For Birth Control "I have been on Sprintec and Zovia, and I never, ever had a problem with birth control. I asked my doctor to switch to Nikki (or generic) because I was not getting my period every month with Zovia, and it was kind of freaking me out because I am sexually active, and that’s how I know if I am in the clear. Once she switched me to Loryna, I was very miserable. My mood was insane, I was crying and annoyed at any little thing. I had no control of my emotions. My stomach was also so messed up, and I had a splitting headache. I know birth control is different for everyone, but damn, I have never felt a reaction like this. I'm switching back to Zovia immediately."

For Birth Control "Since they discontinued Vestura, they switched me (without my prior knowledge) to Loryna. My anxiety is higher, and I have about 5-8 pounds of water weight/bloat that I can't get rid of. I'm no saint with eating, but I can usually reduce calories and be back at my normal weight- not now. I'm calling my doctor today; I've been on it three months, and it hasn't gotten any better."

For Menstrual Disorders "DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE. Seriously, just don't. It's poison. I have PCOS and was prescribed Yaz back in high school (I am 24 now, so 8+ years later). Yaz made me an emotional disaster, even having suicidal thoughts and fits of rage. I went on Lo-Estrin & had great results before discontinuing after 5 years. Fast forward to now, and my new doctor prescribed me this. It was worse than Yaz. I would cry for hours at a time. I was so anxious and irritable. I was absolutely awful to my partner. I wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy, 0/10."

For Birth Control "It took me a few tries to get the right birth control for my body, and once I found Loryna, it was perfect! All my acne disappeared, I went from an AA cup to a B cup in bra size, and it made my painful and irregular periods go away and made them bearable and regular. I never had any mood swings, just normal PMS like everyone has. Slight weight gain, but it went away after a month. This pill also goes well with the anxiety medication I take, so I highly recommend it."

For Acne "So far, I've only been on Loryna for a month now, but I think I need to find a new brand. I was prescribed this because my acne has been terrible for the past 6 months, and since going on it, nothing has gotten any better, in fact, my chin actually looks worse. However, my biggest problem is the mood changes. I snap at everything, and I'm always angry. I'm never like this, I've always had an amazing relationship with my parents, and since going on the pill, they've threatened to kick me out because of how bad my mood has been. Additionally, since going on the pill, I've had my period the entire month. I'm not sure if that is normal or not, but I'm tired of all the negative side effects."

For Birth Control "I have been on Loryna for 6 years now. I also have been on birth control since I was 17 and now 26, with no breaks. I have no periods ever or spotting. My face is clear normally. No weight gain at all, I lose weight more than gain. I have read mixed reviews about this birth control, it can be good or bad. I have had no problems with the pill unless I forget to take it one day, then I may break out with pimples. I enjoy this birth control due to no problems. I recommend trying it, if it does not work, get off of it. Most birth controls are not good for you anyway, it's not healthy, but being a woman, we all need it for many different reasons."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I took the Loryna birth control for approximately 3 months. I stopped taking it because of my insurance being terminated due to job loss. Here's my 3-month journey with Loryna birth control pill: On the first month taking this medication, I experienced a very, very painful, clotty, and heavy, long-lasting period. It lasted 2 days longer than my usual flow, totally 7 days (I normally bled for 5). During this time frame, I experienced severe PMDD symptoms. Despite that, I still continue to keep taking it. On my second month experience, it was a whole lot simpler and my period was regular again. Also, my PMDD symptoms were not as severe. I still had some sorrow and weeping, but no anger or fear. By the third month, I realized I wasn't suffering from proctalgia fugax symptoms at all (most likely due to the birth control preventing ovulation). It's been almost a month now of being birth control-free and I really don't miss ovulating. I never experience any prolonged bleeding. I rate this as 8."

