For Acne "I never had very bad acne, but did not have perfect skin either. When I started Yasmin for 3 months, my skin was breaking out more than ever, but after those months, my skin cleared up, and I almost never break out, and it is much better than before I took the pill."

For Birth Control "With my previous experience with coc birth control, I was a bit dubious. I’d gained so much weight and developed awful acne on Microgynon. I’m really thankful I was able to get on Yasmin. I’d been struggling with PCOS and its side effects, but I didn’t realize how bad it had gotten. After just a week on Yasmin, I’ve noticed my skin is so soft, my hair is growing back, my skin feels plump, I’m losing weight mostly from my arms and stomach, and I genuinely feel mentally balanced in a way I hadn’t been in a very long time. I’m so taken aback by how great it’s been so far, and I really hope this lasts."

For Acne "I have PCOS. I've been on this pill for 4 months now. The first 2 and a half months, it seemed the pill wasn't working. I had acne around my chin and cheek area. But after persisting on it, it worked! My skin now is very smooth, zero acne, glowing! I also take extensive care of my skin via the right products, food, and exercise, but the pill is definitely one of the main factors for my skin right now. The pill also doesn't mess with my mood, and overall, it just seems to be working great. It's always a gamble with contraception pills, but stay for at least 3 months on them before deciding if it's working or not."

For Birth Control "I was taking Yasmin mainly for birth control as I was sexually active. But after about 2 months (3 packs of Yasmin) consuming it in due course, I realized that it wasn't only for birth control, but it helped my acne as well. After 3 months, my face was clear of any acne, but a few pimples (one or two) here and there, but that's easy to treat. When I stopped taking Yasmin for about 3 months, my acne came back, and now I'm actively on Yasmin again for contraception and also acne. I have tried many useless treatments and antibiotics, and creams and gels that the doctors suggested, but to no avail. And like what one said, 'it works inside out.'"

For Acne "For the first month and a half, I was extremely hungry and gained weight, although I did not realize it and just blamed it on the pill. I was also very tired. Then the hunger pains went away, and I started to gain my energy back, so I naturally lost weight. The acne started to go away, but now, almost finished with the third pack, I am having a flare-up. It is probably normal, and I just need to give it some more time. Overall, I am very happy with this pill, and I have been on a few."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "So far, I really like Yasmin. I had a mild problem with acne and serious mood swings. I was also having a significant amount of dark, coarse facial hair due to low amounts of estrogen. I've seen improvements in all three areas. I started taking Yasmin on the second day of my period, and by the third day, my period was gone. The only downer is that it makes me really tired. I'm always a little cranky because I'm sleepy. It seems as though Yasmin is good for a lot of other problems young women have, and it's just a plus that it prevents pregnancy."

For Birth Control "Yasmin kept my skin clear and my period 'normal' for years. As soon as I stopped it, life became disastrous again. My face was oily and broke out. I had coarse facial chin hair growing constantly. Periods were heavy with cramps I had to take 800 mg ibuprofen for. I started taking them again after 6 months off. Upon resuming, in the first month I had no significant change in acne or facial hair. The second month, slight breast tenderness, and my face was less oily. Breakouts are less but not gone yet. There is less facial hair. Into month 3, breast tenderness is gone and improvements in skin and hair continue. This pill is great for women with PCOS like myself. I should have never stopped using it in the first place."

For Acne "I started taking Yasmin on 01-08-18. A few days later, I started having breakouts like never before. I felt like giving up. I then thought I should give it 6 months because I had acne-prone skin. On my second pack, the same happened. Okay, I didn't give up. The good news is, when I was about to finish the second pack, my face was so smooth, and I couldn't believe it. Hey, I'm on my 3rd pack now. I really, really like my face, it's so beautiful like never before. I'm acne-free. However, I did change my makeup, changed my diet, cut sugary things and dairy products, and I also steamed my face with green tea 2 times in a week. Thereafter, I applied baking powder, left it for 15 minutes, then rinsed with cold or lukewarm water. I'm continuing with it. It is definitely doing wonders for me. Don't give up, ladies, and please do drink lots of water. And another thing, I guess they work perfectly when taken at night, not in the morning."

