"I've been on this for a little over a year, and my period has pretty much disappeared. It only comes once every six months (as of right now), and it only lasts three days. My period is super light, and my only effects with my period are tiredness and a little bit of cramping, but it's so little, it's hardly even noticeable. My periods used to be miserable, and so I'm glad I chose this. I don't have any side effects at all aside from my nearly gone period. I love it."

"First week of pills of Slynd and already heavy bleeding. Please tell me it will get better. I've read others' experiences, and I have a hard time accepting 10 days of bleeding. How do you all have sexual relationships with blood flow all the time? I'm not a prude, but ruining sheets and towels is not my fetish."

"I have been on Slynd since last October (about 7 months now). I am 24 and was prescribed it because I have high blood pressure. Since I started the pill, I haven’t had a period or any spotting, and I am taking the placebo pills every month. However, this doesn’t seem to be the case for everyone else! I also didn’t notice any weight gain, I think I actually lost weight when I switched from the combination pill to this one. My acne has also gotten better on my face, but I did break out pretty bad on my back, which I thought was strange. Overall, I’ve liked it and haven’t had many negative side effects, but it is concerning every month when I don’t get a period!"

"I wanted to see how everyone else that has still been on Slynd has fared? I just started my first month on this and started bleeding more than spotting for sure the second week into this pack. It hasn’t really let up! I called the doctor's office and they just said breakthrough bleeding and spotting can be normal and just try and continue. It’s really discouraging as I don’t want to experience this bleeding for the next two months or so to adjust to it. Has anyone else had their bleeding in between improve at all? I’m getting frustrated! I also have some light cramps, otherwise, nothing else, but the bleeding is very frustrating. Hoping it’s normal!"

"So this is my very first time trying hormonal birth control. I went to get a copper IUD originally but discovered I had uterine hypoplasia, so no IUD will ever fit my tiny uterus :( I was so worried about any pill due to physical and emotional side effects. I already have PMDD, bipolar II, and anxiety. I’m stable due to several antipsychotics and couldn’t imagine going “crazy” again. I also have large breasts and told my doctor I did not want them to grow…. He said he prescribes his patients sensitive to hormones Slynd. It also has four inactive pills each month, which I like. It helps keep things balanced for me. Before Slynd, I had terrible mood swings before my period and would basically rage. I feel so level-headed and “normal” now since taking this! I’m shocked! Zero weight gain, no breast changes, and I’m actually less bloated. Like what!? No acne or anything either. And my sex drive is actually better."

"Slynd is the **ONLY** non-estrogen pill available in the US that works for me! In many other countries, you can get Desogestrel, which for me is very similar. No breakthrough bleeding and, of course, no weird estrogen side effects with either. I've tried a bunch of different B/C for my PMDD, and this is by far the best one, though I still have symptoms, unfortunately. I was extremely binge-y and gained so much weight with estrogen-containing pills. I lost the extra weight, and this pill works well now."

"This medication has been life changing! I am 47 and was having horrifically heavy periods every month (sometimes more than once/month). They were causing me grief and wreaking havoc on my daily life. I had tried multiple pills before Slynd and was considering a hysterectomy. My doctor had me try it in a last-ditch effort, and lo and behold, it worked! Took a few cycles, but after about 3-4, my periods are gone! I might have one day every few months that I spot, but that’s it! Truly life changing!"

"I am finishing my second pack, and I am so, so pleased with the birth control. I was switched for being at risk for stroke with my other birth control because of my migraines. I was super nervous to take a POP because I forget to take pills all the time, but I have an alarm, and I think being so scared has made me more responsible. I haven’t had a period, but still get period-like symptoms around the time I should have it. I used to get really nauseous from birth control, and I don’t feel that way at all with this."

"I’m really enjoying Slynd! I was on Lo Loestrin FE and came off because of migraines and intense anxiety on placebo pills. My NP advised me to take this continuously, so no placebo, and my moods/emotions are so stable, and I don’t get a period! I had some very, very light spotting for two days during pack three, but nothing worth doing anything about. My skin has cleared up so nicely, and I haven’t gained any weight. I think it's worth a try if you struggle with panic disorder!!"

