For Birth Control "It's been 4 months on this pill, and the 2nd month was probably the worst. I had nonstop spotting for a week. After that month, however, I had much lighter, shorter periods. Appetite: noticeably increased, not sure if BC or cold weather or holiday season. Weight: no noticeable change. Energy: no noticeable change. Mood: no noticeable change. Negative symptoms: headaches/migraines, temporary spotting one month. Positive symptoms: shorter period, significantly less acne."

For Birth Control "I was on this for less than 2 years. It cleared my acne and had no bad side effects until about a year and a half in. I couldn’t breathe and had horrible chest pain. Couldn’t walk 2 minutes without having to sit down and catch my breath. I am 21 years old and have never had a kid or miscarriage. It formed a saddle pulmonary embolism in my lungs, and I was in the ICU. I was told I would have died if I would’ve gone in a day later. I am now having to take a life-threatening blood thinner 2x a day. Don’t take Loryna."

For Acne "I've been using Loryna for about 4 years, and it has done wonders for my acne. I used to have cystic acne all over my face, and I haven't had cystic acne in several months. I think I only had one flare-up over the past year and a half. I was planning to go on Accutane, so glad I didn't. Haven't gotten pregnant either. Win-win!"

For Birth Control "I have been on Loryna (Yaz generic) for 5 months now and have had nothing but a great experience. I lost weight with this pill, had my PMDD disappear, and have had ZERO side effects. It’s helped me immensely without even knowing I needed it. Please don’t let any review of this pill scare you away. It may not work for everyone, but it’s definitely worth a shot if your provider prescribes it for you."

For Birth Control "I have been on four different birth control pills in the past 2 years. I got on Loryna about 6 months ago, and absolutely love it. It has completely gotten rid of my acne, and my periods are only 2 days now, with very little almost no cramps or pain. I used to have terrible breakouts, and nothing would prevent or help them. This birth control cleared my skin up the 2nd week I was on it, and I have had maybe a few zits here and there (3 or 4), but they usually go away right away. Other birth control pills gave me mood swings, messed with my periods, or made my acne worse. So glad when I switched to a new doctor, she put me on this. It is the best!"

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I recently started taking birth control for my PMDD, and this is my second pack (Gianvi with my 1st, Loryna for the 2nd). I'm also diagnosed with GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) with panic disorder and depressive symptoms. When I was taking Gianvi, I had no anxiety or mood swings, a short period that lasted 4 days (it used to be 7-9), and my relationship with people, especially my boyfriend, was stable. It's only been my third week of using Loryna, and my anxiety and depression are back. I break out easily, I've been feeling this terrible ache in my lower abdomen, and I've been constantly arguing with my boyfriend. I'm definitely calling my doctor to change prescriptions!!!"

For Menstrual Disorders "I switched from Lo Loestrin Fe because it made me stop having periods and made me nervous that I was pregnant because I didn't get my period. I switched to Loryna, and my periods came back and weren't irregular anymore, fairly light, and less cramps. I have barely any acne besides some occasional acne on my backside. I've been having mood swings, low and high periods that last a week or so. It started affecting my relationship in a negative way, and I've had more anxiety attacks than I did without it. Didn't make me gain weight at all, although it did make my depression a bit worse. I recommend this birth control but advise being careful, and if you notice it taking a toll on your mental health, then switch. I haven't switched yet."

For Birth Control "Nurx switched me from Nikki to Loryna with no warning, due to a lack of availability of Nikki. Ok, I decided I would try Loryna. What a mistake. I have never experienced such bad anxiety and headaches in my life. I do not recommend switching!"

For Birth Control "With this birth control, Loryna, I had only taken it for two weeks. If that doesn’t tell you anything, I don’t know what does. I’m diagnosed with endometriosis, which means I’m always at a high risk for cramping, blood clots, and all that jazz. I was on Sprintec for a year, and it just wasn’t right for me. My doctor had prescribed me Loryna, and I’ve never felt more like a crazy person in my life!! As soon as I started taking it, I realized a change in my moods and how I acted. I had horrible anxiety and depression for as long as I was on it!! This pill I do not recommend whatsoever!"

