For Birth Control "I’ve been on Yaz for 9 months. The first 2 made me very nauseous and moody. I stuck it out, and it has positively changed my life. My PMDD is history, thank God! Still have spots though, but being able to live your life again, I’m sure I can put up with my spots :-)"

For Acne "I’ve been on Nikki for 6 1/2 months now. Don’t get discouraged if you read about someone having bad side effects after being on the pill for a week, give the pill time to adjust to your body first. I’ve always been acne-prone, but in Fall of 2020, I started getting severe cystic acne along my neck, jawline, and cheeks. The cysts on my neck were new, so I knew something was wrong internally and did some research and tried Nikki. I didn’t experience any nausea, mood swings, or weight gain :) The first 2 months, I saw no change in my skin. By the end of month 3, I started seeing improvements, and the cysts on my neck were gone. The amount I was breaking out was less, but I was nowhere near clear in month 3 like a lot of people reported. Now I’m 1 week into month 7 and I don’t have 1 bump on my face! I still don’t feel I can say I have CLEAR skin yet because I have a lot of work that needs to be done with scarring and hyperpigmentation, however, I feel healthier, and my face is smooth!"

For Birth Control "I was on Blisovi for over a year and switched to Loryna to treat acne. I would not recommend this pill. I experienced horrible anxiety and nausea. I lost my appetite completely. I was having panic attacks and heart palpitations. It took me about 2 months to realize it was the pill giving me the side effects. I have stopped taking it and feel a lot better."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I'm on day 5 of Loryna, and I am so suicidal I considered going to the hospital. I was trying it for PMDD, I did have success before on Lo Loestrin FE, but I was having side effects of melasma and low libido, so I wanted to try something else. This is awful. I've also had nightmares and nausea since starting it."

For Birth Control "Okay, ladies. Although I know hormones react differently with everyone, I was surprised by all the bad reviews on this pill. I didn’t have any side effects on Nikki other than slight nausea the first week or so. Other than that, everything has been PERFECT, no breakouts, no pregnancy, no long-term nausea (which I have suffered with on other pills). Plus, I get it sent in the mail, and it’s super convenient and affordable."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I started Yasmin as I read that it helped with severe PMS and didn’t cause weight gain. In short, I thought I was dying when taking this. A list of the symptoms I was experiencing, which have gone since I stopped taking it: Extreme fatigue (big into my fitness and I couldn’t do a 10-minute walk at times), extreme emotions (crying, depression) whilst feeling numb and disconnected, joint pain, knees especially, muscle pain and shooting pains in arms and legs. DOMS would last 5 days instead of 1 day. Weight gain - over a stone, constant nausea, night sweats, anxiety and chest pains, regular heart palpitations, declining kidney function, painful, swollen feet, bleeding under the skin, bad headaches, sore eyes and blurred vision, hair loss and brittle, broken nails. Please reconsider taking this pill, I think it’s awful. Now on the copper IUD and I’ll take the very painful periods any day over how I felt on Yasmin."

For Birth Control "I had Paragard for 3 years before switching to Yaz. Paragard was the worst thing I had ever put my body through, and I do not recommend it. Anyway, with the Yaz, the first 1-2 months I was exhausted, dizzy, nauseous, and my sense of smell and taste were heightened, it almost felt like early pregnancy signs. I decided to stick it out for the full 3 months to let my body adjust, and I don't regret it! My acne is gone, my periods are light with mild cramping only lasting 5 days at the most. I had severe PMDD before going on Yaz, and now I still get emotional, of course, but it's helped control my severe mood swings so much. Yaz has done everything my doctor told me it would do for me and more! PS: I did not gain weight on this pill."

For Birth Control "I've been on Ocella for about 4 months now, after being on Microgestin for 4 years. I don't have too many complaints with either, although I will say that my skin is far clearer on Ocella than it ever was on Microgestin. My periods on Ocella are quite light and last only 4-5 days; cramps are usually mild. No headaches, nausea, mood swings, or noticeable change in sex drive, which seem to be a problem for a lot of other women. Also, I actually dropped a couple of pounds after starting Ocella with no lifestyle or diet change. My only concern is that I do have a history of ovarian cysts, which Microgestin effectively quashed; only time will tell whether or not Ocella causes any change. I'm 23 years old, otherwise healthy."

