Clindamycin / tretinoin topical for Acne "I have been using Veltin gel for a week now. I haven't had any of the side effects. I use Veltin at night after washing with Cetaphil daily facial wash. I also take 50 mg of doxycycline hyclate twice a day. As a former Proactiv user, this is wonderful. I will not waste any more money on Proactiv or any other over-the-counter acne medication."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical for Acne "I had a wonderful experience with Ziana. This is the only acne medication that didn't dry out my skin after using it. I thought I would never have a good experience with acne medications. Ziana is a smooth, moisturizing acne medication that leaves your skin feeling great. With a couple of days, the redness and swelling of my acne went down significantly. I don't see myself ever using another acne medication."

For Acne "I started getting acne after I turned 40, hormonal cystic acne on the chin. I was skeptical that anything would work. Within 2 weeks on clindamycin with tretinoin, I saw a difference. Yes, it will get worse before it gets better, and it does burn and dry the skin at first, but hang in there because the results are amazing. Living with acne affects your self-esteem at any age. At 45, I would have people point and ask what happened to my face. Now, I get so many compliments on how youthful I look and how clear my complexion is. You don't need to use a lot, but make sure you cleanse well before (I use micellar water). Then I follow up with CeraVe lotion. I can't tell you how this has changed my life. I always touch my chin in amazement."

For Acne "I've struggled with hormonal/cystic breakouts for years, 4+ cysts on my face at all times. I was considering Accutane for a 2nd time when I gave this clindamycin/tretinoin gel a try - now I don't have ANY pimples and my scars are fading more every day! Having patience with this product is critical! The purging is miserable. It gets patchy dry and it's almost impossible to wear makeup without it looking funky. I started by using it on my problem areas about 2 times a week to get my face used to it, and I'd gradually increase it. Your skin will get less dry the more you use it. I wash my face using CeraVe hydrating cleanser at night, moisturize with CeraVe hydrating lotion right after, then wait about 15 minutes and apply the gel (a little goes a long way). Right when I wake up, I cleanse with CeraVe micellar water to remove the gel. I use the micellar water to take off my makeup, and I’ll use the gel in the afternoon if I’m not leaving the house. *Give this product a try and be patient, it is SO WORTH IT."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical for Acne "I am 23 years old, and since I was 17, I have been battling acne. I tried every over-the-counter gel, cream, and wash from Neutrogena to ProActiv. I had seen 2 different dermatologist offices and was constantly given prescriptions for things but never told what exactly was going on. This past September, I switched to a new dermatologist office and was prescribed Ziana along with Solodyn, a pill. I am not going to lie, the first month and a half was really hard for me. I am a teacher and felt embarrassed from how red my face was, the huge pimples that blotched my face and the peeling that was going on really took a toll on me. It is now December, and the improvement I have seen is amazing. I am looking much clearer and have no blotches!"

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical for Acne "I've used Veltin for about 3-5 months, but I get lazy, so I'll say like 2 months. I've gotten compliments about that it got better since last year, people will rate me a 7 or 8. If I used it more often, like every night, I know it would be much clearer, and you can really see the changes about a week or two, but you have to be patient."

For Acne "This gel, clindamycin/tretinoin, has completely saved my skin. I’ve had acne since I was 14 (I’m 28 now) but was able to clear up my skin around 17. Last fall, I started getting hormonal acne, so I saw a derm in January. She prescribed Treclin, a gentle cleanser, and an antibiotic I took for 40 days. My skin purged pretty badly for three weeks, but then started improving very slowly. I’d still get new zits every day, but less and less. It was around two months later that my skin finally cleared. However, I had a lot of scarring from the purge period that still made it look like my skin was bad. I started wearing sunscreen every day, my skin actually started to flourish. It’s been about a month since my skin has been completely clear, and my scarring has faded almost completely. What I used to consider oil now is more of a dewy finish that makes my skin look great. I’ve now started using less of the gel. My skin looks incredible now, three months later, and I’m so happy with the results!"

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical for Acne "I've been using Ziana since 2/2016, and this product has done wonders for me. I'm in my mid-thirties and have never suffered from acne until the last few years. I'd get these painful 'under the skin' bumps that I'd unfortunately squeeze (LEAVE THEM ALONE! Bothering them will only irritate them). I couldn't take it anymore, so I visited my dermatologist, and he prescribed me Ziana gel. For the first week, you will only use it every other day to get your skin used to it. After the first week, use it just before bed. Do not use it until nighttime because the gel oxidizes with sun exposure. Your skin will only be oily for a few months, and it helps with dark spots. Remember, less is best... Use ONLY a pea size or slightly smaller! Good luck!!!"

