Cabozantinib "I felt miserable from the start of taking this medicine. It did more harm than good. I experienced severe diarrhea (watery and explosive). I experienced nausea at any given time of the day. I developed painful sores on the palm of my hands and on my ankles. It became difficult to brush my teeth, turn a doorknob, and even wash my hands. Any use of my hands was painful."

Cabozantinib "'This drug is not good.' My father was on 60 mg Cabozantinib for about 5 weeks with a lot of side effects. His BP is normal, but fatigue is still there, and he can't walk without support. His hands, feet, and whole body were numb. He can't walk more than 10 steps. Also, every day before or after taking food, he is vomiting, which is still continuing. His weight before we started Cometriq (Cabozantinib) was 52.5 kg, and now his weight is 45 kg. Today I decided to stop this medicine. So expensive for a medicine that does nothing. The best way to earn money is to play with people's emotions. This method is not good for the patient and the patient's family."

"My mum was diagnosed with thyroid cancer - C73 diagnosis. She has been on medication for 11 months now. As a side effect, diarrhea, sore mouth issues, not able to eat or brush her teeth, which resulted in her teeth falling out, numbness in her hands. For her, the most difficult thing is losing so much weight. Within a few months, she lost over 30 kilos, and she can't put it back on as every single piece of food is just going through her. She has been avoiding going out as she can't control her movements. We also noticed her cognitive function was very much affected when she was on 140 or 120 mg, but once the dosage was lowered to 60 mg, I got my mum back. Diarrhea is still persisting on 60 mg, and weight is not increasing. So far, the results are that it is not spreading."

"I started Cabozantinib 40 mg in June 19, 2023 for metastatic thyroid cancer to lung & bone. The first 2 months, I had no side effects, but then a bit of nausea in the morning & loss of taste. In August, the foot syndrome started. It got to the point that I could barely walk due to the painful calluses. I stopped meds for 3 days & began using steroid cream, foot soaks, & moisturizing twice a day. My feet got better, but it happened again a few weeks ago. My advice if you have this is to be diligent taking care of your feet! My PET scan showed shrinkage in lung nodules & no new bone mets. I can only hope it continues to do this. Next scan in November."

Cabozantinib "I’ve been taking it for a month. Yes, there are results, the lymph nodes have decreased, but the side effects are such that you don’t know whether it is better to take it or not to take it. Side effects include ulcers on the hands, skin peels off, and I feel like I am drunk. But by the end of the fourth week, the condition improved. I think my body is getting used to it."
