For Acne "I’ve been on Yasmin for a little over a month. My skin has gotten a lot worse than when I first started. I know they say you have to stick it out for about 3 months at least, so I’m going to see how it goes. I’ve also been feeling really depressed lately and just not myself. I’ve always had acne, but it’s never been this bad, and it’s never affected me as emotionally as it is now. My face is red all over, and it literally hurts. Really hoping I see some results soon and stop feeling so incredibly sad."

For Birth Control "I had been taking this for over a decade, since I was a teen. Never experienced any negative side effects at all. I needed it to regulate my period. No mood swings, no weight gain, no depression, the clearest skin ever. I stopped taking it six months ago. Experienced hair loss, tons of acne, both facial and body, greasy skin and hair. It's been six months and these are starting to subside, but periods are irregular again. I'm thinking of starting up just because it was nice to have clear skin and regular periods. I would highly recommend this brand to anyone."

For Acne "I suffered with terrible acne on a progestogen-only pill, and it took years for the doctor to change me to a pill with a break. I was put on the same pill as Yasmin to start with (under a different brand name), and within weeks my skin was so much better. I’ve been on Yasmin for years (now being switched to Yacella, which again is the exactly same but a different brand name), and I never get a huge breakout. I get the odd spot every now and then (but who doesn’t!)."

For Acne "I've been on it for over 2 months now and I still haven't seen any improvement in my acne, if anything, it has been getting progressively worse. Can everyone write how long it has taken for Yasmin to have an effect because I'm losing hope."

For Birth Control "So I was on Microgynon for about 4 years. At first, it was totally fine, then somehow I had put on nearly 3 stone, lost who I was, depressed and anxious. So I came off the pill for an operation and stayed off, had a pregnancy scare, and don’t feel comfortable with other contraceptives that stop your period due to my PCOS. My mom was on Yasmin for 20+ years and was fine with it. I asked years ago, but they wouldn’t give it to me because it’s usually for those who have acne, but I explained my Microgynon experience, and the 3rd doctor I asked finally gave it to me. The first 3 months were difficult, I got small acne on patches of my face (never had acne EVER, even during my teen years) and felt sick often. On my 4th pack, acne disappears, no weight gain or difference in moods (might cry a bit more easily but I am taking a hormone). For now, I’m happy, and I’m monitoring my weight and moods, honestly, I’d try whatever pill your family has taken at least once because it could end up working better for you!"

For Acne "I'm almost done with my 2nd pack now, and my acne got worse! This is the worst since the day I was born! It is all cystic acne and very painful! The only good side effect that I can see right now is I don't get cramps. But I will still give it 2 more packs before I give up on it completely. I'll be back to give a review again."

For Birth Control "So in March, I got infected by coronavirus and had side effects after recovery. One side effect or after effect of COVID was irregular periods. My gynac recommended Primolut N for about 5 days to kick start my periods, but it didn’t really help. So I started taking Yasmin on suggestion by my doctor, and let me tell you what this pill does. It’s just so awful, it made me gain some weight, gave me acne, made me constipated, and I was nothing but a walking catastrophe. Got severe anxiety, and I cry CONSTANTLY. I’ve never felt so unstable in my entire life. Going off it in 2 days, really hope this pill has worked and that I don’t have to take it anymore, cause if I continue taking this pill, I’ll have to go live alone as my family will not be able to tolerate me anymore."

For Birth Control "I LOVED being on my Yasmin. I struggled with the worst acne, even into my late 20s, and my dermatologist suggested I switch to brand name birth control. Yasmin truly changed my life and my self-confidence. I recently had to get off because we are trying to conceive—but it’s the best for cycle control and acne!!!"

For Acne "I was on Yasmin for about 3 years, it completely cleared up my skin. However, I was concerned about the blood clotting issue, so I changed to First Dianne and then to Zoely. Both were terrible, I broke out in places I never had before. I'm back on Yasmin now, I can't wait till I have beautiful skin again!"

For Birth Control "I used Yasmin for 4 months when I decided to stop due to the side effects. I had terrible mood swings, headaches, and I was always bloated. I gained some weight as well, but most importantly, it ruined my skin completely. I had huge and painful pimples on my chin and jaw area that were never healing. I noticed that during the 7 days break, I would not get new breakouts, so eventually, I decided to quit the pill. A few weeks after stopping the pill, I felt a huge difference. My weight is back to normal, no headaches, no mood swings. My skin cleared in just one month, and I have no breakouts now, but the damage to my skin was so big that I'm still struggling to heal the scars left. I felt from the beginning that something was not right and went back to the doctor to ask for advice, but they told me to wait a few more months for the pill to work. I waited 2 more months. However, I just felt it was getting worse and worse and decided to listen to my body and quit... And I'm very happy I did so."

For Acne "I need help. I’m on Yasmin for a little over 4 months now, and I’m so confused. I don’t know if it’s helping or if it’s going to work. Every month for the past 4 months, during the week break, my skin would clear, which is great, but as soon as starting another pack, I’d break out. This month, my skin didn’t even clear as much, I still had little breakouts. Also, my breakouts are not as severe anymore, but sometimes they are. I really need some advice as to whether I should continue or not."

For Acne "I've been on this pill for approximately 6 weeks, and in the first two weeks, I was getting cystic acne-the worst ever! The acne was occurring mainly on my chin, around my nose, and above my lips. Now I'm getting acne on my forehead, as well as weird cravings (which I have never experienced before). My skin looks far worse than before and much like a cookie."