For Birth Control "So I started bc yesterday... no joke, I'm hormonal as heck! Even typing this makes me want to cry. I mean, I'm a small woman, 21, 4'11, and I kind of expected to be like this. My doctor said it tricks my brain into thinking it's pregnant so that certain parts of my body stop working. Like, in this case, the inflammation that causes my deadly cramps. Now I'm new to this whole birth control, but I think it's normal to feel sad and gain weight and all that because of what women go through during pregnancy. So though it makes me feel super tired, it's kind of a good thing because, get this: I'm an insomniac, haha. These mood swings are laughable - when I catch myself crying because I didn't share my sandwich with my two dogs. Long story short, I'm hoping this works."

For Birth Control "Weird - was on Yaz (brand name) for over a year and had absolutely no issues. Switched to the generic version and was given Loryna. Quickly I started to get tons of freckles all over my body (very odd side effect). In addition, my legs started swelling. It is different than Yaz!"

For Birth Control "It completely worked for birth control. Even if I forgot to take it for a couple of days, I never had a pregnancy. But the past 2 1/2 years I started to break out badly, and I would feel a pain in the opening of my vagina during sex. It literally felt like I had a cut in a certain spot. I had it checked out immediately by my gynecologist, and he couldn't figure it out. I stopped sex for up to a month to see if it was something that needed to heal, and it never went away. It was so painful I would almost cry every time, and it made me scared to have sex. I never once thought it could be the pill, but I recently stopped taking it just to take a break, and that pain went away in a week! And I also got pregnant within a month of stopping too."

For Birth Control "I have been on a generic form of Yaz for about 3 years. I have switched from Vestura to Nikki and then to Loryna. Once on Loryna, I noticed my hair began to lose life and then ultimately began to drastically thin. I do NOT recommend this product."

For Birth Control "I was on Gianvi for 3 months and had to switch to Loryna because I had to switch pharmacies, and they didn’t carry Gianvi. I’ve been on it for a little over a month, and I wake up so hungry. I feel like I’m starving, I’m so hungry. Like I have to eat in that very moment. Also, my overall appetite is increased like crazy. I always have to snack or eat. So far, I haven’t gained any weight, but I could definitely see how it’s a possibility. Overall, it’s an okay birth control. I’ve definitely been on worse."

For Birth Control "I will start this off by saying everyone's body is different, and I am thrilled for the people this drug worked for! However, that was not the case for me. Switched from Blisovi to Yaz and finally to Loryna due to insurance issues, and have never felt worse than I have while on Loryna. While taking this drug, I experienced depression, hypomanic episodes, crying spells throughout the day, decreased sex drive, and really just not liking the world. I know it takes a while to adjust, but after only 1 week on this pill, I have thrown my entire supply in the trash can. Take this review with a grain of salt and don't be scared to try it, but if you start experiencing PMS symptoms all day, every day, just throw them away, not worth it when there are so many other options out there. Good luck, guys."

For Birth Control "I was on this BC for three months (they tell you to wait three months to test it out). The first month consisted of horrible mood swings and headaches. For the past two months, I have been bleeding brown blood discharge daily, and my acne has gotten ten times worse. I had acne before I started Loryna, but by the third month mark, I had cystic acne on my chest and back. PAINFUL acne. I am going to my gyno tomorrow to switch."

For Birth Control "After taking Loryna, I was diagnosed with blood clots on my lungs, causing a pulmonary embolism. This caused my heart to go into overdrive. I had shortness of breath, dizziness, nausea, and chest pain. I was in the hospital for 3 days and now on blood thinners for 6 months minimum. I just got home today."

For Birth Control "I was on the implant for 3 years after getting diagnosed with PCOS. I bled constantly. I had a horrible mood, acne, etc. My OBGYN uses this for 'her PCOS girls' and pretty much has had success with all. This pill has changed my life. Anyone experiencing PCOS, look into L."

For Menstrual Disorders "The good: I started taking Loryna about 6 weeks ago. I have endometriosis. I have since had one menstrual cycle that was normal and virtually painless (yay!). Concerns: Has anyone experienced dizziness or slight vertigo more easily after starting this pill? I have been on a few different BC pills for 20 years, but I don't quite remember this feeling. Looking down at something I'm reading or doing downward dog pose repeatedly or for longer durations makes me feel dizzy and nauseous. My breasts are tender and sore (that took 5 weeks to kick in!), and my face is breaking out all of a sudden. If you've taken this and had dizziness/nausea easily, please let me know what you did to help stop it! Or whether I should stop the pill?"

