For Major Depressive Disorder "I tried several different drugs that didn’t work very well for me and was starting to get frustrated. Auvelity began working within one week and has helped me IMMENSELY. I am finally able to get through the day without crying. My panic attacks have lessened. I am excited about my future (can’t remember the last time that happened). It is very expensive but there is a voucher to get it for $10! Search Auvelity $10 voucher/coupon and show it to your pharmacist"

For Major Depressive Disorder "I stumbled serendipitously on the combo of Delsym and Wellbutrin after a Covid infection a few weeks ago and was prescribed Auvelity after observing I felt much better with that DIY version. Over the last 3 weeks, I have felt better than I have felt in the last 10 years. I've tried many antidepressants and they must work to some extent (because I felt worse when I’ve tried to stop them) but I was still very tearful, ruminative, irritable, hopeless... like Eeyore, but with anxiety."

For Major Depressive Disorder "Going to say this is the best medicine I have taken in a long time. Been on them all, and all stopped working as I'm very resistant to medicine. I'm very hopeful that Auvelity will be a game changer for me."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have suffered with MDD for years and have tried numerous medications without success. I was hesitant to take Auvelity because I didn't want to be let down by yet another medication that didn't help me. However, to my surprise, within a week I noticed an improvement in my MDD symptoms. I've been taking it for 3 months now and I cannot picture going back to a life without it. The only noticeable side effect is short bouts of mania, but they don't impair my ability to work and function in my day-to-day life."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have taken antidepressants my entire adult life, since they first became available (Elavil), with varying degrees of success. Finally, about 11 years ago, I was dosed correctly with a cocktail of five drugs, and I did well for almost 10 years. Then last fall, I noticed that the depression seemed to be creeping back in, for no apparent reason. I was afraid to have my meds changed because I was afraid I would get even worse if they were changed, but finally, I became suicidal and knew something had to be done. After a frank talk with my prescriber, she said she had a new med for MDD that she would give me samples of - Auvelity. I didn't hold out much hope, but on DAY ONE, I felt less anxious and steadier, mood-wise. I couldn't believe it. And I have done better ever since. My only problem was, I can't take two in a 24 hr. period - too much sleepiness. But I seem to be doing great on one! This is a miracle drug, but why it's so expensive is beyond me. Still, I'll take it!"

For Major Depressive Disorder "It has been amazing. I felt better just 2 days later. My psychiatrist suggested a placebo effect, but the change has been too significant for that. My brain is quiet and I feel at peace. I've been on it for about 2 months."

For Major Depressive Disorder "This antidepressant has caused severe dizzy spells for hours on end, even after having taken it for a week. It also has increased my anxiety and also seems to be making my tinnitus significantly louder. Not impressed."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I suffer from medicine-resistant depression and PTSD and have been taking Auvelity in addition to other antidepressants for about 3-4 months. I initially felt better for the first month but then I regressed again. It was frustrating as I had just refilled Auvelity with a $100.00 co-pay. I believe that this medication could work for people without resistance, it just didn't work for me."

For Major Depressive Disorder "Complete life-changer. After 40 years of trying multiple treatments, including ECT, this med works wonderfully. By virtually eliminating my depression (rumination, negative self-talk, hopelessness), the anxiety also disappeared. After decades of ingesting all sorts of chemical cocktails to treat depression, I now take only Auvelity, amlodipine, and vitamin D3, and honestly, have never felt better. Only ECT has worked this well for me. My Sjogren's symptoms are not as aggravating, and life itself is much brighter. I felt Auvelity working within a week and have been taking it twice a day for 4 months now. The only “side effect” has been that I need to take the second dose at least 8 hours before bed or I can get jittery when unwinding for the night."