For Acne "My pharmacist made a mistake, gave me Yasmin instead of the Yaz that I have been taking for years. The label and the printout said Yaz, but the blister pack was Yasmin. I know they are very similar because they have the same type of hormone but in different amounts, and the label said Yaz. I didn’t notice that I had been taking the wrong pill for 2 weeks! My eyes have been insanely dry and irritated, been bloated, gained 2 pounds. And now I have tiny little bumps all over my chest and back. I have never had body acne my entire life! And I think it’s spreading to my face. I’m getting married next month, and I’m freaking out! They just acted like it was no big deal. Ugh! I know everyone’s experience is different. I had no real issues with Yaz except feeling anxious, but that could have been for a lot of other reasons. I’ve always maintained the same weight and had flawless skin until I was switched to this."

For Birth Control "I was put on Yasmin for 6 months to regulate my cycle and reduce acne flare-ups, and it was the worst 6 months of my life. I gained 20 lbs that did NOT come off easily after stopping the pill, experienced horrible mood swings, had HEAVIER periods, acne breakouts, breakthrough bleeding, and I was nauseous all the time. This pill seems to agree with most people, but it definitely did not agree with me. I went on Femcon a year after stopping Yasmin and experienced virtually no side effects."

For Birth Control "I have been on Yasmin from the start of July, and I had to stop taking it at mid-pack because it was giving me headaches. I couldn't eat or sleep. It also let me bleed. Now I'm off it for five days, and I'm having spotting on and off. It's very terrible. It gives me acne that I never had before."

For Acne "I have been on Yasmin for 6-7 months now. I was on Sprintec before (the generic of Otho Cyclen), but I switched over because I thought Yasmin would be better at not causing weight gain. I definitely haven't noticed much weight gain, and everything has been great except for my acne. I have never really had bad acne before going on this pill. Yasmin caused cystic acne all over my cheeks, chin, and along my mouth/jawline. I remember reading that acne in these areas is always due to your hormones. I skipped my period for the past 1-2 months, so I decided to take off and go on the placebo week. Now that it's my 4th day off of it, my acne has gone down significantly and is even starting to fade. I'm seriously thinking of stopping this pill."

For Birth Control "I started taking Yasmin about 6 months ago, and at the start, the only negative side effect I noticed was my skin broke out for about a month before completely clearing up. I didn’t have weight gain other than going up a bra size - so physically it looked like everything was great. HOWEVER, I have been extremely emotional, crying all the time over the smallest things, which is unlike me, and I find it hard to get in positive spirits once the mood swing hits. The most surprising side effect (which I didn’t link to the pill until recently) is my sex drive is almost non-existent, and when I do have sex, it hurts incredibly due to dryness. I am 25 and have never had this issue before, and due to the timing of it, I am confident that it is Yasmin causing these problems."

For Birth Control "Tried many different pills and had the implant in, and struggled to find one to agree with me. Suffered depressive moods, random spotting/bleeding, acne, may the list continue. I had read up about Yasmin before taking it and was very on the fence as there are so many negative reviews, but it has changed my life! It is the only form of birth control I have taken that has given me ZERO side effects and has even improved my acne! The best thing about a pill is you can stop taking it as soon as you feel like it’s not agreeing with you, so I definitely recommend trying Yasmin before knocking it!!"

For Birth Control "I was on this pill for 3 months and ended up very sick with an autoimmune disorder (erythema nodosum). After I recovered, I stupidly got back on the pill (as advised by my doctor) and found I was getting sick regularly. I stopped using this pill and had incredibly painful acne on my body, which stopped after a couple of months, and I stopped getting sick so often. Although I have never had a great immune system, I believe this pill caused me to get sick."

For Acne "Before taking Yasmin, I had NEVER had particularly bad skin. I did break out occasionally, but it is NOTHING like what I've experienced on Yasmin. I started almost two months ago, and my skin has been THE WORST. It might work for people with severe acne, but don't go on if your acne is mild. It sucks. So much."

For Birth Control "I have never wanted to go back in time more so than I do now. Been on Yasmin for 8/9 years, and my hair has thinned immensely while being on it. I have now decided to stop because the side effects far outweigh the benefits. It is probably the worst thing anyone can put in their body. One month off the pill, and the hair loss has begun when it thinned my hair to begin with. Acne has begun when I never had it before. Mood swings, it caused depression, anxiety, and a slew of other harmful effects."

For Birth Control "It's my first time trying Yasmin. I recently got my IUD removed after 3 years because of all the wide array of horrible side effects that I experienced (cystic pimples, vision problems, 20 lb weight gain). The first week on Yasmin, my libido increased, and my face wasn't as oily as it was on IUD. Into the second week, my face is slowly clearing up, but my libido definitely plummeted. Also, I started to notice mood changes. I usually work out 4-5 days a week, but the second week into Yasmin, I felt exhausted all the time, unmotivated, and flat out depressed. Going into my 3rd week, I started to experience shortness of breath, dry eyes, tightness around the chest, and anxiety. I woke up one night unable to breathe, and I was flush pale. I will be discontinuing this medication from today. I also have to see my family physician for a check-up. Ladies, I understand you want to be free of acne, but the side effects on this one are not worth it."

For Birth Control "Worst experience ever. Haven’t even made it through the first pack and have started getting zits, something I never had an issue with, and I also became extremely depressed, another thing I never had. I know they say to wait a bit longer until your body gets used to it, but depression is nothing to wait out and see. I would be afraid if someone who had an underlying mental health issue and this drug could potentially kill them. Use this with caution if you have no other choice."
