For Birth Control "This pill ruined my life. Before taking this, I had very mild acne. Two weeks into the first pack, and my skin was so bad I wouldn’t leave my house. I’d never experienced anything like it before. My mood swings were crazy, I’d cry constantly for no reason! I became extremely depressed, and I had a very short temper. It killed my energy, made me fat. Oh, and my hair fell out, and I got terrible melasma on my upper lip and nose (which still hasn’t gone away...). My doctor told me to stick it out for three months. I hoped for the best, but on month five, I had to call it quits. I’ve been off of it for six months now, and my skin and mood have slightly improved, but I’m still trying to undo the terrible effects caused by this pill. My skin and hair haven’t been the same since."

For Acne "I do not recommend this pill to anyone. I went on it a week ago because of mild acne due to moving to Asia from Europe - so I started breaking out, and after 2 months of not seeing any results from salicylic acid creams, I decided to try this pill. Oh my God… I thought I had problems with my skin before… now, only after day 4 of taking that pill, I started breaking out absolutely everywhere - places I would never have pimples, my neck, behind my ears, on my forehead… not to mention the cheeks. My face looks like pizza right now, and the only thing that is stopping me from having depression looking at my face right now is that I’m moving back to Europe and will have good water, air, food, etc.. and will see my amazing doctor at the clinic for facials. I am going from perfect skin to pizza skin in only two months makes me feel devastated - I really hope that my doctor will help. And of course, I went off the pill after 1 week. Never again!!!"

For Acne "Changed to Yasmin after using Levest for 2 months and breaking out horribly. It didn't really make a difference, I thought it would just be due to the settling-in period, but I've been on Yasmin for four months now. My skin only started to get better towards the end of the third month. I've only really seen a significant difference now that I've been using Duac for a couple of weeks (I used Duac two years ago to clear my skin). I started using Duac again during my break week, so I didn't know whether using the pill and Duac together would work. A couple of days after I finished my break week, I broke out immediately around my chin (where hormonal acne usually is). Also, although my skin is now almost smooth, it's marked badly!! :("

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Yasmin because I had an irregular menstrual period. Ever since I started using the drug, my period has been regular with no cramps, however, my acne got worse with time. I'm on my third packet, and my face breaks out every other day with cystic acne, which I'm still yet to figure out. During my first month, I had mood swings, was so emotional, feeling nausea a lot with a severe headache, but now I'm better. I just have to stick to the drug since it helps to regulate my period."

For Birth Control "I went on this after having a bad experience with another pill. I had no problems on this one, didn't experience spotting or anything also. I naturally have bad acne and this didn't help one bit, but it was effective BC. My periods were light, and I didn't have cramping. Once I went off, my period came back like a nonstop waterfall, and that's how it's been ever since, which is annoying."

For Birth Control "So I started Yasmin mid-February 2018, and about three weeks in. Initially, I had nausea and breast tenderness, but thought that's okay. Anyway, days go by, and the symptoms get worse. I've had insomnia, a dull headache daily, pelvic pain, and bad fatigue. I literally feel tired as soon as I wake up and can't be asked to move all day. This is definitely all down to the birth control pill, as I've done tests for other things. I told my doctor, who reported I finish the pack and get the IUD instead. However, I won't be getting the IUD, as I don't want any more contraception after all I've been through on them. I was on the mini pill, and I'd say they're better than the combined. Just be careful of acne flares with the mini pill. Good luck, all."

For Acne "I used the generic version for birth control and to control my cystic acne, which had started a few months prior at age 21. The first few months using the pill, I didn't notice many mood-related side effects but experienced pretty severe acne. After about 6 months, my skin had cleared up, but I began experiencing a lot of anxiety and became depressed. I also lost weight around this time, but I'm not sure if this was a direct impact of the pill or a result of the fact that I started working out like crazy to counteract the anxiety I was experiencing. I had started to break out again (cystic acne mainly around my temples and sides of my face), and my mental health (and sex drive!) had just tanked. This persisted until I decided to stop taking the pill after about 10 and a half months of usage; I stopped taking the pill in March 2021, and since then my mood has improved significantly, my sex drive has improved, and my skin has also improved with improvements to my diet and skin care routine."

For Acne "I have taken Yasmin for about 18 months. I was on Dianette, which kept my skin clear for years. Since moving over to Yasmin, my skin went downhill pretty quickly. I can’t say if it’s helping or making it worse, as I don’t know what my skin would have been like had I not taken anything after coming off Dianette. But it certainly hasn’t done anything to clear it, my skin gets worse by the day."

For Acne "I've been on Diane for years now, switching to Yasmin. I hope it goes okay because my concern is really the acne. I'm everyday paranoid if there are some pimples or acne on my face. I hope my body gets used to Yasmin since they stopped prescribing Diane now for health issues."

