For Anxiety "I think this medication is great when you find 'your' dose, but taking too much makes you feel incredibly tired and sorta drunk."

For Anxiety "I take buspirone 10 mg 3x daily, it works very well for me for my anxiety and panic attacks. The doctor added this on to my Zoloft 150 mg daily. These meds work nicely together. Only side effects would be dry mouth, and sometimes I'm a bit more tired. It takes time to work. Give it time."

For Panic Disorder "Prescribed to me to treat anxiety and panic disorder. Couldn’t take this during the day when at work or driving. Found the best time was to take 1.5 pills early in the morning and 1.5 pills before bed. It knocks me out, and I have very heavy sleep and clear dreams. When I did take it during the day before work, it made me so dizzy and tired I felt like I was going to pass out or throw up. But those effects only last about 30 min. I take it really early in the morning and late at night so I can fall back asleep during the more dizzy times, and then I wake up completely fine! It has really helped me calm down combined with therapy."

For Anxiety "I take 10 mg twice a day, with food. The pamphlet says to take either with or without food, but be consistent. The only frequent side effect is tiredness, but I was always tired anyway. Infrequently, I will get dizzy and nauseated for about 40 minutes after taking, depending on how much caffeine I have had or how long after a meal I wait to take it. I noticed results after the first few doses, though I was warned that it may take longer. My mood has noticeably improved, as well as my ability to handle day-to-day tasks like talking on the phone. I still have situational-based anxiety, but that is more manageable than general anxiety. I have noticed that if I am a few hours late for a dose, I get irritable for the next few doses."

Buspirone for Anxiety "In a nutshell, even though I did not want this drug to work because I hate taking medicine, it really does help me! I refuse to take benzos. My therapist talked me into trying BuSpar. It made me really tired at first. But honestly, now that I look back, I think it did that because it seemed to slow my racing mind down. So naturally, once I relaxed a bit more, my body finally could rest. My anxiety is not gone. But when I am in a place where I feel safe, I am able to relax and my mind isn't so noisy. It is a strange, new feeling."

Buspirone for Anxiety "I'm on week 7. I thought I would wait until the effects kicked in to write a review. Regarding the side effects, mild nausea and lethargy for a short while after taking the medication, nothing to avoid taking the pill for. As for the results, very mild, but I notice a difference. I speak more clearly and confidently to people, and I am overall less anxious. One big thing, my constant worry about my health has subsided. I am 31 and live a healthy life, but I get a stomach ache and think I have colon cancer. These thoughts I laugh at now. I recommend taking this. Only 8 stars because it is not a cure all, only you can be."

Buspirone for Anxiety "I don't like SSRIs. The fact that BuSpar can deal with serotonin receptors without causing the loss of libido, weight gain, and tiredness makes it perfect to treat generalized anxiety. Plus, it's non-addictive unlike many benzodiazepines for panic attacks. I wish they made it in extended-release form, though my doctor said it's okay to just take my full dose in the morning - and that seems to be working fine for me. It's the only medication that focuses mainly on the brain's serotonin levels that I like."

Buspirone for Anxiety "Before BuSpar, my anxiety from post-traumatic stress disorder was very out of control. Xanax and Ativan barely touched it. My constant anxiety led to a suicide attempt because I was in constant fear, which felt like constant panic. I've taken BuSpar 15mg 3x a day for almost a month now, and I have my life back. The only side effect is a little tiredness. But I will take that over what my life was like."

Buspirone for Anxiety "Been on it a week, loving it. Yes, I'm tired, but I would rather be tired than wired up all the time. My brain has calmed down, and I'm not overthinking. So calm, still on a small dose of chlordiazepoxide."

Buspirone for Anxiety "I have currently been taking BuSpar to help with my severe anxiety and social anxiety. I am 18 years old, so some side effects I am seeing for others are not the same for me. BuSpar has helped me tremendously. My anxiety causes me to twitch and I become very jumpy. With this medicine, those symptoms do not happen. A bit of a downside with this medication is that I cannot sit down or lay down for too long without becoming extremely tired, but when I am up and constantly doing things, this medicine works extremely well. My anxiety also causes me to have a clouded mind, but with the medicine, I can finally think and feel like myself again. Another downside is about 15 minutes to 1 hour after taking the medicine, I have “brain zaps.” When I look around (with my eyes or turn my neck), it feels like I get full body shocks. Now I am used to them, but for anybody who is first taking this medicine, it can be scary. I am currently on 5 mg and only take it once a day, which works fine for me."

