For Allergic Rhinitis "Drixoral was prescribed for me by my primary physician when it was a prescription drug and when it was changed to over-the-counter medication and has been the only allergy medication to completely relieve my symptoms. Within the last few weeks, local pharmacies have been unable to receive this product. Therefore, I now experience nasal and post-nasal thin watery drainage with resulting throat discomfort."

For Nasal Congestion "I had sinus congestion often while growing up. This continued even as an adult. In the late '80s, I tried Drixoral. My sinus congestion was cleared for at least 6 months and rarely needed Drixoral, only once or twice a year when I got sick. I considered it a cure. I found out a couple of years ago about them discontinuing it as I haven't needed it for a couple of years. I do believe it was a cure (for me at least)."

For Nasal Congestion "I have used Drixoral for years. It is the only thing that helps me with my head congestion and my asthma. It helps me to breathe better. I notice that I do not have to use my albuterol when I use it. I noticed since I don't have Drixoral, my breathing is not good when it is humid or when something else can trigger my asthma. I hope they bring the product back, otherwise, I am going to suffer."

For Sinus Symptoms "I am miserable without Drixoral. Like the other reviewers here, I have found it to be the only formulation that gives me relief from my sinus symptoms. I've been a loyal user for years. And I'm annoyed that the antihistamine that makes this drug unique isn't available in any other formulation. I'm frustrated and congested!"

For Allergic Rhinitis "This is the only allergy medicine that has ever worked for me. I've been using it since it was a prescription-only capsule, and I'm honestly suffering without it. Why they took it off the market is beyond reason?"

For Cold Symptoms "I was out of options. Blowing my nose every five minutes and not being able to breathe. I tried saline spray, but 2 minutes after, it was to do all over again. I went to the pharmacy and asked what I could do because I was tired of not sleeping and not breathing, and I was losing my patience when it came to eating because I got so irritated of losing my breath. She said use Drixoral, and instantly!! It worked! I highly recommend it."

For Allergic Rhinitis "My doctors have tried repeatedly for years to find another drug to replace Drixoral Cold & Allergy Tablets in the treatment of my allergies. All have failed. In fact, every time Drixoral has been removed from my regimen, I have gone into asthmatic bronchitis. Needless to say, it distresses me greatly to know that Drixoral is not readily available now."

For Nasal Congestion "I have been looking for Drixoral for the last month and cannot find it anywhere. I usually purchase it at Sam's Club and thought that they discontinued carrying it. Reading the other posters, I now understand that it is no longer being made. I've used Drixoral for the last 20 years to relieve sinus headaches, and without Drixoral, I am again experiencing these headaches. No other product I've used has worked."

For Cold Symptoms "My boyfriend got me on Drixoral. It's the only thing that works with my family when the cold season comes around! My whole family loves it! Why did they discontinue it, and I'm praying that the company that makes it will definitely bring it back!"

For Allergic Rhinitis "I started using Drixoral many years ago as prescribed by my primary care doctor. Over the years, when new drugs came out, he would have me try them. Nothing works like Drixoral. I am having a hard time finding it in the DC area and have been really suffering."

For Nasal Congestion "I am suffering greatly since Drixoral is no longer available. I have used it since it became available without a prescription. It is the only thing that worked for me and my allergies. I am so miserable now, it is not good. Nothing else comes close to doing what Drixoral did for me. Can't believe it is not being made anymore."

For Nasal Congestion "I have experienced severe sinus nasal congestion and the resulting headaches for over 10 years. I have basically tried everything out there, and Drixoral is the only medication that works for me. I too agree-please put Drixoral back on the market!"

For Sinus Symptoms "Like everyone else who has commented here, I have been using Drixoral for years for my terrible sinus headaches, and it is the only thing that has helped me. I have tried most other prescription and non-prescription medications and never had any relief. Now I can't get any sleep and am constantly in pain. What are they doing in discontinuing it? I am going to try to order it through Canada, although if they aren't making it anymore, that supply will probably not last long either. I am really angry that they have done this without so much as a reason."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I've used Drixoral for many years for allergic rhinitis after Rondec-TR was discontinued, as it worked the best with no side effects. Apparently, it has been discontinued and will no longer be available. Hope I can find something else that works."