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical for Acne "I'm 18 and started Ziana about 6 months ago. My acne got so much worse for about 2 weeks, and my skin peeled for a couple of months (use face lotion!), but as of now, my acne is just about gone, a few occasional spots, and some peeling still, but that's okay! This stuff really works, but patience is key! As usual with a person, stress makes you break out at this age, so the medication doesn't really stop that."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical for Acne "I'm 15 and started using this around January 2013. I had mostly acne on my forehead, nowhere else. It cleared it up really well, and I had clear skin for about 3 months. Then summer started, and my hormones started acting up, and I broke out a ton on my cheeks and sort of on my forehead. I know it's not Veltin's fault, but I am taking minocycline pills with the Veltin now. All I have to say is Veltin is great, don't stop using it. It also cleared up my back acne."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical for Acne "I wrote a review yesterday, but there is limited type space and wanted to add some things. Like I said, the facial helped avoid the purging phase, and I also had derma planning done, where they remove facial hair, which helps skin absorb products. When I use the Ziana gel at night, I use one drop to cover my whole face. The first two nights, I made the mistake of using about three drops, and it made my face red. Use a washcloth to cleanse/exfoliate, this will help the peeling. Drink tons of water, use Cetaphil lotion 30 minutes to 1 hour after Ziana application, and you should be good to go. It's been one week, and my face looks great and is hardly peeling. You can also apply more lotion to the dry areas. I pat in the lotion instead of rub to help with absorption."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical for Acne "I’m 34. I have very dry skin, but I also constantly have hormonal acne around my chin and cheeks. Like every week, I had a new, huge zit on my cheek to cover. It was so humiliating! I first tried this and stopped using it because it dried my face out way too much. Then, out of disgust and desperation, I realized, ok, I have to try to clear this skin. Do NOT apply it to your whole face! Only to your problem zones and then only every other night if you're sensitive! And I sometimes do every two nights. Also, the key to me is to use your moisturizer, then apply this Veltin over that to the acne areas. Now, scarring has faded, and I have actually felt smooth cheeks and no zits popping up every other week! I feel hopeful that over time my skin will adapt even more to the product."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical for Acne "So I began using Ziana in the beginning of December 2014. Just as the others said, my skin did go through a purging process for about 2 months and a half. Almost coming to the end of the third month, I began seeing some of my acne disappear from areas I had always broken out in. Around March (4-month mark), my skin had drastically improved. However, the only side effect is my face is super oily even when I wash it in the morning, it starts to produce oil hours later. In my opinion, this is a small price to pay for clear skin. My advice to new users: stick with it no matter how awful it may seem! This medicine performed miracles for me."

For Acne "I have had acne on and off since I was a teen. It usually gets worse when I go through a big life change, a move, a new job, etc. I also get acne after eating greasy food. I have been using clindamycin and tretinoin for the past year, and the results are nothing short of amazing. Not only is my skin looking clear, but the tretinoin is amazing at repairing scars and evening out my skin tone. You have to be patient when using this product, and having a healthy lifestyle helps tremendously. I ride my bike to work (11 miles round trip) and do hot yoga. The sweating helps. I also ditched makeup and eat lots of water/vitamin-rich foods. A prescription won't solve all your problems, but doing the right things with a little RX assistance can be very effective."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical for Acne "This stuff saved my life. It took a super long time to help my acne and may have actually made it worse, but I had been dealing with cystic acne and redness for a few months, so I was desperate. After three months of using Veltin, I completely stopped breaking out, and now for the past six months I’ve been acne-free. Just be very careful-a little goes a long way, and if you overuse it, your skin will peel like you’re molting."

