For Anorexia "I took GML-apeti which has cyproheptadine in it, to gain weight. I gained about 35 pounds over a course of 3 years. I noticed when I’d miss a pill or two, I’d get dizzy and I was always tired on it. Then, once I stopped taking it completely, I couldn’t sleep. I woke up nauseous every morning, and now I have permanent dizziness which I believe is from taking that. I stopped over a month ago and I’m still sick. Ever since taking these pills I’ve developed horrible health conditions, and I lost almost all the weight I’ve gained. Don’t take this..."

Cyproheptadine for Anorexia "This is simply something magical! I've been underweight naturally since childhood, always hearing 'you should eat more,' although I really had a good appetite. I can't even wear the clothes I want as I feel so bad to see my skinny legs and hands, etc. I sat at night and thought about what else I could try to put on weight, as protein milkshakes and squats didn't work for me. I googled Periactin, ordered online from Weldricks (UK), and I want to cry and scream to the world how happy I am! Using it for two weeks, 1 tablet before bedtime - gained 4kgs, never had this weight before! I eat around 3000-4000 kcals a day. It also makes me feel really sleepy and tired, but it means nothing when you see those amazing numbers on the scales."

Cyproheptadine for Anorexia "I decided to try this to put on weight. It's only the second day and I've noticed an extreme increase in appetite!!! The only bad thing is it makes me so tired. Does anyone else get this? Shall I take it before bed then?"

Cyproheptadine for Anorexia "Periactin (Cyproheptadine) is amazing for weight gain! I gained so much weight and I looked amazing, however, there were three side effects: 1) I slept like a bear, I was always tired, 2) I had really bad mood swings, and I was like a zombie, 3) dry nose bleeds. However, I reduced the dosage from 2 tablets (one in the morning, one at night) to one a day and I felt much better. I recommend you take multivitamins and do lots of exercise. The results were quick and amazing. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to gain weight."

For Anorexia "I've always been quite underweight and absolutely hated it, tried this years ago and quit a few pills in due to the tiredness caused. Gave it another shot 6 weeks ago and have gained a stone already (usually impossible!). I've been taking one a day which is a low dose, and my appetite has easily doubled. I used to feel full halfway through a meal and feel anxious going out for food in case I couldn't finish it. Definitely not a problem anymore. I've given it a 10 as it has made such a huge impact on my self-esteem already, and unexpectedly resolved what I believe to be urticaria overnight. The only downside is the tiredness; makes getting to sleep nice and easy, but waking up is so difficult! Long way to go still, but very happy so far :)"

For Anorexia "I was prescribed cyproheptadine for weight gain. I’ve struggled with gaining weight all my life. The first couple of days, I was extremely tired, but after 2-3 days, that wore off. However, my appetite has increased. I’m literally always hungry! I’ve only been on this medication for a week, and I've already gained 5 pounds. I swear none of this would’ve happened without this medication. My goal weight is now only about 15 pounds away!"

For Anorexia "I've always been skinny but not to a point where people would point it out or say I need to gain weight. I tried taking this because sometimes I'll lose my appetite and I can go days without feeling hungry. I took half a 4 mg at night before bed and I couldn't get out! I slept from 10 pm all the way to 1:30 in the afternoon and I was still tired! It makes your bones feel like jelly. It does help you gain weight, but when I took it, all the weight just went to my stomach. So now I'm just forcing myself to eat more and I hit the gym 5 times a week for weight lifting, and I look better than when I used this pill to gain weight. If you want to put on healthy weight, aka muscle, this isn't the pill to try-16 lbs of muscle = 1 year to put on."

For Migraine "It got prescribed this when I started getting horrible headaches almost daily. I was told to take it two times daily, once in the morning and once at night. It gave me more headaches, at least an aura without pain. I had increased blind spots in my vision, as well as it made me extremely tired. Stopped taking it."

For Anorexia "This is the only thing that has worked for my poor appetite! I've always struggled with having little to no appetite and feeling like I was 'too thin.' I've been taking these pills for months now, and I can honestly say that I went from 99 lbs to 130 lbs. I look extremely healthy and happier. It has some cons too. Your body will start to get used to it, and you will most likely lose weight and your appetite if you discontinue it. It also makes you extremely tired, so take it before bed or on your days off."

For Anorexia "Wow, just wow. These pills are magic. I had problems with trying to gain weight for years, and I was always skinny. I've been taking them for 2 weeks, and I gained 21 lbs, mauling that fridge like a bear. For example, I used to struggle with one plate of rice, now I can eat 3 plates of rice and still get hungry after 1 hour, like I didn't eat for a whole day. Even helped me finally get a good night's sleep, they helped me be more fearless and confident (I don't know how :D). But definitely the biggest downside is that these pills made me constantly tired and sleepy throughout the day. I could barely even function, and sometimes I even looked like I was drunk. Anyway, I recommend it to anyone that has weight gain and sleeping struggles."

For Migraine "When I was in 3rd grade, I was diagnosed with migraines. Sometimes the medicine doesn't help. I feel lightheaded a lot, dizzy, and tired when I am in school. When I get them, my teachers just deal with it, or say, 'No, you don't have a headache. Go sit down,' or even they say, 'You are just trying to avoid doing your stuff,' which I'm not."

For Migraine "My daughter, age 9, was having 3 to 4 migraines a week for over a year, so her neurologist put her on this medication. It has helped tremendously! She has maybe 1 or 2 a month now. We are now weaning her off of it, hoping her migraines don't come back full swing. She does seem to be more tired since she started taking it, but it did not interfere with her daily life. Her appetite did increase, but this wasn't an issue for her because she struggles to gain weight. She has gained about 5 pounds in the 6 months she's been taking it."

"I've had severe IBS since middle school and had to drop out due to daily debilitating pain. My doctor prescribed this cyproheptadine, saying there wasn't much he could do and I was probably out of luck. At first, I was so tired that I almost fell asleep while walking, really dry mouth, artificial feeling high mood, and ravenous all the time. After about 6 weeks, I had breakfast for the first time since I was very little, and I could eat carbs without being in pain for hours. The sleepiness was way less pronounced, and a year on, I just get a little sleepier than everyone else, dry mouth went away, still hungrier but not ravenous, and a lot less depressed (but that could be from IBS being fixed). Honestly, I never thought in a million years I'd be free of my IBS, but it seems like as long as I don't forget my 4 mg 3 times a day, I'm just like a perfectly normal, healthy person. It's like a dream come true. Though now, I don't dream at night, and my memory seems bad, but I'd say it's still worth it in my case."

For Anorexia "I had always been 100 pounds. When I had an appetite issue, my doctor prescribed this. It did work, it will make you tired, but that will start to go away. I am now 130 and rising!"

For Anorexia "I was so excited about this pill and how it helped me gain weight, but with the weight gain came a lot of other health issues that followed. I decided I needed to let you guys know what can happen to you too. I got addicted to the pills. I was always sleeping, not concentrating, and the pills were not as effective as they were in the first few months, but I couldn’t stop taking them. It caused me to get fungus on my nails, breathing became heavy, and I was always tired and sleepy. I decided to stop taking the pills which was very hard for me, but I knew if I kept taking them I would end up getting really sick, which my body was already showing symptoms of. All the weight shed after I stopped taking the pills, but I have learned to love my body. Being tired and experiencing health complications is not worth it. If you are not prescribed these from a doctor, don’t mess with your body and your health, guys!"
