For Birth Control "I’m on my 8th month of Slynd and can’t stand it anymore. I bleed literally CONSTANTLY! When I’m not bleeding, I’m spotting, and I’ve given it way more than enough time for my body to adjust. I wanted to love this pill because it cleared up the bloating and acne I got from norethindrone, but the bleeding is outrageous!"

For Birth Control "I'm on my third month of taking Slynd. I'm really trying to stick it out at least another month or two, but I'm having some bad side effects. The bleeding has not stopped since I started taking the pill. It began as light spotting, and now I have to wear tampons every day. Forget about my sex life--that is no more. But I'm able to live with the blood, as I have read other reviews that say it disappeared down the track. The thing I'm having a hard time living with is the constant state of despair I seem to be in. It's given me depression. I don't normally cry that much, but now I'll cry at anything. Outside of the pill, I'm sensitive, but I restrain myself. On this pill, I've been blurting out my frustrations irrationally. I'm not very confident in this pill, and I can't say I recommend it from my experience."

For Birth Control "So far, I have loved Slynd. I was on and off combination pills for three months, which really messed with my body. With the combo pills, I would get severe chest and back pains and knew I needed a new solution. My doctor recommended the progesterone-only pill, Slynd, and I could not be happier. While I get my period every second week of the pack (for 7 days) and for 4 days during the sugar pills, I have no other side effects. I have not gained weight and do not suffer from acne due to this pill. I am hoping that with more use of this pill, my breakthrough bleeding will decrease. In comparison to the awful side effects I had with the combo pill, I could not be happier. If you are having issues with the combination pill and don't mind irregular bleeding a little a month, I would recommend this pill!"

For Birth Control "So I don’t really have anything bad to say about Slynd. I had some breakthrough bleeding right after switching from Nexplanon to Slynd. I skipped my first period on the first pack with no breakthrough bleeding. I will be taking the placebo pills this month. It has a bigger window for a missed dose, which is different than other POP pills."

For Birth Control "After trying so many combo birth control pills for years with bad experiences, I was scared to try Slynd. I'm so glad I gave it a try. I have endometriosis, so I have to take it continuously. Slynd works so well with me - no PMDD, no cramps, no bleeding, no acne, no bloating! I am losing weight too. My appetite is normal. I always drink plenty of water, so I'm never thirsty on Slynd either. It has uplifted my mood, and everything finally feels just right. I believe this is the birth control that fits me."

For Birth Control "This medicine has changed my life. I have lived with heavy, painful periods and ovarian cysts my entire life. I have adenomyosis, and my provider recommended a progesterone-only pill since combination pills cause so many side effects for me. I’ve been on Slynd for 7 months, and although I still have a minor period, it is nothing compared to my cycles before! No pain, and I use 2-3 tampons instead of 20+ during a cycle. I think I’ve actually lost 2-3 pounds and no longer have the awful belly bloat I’d get several times a month during ovulation and my period. After 23 years of having a period, I finally have my life back. No more bleeding through my clothes and writhing in pain for days. I am forever grateful for this medication and have thus far experienced zero side effects. I did have breakthrough bleeding up through month 3-4, so hang in there! It passes!!"

For Birth Control "Started this pill at the end of July and am now ending my 5th month with no period whatsoever. Have had a few breakthrough bleeding/spotting over the course of these 5 months, but nothing major. As far as mental symptoms go, I have noticed that I have developed severe depression episodes, and mood swings have been on a rollercoaster. Physical symptoms I have noticed are an increase in acne, specifically around the chin area, which I did not have before taking Slynd. I noticed weight gain in the beginning, which I am currently trying to work off... Personally, I do not recommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "I’m on month 3 of Slynd, and I absolutely love it. I’ve been on various combination pills since I was 16, and I was dreading the switch back to progestin-only since I had my second child, and I’m breastfeeding. I’d had a horrible experience with a different progestin-only method with my first child. One month into Slynd, however, and I’m losing my baby weight rapidly (though breastfeeding helps too, I guess), and my skin hasn’t been this clear since I was a little kid. No crazy mood swings, like I get on the combination pills. I do have a little breakthrough bleeding in the middle of the pack, but that’s a small price to pay for the rest of it. I plan to stay on Slynd even after I stop breastfeeding. I say give it a try, especially if you’re normally sensitive to androgens and break out easily (Slynd is anti-androgenic)."