"Slynd was NOT for me. After a decade on Yaz, my OB-GYN switched me to Slynd. This was during the quarantine and highly stressful timing, in hindsight, I should have not agreed to change over to something without more research. My side effects began in the second half of the first pack. I began dropping weight and developing acne on my back, neck, and face (I’m almost 40). My anxiety hit an all-time high, and by the first week of the second pack, I quit after having an episode where I had thoughts to harm myself. For reference, I have NEVER experienced that in my life, and it was such a red flag I called my doc to switch back to my old pill. The nurse made a comment about weight loss not being associated with this pill and was cavalier about it. I was upset that this pill is so new with limited research and reviews, and I had been prescribed it simply because I was approaching a certain age. It was not a fit for me."

"So I have been on this pill for a year now. After three to four months of finishing packs, I stopped having my period... which is convenient, but seems like it can be a common thing. I was also previously diagnosed with PMDD and this has made those issues almost nonexistent at this point. Would definitely at least give this pill a chance... it might work for you as well!"

"I was prescribed Slynd due to an underlying heart condition. The first month I took it, 10/10, no complaints whatsoever. It even made my period nearly nonexistent. Unfortunately, my second month on it has been torture. I have had breakthrough bleeding every single day, nonstop. My skin was just about perfect before I switched to this pill, now it is absolutely horrible. Every day I wake up with around 5 new breakouts, and nothing is seeming to help it. It is turning into cystic acne, I think. I cry at the drop of a pin. If someone looks at me the wrong way or makes a joke that I didn't find funny, instant tears. I have noticed slight weight loss on this pill, which I am not too angry about. I am hoping to switch off of this pill and go back to combination pills ASAP. Although my gyno recommended that I wait to finish at least 3 months' worth, which I am dreading. If you don't mind acne, constant spotting, and unexpected crying, this is the pill for you!"

"I would not recommend this pill to anyone. Tried it twice, and both times experienced severe sleep disturbances. Woke up many times a night, night sweats, and many nights I couldn't sleep at all. Breakthrough bleeding that was pretty heavy also occurred."

"On my fourth month of taking Slynd, and I can’t take it anymore. I need to call my gynecologist and see if I can just get off altogether. I was on Sprintec, but due to BP concerns, I was put on Slynd. I absolutely don't like this pill. I have had the WORST CYSTIC ACNE since I’ve been on this pill, and I’ve been to the dermatologist and spent a few hundred on some prescription topicals, and nothing is getting rid of this awful hormonal cystic acne. I haven’t had my period in about a month, so I guess that’s the only plus of this medicine. Lots of bloating, weight gain, and very emotional with this pill. I have never taken a mini pill, and I don’t think I ever will again!"

"I have suffered from long, extremely heavy periods since I was 11 years old. At 38, with my tubes tied and 3 kids, I was at my wit's end. Being anemic due to my period had taken its toll. I went to my Dr. asking for a hysterectomy. He recommended Slynd. I argued, since I have taken other birth controls in the past with no help for my bleeding. But he said he wouldn't recommend a hysterectomy without exhausting all efforts. Now, a year later, I am so glad I found Slynd. I only spot on my 2nd day of placebo and have little to no cramping. Also, my hormonal acne has all but gone away as well. I do have some negative side effects like bloating and weight gain (10 lbs in a year), but for the first time in my life, I had labs done and I am no longer anemic."

"I have been trying different BC pills every four months for the last five or so years. I’ve finally found the one that works for me is Slynd, and I’m at my lowest weight I’ve ever been. No side effects at all, except for continuous bleeding for the first two weeks. I skip placebos and haven’t had a period at all in six months (I skipped all of my placebos including my first packs, not Dr. recommended, but it didn’t have any negative effect). I took one month off all birth control before starting Slynd, and I feel exactly the same as if I wasn’t taking anything at all, except my skin is clearer and again, no periods. This won’t work for everyone, but I was about to give up altogether. Estrogen was the problem for me, now that it’s gone, I have never felt so “together” and happy."

"My gyn gave me 4 packs of this pill for free. Goal was to prevent pregnancy but also to get some relief from heavy monthly bleeding/cramps. I’m on pack 4 and still have breakthrough bleeding, it just happens unexpectedly and can last a week or more. Cramps have improved and haven’t gotten pregnant, but I’ve had major cystic acne and dry eyes, so they’re bloodshot all the time. No weight gain, which is a plus. I feel like a guinea pig since this pill was literally just approved by the FDA, and there are no patient reviews to be found. Not sure if I will continue taking it, I can only imagine what the monthly price will be on a brand new pill on the market with no generic available."

