Cyproheptadine for Anorexia "I have been looking for a long time for a pill that would help me gain weight. It's not like I was unhappy with the way I look, but I just wanted to add some curves. My daughter has been taking the pill and she was a lot smaller than me, and she is looking great now. It does make you a little sleepy at first, but your body will start to get adjusted to it. I highly recommend this pill for weight gain. I just love it, and one pill a day will do the trick!"

For Anorexia Nervosa "Started cyproheptadine mid-September of 2019 at 97 lbs. Underweight for a 31-year-old woman. I’ve been small my whole life, but I am a very anxious person. So, this was a contributing factor. My doctor prescribed 4 mg 3 times a day. I started out with 1 pill a day and never increased because of how well it worked. The first week, it does make you very sleepy and even irritable. Well, it did with me. I pushed through because I needed to see if it worked. So my weight and dates. Started mid-September 2019 - 97 lbs. October 7th - 110 lbs, November 6th - 121.2 lbs. I was gaining pretty decent weight and now I’m 136-139 lbs, which is at my goal since I’m only 5’1. My weight does fluctuate by 5 lbs give or take just depending on how I’m feeling and eating. If I drop below 135, I just start it back and within a week and a half, I’m back to where I want to be. This medication does work, and it works well, the key is getting through the first week or two of side effects to allow your body to adjust."

Cyproheptadine for Anorexia "I have always been thin my whole life & tried everything to gain weight. I hate skinny jokes. Still at the age of 31, and you would think 5 kids would have given me some weight, smh. No. So I asked my doctor to prescribe me something. So far, I've been using them for 2 weeks now and I've gone from 100 to 112. I'm supposed to take one at bedtime, but I take them 2-3 times a day, and it literally increases my appetite, which I barely had before. I'm hungry all the time, especially when I wake up in the morning and after dinner. It's a must for a late-night snack or mini meal. I'm really satisfied with my results, my only complaint would be the sleeping too much. I had to start taking half and half of the 4mg because they knock you out for hours. Hope this helps :-)"

Cyproheptadine for Anorexia "This medication is phenomenal! I'm 11, and I was only about 81 pounds, which was a problem for me. But then my doctor prescribed me this pill, and it totally changed my life! In about 4 weeks, I was 90 pounds... I was so happy! I definitely recommend this pill if you are trying to gain weight. Although it will make you sleepy, it's still very helpful because I do have trouble going to sleep at night! I am in love with this pill, and it has definitely changed my life!"

"I just started to take this medication today, and so far I'm starting to feel sleepy. I pray that it works, because I have always been a little petite woman, and I always feel bad because when I go in public, people say, 'Wow, you are so small. Do you eat? Do you have kids?' I will be back in a month to let you all know how this medication is working for me. Thanks, and I hope everyone has to accomplish what their dreams."

For Anorexia "I have struggled with gaining weight/appetite for a while now. After dropping down to 109 and hearing comments every day about being thin, I saw my doctor, and he prescribed me this. It has worked wonders for my appetite! I put on 10 lbs in almost 3 weeks and plan to keep going until I'm about 130. They made me sleepy at first, but now that has worn off after about the 2nd week. If you are looking to put on weight, I highly recommend trying these... Great appetite enhancer!"

Cyproheptadine for Anorexia "I have been using this for 4 years now, and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to gain weight. However, it makes you feel very sleepy and hungry, but if you are going for that smoking hot body, you need to exercise, so you would only gain weight in necessary areas."

For Anorexia "I love this medicine! I started it on 04/09/18 to help me with my poor appetite and help me gain weight. Let's just say it did just that. I have been struggling with weight gain for years. It does take 3 days for your body to get used to it, and you will be sleepy. But after the 3 days, you will eat like a fat grown man. I eat over 4000 calories daily. I gained 10 lbs within the first 10 days. I was picking up between 2-4 lbs every week. I was eating breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and late-night dinner. I stayed snacking on something if I wasn't eating a meal. What helped me out with my weight was I was eating shakes every day with meals. I stopped taking it on 06/20/18. I still eat well, not as good as when I was on the pills. But I have maintained my weight and eating habits off the pills. I have gained a total of 35 lbs in 2 1/2 months. I started the pill weighing in at 105 lbs, size 0/1, to now weighing 140 lbs, size 6/7."

