"I absolutely hate this birth control. Before I switched to this, I had been on Tri Linyah (Ortho Tri-Cyclen) for 5 years, and it was great! However, I wanted to switch to a new pill because I felt breast tenderness more often, and I wanted the ability to skip my period (my old pill had different dosages each week, which made this difficult). I went on Cyred, and my skin has been awful from the beginning (like so bad), my boobs are still very sore, and I experience nausea constantly. I'm currently just stopping this pill even though I haven't been a day without BC since I was 15. I am abroad right now, and I am tired of what this pill is doing to me. Can't wait to visit a doctor back home to get my old pill back or start IUD."

"I’ve been taking Cyred birth control for a little over a month, and the largest side effect for me is acne. I usually never get acne, but now I do. Occasional mood swings and depression, but that might be just me. I take it at night, so I don’t feel nauseous during the day. I was only nauseous for the first week or two. I haven’t had any other side effects with it."

"Do not get me wrong. I LOVED this pill. Cyred was the only pill I’ve taken that didn’t give me side effects of making me depressed, retaining water, or making me gain an unhealthy amount of weight, etc. I was happy as a clam. The only thing that drove me nuts is any last bit of libido I had... GONE. Also, I had brown discharge coming out for two months. The only time I didn’t have brown discharge was during sex. It stained all my undies, even my cute ones. :( I’ve had to wear a tampon every day. I really wish things were different with this pill 'cause I loved it, just wish I had libido and healthy-looking discharge. :("

"Took this as pregnancy prevention, but mostly because I had really bad acne. I changed my routine and took this birth control, and now my skin is clear. Only negative is lately it causes me to be bloated almost 24/7! I’m almost positive it is from this birth control. I’m very sad to have these symptoms after 2 years on it. I'm switching to IUD. I also gained about 10 lbs (not in my boobs, unfortunately:)."

"I have been taking Cyred EQ for a bit over 3 months now, which is how much time you should allow yourself to become adjusted to new hormones (unless side effects are unbearable, of course). Also, take into consideration that everybody responds to hormones differently. What works wonders for some may cause hell for others. This is just my own personal experience, take note that yours could be completely different. Within a few weeks of beginning Cyred EQ, I noticed more acne breakouts on my face, neck, chest, and back. In addition to the acne, my breasts became increasingly tender (also may have grown a bit?) and I did not experience much relief with the unbearable cramps that I tend to get. On the other hand, I did not notice any weight fluctuations or significant mood changes. Spotting was very minimal after getting used to the hormones, and the flow of my period was very light. Overall, Cyred EQ has worked relatively well for me, despite a few annoying side effects."

"I have been using this birth control for about a year now. From the very beginning, I would have the worst mood swings. At first, I thought it was just my body getting used to the pill, and then after a few months, I thought maybe it was just me. But here we are, a year later, I get constant acne in places I never had before. I am a college track athlete, so I run and work out every single day, and I have gained 16 pounds since last year. I get horrible anxiety, mood swings, and cry almost every day over small things."

"I've been using Cyred since 2017, and it definitely works because I'm not pregnant. It's an amazing pill, but don't get me wrong. The side effects that I've experienced are weight gain, sore breasts, and my libido drive went away. I did manage my libido drive, but it does get some time to get regulated with the pill. Besides that, it has cleared up my acne and has allowed me to not have any periods (instructed by doctor). I 100% recommend."

"I have taken the Cyred birth control on and off for a few months. I started taking it for a month, and it went really well. Then I stopped for a couple of months and now have been taking it nonstop for almost a month. I've been spotting dry blood nonstop, but it's not too terrible, and my breasts are tender and have gotten bigger. I'm able to eat more, which is nice because I usually have a poor appetite. My acne has gotten a little worse, but I'm sure it'll get better once my hormones regulate."

"So I’m just going to rate it at a 5 for now. I’ve been on the pill for about 2 weeks now, and what I have already noticed was acne. I never usually get acne except for a few bumps here and there, but now I’ve been getting huge pimples. Also, my breasts are a bit tender, but overall I’m just going to keep trying it out and hopefully my hormones will balance."

"I just started Cyred and I went on it to not get pregnant and to regulate my period and help with my acne. I have only been on it for a week so far. My skin has been pretty much the same, my acne isn’t terrible, but I still have a pimple here and there, which I’m not complaining about. But I didn’t start feeling the side effects until the end of the week. I already struggle with headaches and got a minor headache on my 8th day in, so I just took Advil. Then on the 9th day, I threw up in the morning due to the birth control. I’m not quite sure why because I take it at night after I eat. So I’m going to try and stick it out for as long as I can, but if I continue to get nauseous and throw up, I will switch to something else."

"I've been on this birth control a month and a half. The most bothersome side effect is my breast soreness. It even hurts to hug. No migraines or skin issues. I eat well and have been working out a lot, so I actually lost weight. I do get nauseous and loss of appetite occasionally, but I am able to skip my period, which is great. I did spot a bit after skipping two periods, so I took the placebos just to balance my body out. I have way less menstrual pain than normal. I'm going to stay on at least 3 months to see if the breast tenderness goes away!"

"I'm 18 and just got on this over a month ago. For the first couple of weeks, I had sore breasts, and I got nauseous at times. Threw up in my mouth once. But the rest actually wasn’t too bad."

"I do not recommend this birth control to any woman. I’ve only been taking this brand for a few weeks now, and within the first week, I was experiencing migraines like never before. I would be writhing in pain because my stomach hurt so badly and always felt like I needed to go to the bathroom. I was dizzy all the time just walking, and my eyes were sensitive to light. Upon waking, I would be extremely confused and even stutter upon speaking, and my hand-eye coordination was off. I’ve never in my life had such an awful experience with birth control."
