For Anxiety "Klonopin has totally reduced my general anxiety, especially in social situations, and when communicating with others. It can be somewhat sedating and also makes a decent sleep aid, although I've had better ones. So overall, it's great, though. Better than Ativan, in my opinion. I take 1 to 3 mg daily."

For Anxiety "I agree, Xanax works well but in limited duration - Klonopin is better because it relaxes you for longer. Just mellows you out so you don't freak out - has changed my life and made it better. My doctor told me to let it dissolve on my tongue, since I have issues with burning tongue from a nerve injury. This has added benefits of helping me not panic about the pain and other things I feel out of control of in my life. I take a small dose and feel that I can continue taking for a while without negative side effects, though it can make you a little drowsy during the workday."

For Anxiety "This drug is pretty good. I like how 1 dose can last most of the day, but I was on 1 mg Klonopin after being on 2x2 mg lorazepam a day, and the Klonopin doesn't seem as effective. I like it because it does not cause as much drowsiness as Xanax, but it does make me a lot more drowsy than lorazepam. You can take it once a day for simplicity, but like all benzodiazepines, it is addictive. I started suffering bad panic attacks after switching, but I believe that was the mistake of my doctor by not converting the doses correctly."

For Panic Disorder "I was prescribed Klonopin for my sleeping anxiety. I just have a fear, I guess you would call it, of going to sleep. My mind constantly races over really bad things and keeps me up all night. I can't fall asleep until I'm extremely drowsy. However, this is an anxiety medication, so would I be okay to take during the day at work to calm my anxiety, or will it knock me out like it does at night? Just curious that maybe since I have the mentality that I'm going to bed soon is why it makes me so drowsy as opposed to being up and busy at work. I get overwhelmed with anxiety at work sometimes and have nothing to help with it."

For Panic Disorder "When I developed severe panic disorder, I tried Ativan. However, because my brain could feel when the medication took effect, it made me panic more. Klonopin was a lifesaver! You don't notice it taking effect until it's already working, and it was amazing! I took it daily for several months and then was able to just take it when needed. I wish this medication was not addictive because I could have benefited from it longer on a daily basis. But to be safe, I slowly dropped down frequency over 6 months. I had no issues with drowsiness or impairment. I took it while I was on Lexapro, and I still carry it with me just in case, but my panic disorder has subsided to almost none."

For Bipolar Disorder "When a person has mental symptoms, they're supposed to have a medical workup always. The reason is that many medical conditions mimic mental illness until treated. Then zero symptoms forever (mentally). If a person has myxedema (severe hypothyroidism), gets misdiagnosed as mentally ill (schizophrenia, bipolar, delusional disorder, depression, anxiety ... all common misdiagnoses in thyroid disease), Klonopin can induce coma. This happened to me, and then they realized I was not mentally ill. Had no symptoms since healing from this dreadfully dangerous drug. Read 'Physical Illness Presenting as Psychiatric Disease' before taking any psych drug. Any sedative, hypnotic, even Advil, can cause myxedema coma 40% chance death. See iatrogenic coma & other articles."

For Panic Disorder "I took Klonopin for the first time because I had a panic attack while driving on the highway. My emergency room physician prescribed me 0.5 mg prn as needed. I read some of the reviews before I took the medication. There were more negative comments than positive. So I broke the pill in half and took 0.25 mg because I didn’t know how the medication would make me feel. After I took the medication, 30 minutes later, I began to feel a warm sensation through my body. I started shaking, I was nauseated for 7 hours. Then throughout the day, I felt sedated for 2 days. During this time, I was at work and couldn’t function like I wanted to, so I had to leave my job because I didn’t feel safe at work and I couldn’t stay awake. This medication didn’t work until 8 hours later, I felt normal, back to the old me. After I took that one dose, I started having withdrawal symptoms and anxiety. I felt horrible. Please stay away from this drug."

For Panic Disorder "I find Klonopin very useful. It helps me feel less anxious than any med I've ever been on. I recommend it highly. Only one thing about it bothers me, and it's the drowsiness."

For Panic Disorder "I've been on Klonopin for about 7 years now, and it pretty much blocks any panic attacks, except for a few minor breakthrough panic symptoms now and then. Grogginess seems to be the only side effect."
