For Acne "I think Loryna is a good birth control! I was VERY nervous to start it because of all the bad reviews. But birth control affects everyone differently! I was previously taking Junel 1.5/30, and it was making me very hungry, and I was gaining a bit of weight. It was also making me unmotivated (also may have been because of the pandemic and everything going on in the world), but nothing too drastic. Junel was just an 'ehh' type of pill. Then I switched to Loryna, and I noticed the first day of taking it, I felt a little sensitive and a little more moody. But the moodiness went away the second day. I saw a lot of reviews about nausea, but I DID NOT experience nausea. I also look A LOT LESS bloated! I also weighed a few pounds less! My skin is nice and clear, and I feel good! I think Loryna is a good pill, it helps clear up your skin, and it's good if you don't want to gain weight. Loryna also helped with the vaginal itchiness in my pubic area from my previous pill (from the high estrogen dose)."

For Acne "I was a little nervous about switching to Loryna after seeing all the mixed reviews, but I am so glad I did. Within the first 2 months, I already had the clearest skin I've had since childhood. Even after warning my boyfriend that I might be moody or not in the mood after switching, I saw none of these negative side effects. Medications never act the same way for every person, but this worked wonders for me."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Loryna for 2 months now, and it's honestly been the best birth control pill I've taken. I've tried the implant, shot, and patch before. The implant and shot made me lose 20 pounds, and the patch made me very nauseous and made me throw up constantly. So I said, let me try something else. I read many bad reviews on this birth control, but everybody is different. I'm happy I didn't let the bad reviews stop me from trying. The first week on this, I did have headaches/migraines, but they went away. In the third week, I did get cramps here and there. This pill boosted my mood during the first month. I'm now almost done with month two. I did notice that for one week straight, I was extremely moody during my second month of taking birth control, but now I'm fine. I take my birth control every night before bed."

For Acne "Was on Nikki, which was great, but getting my prescription through Nurx, which seems to send any extra inventory of whatever birth control they happen to have on hand. Have been on Loryna (the generic Nikki) for 3 weeks and have had cystic, horrible acne all over my chin for the last 2 weeks, and it is also on my chest to the point where I can't wear any shirt that shows an ounce of chest skin. Luckily, it's winter. I've had breakthrough bleeding but started my full-blown super tampon period yesterday. Mid pill pack? Have also been depressed, moody, and angry. I've had bad skin the majority of my life and been through the whole rigmarole, including over-the-counter meds, every prescription topical, all the antibiotics, being on antibiotics for years at a time, birth control, spironolactone, Accutane, laser treatments, red and blue light therapy, no dairy, no sugar, no food at all, etc., etc., etc. Accutane is the only thing that calmed my skin some. But now on Loryna, I feel like my skin has reverted back to being like before I did all my acne treatments."

For Birth Control "Nurx switched me from Nikki to Loryna, and so far, I’m noticing that my temper is very short. I used to be a pretty calm person, but three weeks into this, I’m getting extremely angry over trivial things and just don’t feel all that great. No issues with acne or weight gain, but the bad mood part is just incredibly noticeable. I’ve also started waking up multiple times during the night, which has never been an issue for me either. I would say, if you can handle being angry a lot and poor sleep, then Loryna is okay, but I personally do not like it."

For Menstrual Disorders "This birth control made my life a living hell. First, my emotions went out of control. I was always moody, terribly anxious, and started to become depressed. Following this came the real reason why I am writing this review. I went on this birth control to help with my irregular and heavy periods. When the day came, I never experienced cramps so painful in my life. The only thing that I can compare it to is when I had to have an emergency appendectomy because it was about to explode. With this, my period was the heaviest it has ever been and has been going on for 2 weeks now. This pill did much more harm than good for me and I would never suggest it to someone."

For Birth Control "This pill is just absolutely awful. When I got on it, I had been told that it was the same as my last pill, so I figured it would be okay, but it really wasn’t. On Mylan, I’m moody, I can admit that. On Loryna, I’m constantly angry and annoyed. I wake up in the morning always mad, and I hate it. This pill made it so much worse. On my other pill, my period was a nice, respectable 5 days, but on this one, it lasted well over two weeks. I haven’t noticed any other ill side effects, but most everyone who I have seen seems to hate this pill. If you have the choice, I wouldn’t recommend this at all. I was on Mylan for maybe a year before they switched me to this one, and I have to say if they give it to me again, I’m stopping birth control altogether. On my last pill, I was fine. If it works for you, great. However, I can’t say it’s the same for me. If it’s “the same,” it shouldn’t give you awful side effects. I can’t wait 5 more months."

For Acne "I really wanted to like this birth control. It cleared up my acne significantly, and my period was light and around two days. Unfortunately, about a month and a half into it, I started itching like crazy. Anywhere I scratched, little red bumps would come to the surface of my skin. I had no idea what was going on and thought I was allergic to my new deodorant, and it took me about two weeks to decide to go to the doctor. She told me I was the second person to come in on the same BC with the same problems! She had me immediately stop taking it, and the itching stopped within the next couple of days. Another note, this BC did make me extremely moody. So maybe it was for the best I was allergic to it!"