For Birth Control "Upon requesting a Yaz prescription from my doctor, I was initially concerned as I was very nauseous and threw up a few times in the morning during the first week. Nonetheless, I remained on Yaz, and I am certainly glad that I did. I do not suffer from any acne with the exception of the couple of days preceding my period (minor and unpreventable chin acne due to hormones/menstruation). It's highly effective in preventing pregnancy, and I have not noticed any weight gain. In fact, I felt thinner when I first began taking it. I do not experience any physical pain or health issues (I recently turned 21, I do not smoke, and I am very slim and active). Overall, Yaz is great."

For Acne "All side effects (headache, nausea, crazy emotions, spotting) went away after my first month on Yaz. I saw improvement in my skin after just a week, and my skin was completely clear after 4 months. I didn’t gain any weight, but the only thing is that I am always thirsty. I would recommend this pill to everyone who is struggling with acne."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I've been on Yaz for almost two years now, and I wouldn't change it for anything. It was my first birth control, and I love it. I take it at night at a set time, and it doesn't cause any side effects, such as nausea. I recommend Yaz to everyone. It really does work!"

For Birth Control "I have been on Yasmin for 5 years, since I was 16. I stopped it for a few months (I switched jobs and lost my insurance). In that time, I went to a clinic and was given their low-cost birth control pills. Once I got back on Yasmin, I stopped having breakthrough bleeding, headaches, nausea, and everything in between. So, of the two or three birth control brands I have tried, Yasmin is by far the best."

For Birth Control "I've been using Yaz for almost two months, and I won't be continuing with this pill. Almost immediately after I changed from Qlaira to Yaz, I noticed my anxiety levels rising. I'm not one to constantly worry and have always had this joy for life, but not since taking Yaz. I don't even feel like waking up and doing what I love. My sex drive is very, very, very low, and I'm very dry down there. I'm very moody and fight with my fiancé on a daily basis. My breasts have gone up an entire cup size, and they are really tender. I have severe abdominal pains and nausea. I cannot wait to start a different pill."

For Birth Control "I have used this since it was Yazmin, and for the most part, it certainly helps, but one huge thing I absolutely hate about this medicine is how emotional it makes me. I took a break from it for a couple of years to try other methods of helping my PCOS symptoms since I wasn't worried about pregnancy. When I started up again, I really started noticing the major symptoms again. Nausea is present for me personally for the whole first month and again the first couple of days of each new pack. I cry at EVERYTHING HAPPY OR SAD. This I particularly hate because it's not the cute little one tear or two, it's full-on ugly, nose running, eyes swelling kind of crying. It's basically like going through puberty every. single. month. I will say in the positive category, it really helps keep my acne under control, and my cyst formation is really low. So if you want to roll the dice on the mood swings, it's a pretty good pill."

For Birth Control "My cycles are regulated now, which is nice, but the part that is driving me crazy is my nipples hurt so bad around the same time every month. I feel nausea, heartburn, same symptoms as a pregnancy. I am going to use it for one more month, and if it doesn't go away, I am switching."

For Birth Control "I started Yaz about 7 months ago because I had found out that I had developed ovarian cysts. I had been on Yaz for two years as a teenager and had side effects, but I didn’t notice them as much as this time. Over the time I had taken Yaz, I had developed low mood, temperament, and a bad attitude towards everything. The change was so slow that it wasn’t obvious that it wasn’t me and not the pill. On my last month, I took this pill, I had just started a new job and had to quit after one day because of extreme nausea and anxiety I was experiencing. Other side effects I experienced on Yaz were depression, suicidal thoughts, withdrawn, violent (kicking in a wall), angry, argumentative, irritable, extreme nausea, dizziness, hypoglycemia (if I don’t eat every 3 hours I would get nauseous), and no motivation to do anything, random pain in the legs, jealous of others, tired all the time, foggy head, crying all the time, and distrust of people. Please be aware."

For Birth Control "I have been on Yasmin for 5 days so far, and I have had constant nausea, and in the past day have also experienced vomiting. Almost gives morning sickness-type symptoms. I will try and get to the end of the 21 days as advised by my pharmacist, but if this does not stop, I will definitely be coming off this pill. It is such a shame, as I really wanted this to work to clear up my skin and regulate periods."

For Birth Control "I moved on to Yasmin because I was looking for a pill to sort out my cystic acne. At first, my skin cleared up and my boobs got much bigger (which I loved). After a few months, though, I started to feel exhausted and nauseous most afternoons. I felt like I was pregnant, and it just didn’t let up! I also started to get horrendous period pains that resulted in black/dark red discharge for days at a time! I had multiple tests done at the doctors, but he couldn’t explain my symptoms. Then, however, the worst side effect of all kicked in... hair loss! This was extreme, every time I touched my hair, I would pull out clumps! I stopped taking Yasmin straight away, and it took about 3 months for my hair to stop falling out. I think I lost about 1/3 of my hair in total, and it was one of the scariest times of my life. For anyone who is suffering hair loss, stop taking Yasmin, and IT WILL STOP and IT WILL GROW BACK! Stay positive, it’s never as bad as you think it is."