For Acne "If I could give this generic a 0, I would. I began birth control (Apri to Loryna) for my chest acne, but it isn't helping. I switched from Apri to Loryna because of an emptiness, as though I felt like I was dead inside. However, Loryna has made it worse! It was fine the first couple of months, but as I started my 3rd pack, I began having anxiety attacks (never had them) and a worse feeling of emptiness. I'm constantly overthinking everything, and little things bug me so much more than usual! I had hip surgery during my last pack, so maybe the other drugs I took were causing my body to freak out, but that should have no effect for this month. I'm 19, and I'm concerned it will affect my relationship with my boyfriend soon!"

For Acne "I started this birth control about 2 weeks ago for my acne, PMS, endometriosis. I've been on multiple different pills and have only found one that has worked perfectly for me (Mononessa), but sadly they discontinued it a couple of months ago. I'm on my second week of Loryna pills and I'm already having to stop taking it. People are already telling me that I'm not acting like myself. I've been crying all week, moody, even suicidal, which is not like me at all. I've had some nausea, but not terrible, but my acne has gotten 10 times worse within a week and I have cysts on my face, and even body acne on my back and chest. My anxiety has also been through the roof and my ears ring multiple times a day when they didn't before. I don't recommend this birth control at all."

For Birth Control "I was on Loryna for about a year and a half! I started taking it because of extremely painful periods and as a form of protection. Before, I would have to stay home for the first three days of my period because the cramps would be so bad that I couldn’t move, and I’d cry for most of the day and sometimes vomit. Taking pain meds did not help. After going on Loryna, the cramps didn’t get that much better. But I was at least able to go places, and they only lasted about a day and a half. I was also able to get more relief through pain meds. So it did make it more bearable, and I also had no pregnancy scares, so that’s good! But I also became extremely emotional at all times, as in crying at basically everything, so that was kinda annoying. I didn’t experience any other side effects, though. I ultimately had to go off it because I just couldn’t remember to take it every day, lol."

For Menstrual Disorders "I had such a horrible experience with this birth control. The first week was fine. Week 2 to month 2, I bled the entire time, and it wasn't breakthrough bleeding, it was full-on period for two months. As soon as I stopped it, within 4 days, I completely stopped bleeding. I only give it two stars because it helped my light acne. This birth control is horrible for trying to regulate or stop periods."

For Acne "I went on Loryna with little experience with birth control - mainly just wanting a contraceptive but also hoping to clear the hormonal acne I'll occasionally get. I'm only on week 3, but I can't go any further with it. I'm like the walking dead; constantly tired and in a zombie state. The worst part, though, is the HORRIBLE acne it gave me. I've had hormonal acne in the past, but never in my life this bad. It's practically covered my ENTIRE face, including one the size of a quarter on my forehead. It looks like I'm about to grow a horn. It's just painful, and my confidence has plummeted because of it. Terrible stuff - I can't stick it out for three months to see if it even improves because of how bad it is."

For Birth Control "I was taking Nikki for almost a year and was having great luck. Less PMS, little to no bleeding every month, no acne, much fewer migraines. The pharmacy switched me to Loryna, and my migraines began almost immediately. I now have 10 migraines a month, fatigue, PMS, and major bleeding. I am now struggling to find a pharmacy that carries Nikki tabs. I have had to start taking migraine prevention pills."

For Birth Control "First of all, this pill will make you think you are pregnant by giving you all the symptoms of pregnancy. I had breakthrough bleeding for over a week, and I just today stopped taking this birth control because of it. It made me depressed again. It made me uncontrollably mad for no reason, I just can’t control my anger. So, time to switch to a different one."

For Birth Control "Loryna cleared up my acne and made me gain 5 pounds. However, the worst side effect is at the start of the first few pills of the new pack, I end up waking up in the middle of the night and projectile vomiting. The vomiting isn’t worth it. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else trying this medicine."