"I started taking Slynd after Lo Loestrin caused me headaches and more frequency to urinate. After 2 weeks on Slynd, I started getting palpitations, chest pain... I went to the ER. They said I am having an extra heartbeat (PVCs), probably from the medication because I am very healthy. I do exercise every day, I don't take stimulants such as caffeine. I didn't do anything different those 2 past weeks. Now I am waiting to see the cardiologist and having almost 24 hours a day this weird sensation in my chest."

"I unfortunately did not have a good experience with Slynd. I bled significantly for the 3.5 months I was on it. It was originally prescribed to help with my migraines but was not successful. I stopped a few weeks ago because it wasn't worth it for me. I wish there were more reviews when I started this, so I hope my review is helpful to others."

"Slynd is my fourth go at birth control and, without a doubt, the best. I cannot take estrogen due to migraines with aura, and I tried the implant, shots, and the only other progesterone-only pill on the market before this one. All left me with heavy, unpredictable bleeding. I’ve been on it for 7 months (I started right when it became available), and my spotting has gotten consistently better every month (I have about 10 consecutive days of moderate bleeding per month). Slynd is my savior, you guys!"

"I've been on this pill for about a year. I'm insanely frustrated with the constant bleeding. I actually ended up Googling it because, although my doc insists that breakthrough bleeding is normal, I'm over it. I skipped one month when my husband wasn't home anyway and didn't have any issues with my cycle. I had my period this month for about 8 days. Once I finally stopped bleeding, I was able to have sex for about 4 days before I started bleeding again, and this time it's been almost 2 weeks of breakthrough bleeding and clot passing. It gets lighter some days, and I think it's almost over, and then BAM it's heavy again. Not to mention the insane and constant low back cramps and what feels like ovarian cysts or something, I'm constantly taking ibuprofen and Tylenol for the back pain."

"I started this at 40 years old to help with PMDD, painful periods, and heavy bleeding. The first 4 months were rough because of the bleeding, but then it stopped around month 5, and I'm so glad I stuck it out. I’m on month 9, and my moods are so much better, more consistent, and I don’t have those horrible bad days anymore. I chose this over surgery and antidepressants for PMDD, and I'm so glad I did. My periods are very short and much lighter, with some cramping randomly, but not that bad. I was also able to stop taking spironolactone for my acne because this cleared my skin up. I thought I gained weight, but I’m really the same size almost a year later, so I think it was just my body adjusting. My advice is try it, but give it at least 4-5 months."

"I have been on Slynd for a few months now, probably around 7 months. My previous birth control pill gave me crazy mood swings and made my depression and anxiety worse, as well as making me extremely irritable. The first three months on Slynd were way better than my previous pill; however, I would experience spotting days or over a week before even taking the placebo pills. About 5 months in, I experienced breakthrough bleeding for 3 weeks. After that, it all went downhill. I find that at the end of the second week of my pack, my depression and anxiety hit an all-time high. Intense mood swings of high anxiety and vicious sadness hit and last until I take my placebos. Every pill affects everyone differently, but if you have a history of depression, anxiety, etc., you may want to use a different pill; I would not recommend this pill."

"I have been on BC pills in the past, I have always felt super nauseous and literally felt pregnant. I just had a baby 4 months ago, and my OB put me on SLYND right at my 6-week postpartum checkup. I have PCOS and suspected endo as well. He said this shouldn't make me feel ill. The first month was good, except I had breakthrough bleeding. I am now ending month 3 and going on BC permanently. My sex drive, which has always been extremely high and never affected on other pills, is literally at a 0! I am constantly bleeding, periods are SUPER horrible. I am nauseous every single morning that I wake up and have headaches all day. I also feel super moody, tired, and my 'always low' blood pressure seems to be on the rise. This just was not for me."

"I have had raging PMDD for my entire life starting at 15 when I got my period. For the first time in my life, I’m happy. I can pursue a career without getting fired, raise my child without losing my temper, enjoy my marriage. If you have PMDD, please give this a shot! It’s a little wobbly the first 90 days, then no period, no PMDD, no problems. The hormone was discovered in the 70s, a crime it only went on the market in 2019."