"I've been taking Slynd for 4.5 months. So far, this has been wonderful! I had extremely heavy periods. I was bleeding for 12 days every month, and 5-6 of those I was changing a menstrual cup every 1-2 hours, even at night. My ferritin was down to 5. This was my last resort before I figured I'd end up with a hysterectomy. The first two and a half months, I had significant spotting and light bleeding. After that, nothing! No other side effects. My moods are stable. I don't have hardly any anxiety anymore. No weight gain. No headaches. I hope this continues to work this well. It's been a lifesaver!"

For Birth Control "I’m only allowed to take POPs due to having migraines with aura. I took Slynd for a year, and it’s the best. I didn’t get my period on it, I lost weight, my PCOS was entirely managed, and I didn’t get one noticeable cyst while on it! It helped my acne as well. I had breakthrough bleeding for two months, then it was completely gone. I went off of it due to my migraines increasing and wanted to see if it was from Slynd. I gave my body 10 months to adjust to being off of BC, and it was miserable. I gained 40 pounds, cysts were back, raging acne and cramps, super irregular periods. And my migraines were just as bad, if not worse, so I knew it wasn’t Slynd. I went back on, and only two months in, and I’ve lost 15 pounds, and cysts are already better. Got new migraine medicine too, so they’re better as well! I love Slynd, it’s the best POP you can take by far."

For Birth Control "I have been off birth control for 10 years, but I was only having to have a period once every three months. My doctor put me on the Depo-Provera shot for 18 months and had extensive periods of heavy bleeding and weeks of cramping. When I was in my 20s, I had absolutely no period or cramping while on Depo. I’ve been on Slynd for one month and have had no period or cramping. No breakthrough bleeding. It has totally served its purpose. I’m very pleased with it. I have Aetna health insurance, and it’s 100% covered. And I’m very grateful."

For Birth Control "Would not use ever again. The first month, I was severely dehydrated and got super constipated to the point I felt like going to the hospital. I also got itchy breasts. The second month (current month), I have been on my cycle for 19 days. The clots are large, some days are worse than others. Tired, depressed, snappy at people. I even feel like my heartbeat is faster. Don't take this. I wanted my cycles shorter. This is not helping one bit. I might have to switch back to my old one. Yeah, I had headaches, but at least I'm not going through a year's supply of pads in a month."

For Birth Control "43, on Slynd for 3 years: Switched due to migraines. Initial side effects (oily skin, breakouts, irregular bleeding) resolved in 3-6 months. Periods stopped completely (>1 year) with no cramps or breast pain. Skipping placebo weeks prevented bleeding (which usually came a week after the placebo pills). Recently, after over a year, I took a 4-day break, which triggered spotting, bleeding, and a disrupted cycle that has been ongoing for a month now. I recommend skipping breaks to avoid disruptions. No weight gain, no mood swings."

For Birth Control "So I’ve waited quite a while since starting Slynd to actually make a review because I wanted to make sure I had the full experience. The first 5 months, I had light bleeding on my sugar pill week, with occasional breakthrough bleeding. For me, this was great because I had just come off Nexplanon, which made me bleed constantly for 30+ days. By my sixth month on Slynd, I only had 2 days of very light bleeding on my sugar pill week, and now I have no bleeding or only very light spotting one day. Also, my acne has cleared up significantly, my suicidal ideation has decreased so much, and the weight I gained while on the implant has gone away. Also noted, I have lupus, which was one of the main reasons it was recommended I try this. No birth control is for everyone, but if you’ve had issues with estrogen-based birth control, I highly recommend trying this. Oh, and I don’t have insurance, and it is still very affordable."