For Birth Control "Took it for about 4 years, before I had the Diane for some years, which is similar. Now I’m off it for also 2 years, using a copper IUD. Looking back, the Diane had me more depressed. The Yasmin gave me amazing, spotless, and vital skin, bigger boobs, nice, smooth, shiny hair, less peach fuzz on the rest of my body, stable mood, easy periods. The whole last year with the copper IUD has been horrible. In the 2 years without the pill, my boobs shrunk incredibly, my sex drive is less, hair is very hard to manage and has a different structure, my skin has a lot of acne and wrinkles, and the peach fuzz got a lot worse again. Really considering getting back on the Yasmin."

For Birth Control "Ok, yes, birth control will prevent you from having an unwanted pregnancy. But that really is the only benefit, take the pros with the cons when deciding to start birth control pills. You will get acne. You will be so moody all the time and have uncontrollable emotional outbursts. Your confidence will shatter because the hormones make you feel less feminine and more masculine. You will be bloated and hungry all the time. You won't have a sex drive, and your vagina will always be dry. You never ovulate, so you're literally depriving your body of the natural womanly duties. Boobs will hurt all the time. You're at risk of causing blood clots. The list goes on. Since stopping birth control, I have been able to regulate my moods, feel more feminine, and have chosen natural planning instead. Meaning I track my own body and its cycles, avoid sex during peak times, and always use condoms and Plan B as a last resort. Your body will thank you for it, trust me."

For Acne "I am on it as a contraceptive and for acne. I’ve only been on it for 3 months, and it gave me eczema on my face, and my face broke out more than usual. My mood wasn’t affected too much, but I do feel sick all the time."

For Acne "I first started Yasmin after the Nexplanon (the implant), which gave me awful cystic acne on my chin and cheeks. My self-esteem was really low, and it really took a toll on my mental health! I spoke with my provider about switching to Yasmin after reading reviews about how it helps with acne, and after 2 months on Yasmin, my face was clear! It was such a freeing moment, and I stayed on Yasmin for 2 more years until I decided to get off of birth control completely due to it causing low libido and dryness for me. It has been 4 months since I stopped taking Yasmin, and I am now experiencing severe post-pill acne, mostly around my chin and mouth, and it makes me want to take Yasmin again so it will go away lol. But, I will stay strong off it, and hopefully, it will clear up with the help of a dermatologist in the next few months. I recommend this for those hoping to clear acne, but be prepared for post-pill acne if you discontinue its use after only a year or two."

For Acne "I went on this pill for birth control and to minimize acne. Keep in mind that prior to this, I had moderate breakouts once in a while. Going on this pill was the worst experience of my life, I had constant bleeding (3/3.5 out of 4 weeks of the month), and I developed horrible cystic acne. My mood was also terrible, but I'll blame that on the constant bleeding and my horrendous acne. I will say that I did not gain any weight."

For Menstrual Disorders "I started taking this pill because of extremely heavy, painful, and irregular periods. The first six months were great, I had very light bleeding, no cramps, and my periods were very regular. Around my sixth month, I got terrible acne, I only ever had a pimple here and there, and I got cystic acne around my chin and cheeks. Now forward to the ninth month, I've been feeling very depressed, cry all the time, and just feel like a mess. I also suffer from severe nausea. I'm ending this packet, and then I'm switching to a much lighter pill, which will hopefully help me."

For Birth Control "My dears, do not resort to taking Yasmin. Before, I used to wash my hair once a week, sometimes even every 10 days, and had perfect skin. I decided to give Yasmin up because I wanted to let my body get back to normal before trying to get pregnant. After approximately 6 months, I got cystic, painful acne on my temples, chin, neck, back, and cheeks. My scalp started producing so much oil that by the second day it was already greasy. And behold, my hair texture changed: the new hair growth was so frizzy it looked fried. The major downfall was my bones, which started cracking almost every 10 steps. And the anxiety was immense. I had times when I just couldn't control my mind, and I thought I was going mad. It's been a bit over a year, and I'm slowly getting back to normal. I have minor breakouts, my sebum production has gotten easier to manage, but I'm still not completely rid of Yasmin's effects. So please, don't resort to BCP. Find natural ways to cure what needs to be healed. There are also many ways to prevent a pregnancy."

For Acne "I started this pill a month ago and have now just started my second strip. I started this pill as I started to get a few spots on my T-zone and cheeks and wanted to have clear skin. I visited my doctor and she gave me the Yasmin pill, biggest mistake of my life. I have severe acne in all areas of the face, very red and dry, including many black and whiteheads. I seem to have noticed that in my 7-day break, my acne went down quite a bit, so I have decided to stop this pill. Worst experience ever."