For Acne "I was very nervous to use this product at first, as my dermatologist told me I would get an 'initial breakout' for 2-6 weeks while using the gel. My acne mainly surfaced around my forehead in small but painful bumps. I didn't start the gel thinking at first it would clear up in a matter of weeks if I made sure to keep very good care of my skin. As the weeks continued passing, my acne was still there, in fact, it was progressively getting worse. Frankly, nothing was working. I eventually caved and ended up using the gel. Hands down, best decision I could have ever made for my skin. I, being very lucky, never got an 'initial breakout/ purge.' My skin only started to get better. As soon as 3 days after using it, I saw great improvement in my skin. It's now been around 1 1/2 months since I started using it, and my skin is better than it has been in so long. All bumps on my forehead cleared up, and other pesky pimples on my cheeks and chin. I definitely recommend."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical for Acne "I went to a dermatologist back in November. He prescribed me Ziana. I started out by using it daily, and it caused me a little redness, but it went away. It also made me break out a little when I first started using it. I think that was one of the side effects. But anyways, it's now January, and my face is looking so much better. I only have a bit of scars, but besides that, Ziana helped me out a lot, and I would recommend this to other people struggling with acne. I also took before and after pictures, and I love how my skin is looking."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical for Acne "Veltin is great for my mild/moderate acne. I have had acne for many years, trying numerous products to help. I was on Accutane, and that cleared me up, but about a year ago it started to come back. Eventually, I went to the dermatologist, and they gave me Veltin. I had amazing improvements within a day. Now, a few weeks using it, my skin is very smooth and now has the chance to heal from previous breakouts. It does not irritate my skin, and I only had minor peeling. Others' results might vary."

For Acne "I have been struggling with cystic acne mixed with blackheads on my nose specifically. My current dermatologist prescribed me Biacna (clindamycin/tretinoin). At first, it gets really bad. I've never had such bad acne purging since the start of puberty. I've never had a single forehead or temple acne since the start of puberty, and after using this prescription, I started getting them again. It got better on my 11th week of nightly usage. On my 12th week of usage, my skin was almost clear. I only had 1 cystic pimple on my forehead. I'm currently on my 14th week of usage, and the pimples I get are very small (currently have at least 6 little pimples that go away in 4 days) and could easily be covered by BB cream. I'd rather have dry patches than cheeks filled with cystic acne, so I can't complain. I'm excited to see what my skin will look like in 4 months from now. I'm also using Finacea with this, but Finacea barely helps to reduce my acne, lol; it only helps with hyperpigmentation."

For Acne "So I started using this over a year ago (I'm in Canada, so its name is Biacna, but it’s the same thing). The first month, I did apply 3x/week, and my acne got really bad, it was getting itchy, and I was getting breakouts like I did in my pre-teen years! So I changed up my whole routine, turned to Cetaphil normal skin cleanser, and used moisturizer with SPF and serum from CeraVe in the morning, and at night I used moisturizer every time I wasn’t using the cream. Oh my goodness, 2 months after that I could already see a M A J O R difference, I didn’t see my acne was that bad until I saw it improving! After that, I used it every night, but if my skin was getting flaky, I stopped it until it became okay! It’s been maybe 3-4 months I’ve stopped using it and only used it when I started to see some breakouts. My skin is not perfect because now I fight against acne scars, but my pores are empty and no big cysts on the face, yayyy."

For Acne "Honestly, I feel horrible and depressed. The acne on my face is the worst I have ever experienced in my life. Big giant whiteheads. And they hurt! It's been almost 2 months since I have been using Biacna, and my doctor says I should continue for another 3 months! The reviews here are encouraging to help me keep going to see the process through, but I honestly feel like taking all the mirrors in my house down. I literally break down in tears seeing my face in the mirror. Hopefully, this works, and I can come back to update my review."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical for Acne "I have light acne, just many little ones on my forehead, and this clears up my skin within a week every time it breaks out again. It seems to dry out the pimples and make your skin quite dry and flaky, but if you use a moisturizer after, you’ll be fine. Absolutely love this and recommend!!"

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical for Acne "I'm 20 years old, and I had severe cystic acne after my dermatologist gave me tretinoin. It was so bad, but I switched to another dermatologist because of my insurance, and she gave me Aczone and Ziana with Solodyn pills. My skin is so clear and soft, it's unbelievable. I only have some dryness around my mouth, but besides that, my skin is the best it's ever been, and I never thought I'd ever be writing a review about something actually working."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical for Acne "Just started using Ziana about a month ago on face, neck, and chest. My face has been doing great, but my neck and chest have been breaking out like crazy. I think this may be because I get regular facials and extractions, but not on my neck or chest, so there is a lot to purge. I am liking what I am seeing on the face so far. Still break out, but it seems like it is getting better. I am going to stick with it and see where it goes, will update if anything changes."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical for Acne "When my dermatologist first prescribed Ziana, it worked pretty well. I put it on at night along with taking Solodyn, an oral antibiotic, once a day. I saw improvement in my acne for about 1-2 months, but I think it's starting to wear off a little bit. But overall, it worked pretty well."
