For Birth Control "I was switched to Slynd after taking Sprintec for 3 years due to high blood pressure. I unfortunately had a bad experience taking Slynd. It gave me the worst cystic acne (my skin was clear before). I had a lot of spotting during the first pack and horrible cramps. My period was very light, but the cramps were so bad during it I contemplated going to the hospital. The second pack, I also experienced horrible cramping that would wake me up at night, but my period never came and still has not. I’ve gained 20 pounds since starting Slynd without changing any of my normal daily habits. On top of all this, my insurance refuses to cover it, and it is very expensive ($250 a pack)."

For Birth Control "I have been on Slynd for a few months now, and I LOVE it! I have endometriosis and would have terrible periods prior to taking this. After my third baby, my gyn suggested a birth control and put me on Slynd. I had a period the first month, but haven’t had one since. I get very mild cramping around when I should get my period, and that’s it. This has done wonders for me."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Slynd after my doctor found my BP high during an office visit, and my readings at home were high also. I was on Yaz for several years before Slynd. I had withdrawal bleeding on Yaz during the inactive pills. When my doctor switched me to Slynd, I was dreading the breakthrough bleeding I knew I was probably going to have. My first month, I had no breakthrough bleeding and no period! I have now been on Slynd for 6 months and have experienced no breakthrough bleeding, and my periods have stopped! It has been wonderful for me! I am 42 and was a long time user of combo birth control pills/ring since age 17 due to heavy periods. I always had a period on the combo pills, and some months, I still had very heavy periods while on the combo pills. Slynd has been an easy transition for me and has had an added bonus of having no bleeding. I do get some slight cramping during the 4 days of inactive pills, but no bleeding or spotting at all!"

For Birth Control "I started taking Slynd to help with my heavy periods. I have 3 small fibroids, and I hoped this would lighten my flow until I could figure out my surgical options. I started taking it on the first day of my period, and the first thing that happened was bloating that was so intense I could barely put on pants. I had the WORST period of my life. The cramps were debilitating. After about 10 days of pain and cramping, things slowed to just some spotting, but after a week of that, my period came back HEAVIER AND MORE PAINFUL than I’ve ever experienced in my life. I was literally filling up an overnight pad every 45 minutes. I stopped taking the pill after 18 days of starting because the side effects were unbearable. I’m 5 days off it, and my body is slowly returning to normal. Don’t make the mistake I made by ignoring the low approval rating for this medication. The side effects are horrific."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this birth control Slynd since the beginning of the year. It started out great. Very light periods, little to no cramping. I had breakthrough bleeding a couple of times, but I figured my body was just adjusting. It’s now October, and I feel so awful. I have been breakthrough bleeding for a week and a half, on and off, with a wide range of heaviness and clots. My cramps are getting worse and worse, and I feel like there’s no end in sight. I thought something was wrong with my body, but after reading these reviews, I can confidently say that it is from Slynd. This is the first progestin-only pill I’ve been on, as I am usually on a combined pill. I didn’t do any research before starting this pill; my doctor suggested it, and I decided to try it. I know every body is different, but in the past couple of months, I have had nothing but painful periods, cramping, and breakthrough bleeding. I’m not pregnant, though, so I guess it’s been working."

"Okay, girls. I’m here to give you a positive review. I started this medication because I had awful periods. I’m talking cramps to where I would have to miss work, and I felt like I was dying. I told my doctor I wanted to skip periods, and this medication and the mini pill are the only pills I can take with other medications I take. For the first 3 months, I spotted every day. Within those 3 months, I may have had 1 period that lasted 1 day, with no cramps starting the second month. As of 2 weeks ago, the spotting ceased. My mood is better, and I’m losing weight. I love it. I’m thankful for the manufacturer coupon because my insurance would not cover it. Starting my 4th pack tonight. Don’t be scared to try this. Give your body at least 3-4 months to adjust."

For Birth Control "I am halfway through my 3rd pack of Slynd pills, and so far, I really like this one. I was on norethindrone (Mylan) for almost a year and had headaches, weight gain, and mood issues. I stopped for a month, then got on Slynd. I started it the first day of my cycle. I started my second pack and had spotting for 2 days (I'm assuming it was a period) and slight cramps. My third pack, same thing, I had spotting the first day of the pack (when my period was to come), and slight cramps and felt like I had a period with mild symptoms. I'm hoping it stays like this, but I know I'm still adjusting. No weight gain so far, no acne, and my mood is much better than with my other pill. I get it through Nurx, and my insurance covers it, luckily, because so far, so good!"

