"This drug cefdinir makes me feel like I am dying. I was prescribed Omnicef for a severe UTI that traveled to my kidneys. By day two, I am vomiting profusely, I cannot stop having diarrhea, and I genuinely feel like I am hallucinating and dying. I want to stop taking this medicine, but I cannot deal with the pain of UTIs. I’m lost. Please say no to this medication and stay away at all costs."

For Sinusitis "I started taking this for a sinus infection. The first 5 days I was fine and just added extra yogurt to my diet to be safe. By day 6, I had a little bit of diarrhea, which was expected. It turned into diarrhea every 45 minutes until I had nothing left for the next 24 hours. Then it was like my bowels were being turned inside out, and all that came out was black mucus. I immediately stopped the medication. I’ve been about 36 hours without it, and things are slowly looking up. But I have had to miss work and other events because of it. My doctor said this was safe for those that are allergic to amoxicillin, but apparently not. I do not recommend this to anyone. If you read most other reviews, it’s about the same thing."

For Bronchitis "Worst experience ever. I took one capsule and two hours later, I started diarrhea. I only took one more tablet 12 hours later. I had diarrhea for 4 weeks. I had a hemorrhoid flare-up. Never again will I take this drug. I think it took about 4 months to get my gut straightened out. Be very cautious of this drug."

For Bronchitis "I was prescribed 300 mg Omnicef. 1 capsule 2x a day. Very bad experience. I have had extreme diarrhea since the third day of taking this med. It is now 2 weeks after I finished the dose and am still experiencing problems. This med kills every 'good' bacteria in your gut. I've been taking several different kinds of probiotics trying to get myself back to normal. This has been and still is an awful experience. Do not take this unless you like running to the bathroom every 30 minutes for weeks on end. I have not been able to eat much of anything and am still losing too much weight. It is a very dangerous drug. I will NEVER take this again."

For Middle Ear Infections "This is the only antibiotic I will request for both of my children when they have ear infections. It is a one dose-a-day medicine that begins working very quickly and clears the infection. Diarrhea is a side effect, but can be controlled with diet and limiting dairy."

For Middle Ear Infections "My son has taken this before, and it worked fine. My 17-month-old daughter was just prescribed this after amoxicillin didn't take care of her ear infection. After 4 days, her gums swelled up really bad, became bright red, and then started bleeding on the 5th day. She also developed diarrhea. I immediately took her back, and they put her on Zithromax. I think we are finally on something that will work for her. My son can take this medication, but my daughter can't."

For Pneumonia "Let's talk about my sickness first. I was dipping myself into a freezing water pool for approximately 5 minutes a day. The next morning, I felt the weather was so much colder, so I knew it was a fever. I'm a very healthy person, I make sure that my body is clean. I drink a lot of water and cleaning drinks, so my stomach is always clean. The doctor prescribed me Fevadol and Omnicef. The Omnicef experience was horrible. Very bad diarrhea every 15 minutes or so, even if there was nothing in my body. I couldn't sleep for more than 24 hours with complete alertness and no feeling of exhaustion. Eating it without food will make it worse. I used it for 2 days only. The dosage was 300 mg twice a day. I got dizziness, back pain, headache, and diarrhea."

For Middle Ear Infections "My 2-year-old has been on this medication for 4 days, and yesterday she started having severe diarrhea. Her little bottom is raw from it. I have immediately called her doctor to have this medicine changed. Apparently, she cannot tolerate it."

For Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis "I get tonsillitis every year, and recently I decided to go to the doctor to get some antibiotics. He prescribed me cefdinir, and it worked great, my tonsils cleared up, but there is only one problem: the side effects. I decided to not go the full 10 days and stopped using it after a week. I developed horrible vaginal itching as well as diarrhea, which led to blood in my stool. This medication did the job, but I don't think I would ever take it again. Hopefully, since I stopped this medication, these side effects will go away soon."

For Sinusitis "This medicine made me feel worse than the original symptoms. I usually have a high tolerance for meds, don’t usually get dizzy or feel nauseous ever. But this medicine made me feel as if I was suffering from being hungover. I would drive 8 hours later after taking the meds and would feel like I could black out whenever. I would randomly feel nauseous. The headaches were a constant theme. Now that I’ve read the comments, I can attribute some of the diarrhea I had to it. I went back to the doctor and was prescribed Doxycycline, so I’m on day 4 and I feel better but still suffer from a cough."

"Great drug, one dose, and your UTI is pretty much gone, but so is all the other bacteria you need. This medication made me so violently ill. Vomiting, watery diarrhea, and stomach cramping. Had to pull over while driving to vomit (never had to do that before in my life, not even when I was pregnant). Thankfully, it has a short duration of activity in the body, so by the next day, I was okay. But this went straight into the garbage can after that."

For Middle Ear Infections "Cured the ear infection but caused horrible diarrhea that continued for a while after stopping it for my 14-month-old daughter. Very harsh on the digestive system."

For Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis "Good experience with this antibiotic, no diarrhea or any other side effects, unlike amoxicillin and others. It is also working excellently on clearing my tonsils."
