"I was put on Slynd for issues with ovulation pain. It helped for sure after just a month of being on it. I unfortunately had some weight gain with it. My bleeding was very sporadic. Some months would be very light, other months no bleeding at all, even on period weeks. I have been on it for over 2 years now and am starting to have bad symptoms: daily bleeding, almost for over a month, abdominal pain, and cramping. Unfortunately, having to stop taking it."

"I have multiple hormonal disorders, including PCOS, PMDD, endometriosis, and adenomyosis. I've been on BC before that had drosperinone in it (Yaz and Yasmin), which seemed to work pretty well, but I am very unhappy with how the progestin-only tablet is working. It causes really awful weight gain (I've ballooned up), bloating, breast tenderness, cramping, and now I have an ovarian cyst (which is the whole point of taking the pill in the first place). Since there is no generic, insurance companies don't want to cover continuous use, so it is near impossible to get when you need a refill. I am switching back to an older medication."

For Birth Control "Started taking this after a D&C procedure. My blood pressure tends to spike, so Slynd was given as an option. Worst hormone ever. My side effects were month-long bleeding, which continues after 4 months of taking the pill, my sex drive completely gone, hair came out. When I feel a lot of cramping, I pass large blood clots. I am often very weak, loss of appetite, and occasional nausea. I would not recommend Slynd. My periods are more irregular than before the pill. Blood doesn't flow - it is blood clots or no flow, and starts and stops at will. I don't know I am bleeding unless I go to the bathroom to urinate and see the blood when I wipe. I have been miserable."

For Birth Control "So I’ve been taking this birth control for about two months now, about to be on my third month starting next week. My periods haven’t been that bad, truly, I am not gonna lie, I did have cramping, and I did spot for like a week or two before my period. It is just like the mental aspect I do struggle with, like anxiety, and I get extremely sad around my PMS. Same time, that’s why I thought I had PMDD for a long time, but I might just think it’s just like when every time I go on a birth control, I get extremely depressed and very on and off with my feelings. I just can’t control my feelings with this birth control, and I don’t know if I’m the only one experiencing this. Some days I’m happy about life, and other times I just want to push away my loved ones."

For Birth Control "I was on Lolo for 7 years prior to switching to Slynd due to getting migraines with aura. I have had no side effects from Slynd except for increasing thirst. The first month I spotted for 3 days with bad cramps, then nothing since. I don't get my period at all (didn't get it with Lolo either). After 4 months my acne has cleared up, some weight loss, and reduced headaches."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Slynd for about 5 months now, and I’m really not a fan. I had to change birth controls because of my high blood pressure from the stress of my job (I’m a teacher), and I was prescribed Slynd. In the beginning, it wasn’t bad, I did notice the decline in my sex drive, but nothing major. It has made my period extremely irregular and long! I had a period in May and then didn’t have another one until August, and it lasted for 12 days! I didn’t have a cycle in September, just some light spotting, and now in October, I have been on my period for 10 days and counting! It’s not a heavy period, it is lighter than my normal period, but who wants to be on their period for 2 damn weeks? Also, cramps every day. I also feel extremely bloated all the time, and my breasts are tender for about 2 weeks a month, which has nothing to do with my cycle being about to come on."

For Birth Control "This is hands down the worst contraceptive pill I’ve taken. I have had two periods every month for the last 3 months. The 'second period' in the middle of the month is a full 7 days of intense bleeding. Also, I have period pain and very low moods. I definitely would not recommend this pill at all. I give it a 2/10 because at least I’ve not fallen pregnant…"

For Birth Control "I’m on my first month of this medication. At first, things seemed fine. My first period was 5 days early, and I had cramping. On day 2 of my period, I had horrible heavy bleeding and clotting, like scary heavy bleeding. Trying to decide if I will continue."

For Birth Control "I started using this pill after the first one, after endo surgery, which made me bleed for 3 months straight. I have had no issues with bleeding and the bleeding stopped (I skip periods). I am a little moody at times, which is odd for me, but I deal with it, but I did have anxiety and that is pretty much gone. My acne subsided and only a few mild cramps here and there, nothing unusual. The only thing is, after 5 months of no period, I am spotting. But I think that is normal for continuously taking the pill. First pill that my body hasn't rejected. Honestly, I think it depends on the person, so if you are worried about taking this medication, if your doctor prescribes it, go in with an open mind that this medication, like all medication, might not be right for you, or it might be amazing!"

For Birth Control "I had been on the combination pill for a long time, but since developing aura associated with migraines and the risk of stroke associated with the combination pill, I was recommended to switch to progesterone only. I started with Microlut, this wasn’t a great experience for me, bringing me back to my teenage years of horrid period pain, etc. This was for roughly a month with spotting, etc., after the initial period (I am giving you some background info to compare with Slynd). I have since switched to Slynd, currently two weeks in. The spotting has stopped, thankfully, I’m assuming it might be from the increased progesterone compared to Microlut. I haven’t experienced any adverse reactions in anxiety or agitation levels, as other reviews have indicated. I am hopeful I have found a replacement for the combination pill, and the cost will be worth it."

"So the first month on Slynd was pretty great for my PMDD symptoms. I was taking these continuously, no placebo pills. I still had breakthrough bleeding at around the end of the first month, it was light spotting that lasted about 9 days. Not a deal breaker. What was, after I stopped spotting, I experienced pretty bad depression from having no energy to do anything! I was trying to stick it out while my body adjusted for 2-3 months, but it seemed to just be getting worse by the day. THEN I started getting loose stool and cramps every day. The GI stuff was also getting worse by the day, I had to quit. I tried Yaz next, which has the same type of progestin as Slynd. Within days of starting that, the GI issues returned. I have had Nexplanon and the mini pill in the past, which have a different progestin and did not cause these GI issues. I believe since drospirenone has unique properties from the other progestins, it can cause GI issues in some."

For Birth Control "My gyno NP put me on this medicine because she said she didn't want to send me to the vascular doctors right out of the gate, which is fine. But it hasn't been fine. I have been on progesterone-only pills in the past as I have a pretty severe migraine disorder and it was the only hormonal contraceptive I could take. I've never had problems. I have been bleeding for 53 days straight on Slynd. This wasn't a problem before Slynd. I've contacted my provider who insists I keep sticking out my 90 days on this drug, although I am bleeding pretty heavily for 53 days straight and have lost 30 pounds. The daily cramping has been pretty annoying, too. I have a little bit to go. At this rate, I am sticking it out just to get my vein referral and then tell the nurse practitioner who prescribed me this medicine she is fired. This is a prime example as to why mid-levels get a bad rap."

For Birth Control "I have been fixed, but periods are extremely bad, so I asked for a hysterectomy. In order for insurance to pay, I have to be on birth control or try some less invasive procedures, I chose BC. I am a smoker, so they put me on Slynd because there is no estrogen in it. I bled for the first 9 days, had breakthrough bleeding afterwards, experienced major headaches and excessive cramping, which caused me to take ibuprofen. I started my 2nd week, couldn't concentrate, my whole body was experiencing the feeling of having a fever all the time, and I had no energy. Starting the 3rd week, my urine was dark orange, so maybe I have a UTI. I went to the doctor, but the urine dips and cultures all came back negative, they drew blood and saw that my liver functions were extremely high. 3 days without taking the pill, and the liver issues are continuing to get worse (I don't drink alcohol!). I'm becoming jaundiced, and my nausea is uncontrollable even with prescribed meds. Ultrasound tomorrow to see damage caused by Slynd."

For Birth Control "Had no luck with any other birth control. Slynd has been life-changing. No period at all, even on placebo (3 days), and no cramping or anything."
