For Birth Control "So far, Slynd has been the answer to all of my prayers. I used to take norethindrone 0.35 mg because I suffer from migraines and cannot take combo pills. The norethindrone caused me to have severe bleeding for 2 weeks out of the month. It was terrible. Since starting Slynd, I have absolutely no breakthrough bleeding or any other negative symptoms."

For Birth Control "On Slynd for a year now. Switching back to my old POP. I'm 22, 5'3", and I've gained so much weight on this pill, which has never happened with any other pill, including estrogen-containing ones. It's also made me more irritable, moody before periods, and I bled for 18 days last month. The first few months were great, and it actually controlled my period. But now I'll break through bleed again whenever. Not worth the hefty price tag, and my insurance won't cover. Didn't get pregnant, though."

For Birth Control "I'm 47 and have dealt with extremely heavy periods for 30 years now. Unfortunately, when I turned 45, the bleeding became so much worse. So recently, I had my OB put in a PO IUD on the 1st of October, however, (side note: I bled 24/7 non-stop all 3 months) at the end of my third month, the bloating was so unbearable that I had the IUD removed on Jan 18th. My doctor suggested Slynd the day I had the IUD removed, and being willing to try anything, I said yes. I just finished my first pack, and I am still bleeding. I have been bleeding since October 1st, and tonight I passed (I'm so sorry, this is gross, but it's the only real-life experience I've had to compare it to) miscarriage-sized clots!!! I can describe how scary that was seeing that in my Lena cup and coming out over the cup because they were so large. I read someone's review that said the reason it's great for pregnancy prevention is that you're always bleeding! I laughed at that because my sex life has been nonexistent, too! lol *throw hands up"

For Birth Control "I'm 49 years old, and my doctor prescribed this since I have high BP and can't take any other type of pill, and after several unsuccessful attempts to get an IUD. I'm finishing up my fourth month pack. The first 69 days was great. No period, cramping, etc. After that, I've been having breakthrough bleeding every day since. I've also gained 15 pounds. I've decided to stop taking it even though my periods before were irregular and heavy. I'd rather deal with that than daily breakthrough bleeding."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Slynd for about 7 months now, and switched to this just to try it out after previously taking norethindrone for years and just not liking the way my feet would swell up on it. With Slynd, I no longer retain water weight like I did with the previous pill, but my cycle is crazy whacked out. I get my period pretty much every other week for about 5-7 days, sometimes it’s full bleeding with all the period symptoms (cramps, back pain, fatigue, grouchiness, headaches, brain fog) and other times it’s just light bleeding. It’s not regular at all, and I feel like I’m constantly dealing with PMS or menstruation. Psychologically, I’m exhausted all the time but can’t fall asleep, irritable, restless, and depressed. It took me a while to even consider it might be the birth control, but that’s the only variable that’s changed. I’m glad to hear that this works so well for other people, but unfortunately, I can’t wait to switch back to norethindrone."

For Birth Control "43, on Slynd for 3 years: Switched due to migraines. Initial side effects (oily skin, breakouts, irregular bleeding) resolved in 3-6 months. Periods stopped completely (>1 year) with no cramps or breast pain. Skipping placebo weeks prevented bleeding (which usually came a week after the placebo pills). Recently, after over a year, I took a 4-day break, which triggered spotting, bleeding, and a disrupted cycle that has been ongoing for a month now. I recommend skipping breaks to avoid disruptions. No weight gain, no mood swings."

For Birth Control "I really tried... I can only take Minipills due to aura migraines. I’ve had my period almost every day for 6 months. Not breakthrough bleeding, but actual period, wearing a pad/tampon pretty much every day since I started Slynd. I really wish it would’ve worked. I didn’t have any other side effects than this. Will have to switch pills now because I can’t even have sex or enjoy BC due to bleeding every day..."

For Birth Control "I’m 23 and was on Slynd because I suffer from migraines. I was on Slynd for 4 months. The 1st month was okay, I just had awful cramps. I figured it was my body adjusting because, without birth control, I would sometimes have horrible cramps too. I did, however, spot for a week prior to my period, but I know the body takes at least 3 months to adjust, so I waited. The 2nd month, I had 4 days with no bleeding at all, but again, the spotting was very mild, and this time, no cramps. The third month, I had 2 weeks of no spotting, so I thought my body was adjusting. Boy, was I WRONG. This last month I was on it, I bled incessantly all month and started passing huge clots. I wouldn’t soak through pads or tampons or even liners, but the clots were huge and felt super uncomfortable. It’s just not worth it. I don’t want to be bleeding like this or passing clots, and I miss sex. Slynd is most definitely not for me. I'm only giving it a 3-star rating because the few times I did get to have sex, I didn’t get pregnant, so it did its job, I guess."