For Birth Control "So I started Yasmin on December 29, 2016, and began taking it regularly at 7:30 PM to avoid unwanted nausea that's often reported by women who take it early in the morning. The first week was fine, the second week made me awfully depressed, but I noticed clearer skin, and the third week brought along frequent urination, which frightened me because that's a symptom of pregnancy. But then with some online research, I found out that Yasmin definitely has a diuretic side effect that causes frequent urination. Instead of retaining the water (which causes bloating), frequent urination assisted in preventing bloating. In the third week, I had withdrawal bleeding 3 days into the inactive pills, which lasts about 5 days."

For Birth Control "So, overall, Yasmin has been pretty good! I was pretty put off by all of the reviews, but I decided to give it a go because everybody is different! Let's start with the positives- I feel less stressed about pregnancy (I still use condoms just in case, though), my acne has stayed the same as it was when I took pills just for acne-providing I have a good routine. Negatives- I had quite a lot of nausea which comes and goes but overall is manageable but can make me quite tired! I had a lot of spotting and bleeding, but I didn't find it much of an issue apart from the fact that I have to wear pads all the time. Sometimes I was a bit achy-especially my boobs, but they definitely got larger! Before taking Yasmin, I had been diagnosed with depression and anxiety, and my biggest concern about taking Yasmin was that I'd heard it makes your mental health worse, but for me, it has stayed the same with sometimes feeling a bit more emotional over small things, but it's manageable!"

For Birth Control "I have PCOS and struggle with mood swings, hair loss, and pretty severe hirsutism. I have had a lot of success with Yasmin for all of the above. The most notable and stable difference comes after the 6-month mark. My body and facial hair grow back thinner and at a much slower pace, my mood is very stable, and I don't lose anywhere near the same amount of hair from my scalp. I also have easy and comfortable periods, and my appetite is very stable on Yasmin, which I can't say about other pills. I haven't put on any weight as a result. The first 2 weeks of being on Yasmin can be difficult (nausea, headaches), and I don't recommend it for very sedentary/very unfit ladies, as the risk of clotting is slightly higher because of its Drospirenone content."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I tried to take Beyaz again, which was the only birth control I liked ever. My insurance refuses to cover it, so I figured a Yaz generic would be similar enough. I firmly believe what's in this generic is not at all the same as the original. How could the same exact medicine affect me so negatively? I took this for two weeks and felt like I was physically having a panic attack all the time. I got this to help me during my hardest time of the period (right before I get it) and spent these past two weeks losing my mind. I do not even believe the positive reviews on this site are legitimate. I was tired, hungry, nauseous, and unable to do my daily tasks. No sex drive. I tried taking it at night to combat these negative things. No escape. Don't take it."

For Acne "Actually, I am still on the first month, and I can tell I barely have side effects. In the first week, I had nausea, but it went away. There is no effect on my weight. Also, I don't have increased appetite. My hair also has not changed. I take the pill in order to cure my acne. I can tell through the first month there is no increasing or worsening of my skin situation before getting better. I think it is going to help me treat my acne very well, and I am waiting for results."

For Acne "I have never been on any pill. My acne was getting really severe, so my doctor suggested Tri-Cyclen Lo. The first two months on Tri-Cyclen Lo made me get cystic breakouts, and I was miserable. I finally switched my birth control to Gianvi, this has been the best alternative to cleaning my skin. I haven't had any negative side effects, and my skin is finally clear! The only downside is the increase in appetite. I haven't gained any weight, I live a healthy lifestyle-eat clean and work out regularly. But I'm constantly hungry! Besides that, my skin looks its best that it has in years! Now I only need to get rid of my blemishes. I would highly recommend Gianvi, your period is light, and you don't experience nausea or mood swings."

For Birth Control "This was one of the worst experiences of my life. Women who have a history of anxiety and depression should be warned not to take the Gianvi contraceptive pill. It made me have horrifying panic attacks and an episode of depression. I felt very drowsy, constantly nauseous, and fatigued. I am not on any other type of medication and have a very active, healthy lifestyle. This pill was like poison for the whole body. I am so angry I wasn’t warned about all these very serious side effects."
