For Birth Control "I switched onto this pill about 2 months ago, and they have honestly been the worst months. I've been feeling incredibly emotional, lazy, developed eczema on my face, and felt very depressed. I have started antidepressants after visiting the doctor, but after reading reviews, I believe it could be the pill causing these issues. From my experience, I would not recommend this pill."

For Birth Control "I used this horrible pill for 10 years. It caused me to have horrible mood swings, rage outbursts, changed personality, and suicidal thoughts. Last year, after having harmed myself, I thought I'd quit the pill and turns out the self-harm and horrible angry, jealous, anxious thoughts went away. I'm still a nervous wreck, though. I felt like I had no control over my emotions, I was scared I would harm myself, my pets, or loved ones. Stay away from this pill, please. Especially if you already suffer from anxiety and depression. Don't wait for the symptoms to go away."

For Birth Control "So, I had a weird experience on this pill. I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo before this with fewer problems. The first 2-3 months were okay, then I started having problems. I had 2-3 days of spotting before my period for the last two cycles, which would last at least 7-8 days. Then I also had 1-2 days of spotting after my period. I had super-heavy discharge (which was extremely uncomfortable) as well as horrible mood swings and unbearable night sweats. The only good thing it did was clear up my face. I stopped taking it, and now all of a sudden I started bleeding again. Please use caution when choosing a BC so you don’t end up in a situation like mine."

For Acne "I've always had very oily skin since I was about 15 and have always had moderate, very irritated acne. Every single pimple leaves a mark on my skin. I suffer from really bad hyperpigmentation even if I don't pop or touch my face when a pimple appears. My acne has never been 'severe', it just gets bad around my period and is hormonal. I have been on Yasmin for 2 months and a half and am almost done with my second pack, and my face is TERRIBLE. I have never had this many pimples. I made a mistake trusting the reviews that say 'stick with it for at least 3 months.' No. Only stick with it if you see improvement, and it shouldn't take more than 6-8 weeks to see improvement. If your acne is still getting worse, like mine, stop taking it. It is not for everyone. My mood swings have also been crazy, like never before. This pill made me depressed and just feel sad all the time. Please do not take this unless you have PCOS or very severe hormonal acne."

For Birth Control "Both my GP and gyno wrote me a prescription for birth control for my endometriosis, and I never filled it because I was weary. My prescription lapsed from my GP, and my gyno said it would be best to fill for me because I've had bad experiences on other pills. The first day on it, I was fine, but as days went on, my mood turned ugly. I'd lash out and have a short fuse around everyone for the smallest things around 1 pm until the time for the next pill (9 pm). In between that, I got a foggy head and felt dull and blank. I zoned out and couldn't think at all. My anxiety also skyrocketed. I was on this pill for TWO WEEKS and couldn't deal with these side effects. It's not worth sticking with. $84.00 straight into the garbage."

For Acne "I started this pill, Yasmin, to try and control my acne, which was getting worse and also painful. At first, it looked like it was clearing it, and it was, but it also brought a lot of other problems. I was constantly emotional, always arguing with my friends and in bad moods, and have never felt so low about my body, hair, face, etc. Then I started developing rashes around my armpits and on my chest, and patches on my face became crazily dry and began weeping because they were so cracked and dry. I hadn’t changed my diet, any skincare, and wasn’t taking any other tablets. I also found that I’d lost my sex drive, which I’ve also seen written on a few other comments. I’m not sexually active, however, I still normally have a sex drive, and I’ve found that nothing has really ‘turned me on’ since taking the pill. After all of this, my skin isn’t even miraculously clear, it’s better, but I still have a few spots and enlarged pores. Really not a great pill."

For Menstrual Disorders "Well, one friend of mine took this pill for birth control, and she almost died. For six months, she walked around the house holding on to the walls because she was so dizzy and weak. She almost never came out of it until she tried an alternative method, which released her from the terrible state she was in due to this pill. Please stay away from this pill. Another friend of mine took Yasmin for irregular cycles before her wedding day, and her mood swung so much she came to her wedding depressed and extremely irritated."

"I started these pills like a few days ago. I was aware it can cause extreme mood swings and depression, but never ever thought it could do that within 2 to 3 pills. Right after I started, I was nauseous, obviously, I had bloating, obviously, and I had such terrible mood swings. Literally, I cried 5 to 6 times within the second day of my pill. I was happy, and I was doing good with my mental health, and this thing messed it up. I decided to stop continuing to take them anymore. I don't think I can survive those 20 days on the pills, so I put myself first and decided not to take it ever again."