For Birth Control "I didn't think there was a problem, no immediate reactions, 2 years, and I'd put on 15 lb without changing my lifestyle. My (mild) acne seemed to improve, and it was great being in control of my periods. Then I became moody, emotional, combative, and depressed. Really depressed. I had migraines, at least 3 attacks a month, I had hypertension. And because I had put on so much weight, I was trying to lose it, playing football 3 times a week and going to the gym 2 times a week, no big difference, and I ate less than my slim friends. I don't smoke. I had hypertension (185/135 being the highest reading). I stopped taking it, and now I feel better, lost 10kg, happier, blood pressure is normal. Now I have polycystic ovaries, I blame that pill."

For Acne "Within the first 3-5 months of taking this pill, my skin had gotten 10x worse! My face was constantly dry (no moisturizer would make it any better), my face was also red and blotchy and very sensitive, followed by cystic acne! I didn't know whether to give up or carry on at this point, but it couldn't get any worse than it already was, so I carried on. Eventually, after the 5th month of taking this pill, my skin had cleared up a lot! I was so relieved. It's now my 9th month of being on Yasmin, and my skin is in great condition, I get the odd pimple here and there, but Sudocrem does the job. My acne has completely cleared up, and I feel comfortable enough not to wear foundation. Don't give up taking this pill, just give it time!"

For Acne "I have been on the Yasmin pill for 4 months now. During the first 2 months, my acne got just a bit worse. In the third month, it was the worst I had in my entire life, and I am not even kidding. I have never used to get pimples on my cheek area, but with Yasmin, it was the worst. Now, I am finishing my fourth pack, and my acne is not that bad. My skin started to be clearer at the end of the 3rd month, but even now I still cannot say that my skin is even 60% clear. I will give it a chance for 2 more months to see what results I can get in half a year. I will come back in another 2 months to write a review and share my experience with you."

For Birth Control "I have been on Yasmin since I was 15. My periods used to last 9-11 days, were heavy, and very painful. I can remember my mom keeping me out of school due to this. Not only was my cycle completely crazy, I had acne on my shoulders, upper back, and upper arms. Being in high school, something like this can be traumatizing. Anyway, after almost 6 years, I have been acne-free (maybe the occasional bump or 2) and 4-5 day easy periods! I did gain weight... but who knows if it was because of the birth control... like the lady said before, she gained in all the 'right' places so I can't complain about that one. I went up a whole size! I plan on taking this until I decide to make a little one (another 4 years hopefully)."

For Birth Control "Before Yasmin, I was on the implant that contains only progesterone. This gave me terrible acne, so I decided to switch to Yasmin as it is renowned for clearing up skin. It worked straight away and has given me the clearest skin I've ever had in my life! People even said my skin looked 'translucent.' This reason alone made me continue taking it for over 3 years. Over the last year, I noticed that I was experiencing very severe premenstrual syndrome with symptoms of irrational anger and being teary and emotional most of the time. This progressed into terrible depression that I have never experienced before. The sadness and dark thoughts were unrelenting. I then switched to Cilique, and since switching, I feel much happier and have a clear head space. This is likely because Cilique has a higher level of estrogen. In summary, I would recommend taking this pill only for a year, 2 years maximum."

For Birth Control "I only lasted on Yasmin for 2.5 weeks. I'm a 29-year-old mommy of 1 and haven't taken birth control in about two years. Without any birth control, my periods were very regular and my acne was moderate. I'm a fitness lover, so I'm very strict with exercise and nutrition, and I keep my weight in check at all times. My OB prescribed Yasmin to treat my ovulation and menstrual cramping and moderate PMS. This pill turned me into someone else entirely. Within the first two weeks, I had acne all over my chin and under my nose. I became extremely moody, weepy, depressed, anxious, paranoid, and jealous. The anxiety made my chest tight, and it was hard to take deep breaths at times. I kept telling my husband when we would go out in public that I felt like I was walking in some sort of 'dream world'-I wasn't really there. ...And the weight gain! I spend 5-6 days in the gym every week and eat very healthy-only splurging on small cheat meals on the weekends. In one week, I gained 4 pounds without changing anything, and my stomach stayed hard and bloated looking-it looked like I was pregnant! On top of all of that, my breasts were sore, and I had breakthrough bleeding starting on week 2. I'll take cramping and PMS any day over the side effects associated with this pill."