For Birth Control "I am into a month and a half. At first, I had spotting here and there. The past few days, it has been almost a normal period. The doctor said it could take up to 3 months for my body to regulate to it. So far, I have noticed more breakouts, slight cramps, and some depression/anxiety, however, my body is adjusting, so that's to be expected, especially since I already suffer from both. My doctor has me skip placebo pills and said I won’t get my period anymore in a few months by doing so. I’ll be back to update after a few more months. Just remember, it takes your body time to adjust (could be a few months). Nothing unbearable."

For Birth Control "I started taking Slynd after experiencing migraines with auras on my previous birth control. At the recommendation from a nurse practitioner, I started taking Slynd. I only took the medication for about 2 months when I decided to stop. I was experiencing awful mood swings that were far more emotional than before, bad cramping, and consistent spotting. I know depression is not a physical symptom, but my depression was far worse and more frequent in episodes while I was taking this medication."

For Birth Control "I've tried a lot of different birth control pills and an IUD. I've always had irregular periods and bad cramps. My doctor thinks I could have endometriosis, so she suggested I try this last pill before proceeding with a laparoscopy. I hardly have any cramping since starting Slynd. I am on my third week of my second pack, and it seems to be helping the cramps. I started bleeding during the third week of my first pack and bled heavily for about 2 weeks. I finished the pack, and the bleeding stopped. In the middle of my second week of my second pack, my period started again. I've noticed more anxiety and mood swings. Also, what is up with this acne? I've never had acne in my entire life. Maybe a couple of pimples here and there before my period, but this is insane. I've already gotten this far, so I will finish out the 3 months."

For Birth Control "I'm 43, no kids, and started going through 'the change' about a year ago. I'd never had heavy periods or cramps or anything before, but boy let me tell you, that stuff punched me straight in the baby maker last year! HEAVY periods (we're talking anemia) and cramps that would take my breath away (I now feel like an idiot for telling other women that they were exaggerating for all those years!) Thankfully, the gods forgave my ignorance, and my new gyno offered Slynd. My husband was confused at first (he had a vasectomy years ago), but once I convinced him that I wasn't cheating on him, lol, we researched it together, and we're so glad we did! I haven't had a period since starting Slynd 9 months ago, no cramps, and I'm less angry. I say 'less' because my seizure medications keep me from being a happy little tree ALL the time, but better is STILL better! Ps- I have migraines with auras, and my body violently rejected a copper IUD years ago, so I'm incredibly thankful for the option of Slynd!"

For Birth Control "Absolutely awful. This is the first time I've taken Slynd, and it has given me nothing but problems. I have cramps every day. My headaches were the reason I had to change my meds, and they have gotten much worse. I'm so bloated and feeling icky. Not to mention, my irritability has never been this bad. It doesn't help that I've been bleeding every day since I've started this. 0/10. Would never recommend to anyone for anything. I wish I had never started taking these meds."

For Birth Control "I’ve been using Slynd for either 2 or 3 years now. I’m 42. At first, it was tough as my body adjusted - I had breakthrough bleeding anytime, anywhere. My doctor warned me about spotting, but it happened so frequently that I thought about discontinuing because I’d rather have 7 days of planned bleeding rather than randomly whenever. (I recommend using Softcups, they have a cleaning product so you can reuse them. Reusable pad washing got old.) But it started happening less and less, and the period moved towards being nonexistent too. By the end of the first year, I was no longer having a period, maybe a day of spotting. Now there’s basically nothing ever. It didn’t help with my acne or IBS (which seemed sensitive to hormone changes), but my cramps, pain, and nausea from PCOS are virtually gone! along with my period. I didn’t notice any mental changes, but I have existing problems. My weight has also crept down instead of creeping up, but that may be the spironolactone we added last year."

For Birth Control "I have been on Slynd for almost a year now. I’ve tried so many birth control pills, and they just don’t work, but with Slynd, I stopped having emotional issues and lost weight. I don’t have proof even when I take the placebo, but still have some period-like symptoms some months leading up to the placebo (cramping, etc.). Plus, it has a 24-hour window when most progesterone-only pills do not."

For Birth Control "I've been on Slynd for two months, and I'm not happy at all. My emotions are all over the place, and I bleed for 15-20 days. The cramps and headaches are horrible. I'd rather not take Slynd. I stopped last night and contacted my OB."

