Diphenhydramine for Insomnia "I tried Nytol 50mg for the first time to ease insomnia, but so far all it has done is keep me wide awake through the night with uncomfortable headache, dry mouth & throat, and leg pains. Diphenhydramine for Insomnia "I have been using Nytol for 7 days, and it has not worked at all. I suffer from chronic insomnia. Apparently, this product is clinically proven to help sleep? Really? I noticed nothing other than a fuzzy head and dry mouth, and I have been awake all night, the same as usual. Sick of people saying they have something that helps when it is rubbish. The only thing that has worked for me has been prescription meds."

Diphenhydramine for Allergic Rhinitis "Benadryl really helps take the sinus pressure away, and I found out recently it even worked best for my migraine. Out of Tylenol and Motrin, Benadryl was the only one to knock it out. It does cause me dry mouth and drowsiness. It also helps to calm me when I feel a panic attack or anxiety coming on. I'd rather take Benadryl than psych meds or all kinds of prescription meds any day. I hope it stays working wonders for me because Claritin and Flonase did nothing for me, and I don't want to have to try anything else."

Diphenhydramine for Allergic Reactions "I was given Benadryl at the hospital for an allergic reaction. It instantly shot my heart rate up to 217 bpm, and instantly my mouth got dry. I couldn't swallow, my chest felt hot, like an elephant was sitting on it, and I got really cold. It put me into shock, my body wouldn't stop shaking, I could breathe. It was so scary, I thought I was dead. Thanks to the doctor's quick response, he saved me, but it almost killed me."

Diphenhydramine for Insomnia "I used to use Nytol a fair amount at uni, but then stopped for about 2 years. I recently tried it again, and I have had a horrible night. Dry mouth and restlessness accompanied by severe anxiety, but nothing else. I have been trying for a few hours to get to sleep, and alas, nothing. I won’t be taking it again."

Diphenhydramine for Insomnia "Took 1 last night Nytol tablet 1 hour before bed. Mild sedative-like effect, but fell asleep okay. Next morning, I felt more tired at work than I did in bed, haha :) Plus dry mouth, and luckily avoided a headache by drinking water!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "Diphenhydramine works for me when I have nausea and headaches. The only side effects I experience are sleepiness and dry mouth, but I have insomnia, so it's actually a big bonus drug for me, and they are cheap. A bottle of Great Value is 4 bucks for 100 pills."

For Pruritus "The doctor ordered 50 cc of Benadryl when I was in the ER for a bad breakout of eczema, among other things. As soon as the medicine got in my veins, I was useless! My mouth got instantly dry, I couldn’t speak anyway. It felt like it does when they put you to sleep. I was out for 3 hours in the ER! I received a couple of phone calls while I was there and didn’t remember them after. Luckily, I didn’t drive myself there, but I felt strange the rest of the day. It definitely stopped the itching because I wasn’t awake to feel it!!"

Diphenhydramine for Insomnia "In the beginning, they worked well. Took whenever I felt the need, and it knocked me out. But after the pandemic, they don’t work at all, exactly the opposite, actually. They now make me feel wide awake. So alert that even my eyes feel fresh and awake before I’ve even slept. Having to get up at 6 am for work really doesn’t help, either. Today, I took a Nytol at 11 pm, and it’s now 4 am and I haven’t slept. I’m googling “does Nytol make me feel awake,” and it seems a lot of people react the same to it. Reading these reviews is useful because I know I’m not alone! Dry mouth, fuzzy headache, muscle cramps (from staying awake and trying to stay still), and thumping heart. I just wish I knew what the solution is. I have tried going to the docs, but they are reluctant to prescribe anything, so I’m stuck in limbo. If anyone knows any over-the-counter alternatives, please tell me!"

For Allergic Rhinitis "I started taking these for my allergies. It does help me sleep, but like somebody said, beware of vivid dreams. I've also experienced a dry throat where I have trouble swallowing. It's a weird sensation. Not sure if I'm going to keep taking them."

Diphenhydramine for Insomnia "I was very stressed due to work commitments and was not sleeping at night, constantly thinking about work. I took 1 tablet 2 hours before going to sleep, and I got the best sleep. I highly recommend. Strange how the reviews are so bad. What I can say is you do wake up feeling a bit groggy, but it does subside after about an hour, and it makes my mouth feel very dry, but I will be continuing to take it as I’m getting a really good night's sleep."

Diphenhydramine for Insomnia "Use this regularly to help with my irregular work shift patterns. I take 100 mg, and within 40 minutes, I start to feel drowsy enough to sleep. Yes, it gives a dry mouth and some fogginess in the morning at times, but this brand is well worth using for insomnia. Outcome may vary for others."