For Acne "Yasmin changed my life! For the past year or so, I started breaking out due to hormones (it only happened the week before my period) and getting horrible PMS. About 2-3 days before my period, I would get very irritable and grouchy, to the point where it affected my work and social life. I went to my doctor with these problems, and she recommended Yasmin. The first 6 weeks or so, it was horrible. I broke out even more, gained about 10-15 lbs, and that led to a slight depression. But people told me that is just what happens when your hormones adjust to new birth control? I'm really glad I stuck through because my acne is now completely gone and my PMS levels have decreased by at least 75%, feeling so much better!"

For Birth Control "Started Yasmin around a month ago for treatment of (adrenal) PCOS because of its anti-androgen properties. I'm not one to write anything online, but I desperately searched for reviews when I was going through my initial breakout after starting this contraceptive. The breakout came around 3 or 4 days after I started taking it, and it was horrendous - I won't lie. Painful spots all over my jawline and on my T-zone (which I don't normally get)... However... After about a week, my skin started to clear and has continued to clear since, to the point I am absolutely over the moon with how clear my skin is!! If you're going through this initial breakout - stick at it, girls... it's worth it in the end. Had a few ups and downs emotionally, but nothing compared to other contraceptives. So far, Yasmin, despite a lot of negative stuff online, has suited me."

For Birth Control "I have been on Yasmin for over 15 years. I have never had any issues other than switching from the name brand to the generic. This pill never gave breakouts or adverse reactions. My only issue is that my insurance company refused to cover the cost since it is the name brand. I have tried the generic, and it is not the same. It produced greater PMS symptoms and also gave me hormonal acne. I am now 33 and considering going off the pill altogether in fear of starting something new. Has anyone else stopped Yasmin? If so, could you please share your experience? I am a bit nervous - (not about having a baby) but any side effects from stopping the hormone?"

For Acne "Leaving a review because when I was deciding whether to go on this for my cystic acne, I was obsessed with these reviews. I am very happy with the results. I am on Lucette, the UK equivalent of Yasmin. The first couple of months, my skin did break out more, but over the third packet, my skin has cleared up, and I haven’t got a single cyst except for on my week off, and it disappeared after one night instead of like two weeks. Everyone’s body is different, but for me, I lost weight, got bigger boobs, and clearer skin. I was nervous to start because of the initial bad side effects, which I did get, such as breakouts and bad mood swings, but I’m grateful I went through that now for these results :) hopefully it sticks! Good luck."

For Acne "The first month was the worst. I had the initial breakout everyone talks about. It started to get a little better, then I had another bad breakout right before my sugar pills. I skipped the sugar pills and moved straight on to the second month. Now my skin has basically no breakouts on it, just some scarring and redness from my previous breakouts. I hope my skin continues to look better and not breakout. Yay for month 2!!!"

For Birth Control "I have been taking Yasmin birth control since I was 15. There were a few times when I had stopped taking it because life couldn't afford it at a younger age, and I am so forgetful. I have 2 kids, but I wasn't taking the birth control at those times. From the time I started taking the pill until getting pregnant took about a year. Both times I started taking it again recently, and I've been losing weight. I have lost 10 lbs. It doesn't cause acne. I don't feel lazy or drained taking it. I do recommend this birth control, I think it works great, from regulating a period to not getting pregnant!"

For Acne "I started on Brenda, and it made my mild acne worse. I switched to Yasmin, and it cleared it right up, however, 5 months on, my face has started feeling greasy, and I'm developing small pimples. I don't know if it's just this hot, dry weather. P.S.: I stopped doing a 4-step cleansing and treating routine, as I thought I had no need. So perhaps it's a combination of those two factors."

For Acne "My daughter had moderate acne for 3 years. We tried everything for her, including prescription and non-prescription medications. She was on antibiotics and was ready to try Accutane, but her dermatologist recommended trying Yasmin first. It took 5 months to show significant improvement, but her face is now pretty much clear. She still gets breakouts every now and then, but she went from wearing heavy foundation every day to not having to wear any now. I highly recommend trying this before going into harsher treatments."