For Birth Control "I started this birth control a little over two months ago, and let me just say there are definitely side effects, but all GOOD!! I never had horrible skin, but since I began taking this, my skin is more clear than ever. Even some facial hair has stopped growing! All my coworkers rave about how great my skin is. As far as other side effects, the first few days I was very tired and had a slight headache, but THAT'S IT!! And it went away after the first week, absolutely no side effects! I was so nervous about starting this birth control as I have never taken birth control, and reading these reviews scared me. Also, there is no change in my sex drive and no vaginal dryness! I get married in a few months, and I’m so happy the first birth control I’ve tried is actually perfect for my body!"

For Acne "I was given Loryna for the first time a week ago. I used to have Gianvi, and I enjoyed it. I just started birth control again after having my son and done with breastfeeding. And so far, it's been great. The first day or two, I felt a little nauseous, but not too bad. And I haven't developed any new pimples since I started the pack. My sex drive seems to have gone up! Surprisingly. I like that. No side effects for me yet. So far, so good."

For Birth Control "I switched from Tri-Sprintec to Loryna. I was originally placed on birth control for hormonal acne, which proved to be a lifesaver. However, I switched to Loryna and, after the first month, have not gotten a period in close to three months. Unsure if this is common, but the lack of period and increased anxiety while on this medication makes me want to switch back for peace of mind."

For Birth Control "I was on Loryna for the last 2 years. For the first year, I really had no issues at all. My periods were super light, only 3 days at a time. My skin cleared up a bit, and I only had the occasional breakout. However, this definitely gave me a lot of anxiety, my family noticed, and so did my boyfriend. More recently, I began to have panic attacks, so I decided to stop. Overall, this worked effectively for me for a while, and I really had no issues for a long time."

For Birth Control "This is my first time on BC. I am 19, and it has worked really well so far! I have had unprotected sex a few times and no surprises yet! I did have mood swings the first week I was on it, I cried at literally almost anything, but I think that was just my body getting used to it because I haven’t had any since. The second pack, my acne cleared up a little bit, and I am now almost done with my third pack, and my acne is flaring up again, but I hope it will go away altogether within the next 3 packs - that’s what most reviews I’ve seen say that it takes about 6 months. Reading the reviews before I began this pill made me very scared, but this pill has worked very well for me!"

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I started Loryna for PMDD. Started on a Sunday. By Tuesday, I had 3 enormous, painful zits. By Thursday, I was in severe abdominal cramping pain. Similar to period/early labor pains. By Saturday, they landed me in the ER. Every lab test and ultrasound/X-ray was normal, so the only diagnosis that made sense was the pill. I'm currently on day 9 of my period, which would normally only last 5-6 days. Needless to say, it's in the trash now."

For Birth Control "Before Loryna, I was on so many different BC, I tried Lo Lo Estrin FE, Sprintec, etc. I struggled with bad hormonal acne and mood swings. My doctor prescribed Loryna for my acne, and I was hopeful. The first three months were pretty nauseating, and I lost weight, but at about six months, I started to notice a difference in my skin and mood, as well as a big increase in my breast size. I’m currently a year into it, and my skin is perfect, my periods are short and so manageable, my moods are much more leveled out, and I feel great. I had a great experience with this BC and don’t be scared to try it!!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Loryna for 1 and a half months and stopped taking it. The first month, it was okay besides breast tenderness. I have irregular periods, so I went on birth control to regulate them. But by the second week of my second pack, I felt extreme high anxiety. I'm not normally an anxious person, you know, some anxiety here and there. But the amount of anxiety I was experiencing was not like usual. I was waking up almost every night in panic attacks and tossing and turning, not being able to fall asleep. Then it started throughout the day, me being anxious just watching a movie, my mind would be racing. I remember not really being able to pinpoint what my anxiety was from, but I woke up one morning and realized the new thing I've been taking is birth control. So I stopped it and noticed throughout the day already it has been much better with anxiety. Sometimes in the night, I'm still anxious, but I just stopped it a day ago. I don't recommend this pill."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I was prescribed this for my severe premenstrual dysphoric disorder. I would feel unlike myself for a majority of the month, feeling normal only after I finished my period. Severe depression, mood swings, painful periods, if you know, you know. The first week on Loryna was tough. Stomach aches, nausea, weakness. Switched to taking it at 7 pm instead of 10 am, made a HUGE difference. After about a month, side effects as a whole subsided. I no longer felt my terrible mood swings, no more tender and painful breasts and periods, no more awful body aches, no more irritation and frustration, depression, anxiety! Life changer! I hit my highest in weight at 240 lb. On the pill, since I wasn't stressing anymore and depressed, I made great progress on my weight loss! Lost 20 lbs in 3 months and still counting! I no longer have my awful bouts of sadness, I get a little moody before my period, but it's only a couple of days and it's not severe! So happy with this!"