For Anxiety "Been on this medication for a month now. I take 5 mgs 3x a day. The side effects when I first started taking it were just brain zaps and a bit of tiredness. Compared to other meds I’ve been on, way less side effects. After about 2 weeks, I started to notice some positive effects. Now at 4 weeks, I feel like this medication really does take the edge off. It doesn’t seem to make the thoughts go away (so far), but it lessens the physical effects of the anxiety. Only thing is I have had some mild on-and-off static in my ears, but it’s really manageable in comparison to the horrible anxiety I was having before being on this med."

For Anxiety "I was very nervous to take any medication, but after trying therapy, some meditation, and self-help, I decided to try buspirone. Other stuff helped to some extent. I was so anxious. To start, I split 7.5 pills in half and started at 7.5 mg a day. After a month, I increased it to 3 times a day. Again, I split 7.5 in half, so I'm taking 3 times a day for a total of 11.25 mg a day total current dosage last (6) months. Pros: I did start to feel less anxious, I didn't overreact to stress like I used to. I still get anxious, but it's probably decreased by about 60-70%, which is fine. Some anxiety is fine. I'm glad I take it. Cons: I do feel tired, especially the first month or two, and sometimes still. I currently added bupropion (Wellbutrin) for depression."

Buspirone for Panic Disorder "I've been on this medication for about eight months for both panic disorder and anxiety, 30 mg twice a day. Just so people know, it takes roughly six weeks to kick in fully, so if you haven't felt anything yet, you need to give it time before you try something else. While it does make me very tired after I take it for about 30-40 minutes, it doesn't make me chronically tired like I was while on antidepressants. A short nap definitely helps if I'm not doing anything in the morning. It's absolutely brought my level of anxiety way, way down to a manageable level, especially after getting to the maximum dose. I'm functioning normally for the first time in years and I love it."

For Anxiety "I've been taking this medication for two days, and I'm already feeling a little happier and calmer. The only thing I have an issue with is I take this in the morning and in the evening. When I take it, I feel very weak and tired for thirty minutes to an hour after. I have pretty much passed out for like an hour after I've taken it. When I wake up, though, I feel pretty good, so I'll take the nap. It's worth it, lol. Very satisfied with this drug so far."

Buspirone for Anxiety "My son is in high school and has taken this for 7 months. It changed his life. His anxiety over school was out of control to the point he had to be integrated back into school. He tried Ativan and had horrible side effects, and he was reluctant to try anything else after that. After about 3 months on the BuSpar, he walks tall into school. No more looking over his shoulder or panic attacks out of nowhere. We wish he would've taken this years ago. The only side effect he complains of is tiredness and occasional headache. The tiredness was more so in the beginning. Those side effects are minuscule compared to his anxiety before taking BuSpar."

For Anxiety "This medicine has made my life bearable again. I felt broken for a long time because of my mind constantly cycling through worries. I would think through a problem and just get stuck there for, sometimes, hours at a time. I could not turn it off on my own. I would try to distract myself, but as soon as I was reminded about my worries, I would be right back into the spiral. I was having heart palpitations and was very irritable before this medicine. This medicine doesn’t numb me, I still have a healthy amount of worry. I’m able to get things done much easier now. I’ve never been more grateful to be on a medication, and I’ve tried several for different diagnoses. This one has helped me the most. I didn’t have many side effects when first starting, other than maybe being more tired than normal, but I was already so exhausted all the time from being stuck in my head that the tiredness wasn’t startling to me."

For Anxiety "Started the medication a few months ago and has dramatically changed my life. Diagnosed with PTSD and with the anxiety, it ruined my life until this med. I don’t have to take depression meds anymore because it’s helped me not overthink, and I’ve been able to regulate my emotions easier. Mixed with hydroxyzine for panic, it’s like a perfect mix to make me feel like a normal person. Side effects I experienced are lack of concentration the first hour, and I become a bit tired, but taking a nap or taking it at night will help a lot. If you’re new to medications, I would recommend taking one at night before recommending twice a day, so your body gets used to being tired, but the tired feeling only lasts for an hour or two."