For Sinus Symptoms "I have also used Drixoral for years, and it is the only product that has given me any relief from sinus and allergy symptoms. I could not believe it when it was taken off the market either. Not because it was ineffective or dangerous, but because speed freaks were stealing it to make methamphetamine. I have ordered Drixoral from Canada at a much higher price. I get some comfort in knowing that I am not alone in my desire for Drixoral to be brought back on the market."

For Nasal Congestion "I live in Scotland now after 25 years in New York. I asked a friend to locate Drixoral Cold and Allergy because I can't find anything comparable in the UK. The pharmacist told my friend that slowly, most decongestants are being pulled from the market. First, Tavis D disappeared, then Chlor Trimeton, and now Drixoral - probably because of the pseudoephedrine. I am at a loss to find anything as effective. Plain antihistamines just do not work alone with a cold or allergic attack."

For Sinus Symptoms "Never suffered from any type of allergy. Moved to SC, worked on a farm and had developed an allergy. Dr. gave me a script that left me fatigued/sleepy and could not function. Tried one dose of Drixoral AM and never took another. Amazing."

For Cold Symptoms "I have used Drixoral for years. My OBGYN first told me about it when I had a severe cold while I was actually pregnant. It is the only cold medicine that ever worked for me. I felt better in 2 days. It's long lasting, unlike the other OTC cold medicines that you have to take every 4 hours. I absolutely love Drixoral. I can breathe freely, and that's half of the cold symptoms that I find intolerable. I don't understand why, when there is a product that really works, you can't buy it anywhere around here."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I've used this product for years, and I agree with the other comments. It's the best. However, recently, I've been unable to get it. I guess if a product is not highly advertised, it's not popular enough to be marketable."

For Sinus Symptoms "Drixoral worked. Nothing in the drugstore works like Drixoral did. I'm tired of trying different brands to find what works because nothing does. If there is such a demand for it to come back, then bring it back in its original potency, but have it be prescription only. Plus, patients must have a documented chronic sinus condition."

"I started taking Drixoral in 1963 when it was in prescription form and then went to over the counter and now is behind the pharmacist counter. I have only taken 1 tablet a day to control my symptoms for all these years with no problems - congestion, itchy eyes, sneezing, drainage, etc. Now it has been removed from the shelves, and I have heard they will not be making it any longer and also that they are moving and will make it again in the future. Nothing I have tried works as well."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I've tried everything for my allergies since they get so bad from where I live. A friend of mine gave me Drixoral to try, and it did magic. Not one sign of allergies the next day! It does make me drowsy, so I take it at night and wake up with no symptoms. Sometimes, even during the day, I'll still be drowsy, so I tried to cut the pill in half so it wouldn't be too strong for me, but that was impossible."

For Nasal Congestion "I was addicted to Afrin big time back in the '60s and '70s, used Privine and Neosynephrine to get off the Afrin within a few days. But the first time, it was Drixoral that got me off the Afrin, it worked immediately and fast. In 6 days, I had forgotten all about Afrin and Drixoral. Here is the story: Drixoral is a combo of dexbrompheniramine antihistamine and pseudoephedrine decongestant. Pseudoephedrine was replaced by phenylephrine, which simply does not work because pseudoephedrine can be used to make speed. But it is still available at all drug stores if you ask and sign for it. Dexbrompheniramine was removed from the market for reasons of safety. It's not coming back, but most of the newer 2nd generation antihistamines should work fine."

For Nasal Congestion "ABSOLUTE WORST DRUG!!! Never use this drug, it is extremely addictive! I was addicted to it for two years, having to use it every 2-3 hours! I was misdiagnosed with allergies because of this drug! This drug tricked my immune system into thinking I had allergies! It also damaged the inside of my nose and nasal cavity! This is not a drug that should ever be sold over the counter! I don't even think it should be sold at all, and if it does, it should only be available by my doctor's prescription! This is an awful drug! I am off the drug for 6 weeks thanks to the help of an absolutely fantastic allergist! I haven't been tested twice for allergies, and both tests have come back negative, proving that this drug is the reason for causing the problems!"

"Like others here, I have been using Drixoral for years. I am now finding it harder to find in drugstores. I live in Canada and have never seen it in the USA when I go for visits. PLEASE, the people who own this company, NEVER STOP SELLING IT. I have been using it for as long as I can remember it has been available and have told others about this product. They all agree it works fast, and IT WORKS."