For Acne "Loryna gives me horrible side effects. Super depressed, anxious all the time. It makes me cry every single day throughout the entire day for the whole first week. The second week got slightly better, cried less, but I can't feel happy at all! Nothing makes me happy for the entire time that I was taking the pill! It never happened in my life before. I was feeling miserable for nonsense reasons. I was aware that my thoughts and my actions were being ridiculous. However, my mood, my thoughts, and everything about myself were out of control. It also caused me to have a super difficult time falling asleep and staying asleep. It gives me super strong headaches throughout the entire time. My body gets easily numb when I stay in a pose for only a few seconds. I was restless, having headaches, strengthless, sad mood throughout the whole time that I was taking it. It started causing me heart pain in the last week even!"

For Birth Control "Absolutely horrible for me. I took this for over a year, and it gave me so much acne in the beginning. Horrible mood swings. This medication filled me with pure anger! Loryna COMPLETELY destroyed my sex drive the entire time I was on it. It made my skin EXTREMELY oily. I hate this medication, and I'm never taking it again."

For Menstrual Disorders "I’ve been on this since late 2016. The doctor told me I can skip placebo weeks for up to 3 months. So I did that and started spotting, so I took it down to 2 months. Things were okay for a year, but coming into 2018, I started spotting in between periods. Like nonstop pink discharge. And I don’t know if I’ve always had them, but I noticed tiny spider veins in my leg. I’m tan, so you can barely see them, but I notice them. I went to the doctor and told him my issues, and he said to keep doing what I’m doing. So I said hell no, transferred all my records to an OBGYN office, and hopefully getting an IUD on Monday. But I’ve heard horrible side effects on this pill. It has both estrogen and progesterone, which can really cause issues, but here’s what I experienced: weight loss, clearer skin, much higher sex drive. Literally, the only issue is my spotting and the one spider vein. I’m so sorry for everyone who has apparently been through hell on this. I had great side effects."

For Birth Control "I've gained 20 pounds in the 5 months I've been on this. I cry and am depressed and find myself working extra hard to do activities that I normally love. I have never had recurring yeast infections and have to treat them once a month now. I also lost my sex drive, and I suddenly have really bad melasma. I am stopping immediately and hopefully notice some improvement soon. The plus side to this was short and light periods, but after the first 2 months, I had random spotting every month."

For Birth Control "This pill is just absolutely awful. When I got on it, I had been told that it was the same as my last pill, so I figured it would be okay, but it really wasn’t. On Mylan, I’m moody, I can admit that. On Loryna, I’m constantly angry and annoyed. I wake up in the morning always mad, and I hate it. This pill made it so much worse. On my other pill, my period was a nice, respectable 5 days, but on this one, it lasted well over two weeks. I haven’t noticed any other ill side effects, but most everyone who I have seen seems to hate this pill. If you have the choice, I wouldn’t recommend this at all. I was on Mylan for maybe a year before they switched me to this one, and I have to say if they give it to me again, I’m stopping birth control altogether. On my last pill, I was fine. If it works for you, great. However, I can’t say it’s the same for me. If it’s “the same,” it shouldn’t give you awful side effects. I can’t wait 5 more months."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Yaz for about 10 years. A few years ago, I was given Loryna as a generic for Yaz and didn't think anything of it, assuming it should be the same. While taking the generic, I experienced extremely heavy periods that would last at least a week with a lot of blood clots. Typically, my period is extremely light/no blood clots and lasts 3 days. I became very emotional and had drastic mood swings. Eventually, my heavy period came and then didn't leave for an entire month. This made me realize the only thing that had changed was switching to generic Yaz. Once I switched back to Yaz, all these symptoms stopped. I ONLY get Yaz now."

For Birth Control "I started using birth control for heavy periods senior year of high school. I first used EnkySence, and it gave me bad nausea and horrible acne. I switched to this, and I am on my fourth pack. It keeps my periods lighter and doesn't make me break out. The only problem I have had is if I don't take it within two hours of the time I take it every day, I will start having light bleeding. I don't get nausea and only had mood swings the first week."
