For Birth Control "Worst experience ever. Haven’t even made it through the first pack and have started getting zits, something I never had an issue with, and I also became extremely depressed, another thing I never had. I know they say to wait a bit longer until your body gets used to it, but depression is nothing to wait out and see. I would be afraid if someone who had an underlying mental health issue and this drug could potentially kill them. Use this with caution if you have no other choice."

For Acne "I'm 19 years old, and I have been using Yasmin for 4 months. I started using Yasmin because I saw it was working tremendously for other people. A week after I started, my skin was great, then I had a breakout. It hasn't disappeared since, instead, it's making the rest of my skin lighter. I'm worried whether it is working for me, or I'm just impatient."

For Birth Control "You guys are all freaking me out. I’ve been on Yasmin for 15 years!! I decided to go off it to see if my melasma would go away. But those 15 years were great. Good skin, no issues, or so I thought, none that were related to my birth control. Now you’re telling me it causes anxiety, depression, and even eczema! I suffered from this, not knowing it could have something to do with my birth control. Now I’ve been off it for 3 months, and my skin is an acne nightmare. My hair lady told me my texture was totally different (thinner) and that I had hair loss at my hairline. Hair is greasy, and I’m totally depressed! Not to mention I have no health insurance, so I hope everything is okay internally with blood clots and stuff! I’m freaking out. I thought I liked Yasmin, but if this is what I get for being on it so long, I’m scared."

For Acne "I've just started using Yasmin, now onto my break, and my acne seems to be getting worse, especially on my back and jawline. They're big spots that are painful. And I've read so many reviews saying it gets worse before it gets better, but I'm so depressed about my skin. I really don't know what to do."

For Acne "I went on Yasmin to get better skin for an upcoming event. It was the worst decision I could've made! My skin has never been this bad! My chin is full of cystic acne. Big and red, and they leave terrible scars. I have now been taking them for 2 months, and it only seems to be getting worse. I also have gotten some on my back, which I normally don't. Also, I have had my period now for 2 weeks, with terrible cramps every day! Usually, I only have it for a day or two. I feel a decrease in sex drive and have felt low since I started taking Yasmin. So far, these pills have only been bad for me, but I do believe and hope that the side effects will wear off as I continue using them! Hopefully, this is just a horrible transition phase."

For Acne "I went on this pill as a contraceptive 3 months ago and wasn't suffering from hormonal acne. Since starting with it, I've had constant acne on my chin! My housemate, who has acne, is also on it, and it has completely changed her skin for the better. So, I guess if you aren't suffering from hormonal acne, it's a different trip!"

For Acne "I got really bad acne when I turned 14, and my period wasn't regular. After trying a lot of things, I started taking Yasmin when I was 15, and my acne started to clear up in two to three months of using it. I went off it when I was 17, and the acne came back really badly, so I went back on it until I turned 19. I thought my hormones would be normal by then. I was off Yasmin for 3 months, it seemed to go well, but I didn't get my period at all, and then I started breaking out again, so I'm back on Yasmin since then."

For Acne "Been on Yasmin for 4 years now due to hormone imbalance resulting in irregular periods, acne, and hair loss. With that, I’m on cyproterone acetate for 10 days during my period to remove excess DHT testosterone. Within the first month, my acne disappeared. However, my period is much heavier and more painful now than before I took it. My body doesn’t seem to like Yasmin as my immune system goes on overdrive with Raynaud's syndrome, dry skin, dry tongue, and cluster headaches. Hands turn into paper during the white 7 days of the pill. Joints hurt, even my skin turns red in patchlike forms along my face and neck. Doctor advised I see a specialist as it could be lupus, but that came out negative. Though I meet all the physical features of lupus, my tests are negative. Did anybody ever experience these side effects while on Yasmin? Or is my body just overreacting to the 'additional' hormones?"

For Acne "Have been on Yasmin for over 4 months now to try to improve my acne. I would say my acne has gotten 2-3 times worse than it ever had been in the beginning, and I now have spots where I never did before (all along the lower cheeks, near the jaw area). I have been on Dianette before, and it was amazing, so I shall be going back to it ASAP!!"

For Birth Control "I have been taking this pill for about a month now. Although of the bad reviews I have seen on it, I still decided to try it out. I only have 2 bad things to say about this pill, and it’s that my breasts have been hurting non-stop since taking this pill, as well as it is also known to help acne. I find that my skin has gotten more pimples on my face. Maybe it’s because I’m approaching my period, or maybe it’s just the pill. But my breasts have been non-stop hurting, which is unusual for them to hurt more than 1 week. Other than that, I have not been into a depression like most people or feeling too moody. I’m pretty much always in a good mood. I will try and continue this pill to see where it takes me, but if my breasts still stay like this, I won’t have a choice but to stop taking this pill."

