Tikosyn (dofetilide) for Arrhythmia "Afib and Vtach spiratic for 3 years .Went through 3 other antiarrhythmics they all made me very sick, vertigo N/V or tanked my BP. Dr recommended this because I was already in the hospital from complications from my first Ablation which gave me dresslers syndrome and eventually a pericardial window from fluid build up that they said was from Eliquis. After 4 weeks on Tikosyn no horrible side effects like what rythmal, flecinide or multaq gave me, just mild headaches and a little fatigue. I'm praying this is the keeper because I never want another ablation."

Tikosyn (dofetilide) for Arrhythmia "After 6 months of persistent AFIB, I was hospitalized and started on dofetilide, the generic of Tikosyn. I converted to sinus rhythm and did not need cardioversion. Fifteen months later, I am still in sinus rhythm. Too much coffee can give me a feeling of 'pre-AFIB', so one cup is all I drink. I am off balance every time I stand up for a short time. No idea if this is caused by the meds, or not. Also, I tire easily after moderate weight lifting and walking a mile at the gym. Maybe being 75? Regardless, it beats AFIB. I'm also careful to keep the dosing close to 12-hour intervals. I give the medicine a 9 for effectiveness."

Tikosyn (dofetilide) for Arrhythmia "I went into afib flutter 3 months ago. Been on dofetilide 250mg since with eliquis. I reacted with it, so changed to asprin-82mg. I have now reacted with it that with gut and stomach pains, general discomfort, memory problems and brain fog too. But has kept me out of afib-flutter ,which I had for 3 or 4 days ,before I had cardioversion paddle. Blood pressure is high in am then goes down at night. On cozaar-50mg also. What to do?"

Tikosyn (dofetilide) for Arrhythmia "I was put on Chicoson seven months ago even though the electro physiologist could not make a fib happen. I have no idea whether I have a fib or not. What I do have is clusters of premature heartbeats. I don't this drug. I see the EP in 10 days and I’m going to ask to be taken off. A week ago I missed my morning dose. It was the best I felt since starting this drug. I’ll repeat, I really don't like it and don’t know why the EP insists that I take it"

Tikosyn (dofetilide) for Arrhythmia "I was administered Tikosyn in Nov. 2018. Since then it had kept me in sinus rhythm. In March 2021 I took second shot of Pfizer vaccine and within two weeks my bpm started going up ( I was in bradycardia till then with bpm below 65). Got all exams done and seem that I will need to go through ablation. Few more people recorded same reaction after the COVID vaccine ( Pfizer and Moderna ). Can I come back to previous stage after the vaccine effect is lessened?? After how long the vaccine effect will go away I do not know. In sone case the heart rhythm was restored after 6 hours. In other episode after one month it can back to sinus rhythm. I still take dofetilide why i do not know because now it makes no sense."

For Arrhythmia "I was hospitalized for 4 days for "tikosyn initiation." I had had arrhythmia for about 4 years, and it had become constant. After the third dose, I went into sinus rhythm. After that, afib reappeared for a time. It subsided, and I went home. I saw my doctor on Monday following my Friday release from the hospital. He felt I should stick it out as the attacks were not for long, and only occurred a few times a day, at most. Today, I am pleased to say that the attacks no longer stop me dead in my tracks, leaving me to the mercy of my recliner. I generally notice them when I am working around the house. I have not detected any unusual side effects. For the most part, I carry on normal activity and hope to return to the gym this month for swimming and using the cardio equipment. I like to say that dofetilide has been about 90% effective; however I may have more to say once I return to the gym."

For Arrhythmia "I went on Tikosyn in November 2001 and am still on Dofetilide as of May 2018. I spent a week in the hospital back then and have not been out of rhythm since. I had congestive Heart failure in April 2001 which led to arrhythmia. I am now 52 years old."

For Arrhythmia "I am young to have AFib (HR <220) had it for over 10 years with many years no one believed me. Diagnosed correctly, my Electrophysiologist loaded me for Tikosyn. Had a few problems at first, so he did the lower dosage of 125 twice daily. I took it for over 1.5 years, down side was one of my monthly hospitalizations, my heart stopped completely 30 mins b/4 discharged and for a present last year I received a pacemaker. In June, from complications of the ablation, it went up to 375 twice daily. I don't know if this is a life saving medication, because I still get episodes, but they are lower (<170) and they now only last up to 4 hours. I haven't been back to the hospital for my friendly visit since August! All I know is that right now it works for me The downside it will be the rest of my life... but my Doctor is hopeful that one day I will be able to reduce the dosage again!"

For Arrhythmia "Had ablation july2022. Stayed in Afib over two weeks after. In ER 5 times in 11 days. Previously on amiodarone. Switched to dofetilide and have been in Afib once since. Went right back in to sinus rhythm. Price is more than the others but we’ll worth it to feel better"

For Arrhythmia "I had very minor afib maybe once a month on Flecanide. 108 rate and short duration. Doc put me on ticosyn 250mg and I quickly had side effects in the hospital, headache, insomnia, frequent urinating, etc and felt PAC’s. Now home and have even more frequent PAC’s that last more than 20 minutes at a time. I also have chills and a nasty body odor that I never had before. After two days at home I’m ready to go back to Flecanide. Does not feel like a good solution for me."

For Arrhythmia "I started taken dofetilide on 3/20/18. I have AFib. In the beginning everything was working fine. Three weeks later I stared having an itch, I was cold, I had pain all over. The Dr stopped the medicine for 5 days. I started back on it again and at that time I started having sort of a short breath. Or better said I had to take deep breaths and also had a heavy chest. I had so much pain I was not able to walk. The Dr stopped the medicine again and restarted yesterday. I have pains but not bad. I cannot go out for walk. I am puzzled. I don’t know what to do. I made an appointment to go for a second opinion. I have no AFib when I take the medication but the side effects are terrible."

"I have had 2 failed ablations and developed atrial tachycardia/flutter. Sotalol stopped working after 4 months. After several cardioversions, I was prescribed 500mg dofetilide. I converted on the second dose and have not had any episodes. I have been on dofetilide for 9 months without any side effects."
