"I have been taking Viberzi for a couple months now. Prednisone was the only thing that was able to control my Lymphocytic colitis. I am now on Viberzi in addition to Imuran and it has been working tremendously. No more diarrhea, I can eat most food I wasn't able to eat before. I found myself sick with a bug last week which resulted in diarrhea. I took my nighttime Viberzi dose and had no more diarrhea after that. I saw some of the reviews here and wanted to give my opinion and share how well it's worked for me."

"Took one dose of Viberzi for the first time last night for IBS and minutes later I had severe chest and back pain, dizzy etc. I knew it must be the medicine - never had anything like that. I thought I was having a heart attack. Went to ER. They said I have pancreatitis. Yet they told me to continue medicine - no way - it would kill me! I read afterwards that in FDA warnings Viberzi in NOT recommended for people who have had their gallbladder removed."

"I have adhesions from a gallbladder surgery and diarrhea and lower abdominal cramping as a result. My doctor prescribed Viberzi to help control these two symptoms. Within ONE HOUR after taking my FIRST 75mg dose, I had developed PANCREATITIS & was hospitalized for two days. DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION - especially if you do not have a gallbladder! If you experience abdominal pain while on this medication go to the hospital! Shame on you, Viberzi. Your product is trash."

"After being on Viberzi for less than a week I became suddenly stricken with severe abdominal pain and vomiting. My husband called an ambulance and I don't even remember getting to the hospital. I came to 2 days later and was told I went into a coma in the ICU and my organs were shutting down. My doctor told me I came within minutes of dying then just turned around and came back to the land of the living. I have absolutely no memory of any of it."

"I've just started Viberzi with samples from my GI and have been very happy with results after just 4 doses. HOWEVER, my balloon burst when I found that the cost will be $600/month. I will finish the sample but as of now I plan to go back to my regimen of iBgard, Immodium AD and Metamucil, all in low doses (depending on how bad episode is). I can't afford $600/month on SS. As miserable as I am, I'm used to the inconvenience and plan to go back on my former regimen. By the time Viberzi is affordable, I'll probably have left this life!"

"Found this new drug on the internet, had to beg my doctor to let me try it since he had never heard of it. With what I was seeing online I thought this may be the drug to give me my life back. Nope, it didnt work for me, it actually made me feel like a had to go more. I didnt have any side effects other than that. I was on the 100mg dose 2x a day. I have had IBS D for over 30 years and have taken a lot of Imodium to control my symptoms and maybe that had something to do with this drug not working for me. But its great that they are trying to come up with new treatments, maybe the next one will work for me.I can only hope."

"I've been taking this medication for two months now. At first I was taking the full dose, but I never had a BM so I lowered to 75mg once a day. I haven't had an IBS-D attack since I've taken it. I still have my A flare ups sometimes, but it's really been a lifesaver. The downside is that my BM's have now gone to every 4th day, and when I do go it's in very small amounts, is painful, and I usually end up having to skip a few days of viberzi to get it all out. The medicine definitely works. For me, it works too well. I'm going to do a follow up with my doctor. I don't want to give up this medicine but I don't think it's healthy to be constipated all the time, either."

"IBS- D for over 30yr , tried everything but nothing worked. Took Viberzi and immediately my D was gone. Life was so much better. For those of us who suffer with IBS-D it was a miracle, I felt normal and healthy first time since the 80is. No side effects at all. Unfortunately after 3 months is stop working, like some other users noticed, the symptoms slowly started to come back. First the gas then the diarrhea. It has been 6 mo since I started to take it. I am about 20% better than I was before Viberzi – I guess I will take it and pray that it will not get worst, but it is a little disappointment"

"I've been on Viberzi for a little over a month now and it's been fantastic. My only problem is, each morning when I take it, i always feel like my arms way 100 pounds so, I lay down for a little while until that passes but then I'm good to go for the rest of the day. I'll take a little discomfort in my muscles for a day of not having to worry about pooping my pants"

"Started viberzi 75mg 2x daily for IBS-D since I don't have a gallbladder. Was great for first 4 days and then diarrhea kicked in 1x daily. Early this morning had severe abdominal pain with sweating and weakness. Pain was so bad I thought I was having a heart attack and almost called 911. Made myself vomit and felt better after that. MD said if it happens again I will have to come off the Viberzi."

