"I've used Synjardy for 8 months. Thankfully, my insurance covers it, and with the savers coupon, I have zero out-of-pocket expense, which is awesome. So you might be wondering, does Synjardy cause weight loss? Yes, it certainly has helped me lose weight, as it suppresses my appetite. I do pee more and am thirsty. I do take vitamin B12, as it's helped with energy and a couple other side effects. Also, the Synjardy has made my A1C go down from 11.8 to 4.9 within 6 months. Every so often, I have tummy issues but have never thrown up from it. All in all, it's done wonders."

"Update to my other review. The doctor's office was able to get things straightened out, and I was able to get Synjardy for free with the discount card after all. I have been on it for about 9 months now. I have lost around 30 lbs, my A1C went from 11.5 at diagnosis to 6.2 at my last doctor's visit and could probably be better if I didn't forget my afternoon dosage all the time. Average fasting blood sugar went from the 280s to the 110s. I wish I could stay on this forever as it has worked great for me, but I'm sure the discount card program will end at some point. Have noticed increased urination, but nothing too terrible. My dosage is the 5 mg-500 mg pill twice a day."

"Throughout 2022, my A1C's are in the 7's, and my blood pressure (BP) was great, 107/76 in June and 108/78 in Sept. Day-to-day blood sugar readings were 5-7 with lots of walking, and light weights nightly, and proper diet, and my weight is stable. The doctor decided to add Synjardy and reduce Diamicron by 50% in late October. The next A1C in Dec. was 8.3 with a BP of 135/84. Day-to-day blood sugar readings (B/S) are way high, 10-13. I requested taking Diamicron. The doctor worried about low blood sugar and did not comply. My next A1C was 8.3 in March, but my BP was 154/84. The doctor suggested I check my B/P weekly at a local pharmacy. One week later, 196/106 B/P. Ten more checks all around 180/95. Totally out of whack, as were day-to-day B/S. Still, I walk miles every week and have no diet changes. I see the doctor again in 3 days. The only difference in my life is the addition of Synjardy and the reduction of Diamicron. I've stopped weights. Day-to-day B/S is impossible to get on track. Something is out of whack! I am 66 years old and was great till the last six months."

"I received a sample of Synjardy and have only been taking it for 4 days. I started off taking 850 mg of Metformin twice a day and 5 mg of Glipizide twice a day. I had good numbers on this, but the Glipizide was causing too many hypo episodes, so my Dr. gave me a sample of Synjardy. The Synjardy has made my numbers more consistently 80-105, and I no longer have any hypo events. I have also lost 4 pounds in 4 days. The only negative I have noticed is having to drink and pee more. It has made me more prone to waking up a little earlier to hit the bathroom, but it hasn't been that bad. They have a savings card, but my insurance will not cover it at all, so I can't use the card, and without that, it is $431 a month, which I cannot afford."

"Since I have been taking Synjardy for the past six days, I have been throwing up with uncontrollable bowels. I have never experienced this kind of side effect from not even plain old metformin. I thought I was literally dying from all the throwing up. I will never take this medication again, ever."

"It's unreal how quickly and drastically my fasting blood glucose dropped. Within 1-2 days, it dropped approximately 100 points, and I was thrilled! Now I should be able to stay off insulin for a while. (Whew!) I was already on 2000 mg of Metformin ER and Glimepiride. I tried using Farxiga, and I don't think it made a significant difference. But man! This Synjardy! Try it if you can. The only side effect for me was it may have made me thirstier than usual. No big deal."

"I've been on it for a week now. Since switching from Metformin, I've noticed no more aches and pains and have been able to work out since the 2nd day of change! Love this Synjardy so far. Using samples, so have no idea on price and insurance, but I'll deal with that when it comes to it."

"I love this drug! I have lost 17 pounds in 11 weeks, and I feel great. No low blood sugar episodes anymore, and no stomach issues like when just taking Metformin. I do have to pee a lot more due to increased thirst, but it’s manageable. I am using samples because my insurance won’t cover any diabetes care (short-term plan with denied pre-existing condition coverage), so I’m worried about what I will do when my doctor can no longer give me samples. Starting A1C before Synjardy on Met/glyburide was 8.8. Now I’m below 6, and it’s only been 3 months. Waking numbers used to be 160-190, now they are an average of 118-120. No side effects for me. Weight loss for me comes from feeling like I have eaten a ton of food when I really haven’t. I push my plate away earlier too. I’m very active though and do intense cardio/training classes, so maybe the combination of feeling better and medicine has kicked my metabolism into full speed. Lol."

"After one month, this medicine, Synjardy, brought my A1C down from 8.3 to 7.1. My glucose from 288 to 116. The only problem is that it is giving me a vaginal yeast infection, and it is severe. It goes away a week with meds and comes right back, so I will have to stop. Also, a little nausea. I was getting good results."