For Anorexia "I heard about this cyproheptadine 4 mg pill in 2003, but no doctor would prescribe it for me until now. I'm 5'2 and weighing 113 on and off. So I asked a new doctor for it, and yes, he prescribed it. I started on 2/11/2016 at 113, now, it is 2/16/2016, weighing 120. I'm so happy. I was sleepy at first, but it gets better over a week, so not bad now. I love this pill!"

Cyproheptadine for Migraine "I was prescribed 4 mg 3x a day. I asked my PCP for a prescription for this after doing some research myself. I never did see clear dosage guidelines, so my Dr. put me on the dose for allergies because use for migraines is off-label. I started it at 4 mg at night and had to go home sick (sleepy) from work the next day! So be very cautious when starting this medicine. I then started taking only 2 mg each night, and it has worked wonderfully. I had a migraine every day for about 6 months before trying this, and now not one for months. I feel like I have my life back."

For Anorexia "I must say this medicine has really helped me so much. I recommend this to anyone looking to gain weight. When I first started, I was maybe sleepy the first week, but I got over it. I have been on this med for almost a month and gained 10 pounds already, and I'm in love with the results."

Cyproheptadine for Anorexia "I have been underweight in my life. I was searching for any kind of magical trick to gain some weight. Even I purchased oral steroids just to get rid of my skinny structure. Finally, I read about the tablet Periactin. But again, there was a problem that tablet Periactin is not available in many countries. Its UK brand medicine requires a valid prescription. Then I went to a doctor, got a prescription, and ordered these pills. Point to be noted: in the first few days, you will only feel sleepy, roughly the first 5-7 doses if you are taking 4 mg/day. But you will clearly see a difference in your appetite. This pill is tailor-made for weight gain. Absolutely worked so far. I took 12 tablets, it means 1 tablet/day and gained 4 kg weight."

For Anorexia "I am using this tablet called Cypro Vita (cyproheptadine) for weight gain. It's my fourth day, and all I feel now is just sleepy. How long does it take to have changes like increased appetite? Can someone please add some comments."

For Anorexia "Yes, the hype is true with this med for appetite increase (also used for allergies, which works wonders). This will... I repeat, this medicine will make you sleepy, dizzy, and a bit lazy the first few days. I would say give it a full week before the sleepiness becomes manageable. I can recommend taking 2 mg, then up the dose every few days. **DO NOT take a full 4 mg at first, it will knock you on your butt. (Dissolving the tablet in juice or taking it with a full meal might help with the drowsiness.) Started this med at 100 lbs, 9 days later, I'm at 108 lbs. I rate it a 9 and not a full 10 because of the extreme drowsiness/sleepiness in the beginning. One last thing I recommend is to eat healthy foods to gain weight."

For Anorexia "For me, being skinny never felt right. I was skin and bones all the time, and that really affected my self-confidence. In 2011, my mother introduced me to this medicine, and I love her extra for it. I moved from being just 110 at 5 ft 11 ins to 155 in a few months. A month ago, when I checked my weight, I was 170 lbs. Damn, how I was happy about it. But now I am going through a stressful time in my life (he got someone pregnant). I have already lost 7 lbs. I am back on this medicine again, and hopefully, I gain the lbs I lost recently. It does make you really sleepy at first, but then I feel like my body got used to it."

For Migraine "I was getting migraines, and I could not find anything to control them. My allergist recommended this drug. It has been a lifesaver! Yes, I have read what other people have said about it, but I would make a suggestion - as my doctor told me. It does make you sleepy - so you take it only at night before you go to bed. I wake up fully refreshed. I have been taking this medicine for over two years and have gained no weight. If you suffer from migraines, I highly suggest you try this. I might have had 1 migraine attack in the past year. I would say that it works very well."

For Failure to Thrive "The good: My 2-year-old takes this medication. He’s also on a feeding tube due to unknown feeding issues, aspiration, choking, underweight, and low hunger, as well as vomiting. His neurologist put him on it, hoping the vomiting was linked to his headaches (he has Chiari malformation that we got surgically fixed 6 months ago). Since he’s been on this med, I have been able to take him off 2 of his 5 feeding tube feeds because he will actually drink a thickened bottle. Plus, he has been more successful at eating his solid foods and choking and regurgitating his foods much less. I’m not sure what part of the meds did that, but I’m thankful! No more puking and no more headaches. The bad: He sleeps a lot, at 2, that’s fine. It wasn’t okay for my older kid who was also on it."