"I can not tell you how wonderful this medicine has been for me. I have suffered from IBS for probably 10 years, now I am able to have a normal life , free of spastic bowel movements every time I would eat, never able to sit thru a movie, NOW I AM FREE"

"26 yrs DX of IBS-D, Collagenous Colitis, Chrohn's, total colectomy w/Jpouch. I have tried every Rx known & nothing could stop the 20 BM's, incontinence, nausea, GI cramping, and rectal spasms (from surgery) I found Viberzi read pt reviews, Allergan Pharm documentation I was on 100mg x2 daily. Similar symptoms the first few days by the 3rd day, major decrease in stool frequency and gut motility. Then towards my 29th day it abruptly quit working, I became severely ill nausea, vomiting,headache. GI had me stop taking Viberzi vomiting & D in bed a week. GI did blood work and Lipase levels at 124, next week Creatine 1.2 Lipase 200, still very ill & no answers my headache off of it for 26 days. FDA fast-tracked this be careful!"

"This medication Viberzi has worked so well for me. I am able to get back to the gym and do more than I have in years. I have not had any side effects at all. It has been difficult to fill the prescription at times, they have to order it a few days in advance."

"I have suffered from IBS-D for 10 years. I used to be able to manage it by not eating triggers and occasional Imodium. The last six months, it had gotten so much worse. I couldn't eat without running to bathroom within 15 minutes. Going out to eat was horrible. I barely could make it home. It started causing major anxiety because a few times a almost didn't make it. The spasms would last all day. I could hardly eat anything. I would have to take 7 to 10 Imodium if I was going to go out to keep the diarrhea away. I was living on it! After normal testing, the doctor put me on Viberzi. It has been a miracle drug. It has given me my life back!!!"

"Started this medication today after being on bentyl for years. Noticed within a few hours I was having side effects. Muscle pains, nausea, loss of appetite. Hopefully these subside and this medicine works. My insurance covered most of the cost, so pricing wasn't too awful."

"Viberzi was given to me for ibs and I took 3 pills and ended up in the hospital for a week. I honestly thought this drug was going to kill me. I had severe pain in my chest and could not take in a full breath. The hospital doctors said my pancreas was swelled really bad and putting pressure on my lungs and it was because I had used viberzi."

"This medication has changed my life 100%! I have been getting chronic diarrhea for almost 30 years! I stopped working, travelling and I was afraid of leaving my house. After having my last colonoscopy last April 2018, my specialist said to me that my colon was so inflamed that I had to try Viberzi. "I have been on Viberzi 75mg for about 6 months now. I have seen my diarrhea decrease dramatically. I also no longer suffer from the upper abdominal pain that used to trouble me almost daily. As with some others here, I have noticed a kind of sleepy, muscle ache feeling about an hour after each dose and a tendency to constipation, which I counteract by using fiber supplements. Overall, this has made my life much better and allowed me to eat foods I could not eat before. My insurance has covered the costs."

"I've had IBS-D for over 25 years, I've had many embarrassing moments over the years and the disease has limited my lifestyle most of the time. Immodium helps but not always, I finally got the point where I could not deal with this anymore, there are things I want to do that I can't because I've always got to be near a bathroom. I finally got a referral to a digestive health clinic to get this figured out. After many tests and conversations with the doc we settled on some diet changes and this new drug Viberzi. I've only taken the drug for a few days, but I am already seeing great results, I hope they continue for a long time. I'm not having the urgency I had before, I'm down to one BM a day now and feeling much better."

"It took about a month for it to kick in and work properly. I had to supplement with imodium to get by. When I take it now, I take it with (2) Ficercon pills, that helps a lot. Stay on a schedule with it, don't miss doses. I keep it out on the counter so I don't forget. I take it first thing when I wake up, and again before dinner."

"I finally got to try viberzi after a year of begging my G.I. Doctor to give it to me after being on many medications over the last 9yrs. This is the ONLY medication that's helped me. I was on levasin? Bentyl, protonix, xifaxan, and others over the years and none of them did a thing, I had no quality of life, and now that I'm on viberzi, I have a life. I went on vacation with my kids for the first time, instead of having other family take them, I'm enrolled on CNA classes, so I can finally hold a job again. I'm so sorry it doesn't work for everyone with IBS-D"