"This drug is magical! Lowered my A1C from 11.8 to 5.4 in 3 months. For 6 months, I was on 1000 mg/12.5 mg twice daily. My doctor has now decreased it to once daily. I dropped about 22 kg in 6 months. I suffered from tolerable side effects such as upset stomach and hypotension. I don’t feel thirsty, and urination frequency is normal. Made me hate red meat :)"

"I've been on Synjardy for about 3 months. Sugar levels are more consistent. No more sugar crashes, and I've lost 13 lbs. No other side effects. It's working great for me! Dr. gave me a coupon so I get it free for 12 months."

"My doc prescribed Synjardy with 12.5 mg/500 mg Metformin twice a day. My daily numbers dropped from 145 to 120 in the last 2 months. Also, my weight reduced by 10 lbs (7% of my total weight). But my blood pressure dropped to 100/60. Earlier it was 117/75. Starting to feel dizzy. Planning to talk to my doc about low BP."

"Dr. put me on Synjardy, and after 3 months, with no change in diet, my A1C went from 5.7 to 8.9!! For the money, you would think it would be a miracle drug. I think I will stick with the cheaper metformin that maintained a 5.7 A1C."

"I have been using Synjardy for the past 3 years and have found it is better than straight Metformin. I could not leave the house when I was taking 2 - 1,000 mg tablets of Metformin. I am taking the 12.5/1,000 mg tablet 2 times a day, and I am having no problems with it. It has lowered my morning glucose readings closer to 100, and my after-meal readings under 180, which is what I needed. Seems like the mix of the two drugs works better than Metformin alone."

"It really helped me lower my sugar, but it gave me difficulty breathing, and because of that, I also couldn't sleep well. I wish Synjardy didn't have such side effects on me, cause it really works. But with strict diet and exercise, I have been able to keep my sugar in the normal range."

"I am 47 years old, on an insulin pump, and have had pancreatitis 4 times in my life due to high triglycerides. I am currently taking Ozempic at the lowest dose because I am afraid of pancreatitis revisiting (worst pain ever). Last week, my doctor put me on the Synjardy, and my sugars this last week have been under 150 even after eating. I will say that I do watch my carb intake, keeping it under 30 per meal, and I lost 4.2 pounds this week. I don’t know if these results are normal, but currently, I am a believer. I cannot wait to see down the road if I have continued success. I have had frequent headaches, but I am hoping those pass. Hope this helps someone."

"This medication has really controlled my blood sugar dramatically compared to Metformin alone. My HbA1c levels are at 6.8 currently. I have had a few yeast infections over the couple of years that I've been on Synjardy. But miconazole ovules seem to take care of it. Much happier being on Synjardy compared to before."

"Been taking this medicine for five days, can’t sleep, have heart palpitations, nauseous, dizzy, and I respect other people who are successful. It just doesn’t work for me at all. I’m going back to Metformin, will exercise better. I think this stuff is awful, and it was $500."

"I take it along with Metformin ER and Ozempic. My A1c is in the low 6's, but I'm not 100% sure which one helps the most, though Ozempic led to a 30 lb weight loss, which I'm sure was a big factor. Unfortunately, the Synjardy savings card went from paying $70 to only $40 this past month, so my out of pocket with insurance went from $30 to $60 per month. I may stop taking it soon to see its real impact since their 'pays up to $175 per month' card only covers $40!"

"This drug is trash. Used this drug for over 2 years. This company, Eli Lilly, should be investigated. They put something in that drug to make you crave sugar. My A1C went up to 11, it was at 9 when I started. Then started Xigduo for the past 3 months. No craving for sugar, everything went down."

"My new physician switched me from Farxiga to Synjardy 3 months ago. A1C has gone from 6.5 to 8.7, which is the same as before I began taking Farxiga almost 3 years ago."

"40-year-old female. After being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, I made some serious changes. Before starting the Metformin, I fasted for 5 days, which helped reduce my glucose tremendously. After, I followed/continued with exercise and watching what I ate, I saw some amazing results. After about 1 month of being on Metformin, my A1C went from 14 to 9. My doctor reduced the Metformin dosage and started me on the combination pill Synjardy. After about 2 more months, my A1C dropped to 6.5. So far, it has worked great, and I have maintained below a 7.0 A1C now for approximately a year. I have also lost weight with the medication. I had no negative side effects for the past year until now. For the past few months, I’ve continued to get yeast infections. It gets treated, and it comes back every month after my menstrual cycle. I am making the decision to stop taking Synjardy and start another medication. Loved it before this uncontrollable side effect."