Buspirone for Anxiety "Buspirone saved my life! Several times in the past years. It's a lifesaver and life changer. I was terrified to start taking it at first due to the horrible reviews I would read, but everyone's different. And I really needed help with my severe anxiety/panic attacks, so I started taking it and hoped for the best. It was the best decision I've made. I started taking 7.5 mg twice a day and felt the difference the next day, taking 15 mg twice a day when needed to. I had mild side effects for the first week: headaches, tiredness, vivid dreams, but all tolerable. The first 3 days being the worst, but went away. Within the first week, I felt so much better and just got better after that. Felt more calm, less anxiety, no overthinking, no more intrusive thoughts, better sleep, and it's not habit forming, which is a plus for me. It really works, I recommend it if you really want to help yourself. Don't be scared of the side effects or reviews and push through it. It really works. I'm so thankful for it."

For Anxiety "I have mild (sometimes severe) anxiety. I’m a college student, and I work in the medical field, so I wanted something that could cure my anxiety but not change me as a person and make me become someone I wasn’t (drowsy, lethargic, inattentive) like I've heard many anxiety medications can make people. I needed something to keep me calm but clear-minded. I’m taking 10 mg. I am a relatively small female, so I was a bit worried it might make me dizzy or tired, instead, it truly saved me. My anxiety and worry and overthinking were really taking over my everyday life. Now I feel clear-minded and calm without feeling like I'm drugged up. It feels genuine. This is the help I needed. Anyone who has rated this drug poorly, it’s because they wanted something harder like alprazolam (Xanax), lorazepam, diazepam, etc. which sometimes is needed for people going through more traumatic experiences like PTSD. But if you have pretty general anxiety, this will 100% help you."

Buspirone for Anxiety "BuSpar was the first drug after 7 SSRIs that truly saved my anxiety. I thought I was never going to get better. I was plagued by anxiety and panic so badly every day. Benzodiazepines worked but were only able to be used for the short term. I could feel it working in my brain after one dose. It continually got better. Some minor dizziness & feeling tired. Other than that - anxiety gone. Thank the Lord!"

For Anxiety "I had been taking Buspirone on and off for about a year at a dose of 5mg-15mg per day and felt disappointed after all I had read it could do. It did have a numbing effect on the GAD but it was definitely still there, and I felt more tired than it was really worth. However, my doctor and I pushed the dose to 40mg/day, and that's when it really started to work (like flicking a switch). The GAD is gone like it was never there (which is strange at first but also wonderful), and I am really no more tired than at 15mg (feeling better gives you a lot of energy). Buspirone isn't the one for everyone, but it can be life-changing."

For Anxiety "Been taking buspirone for 3 weeks, 7.5 mgs 3 times a day. Helped tremendously with my generalized and social anxiety. First week or so had side effects consisting of headaches, dizziness, tiredness, and lack of motivation throughout the day. But that all went away with the exception of slight dizziness for 30 mins or so after taking it. When it happens, it comes and goes fast. Doesn't always happen. My anxiety is almost non-existent. I can concentrate better, especially in conversations, which before, my mind would wander then race when talking to others. This turns into anxiety attacks. Buspirone helps my mind stay focused on the conversation. I'm more confident in these situations. So far, this drug is exactly what I needed."

For Anxiety "Buspirone saved my life, it helped me sleep. I can take it or leave it without withdrawal. Its help stabilizes my mood in regards to BPD. The only negative thing is it can make you tired. This is not so good with my fibromyalgia symptoms. Although it makes me rest and thus pain is lesser, after a few days I can miss the morning dose and do a few more things than I would be able to otherwise. It's also helped me stop cannabis, which I used to use to relax. Thus, I'm finally at the stages of complete smoking cessation, including tobacco. My breathing is easier. I look forward to cutting back. I have been on it for 2 years following major trauma and PTSD. It also helps with depression."

For Panic Disorder "This medication saved me! I was having daily panic attacks that were very physical and completely out of nowhere. I would think I was not getting a full breath. I would think that my chest was tightening and my body would go numb. My mind would become fuzzy, and I would be paralyzed with fear. It happened during my classes, in movies, when I was out to eat, and I started feeling bad that those around me had to deal with me. Eventually, I just knew that it was a panic attack, and I would cry until it passed every day in the nurse's office at school. This was 5 years ago, and I have been on buspar ever since! I have not had ONE bad panic attack in 5 years. I would advise taking it before bed, it makes you feel weird and tired, like dead weight."
