"I started smoking at age 9. Smoking a lot by age 13. Started driving an 18-wheeler at age 23. Four to five packs a day depending on whether I had to work 23 or 24 hours in a day. In December of 1999, I took Zyban for I think a month. From what I can remember, it made me a little nuts at times as well as violent. I understand it changes the addictive center in your brain, but it changed my personality as well. The second week, I relapsed for one day and then none after that. Seventeen years and not one cigarette. Still wanted one once in a while but never enough to light one up. I only wish I had done it sooner before my lungs went COPD. Make no mistake, I would be long dead if I had not quit. (A coffee can full of phlegm a day)"

"I'm a former smoker of 16 years and have been not smoking because of Zyban for one week so far and haven't looked back. The medicine definitely helps the vicious cravings, however, it still takes willpower, and you have to truly want to quit. Side effects are minimal. Make sure your second dose of the day is not at nighttime, as it will keep you up for most of the night. Other than slight jitters (like a caffeine rush), I'm not experiencing anything major. The caffeine rush feeling has cut down on my coffee intake, so another plus! Coffee is a trigger for me to want to smoke, so more power to Zyban!"

"Given Zyban to help me stop smoking and it worked. I quit smoking, drinking tea, and sodas too. To this day, I do not want to smoke or drink tea or sodas. I didn't know that I would feel so good too. I didn't feel depressed anymore. I felt content with life. The only drawback I experienced was some dizziness."

"I tried Zyban twice after smoking for about 20 years, a pack a day. The first time, I could feel my urge to smoke lessening, but after about a week on the medicine, one day I felt exhausted. I slept for 14 hours; the next day I woke up and felt so, so down and depressed. Since I had done my research prior to taking this, I knew what it was. I called a doctor and stopped the medicine. A year later, I decided to try again. This time, I had no such thoughts. After about 5 days, I felt the urge to smoke going away, and on day 7, I lit one up, wondered why I was doing this, and put it out. Never looked back. I stayed on Zyban for about a year. That was two and a half years ago. No cravings. No cheating. Amazing."

"Quit using Zyban over 29 years ago. Quitting with Zyban was the easiest thing to do. Tried to quit by all of the other methods without success. All I did was follow the directions faithfully and changed my routine for the first morning only. I never looked back or had those ghost cravings. I found I was able to have the occasional cigar without issue. Totally recommend this method... Weaned myself off Zyban by just forgetting to take the meds more frequently as time went on."

"Started taking 150 mg (so just the one pill in the morning) 3 days ago, and I am shocked! I've had more energy, less anxiety (I have an anxiety disorder and panic attacks normally), feel happier, and I don't feel like smoking much. I go hours without a smoke, yet I used to smoke 30 cigarettes a day! I'm only on day 3! Tomorrow, I am supposed to step up to 2 pills, and I assume I won't want a smoke at all. Brilliant pill. Wish I could stay on it, as I feel amazing!"

"Smoked 30 years. Never thought I could ever quit! Tried this product recommended by my doctor. Felt a bit high and forgetful, a bit my general patience was less. But after 1 month, I have stopped using Zyban and have quit 100%. Really is a miracle pill!!!!!"

"I was given Zyban to stop smoking. After three days, I realized I had not smoked or wanted to in two days. It was that fast. I had no side effects that I remember and stopped taking it after two weeks. It's been close to 10 years now and I have absolutely no craving or desire to smoke. At the time I began Zyban, I had smoked over a pack a day for about 14 years."

"Zyban is a very strange feeling. I have been on it for three days, and my urges are way down. I still fight triggers like coffee and post-eating, but even when I tried to smoke, it tasted very strange and made me feel a little dizzy. We'll see how the next couple of weeks go, but I'm excited to quit! The only drawback is it is really hard to fall asleep."

"I have written 2 reviews about hair loss suffered because of this drug. This website had posted the second review I wrote, but it has since been taken down. Sounds like this website is getting paid by drug companies to skew the results. NOT HAPPY! Obviously, you're not going to post this. But you are ruining your own reputation by only posting certain reviews. It's obvious to the public."

"I am completely marvelled by what has happened thus far. Zyban for me is a wonder drug. Honestly, I tried Champix 4 times with no results. The time I was so determined to quit that I added patches as well and had a nicotine spray. Yeah, that's how much it did not work. Zyban has, by day 9, I was not smoking. I can't believe that I went without a smoke for 1 day let alone 7 weeks now. I am thrilled at the results. The first 2 weeks on Zyban were a little difficult to adjust, but I just persevered with the mild side effects and here I am to say yay, just yay. 10 out of 10. Recommend Zyban over Champix all day every day. I was a smoker for nearly 50 years. Thanks Zyban..."

"After trying everything I could find and following 40+ years of smoking, my GP helped me and prescribed Zyban. Now, 11 years later, I am so grateful after all my unsuccessful attempts with every kind of cessation aid I could find."

"I took Zyban in 2001. The first 10 days were fine, but once I started taking 2 a day, I went into anaphylactic shock and also had a seizure, which then landed me in the hospital. I was 20 years old and had no previous history of seizures. Also, once the hives went away, and the prednisone and Benadryl wore off from being in the hospital, I still had skin sensitivity and seriously bad joint pain for almost 2 weeks. I know this is rare, but be careful. Now, just to be safe, I tell doctors and pharmacists that I’m allergic to Wellbutrin/bupropion/Zyban."