For Birth Control "I am now on my 4th month of Slynd and love it. I struggled with horrible cramps, heavy flow, and terrible hormonal acne before Slynd. Cramps and heavy bleeding have completely stopped, but my acne persisted up until now. The first few months my acne was very consistent (new breakouts almost every day). However, after starting my 4th pack and trying a healthier diet, my acne is clearing up and looks a lot better than it has on other BCs. I have had no weight gain, and I feel that my moods are a bit more stable. The only issues I had were pretty consistent spotting (it felt like I would be on my period more than I wasn't), but I've noticed that this reduces each month that you're on it. Slynd is the only birth control that I've tried where I cannot feel the side effects every day. I have probably tried 7 different types of BC, and this is the best one yet (besides the fact that my insurance will not cover it)."

For Birth Control "Ok, so after reading all of the reviews, I wanted to post mine to warn people about what can happen. I only did one month on Slynd, and it was actually hell. I bled for 17 days with some of the worst cramps I have ever had. I’m not saying this will happen to everyone, but be warned it can happen, and it wasn’t fun. I was way too scared to even try another month."

For Birth Control "I was on Lolo for 7 years prior to switching to Slynd due to getting migraines with aura. I have had no side effects from Slynd except for increasing thirst. The first month I spotted for 3 days with bad cramps, then nothing since. I don't get my period at all (didn't get it with Lolo either). After 4 months my acne has cleared up, some weight loss, and reduced headaches."

For Birth Control "I’m only allowed to take POPs due to having migraines with aura. I took Slynd for a year, and it’s the best. I didn’t get my period on it, I lost weight, my PCOS was entirely managed, and I didn’t get one noticeable cyst while on it! It helped my acne as well. I had breakthrough bleeding for two months, then it was completely gone. I went off of it due to my migraines increasing and wanted to see if it was from Slynd. I gave my body 10 months to adjust to being off of BC, and it was miserable. I gained 40 pounds, cysts were back, raging acne and cramps, super irregular periods. And my migraines were just as bad, if not worse, so I knew it wasn’t Slynd. I went back on, and only two months in, and I’ve lost 15 pounds, and cysts are already better. Got new migraine medicine too, so they’re better as well! I love Slynd, it’s the best POP you can take by far."

For Birth Control "I have been off birth control for 10 years, but I was only having to have a period once every three months. My doctor put me on the Depo-Provera shot for 18 months and had extensive periods of heavy bleeding and weeks of cramping. When I was in my 20s, I had absolutely no period or cramping while on Depo. I’ve been on Slynd for one month and have had no period or cramping. No breakthrough bleeding. It has totally served its purpose. I’m very pleased with it. I have Aetna health insurance, and it’s 100% covered. And I’m very grateful."

For Birth Control "It’s effective against pregnancy because spotting, cramping, bloating, and discomfort happen for several weeks. Also, my anxiety and depression have increased since starting Slynd. I’m not sure if it’s because I haven’t been on it for as long as many other people (I started using Slynd November 19th) - but I don’t want this to keep going throughout months to the point where I throw out the pill and just use another form of contraceptive. My doctor recommended this to me because he thought I was very sexually active - even though this pill stopped me from being sexually active completely because of the amount of periods I got for a long amount of time. Not to mention I kept getting cystic acne and acne in general - and I’ve been gaining weight as well."

For Birth Control "I started taking Slynd in February 2022, and it’s May 2022 now. The first month, I had light spotting when my period was due and REALLY bad cramps, which I’ve never had, super bad cramps before. I couldn’t move because of them, and they lasted about 10 minutes (not exaggerating). I am about to start my 4th pack and haven’t had a period. I haven’t had any spotting or bleeding for months 2 and 3. I have anxiety, so I’m very anxious about being pregnant. I keep taking tests because I’m so anxious. It also has affected my mood dramatically. I have depression and anxiety already, and the reason I switched to this birth control was because it was supposed to help with my PMDD. It made it worse. I almost got sent to a residential mental facility. I became extremely angry and extremely depressed (considered suicide heavily). I’m glad to see it worked for a lot of people, but it’s just not for me…"

For Birth Control "I have suffered heavy, excruciating period pain for ten years. I could not leave the house on my period, and it lasted ten to twelve days. I’ve tried Cerazette, and I had cramps every day for three months, but Slynd has changed my life, but only after taking it for six months. I get some cramping when I have the placebo pills, but nothing that would stop me from living my life. I took a break for a month to see the difference, and the pain was horrible, so I went back on it."