For Birth Control "The main reason why I went on to this was because of previous migraines with auras. I was initially on a combo pill way before, only for it to induce so much anxiety for me, and I already have it to begin with. I’ve been on Slynd for 4 months, and the side effects have been rough. I’m considering coming off it because of them: intense nausea to the point that even water makes me sick to my stomach, extreme bloat, crying practically every day, emotionally not feeling myself, the breast pain hurt so bad I could barely touch them (and let’s not forget I have fibrocystic breasts, so that makes it even worse), and the bleeding. The bleeding is an utter disaster. I get MAYBE one or two good weeks and then bleed the whole time. I’m already past the 3-month mark, and nothing has improved… definitely not worth it at ALL."

For Birth Control "This birth control is absolutely terrible. I have been taking it for 9 months, telling myself that the bleeding will stop. Each month, I bleed about 20 days/month. This cannot be healthy for my body. But, it's no wonder I haven't gotten pregnant - I can never have sex! The one positive: although the bleeding is fairly constant, there is no heavy bleeding. It's just enough to be incredibly annoying and interfere with a normal existence. On this birth control, my mood swings are unusually variable. Since taking this birth control, I feel overly sentimental and cry at the most benign things (e.g., a post on social media, a photo, a news story, etc.). It's been absolutely wild. I would not recommend this birth control to anyone who is in a relationship and looking to have a 'normal' sex life. Furthermore, if you are usually a sentimental person, this might not be the birth control for you. It definitely changes mood/emotions. After a (fair) 9-month trial, I am flushing the rest!"

For Birth Control "Ok, so after reading all of the reviews, I wanted to post mine to warn people about what can happen. I only did one month on Slynd, and it was actually hell. I bled for 17 days with some of the worst cramps I have ever had. I’m not saying this will happen to everyone, but be warned it can happen, and it wasn’t fun. I was way too scared to even try another month."

For Birth Control "I had a Mirena for the last 5 years. My doctor gave me a 3-pack sample of Slynd, on the second month, I still had heavy to light bleeding every day. By the third month, I found out it was not covered under my insurance, so I requested the generic of Ortho Tri and immediately the bleeding stopped. This just didn't work for my body."

"I am a chaste, unmarried, childless woman taking SLYND for endometriosis. So far, it has reduced my pains, reduced my bleeding, cramps and migraines barely happen, and they are not as severe. No hair loss, no acne, no facial hair growth. I was on the mini pill for close to two years, on and off, prior to this pill. It was awful: two UTI infections, hair loss, acne, heavy bleeding, and sometimes two periods a month. While I did have irregular spotting in the second month of SLYND, after three months of use, my periods are mostly non-existent. You have to take it at the exact time every day and avoid alcohol & smoking/drugs because this medicine does raise potassium levels and does go through the liver. You need to take extra care of your body & health while on it. But the benefits outweigh the side effects. One surgery for endometriosis is enough: no more surgery, no more Advil/mefenamic acid and other heavy anti-inflammatory drugs. My IBS symptoms are mostly non-existent as well."

For Birth Control "On this, I had breakthrough bleeding at least two weeks every month. If not, I bled the entire month. I had bad acne, migraines, loss of emotion, and loss of libido. To fully understand the physical symptoms, you must understand how POPs work: they increase the mucus on your cervix to prevent sperm from entering the uterus. They also thin the uterine lining to prevent your eggs from being able to implant in your uterus, allowing you to get pregnant. This thinning of the uterine lining is what causes you to constantly bleed. Sometimes it was just spotting, other times it was full-on heavy periods. That is going to be the case for lots of girls on the Slynd due to the nature of the pill. I was on it for 3.5 months, I took it every day at the same time. After realizing I would never stop bleeding, I decided to end my cycle. I was taking it to treat severe PMDD. Hope this helps!"

For Birth Control "I will never use Slynd birth control again. This stuff caused heavy, extended bleeding the first month. I am now trying to balance my hormones so I can stop this 17-day heavy period. Breakthrough bleeding is spotting, not 10 days of full clotting and excessive pad changes. Never again."
