hot flashes. I am 74 years old. I don't think hot flashes is a good reaction to this product. Going to try to get original Vagifem back."

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "I stopped using Estring after the first 3-month ring. I gained 10 lbs during those 3 months. My hot flashes returned, and I still had pain during intercourse. I regret ever trying it. I wish I had my $150.00 back!"

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "So far, so good! I'm 63 and started using Estring as an alternative to either the dryness and severe vaginal irritation, or the headaches and hot flashes I was getting from using Estrace vaginal cream. I felt that the cream always was either overdoing it or underdoing it. With Estring, so far, I feel fantastic! No problem inserting, and I do not feel it. No headache for me, plenty of lubrication, and feeling good!"

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "Imvexxy has been effective in treating atrophic vaginitis. However, after having been on it for some time, I have gained nearly 10 pounds, experienced hair thinning, a 'full' abdomen, and thigh cramping, as well as my hot flashes have returned. Interestingly, the trials that were conducted for this medication only covered women for 12 weeks, so could side effects increase with long-term use? My insurance doesn't cover this medication, and I will be stopping it once I complete this month."

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "I too was on Vagifem for about 1 1/2 years when my insurance switched me to Yuvafem. After 2 months, I was getting a lot of hot flashes, and the vaginal dryness started to come back. I did appeal to my insurance company, and they just approved for me to get the Vagifem back instead. I have a feeling my copay will go from $30 to $50, but it's worth it to get results. I had no issues with insertion or anything like that, but do believe either the pill dissolved too quickly or too slowly, and that is why I was having my symptoms return."

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "I just removed the ring after 3 weeks because after two weeks I started having hot flashes, low back pain, and vaginal discharge. It has been 3 days now, and the symptoms are abating. I did not like the bloat I was feeling and will go back to the Estrace cream, which is not as convenient but with which I did not have side effects."

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Urethritis "I gave up on Estring after 90 days. It didn't help with urethra pain, hot flashes returned while using it, and now I am afraid I won't be able to remove it. The cheerful instructional video on how to remove it by Pfizer is not reassuring. I also had to add a Dotti patch in addition to the Estring to combat hot flashes. It was an expensive and unpleasant trial for me."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "If men had to use this to have pain-free sex, there would be no problem with overpopulation. The applicator is expected to be used for a month, but is impossible to clean thoroughly. Why not a vaginal suppository like with the treatment drugs for yeast infections? Every time I use this, I have hot flashes through the night. Plus the added pleasure of having it seep out throughout the next day. I'm sorry, but this sucks!!"

Estradiol topical for Atrophic Vaginitis "I've been using Vagifem for a few months now & definitely took several weeks for my symptoms to calm down. Before using this, my entire vaginal area had become dry, hypersensitive & sore, and sex was so painful. Vagifem has restored lubrication & I feel like me again, so happy with results. Also, I have had no hot flashes since I started taking it & these were happening multiple times a night. I also have not had a UTI since & have been having them every couple of months most of my adult life."