For Anorexia "So far, so good. Makes me really sleepy, but I'm eating like I'm pregnant with twins. I absolutely love it so far because all I'm doing is eating and laying around, and you know what that does? Weight gain. I'm so ready to see the results by my birthday."

For Anorexia "I suffer from depression and anxiety. Being stressed 24 hours a day. I had no appetite whatsoever. My new doctor prescribed cyproheptadine to increase my appetite. I've taken it for only one week so far. A bit sleepy at first, but now that I've gotten past the sleepiness, I actually eat all day long. I can see the weight coming on, and I love it. Can't wait to look in the mirror and see thickness instead of skin and bones. I will be taking this until my doctor says otherwise. I'm 108 lbs right now. Anxious to get up to my ideal weight of 130 lbs. Thanks, cyproheptadine. You are a lifesaver."

"I started taking cyproheptadine back in 2014 (4 mg, 2 pills each dose). I was in my mid-30s, height 5'6, weight was 105 lbs. My doctor prescribed these, and they worked instantly. In one week, I gained 10 lbs. Three weeks later, I had gained an additional 25 lbs. I was happy with that weight. I stopped taking them in 2017 and kept the weight for a while. Eventually, I stopped taking them altogether because I didn’t have the doctor that originally prescribed them. It’s 2023, and due to stress and a lot of other factors, I no longer had the weight, but I’m back on them. I started taking them again on March 3, 2023, and my weight was 102 lbs. It is March 23, 2023, and I just weighed in at 121.9 lbs. So in 2 weeks, I’ve gained almost 20 lbs. I also have been exercising as well. They made me sleepy, but that’s because my body had to get back used to them, otherwise, I feel great and the weight looks really good. Be sure to exercise because you will gain a tummy! Hope this helps."

For Failure to Thrive "These pills really work. I have been struggling with weight gain for years! I took these pills, and within just 2-3 weeks, I gained 10 lbs! I love this, and I am currently looking to buy more! They make you really sleepy, but they definitely help you out on the weight by boosting your appetite and allowing you to pack on the food! I took them 3 times a day after every meal instead of with or before, that way, I ate 3x more than usual and was able to increase my calorie intake each day! I also drank Ensure Plus and ate things with peanut butter, i.e., apples and peanut butter, graham crackers with peanut butter, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I was a size 0, now I’m a size 2! Try this, ladies, it works!"

"This is my 1-month update. I was weighing 128 lbs. I started taking Apetamin on June 26, 2016. I weighed in today, July 26, 2016, and I weigh 141 lbs. My goal is 150 lbs. Apetamin really does work. I gained a total of 12 lbs in one month. For the first 2 days, I felt sleepy, but after that, I was okay."

Cyproheptadine for Allergic Reactions "I had a constant itchy vaginal area for 3 months. It got worse at night. I had so many tests and tried so many products, but nothing helped, and they couldn't find anything wrong with me! I was at my wit's end. Finally, I was put on Periactin as it is meant to help with itchy skin. Within 2 days, I was completely itch-free, and I've been completely fine ever since! Hooray! I have no idea what will happen when I stop, but hopefully the problem has resolved itself. I also had an amazing and surprising side effect. I put on 2 kgs in 2 weeks! I've been underweight my whole life, and I've never been able to get past 45 kgs. Right now I am 49 kgs! I just can't believe it! :) The first 3 days, I was terribly sleepy, but all fine now. Thank you, Periactin!"

For Anorexia "After seeing all these reviews, I really thought I would gain weight too. Well, it's been 1 week, and I felt really sleepy for 3 days, and I looked as if I had gained weight on my face. I was really happy, but after the 4th day, I think the weight gain on my face disappeared. I feel hungry after 1 pm. I want to eat something all the time, but I don't think I'm gaining weight. I'm thinking about increasing the pills dosage to 3 times a day now!"

For Anorexia "I am a very slim girl. 21 years old. Normally 100-110 pounds. Unhappy with my current weight. I didn't have much appetite and feel very full with just a couple of bites. I started cyproheptadine on 2/3 weighing 106 lbs. Today, 2/8, I am 111.5 lbs. The first 3-4 days the pill makes you very, very sleepy. Fight through it, as it goes away after the first few days. Cyproheptadine does make you feel super hungry and removes the full feeling. You must eat if you want to gain weight. I am taking the pill 2-3 times a day, 4mg. I do believe this works. I will post more updates in a month."