For Birth Control "I had a horrible experience with these pills. When I bought it, I was hoping the birth control would remove bad symptoms from my period because I wanted to feel normal even on critical days. I tried another brand, but I had headaches. With Slynd, I had breakthrough bleeding in the first month, which I did not expect. I took one pill daily. I was so scared, I never had it before taking birth control pills. It lasted a week, usually my periods last 3-4 days. Also, I had horrible pain, no energy, and I wanted to sleep all day. I contacted my doctor, she advised me to take ibuprofen 600 mg every 6 hours to reduce pain and bleeding. When this nightmare ended, I started having diarrhea. I can't recommend this drug, or it is necessary to conduct an individual examination. Just to be careful."

For Birth Control "I'm 41, a smoker, and used to have depression and migraine problems. Before Slynd, I was a year on Camila, which gave me severe mood swings, uncontrollable anger, and depression (with suicidal thoughts) all the time, plus heavy bleeding twice a month for the last 5 months. My GYN recommended Slynd. I'm on my second pack now, and that’s what I noticed. My depression went away completely! My mood is stable every day (before it was changing from anger to tears, then to stupid excitement several times during the day). It's funny, I feel happier now. I wake up easier in the morning. I lost 6 pounds for a month on Slynd (eating the same things as before). No interest in alcohol at all, I just don't drink it (before, I used to have a glass or two every evening, maybe because I was constantly depressed). Skin is softer, no acne so far (on Camila, skin was clean as well, but extremely dry and felt like a sand mask on my face, constantly like you touch a kiwi). No headaches at all now. Period lasts 6 days."

For Birth Control "I'm 44 y/o, and the doctor prescribed Slynd to help with fibroids and heavy bleeding. Started on the 1st day of my August 21 cycle, and it was noticeably shorter and lighter, so I was very helpful. Started bleeding a few days before my September cycle was due to start and have not stopped since. It is now November. With the Slynd, I started passing larger and larger clots - to the point I was scared to leave home or sleep because they would literally just explode out of me with no warning. I am still trying to get past this anxiety. Almost 2 weeks ago, I passed a clot that was like orange-sized, and that was the last straw. Have not taken since. Bleeding is getting better and I have stopped all the crazy clotting, but the anxiety is still here because I keep expecting them to come back. Not a good experience for me at all! I'm ready for my hysterectomy after this."

For Birth Control "I used Slynd for about 8 months before my insurance decided to no longer cover it, and I LOVED IT. I was able to not worry about taking it at the same time, and it helped with my migraines, something the combo pill only makes worse. Besides breakthrough bleeding during the first pack, I didn’t have any spotting or period for the rest of the 7 months. I’m so sad this pill was removed from my insurance plan, but I definitely recommend."

For Birth Control "This is my first experience with birth control. I can honestly say, after taking Slynd, I will never try birth control again. I became extremely depressed to the point where I didn’t care about anything anymore. I did have some breakthrough bleeding, but that wasn’t a deal breaker for me. The impact on my mental health was extreme and way too much to deal with. I encourage anyone considering this birth control to proceed with caution."

For Birth Control "I'm wrapping up my first month on Slynd after never having been on any form of birth control before, and I'm 25. My gyno recommended it, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to try because I was nervous about getting an IUD. I had breakthrough bleeding for the first ~2.5 weeks, but my worst side effect has been an increase in depression and bad moods. I already experience anxiety and depression, and Slynd has exacerbated my depression to the extent of my boyfriend saying I should get off of it because I've been so down the past few weeks. I have no desire to get up in the morning, every little thing upsets me, I'm super lethargic and I feel as if there's a raincloud over my head at all times. I'm usually very optimistic and happy, and I haven't felt truly like myself over the past month. I want to see if my body adjusts because I still have 2 more packs, but I may not be able to wait. :("

For Birth Control "I started taking Slynd in October, and this is my first time using progesterone-only birth control since I have been experiencing severe acne. I did have irregular bleeding for the first 2 months, then it stopped. Now all I get is really bad cramping when I am due for my period. I was initially put on Slynd due to migraines, which were under control, but recently I have been getting them again. These are the only symptoms I have experienced on Slynd, no other side effects, but unfortunately, these are enough for me to switch and try a different option."