For Acne "I’ve been on Loryna for 6 years, and it’s great. I used to have awful, painful periods with heavy bleeding that would leave me crying in bed, unable to move at 16 years old. I started on a different pill, can’t remember what, and it was awful. It made me moody and didn’t help. I switched to Loryna and saw almost an immediate difference. It cleared my skin right up for the most part, I would only get a zit or two per period, nothing major. And it made my cramps go away almost completely, plus made my period so light and only lasts 3-4 days (but it’s so light I can use one panty liner all day long on the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th day if I spot a bit towards the end). I’ve had these continuous results since I started, and I love this pill. I would 10/10 recommend it to anyone looking to start on the pill."

For Acne "I had tried just about everything for acne, from topical creams to antibiotics. I had been on various different antibiotics for acne over the past four years and was ready to stop always taking antibiotics that never truly cleared my skin fully anyway. It's my second month on Yaz, and I've noticed improvement in my skin without taking the antibiotics. The first month, I had a pretty bad breakout, mood swings, bad cramping, and cravings. I noticed a sort of constant breast tenderness and swelling, but especially so nearing my period. My sex drive has also significantly decreased, and in the first month, I would actually cry for no reason at all (moodiness). The best part is that my insurance covers this completely. I pay nothing out of pocket."

For Acne "I started this birth control about 2 weeks ago for my acne, PMS, endometriosis. I've been on multiple different pills and have only found one that has worked perfectly for me (Mononessa), but sadly they discontinued it a couple of months ago. I'm on my second week of Loryna pills and I'm already having to stop taking it. People are already telling me that I'm not acting like myself. I've been crying all week, moody, even suicidal, which is not like me at all. I've had some nausea, but not terrible, but my acne has gotten 10 times worse within a week and I have cysts on my face, and even body acne on my back and chest. My anxiety has also been through the roof and my ears ring multiple times a day when they didn't before. I don't recommend this birth control at all."

For Birth Control "I was on Yaz for about a year and decided to try the generic because of the cost of Yaz (about $60 a month, but had to pay $180 upfront for 90-day prescriptions). They gave me Loryna, and I've only been on it for 3 weeks, and I'm feeling miserable! I have extreme fatigue, irritability, moodiness, and a little breast pain. I know they say to give the pill 2-3 months to work, but I don't know if I can handle another 2 more months of these emotions. I've tried A LOT of generic bc pills in the last 5 years since they discontinued the one I was on, and I've had problems on all of them. Sometimes those generic 'inactive' or 'filler' ingredients really do have an impact, be careful and wary of your side effects!! I'm going back on the brand Yaz."

For Birth Control "My OB chose Loryna for contraception after I had my baby. I didn’t really know anything about it before I started taking it. My insurance filled a three-month supply. Then, when I picked up my next three-month supply, it was a different kind. Different brand, everything. Then, when I picked up for the third refill, they switched back to Loryna. Now that I switched to something else and back again, I’ve noticed that this pill makes me moody as heck. I thought it was just normal hormone fluctuations after having my baby 8 months ago, but it’s definitely this pill."

For Acne "I have been on it for 6 weeks, and I've been gaining flare-ups. I also lost some weight, about 7 lbs. I've been very sensitive and moody. It hasn't really done anything for my acne, so I’m confused where this clear skin is at? The first time I tried birth control to clear my acne, it worked instantly. I’m not going to continue for the 3 months because it’s making my acne worse, flaring up uglier pimples, and the purging face is already over, so I’m confused … Good luck if you want to try Loryna. It didn't work for me."

For Birth Control "I have endometriosis, only hormonal acne, and Loryna is the best! I used to have extremely painful periods, but now I don't have a period at all and no acne whatsoever. I didn't notice weight gain at all or really any change in my mood. Obviously, the first 1-3 months were a bit emotional and moody, but after that, it's been great! I've been on it for about 7-8 months now, take the pill every night at bedtime, and I skip the white pills so I don't have a period. But there is one downside, I have zero sex drive. I'm 20, in a great healthy relationship, and normally have a pretty high sex drive with my partner. Now I'm bone dry all the time, and it is very rare when I get in the mood. I want to have sex, however, my body and brain just do not react or get in the mood the way they used to. One more thing to mention from my experience, my body does have to have a period every 3-4 months. I spot for a week and must stop to have a natural period. This is okay with me, but others might not like that."

For Birth Control "Got on Loryna after giving Tri-Sprintec a go. I mainly got on birth control for my acne, and neither really helped in that department. I’ve been on Loryna for 3 months now and still get cystic acne, I think even more so than before, all over my chin and cheeks (before starting BC, my acne was only limited to my chin). In my first couple of weeks on Loryna, I also experienced heartburn, nausea, moodiness, extreme fatigue, and bigger boobs (which is the only good side effect, lol). Since then, I still experience some spotting, but other than that, no side effects. Your body will likely adjust after time. But my acne never got better. As far as weight gain - don’t trust the reviews. If you take care of your body, stay active, and eat right, you will not gain weight. I did not experience weight gain, but I’m an extremely active person and eat well. Although it was a little hard to be as active during the first 2 weeks due to the fatigue, which eventually went away."

For Birth Control "Take the pill with food, do not take it on an empty stomach. The side effects are strong, dizzy, moody, and others. I lost weight with this pill, compared to others."

For Acne "I personally think everyone should try it! I was hesitant due to reviews, but I’ve been on it for a month, and after a year of struggling with hormonal acne, I think trying this was worth it. The first two weeks, I was a little more moody than usual and kind of nauseous, but that has gone away! My skin is clearing, but as I’ve only been on for a month, it’s not completely clear yet. I’m excited to see what a couple of months does for my skin! Birth control was my last resort, but I couldn’t get the hormonal acne to stop even after visiting the derm many times."