"I used Zyban to quit smoking, and after 2 weeks, I no longer had the urge to smoke. I've been smoke-free for over 23 years. I don't understand why it's not on the market to help people stop smoking. I smoked over 40 years and 2-3 packs a day."

"Smoked for 22 years. I was one of those smokers who tried to quit lots but then resigned to the excuse that I loved to smoke. Just over a week ago, I mentally decided that I was not a smoker. I started Zyban on the second day I quit and smoked 2 that day, one the next, and half the next. That last half, I knew it was the last. As with these other stories, I was addicted. Tried everything: Champix, patches, quit help lines, and support, etc., so I was skeptical but determined. I really cannot believe how well it has worked. I'm not grumpy, no cravings, and no side effects as yet. I also take the gum with it, but it's not a need, just a backup. Can't recommend this enough."

"The first week I had some very brief agitation (day 4) that lasted for about 30 minutes. By the end of the first week, my cravings were nearly gone. I am down to only 1 to 3 uses per day, which is a major reduction for me. I plan to be completely done by day 20. No other side effects. Not feeling any nicotine withdrawal symptoms. I plan to use the Wellbutrin full strength for 1-2 weeks after quitting entirely and then begin the taper process. Amazing product."

"At first, had lots of energy, and my concentration was great. Got a weird metallic taste in my mouth after I smoked and started to lose the temptation. I slowly started becoming more aggressive and agitated. On about the 5th day, I had hallucinations, freaked out, and stopped taking it."

"I found Zyban to be very effective and easy to use. I only experienced a few mild side effects (slight constipation, food tasted a bit different). But I'd tried quitting before using gum, microtabs, patches - and none of these worked for me. Thanks to Zyban, it's been over four months since I smoked a cigarette and haven't turned back - proud to be a non-smoker!"

"After trying many things, such as chewing gum, patches, hypnosis, etc., to stop smoking, I took Zyban in June 2000. Before the end of the course, I had stopped craving cigarettes and became a non-smoker. It took 9 days, and I had no side effects at all. It was the best thing I'd ever done."

"Okay, so I started taking this to assist me in quitting tobacco. You do have to WANT to quit, but a lot of people have the effect where one day cigarettes taste like licking a dumpster. My brother quit overnight due to this effect alone. Now, as for me, I was hoping so bad that would happen; it hasn't, and I'm still smoking, but I've cut back, and now I realize this drug has made the nicking go away completely; now it is all habitual. My husband smokes, so it's around... he's going to quit next week. I went on a 7-hour airplane trip with my sleep-deprived toddler. Absolutely no nicking; this drug is phenomenal in that way. I'm hoping the taste effect may still happen for me. I'm losing 6 lbs a week, though. I do have GAD also."

"I tried to quit on many occasions prior to using Zyban. My friend who smoked 2 packs a day quit using this drug, which totally amazed me. I am a very cheap person, and when a carton of generic cigarettes went up to $15.00 (which by today's prices is cheap, but not then), I swore I had wasted enough money harming my lungs. I started Zyban and set my quit date for 2 weeks. On the last day before that date, I was sitting around and realized I had not had a cigarette all day, and I haven't had one since. That was 19 years ago. I would highly recommend Zyban to quit smoking now before any more damage is done to your lungs. The cost of the medicine is no more than the cost of a carton of cigarettes for a month."

"I used to smoke at least 2 packets per day for almost 20 years. I severely tried to quit without success. It was in 2001 while visiting a doctor friend when I learned about the wonder drug Zyban and decided to give it a try. I took 1 tablet per day for 1 week and have never looked back. No craving and no side effects. After 1 week of no smoking at all, I gave the rest of the medication to a friend. The way I think Zyban has a degree of success is when an individual also desires and is determined to quit. All I needed was 3 days of no smoking."

"I'm glad I'm not alone after reading some of the comments and side effects. The first week was fine with 1 pill a day, second week I took 2 pills a day, yes, I had no cravings. However, I couldn't function normally. I felt mad, anxious, couldn't sleep, was grinding my teeth, and couldn't focus. Today, I didn't take the second pill, and I feel normal for the first time in a week. I decided not to take it anymore, I'll buy the patches. It's too bad because it does eliminate your cravings."

"Been smoking since I was 10, now I'm 51. Smoking most of my life and enjoying the fags of 40 a day. I'm still on Zyban tablets, as I've gone nearly 2 weeks without a cigarette. It's hard, but these tablets are the only thing that seems to be working, as I've tried everything else and still smoked. I hope to be able to say I've finally given up, and for once I think I'm getting there, thanks to Zyban."

"I was prescribed Zyban by my physician to aid in quitting smoking. I was super excited to get it because I would finally get the help I needed to kick the habit for good. I read some awesome reviews and was confident this would be it. I was instructed to take one a day for the first few days and then begin taking one twice a day. I felt okay at first, but once I started taking two a day, I began to experience side effects. Headaches, waking up feeling hungover, extreme nausea, confusion and fogginess, muscle tenderness, and definite weakness... almost as if my brain was telling me I couldn't move if I tried, and I became literally too lazy to try. I was super disappointed, it just wasn't for me."