For Birth Control "I started taking Slynd in the beginning of March, and I'm currently on my second pack. So far, I've had breakthrough bleeding lasting 7 days every second week of the pack. I'm breastfeeding, so I haven't returned to my real cycle yet. So far, no weight gain or mood swings and no acne, just heavy breakthrough bleeding. My libido is great and unaffected by this pill, and I love the 24-hour window just in case I get distracted. I have a standard Blue Cross insurance, and my pills are covered at 100 percent."

For Birth Control "Received 2 sample packs of Slynd and the coupon to use to purchase 1 month, $10 refill or $25, 3 month refill. Went on this pill after giving birth. The first month was great. Went on a vacation, so I stopped the pill and restarted the pill again on the 1st day of my period. That's when it never stopped. Had light bleeding, however, no cramps until I was about 2 days away from completing the pack. It went away for 2 days when my period came back 2 days into the 4 iron pills or placebos, and I started another pack thereafter thinking maybe my body just needed to adjust. Once again, my period never stopped. Light bleeding the entire time, who knows when it is going to end. These pills are not good for those looking to have shorter periods. Annoying how many pads and tampons I have to buy, constantly bleeding for months. After this pack, I'm done. Pros: no cramps, no cravings and weight gain, no acne, possibly no pregnancy. Cons: never-ending light bleeding, spotting, and breakthrough bleeding."

For Birth Control "I'm grateful for all of these reviews, so I decided to leave my own. I have been on Slynd for seven months. The first three months were like magic. I typically have heavy periods with bad cramping (I have a fibroid), and all of that essentially disappeared. I was coming off of a pretty terrible IUD experience, so Slynd felt like a miracle pill. Months 4-6 got wonky. Periods got heavier again and bad cramping came back, but only during the placebo days, which was manageable. Month 6 was really weird because my period started in the middle of the pack and before I even hit the placebos. Month 7 has been awful. I've been having 'gush' breakthrough bleeding for 21 days straight now. I live in a maxipad or tampon because the gush is spontaneous and heavy, so it's impacting my mental health and quality of life. I'm going off of Slynd at month 7. It was fantastic at first, but I don't know why it changed."

For Birth Control "My doctor gave me this pill to take since they did not want me to keep taking the birth control pill. At first, I was not sure after reading the reviews, but I gave it a try. The first month all I did was bleed, it was a lot at first, then it slowed down. In the middle of the pack, I started getting real bad headaches. I did not think much of it. I started the second pack, I kept bleeding, but then my legs, arms, and back got really painful. I was not sure what was going on. I read the side effects and saw that this pill can cause muscle pain. As the days went on, it got worse. By the third month, I was in so much pain I did not know if I could go on. I was getting weird feelings in my face. I was getting worried this may cause me to have a stroke. I went off it, and within three days, I felt so much better. Overall, I would not recommend this pill to anyone. The side effects are bad."

For Birth Control "I was put on Slynd birth control a year after having my third child. I had been on the mini pill due to nursing, and I asked my Dr. to change my medication due to breakthrough bleeding. I was wanting to go back on the combination pill I had been on for 20 years. I was given zero choice, other than sterilization for birth control, and was told she was putting me on this. I’m 43 and have had regular periods ever since I started getting them. However, on this medication, I spent the first 3 months with so much bleeding. I had no idea when it was going to start or stop. I have been on it now for 6 months, as my Dr. said to give your body a chance to get used to it. My last period lasted 12 days! I have had terrible acne like a teenager ever since having my last baby. My face is always broken out. This medicine is the worst! And now I have been told my insurance isn’t going to cover all of the cost. I would not recommend this and hoping my Dr. will change my medication."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Slynd to help my ovarian endometriosis. I am on month 4 at the moment and have been skipping the placebo pills as prescribed. I have experienced bleeding and brown spotting, which lasts for 3-4 weeks in a row (!) with only a 1-1.5 week break. Among other side effects are mood swings, depression, acne, and low sex drive. However, one of the endo cysts did diminish from 8 to 5 cm, so apparently that is thanks to the drug. The smaller cyst has stayed the same size so far."

For Birth Control "I gave this pill a try on three separate occasions. Thankfully, no hormone-induced anxiety, depression, or anger like with the combo pill. The horrible part was the constant bleeding. I'm on the third try with this pill at the recommendation of my OB. Had to stop the first time for a uterine biopsy and the second time for bleeding. She assured me if I skip non-hormone pills, no issues. I am on day 45, yes, 45 of non-stop bleeding and discontinued last week. 39-year-old female with fibroids. Horrible experience."