For Acne "I took this pill for four years and experienced severe, debilitating migraines. It ruined my life for those four years. I was told by my doctor that it “couldn’t be the pill.” I finally went to a neurologist who told me to go off it for at least three months. My migraines disappeared, and I never had one again. I had taken other pills and not had any issues. My acne was not much better and definitely not worth the pain and anguish I experienced."

For Birth Control "I just started taking this pill, not yet through the first week, and already I'm covered in acne, which I never had using the IUD. I decided I didn't want the IUD anymore after the five years were up because it poked my partner and is something I can't take out myself. Anyway, Yasmin has caused me crazy acne, like teenager status (I'm 25), and has caused me breast tenderness when I used to feel no tenderness at all. I read the reviews about gaining a cup size... I hope that doesn't happen to me, I already have DDs. We'll see how the next few months play out, but so far NOT IMPRESSED."

For Birth Control "Going on Yasmin was absolutely horrible. I only lasted a week because it made me feel horribly depressed. I felt like crying all the time and just wanted to lie down and stare at the wall. It also made me nauseous all the time. Within a couple of days, I had multiple large zits, and I usually have minimal acne. It also killed my libido. After I stopped the pill, I had two separate periods within a week of each other, and it messed with my hormones so much that I cried every day for a month straight. I will never take this Yasmin ever again."

For Birth Control "This pill is the worst! I gained a lot of weight rapidly on this pill. I feel depressed most days, or I'll have the odd day where I feel amazing out of nowhere before plummeting back down again. My skin has broken out badly since I started taking it as well! I had none of these problems before starting this pill. My body feels disgusting because of this pill - it's not worth taking! Avoid!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Yasmin for 11 months. I switched this year because on Yaz (5 years on it) I was spotting fairly regularly (more in the last 1.5-2 years). So we decided to try this one because it was the next closest to Yaz (just higher estrogen), and I did not do well on Mirena (18 months on it, and I got awful cystic acne along my jawline, I was losing my hair, and getting body hair in weird places lol. I'm not a hairy person, nor do I have acne problems). I love Yasmin, it stopped my spotting, but my sex drive is basically non-existent. My skin is fine, I didn't have any strange side effects other than the decreased libido. It isn't one pill fits all. Don't let the negative reviews scare you, talk to your doctor and pharmacist about what's best for you."

I think it was too strong for me because it made me break out like crazy. I didn't have acne to begin with. I then had a break from the pill (skin cleared up completely from almost the 2nd day of stopping the pill) for about 6 months or so and now have gone back on Yasmin, and my skin has been breaking out like crazy! Lots of small whiteheads on the left side of my face and some in a little section on my right cheek. They're small, but coming up every single day. I'm in the 4th month now, and it hasn't cleared up yet. Help!! :'("

For Acne "Don't ever try this pill. This pill has given me the most horrible experience in my life. There are only negative side effects. I have only taken three months, and my face is full of whiteheads, red lumps, and pimples all over my chin and cheek area. There are still red scars on my face. Horrible. I don't understand why this pill works for others, and to the extreme not on others... Is it because the younger you are, Yasmin is better for you? If you are over 35, then it's so bad for your face?"

For Acne "I’m struggling with whether to continue with this medication. I’m 4+ months in, and my breakouts are the worst they’ve been in a while. Every day I’m waking up with a new spot, and it’s making me feel rubbish. I had a break a while back when I couldn’t get a pill check due to COVID, and I didn’t take the pill for 4-6 weeks, and my skin was clear. I debated restarting but thought I would due to painful periods. I’m 4+ months in, my breakouts are awful, and so are my period pains. No idea what to do."

For Birth Control "I never post on these forums, but it's nice not to feel alone! Started taking Yasmin one month ago for BC. Going to wait it out a couple of months, as that seems to be the best option. I had a TERRIBLE breakout of acne (no major issues in years). I'm on the first lot of sugar pills now, and my skin has calmed down drastically, so I'm hoping it won't break out again. Also, I haven't had any bleeding yet on my 'period' week, but heard this is normal. My boobs feel HUGE and tender, but I haven't noticed any weight gain, possible weight loss, but thanks to my unusually large boobs, I do feel large and heavy. Also, just started to notice some irritability and anxiety. Skipping my period next pack due to a holiday, so curious how that will affect any side effects!"

For Acne "I was prescribed Yasmin to regulate my period as I have recently lost mine for currently unknown reasons. Many people reviewing were prescribed to help with acne, but mine has been mild to none the last few years. Within a week of Yasmin, I had more acne than I've ever had in my life. It lit up my cheeks, around my lips, on my nose, and forehead. Everywhere. I have never been so self-conscious in my life! They never told me this would be a side effect. I do not recommend taking this if you do not struggle with acne!!"