For Major Depressive Disorder "Unfortunately this medication made me really sick. The side effects described came on after 10-12 days on the full dose. Severe anxiety, loss of appetite, headaches. All came together with severity so be careful with this drug. I had never experienced this before and it was awful."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have had some success with Wellbutrin (Bupropion), but after a number of years, I seemed to have developed a tolerance. An increase in dosage caused me to have anxiety. I was hopeful Auvelity would help as it has similar properties. Sadly the smallest dose created overwhelming anxiety that felt like I had taken a high dose of Wellbutrin. Although one should not expect half a sustained release, I was hoping it would reduce the anxiety. Auvelity I felt gave me more energy and even curbed hunger which was a positive. Though sadly I still had severe anxiety, was jittery, and my heart was pounding. I couldn’t continue and went back to regular bupropion while searching for something else."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I've been on Auvelity for 2 weeks now. I swear I felt a difference on day 1 but wanted to wait a while to see if it lasted or if I got any side effects. I can see the beauty in things again & catch myself smiling a lot. I've been majorly depressed since 2012!! This has been a life changer so far. I even have it in me to get up and take care of myself or complete a task that needs done. I'm almost back to who I was before the trauma and MDD. If you've tried a ton of other antidepressants that didn't work, ask your dr about Auvelity! Also, my anxiety has lessened greatly on this med. I don't take my Xanax as nearly as much as I used to before Auvelity. I also take Zoloft (200 mgs a day) still for depression."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I’ve recently added Auvelity to my repertoire of meds. Sertraline has been very affective for my anxiety but I’ve still been struggling with depression. I’m about three weeks in and I can definitely say I’ve noticed some improvements in my depression. I’d say it took close to three weeks before I noticed a response and not the one week it says. Side effects have been minimal and I don’t notice any currently. So far I’m happy and I feel my depression lifting. Hoping this continues to work. Was on Wellbutrin for over a year and had no results with that. And tried a series of antidepressants, mood stabilizers and antipsychotics."

For Major Depressive Disorder "Right before being prescribed Auvelity, I was probably at my lowest. I saw no hope, no purpose, no point in continuing to fight what felt like a never-ending uphill battle. My psychiatrist switched me from Wellbutrin to Auvelity, and I didn’t feel any change for about a week. I was really discouraged, as I had read that change is usually felt within a few days on this med. Just after the 1-week mark, things changed. I felt lighter, things felt easier. Day by day, my entire view on life started changing. I wasn’t terrified of the future, I wasn’t dreading each and every day, I wasn’t hoping I would be a victim of some great accident to end my suffering. It sounds dramatic and it is, but this med has done so much for me. I am just over a month in and I literally would not be here if I had not started this medication. My only downside is the cost and access of this medication, due to insurance not covering this and the manufacturer coupon not working without it. Fingers crossed."

For Major Depressive Disorder "My psychiatrist said a relatively new medication is helping patients like me. I've tried many anti-depressants over 12 long, frustrating years and never saw results that were anything better than slight improvement of some symptoms. Then even the tiny improvements would disappear after a few months. From what I've read so far about Auvelity, my current symptoms and psychiatric history are in line with the kind of patient this medication is designed to help. That being the case, I am writing this review the day before I begin taking Auvelity and want to update my experience in real time. In 12 years of seeking relief from overwhelming depression, this is the first I've ever heard of a depression medication that takes fewer than 8 weeks to show any results. I'm encouraged by the clinical results I've looked into. I'm giving a 10/10 rating because it won't allow me to not choose a number, and I don't want to drag the average down if this ends up being amazing. (If not, I will say so!)"

For Major Depressive Disorder "I've struggled with depression for 30 years. Over the years, many medications have helped, but many have not. Last May, I had been doing well for many years when a health condition derailed me. Changed some meds, did not work. There are so many things to implement to help one's depression, and medication is one of those. I have been on Auvelity for 3 1/2 weeks, started on a half dose, or one pill a day for three weeks, and increased to the normal dose yesterday. When depression "lifts", I can usually feel it lift. This medication has really helped me, I am encouraged. Don't be afraid to try this medication because it's something new, give it time. The one-week quick fix didn't really work for me, it's taken a good 14 days or so, but better than 8 weeks only to feel zero improvements. The health savings card really helps, it pays $4,000 per calendar year. The side effects have been diarrhea, but it's better, I don't feel jazzed up. I can focus better, humor is better."

For Major Depressive Disorder "This drug was a life saver, literally if you know what I mean. Six months on Prozac (20 mg) after depression sudden onset was a disaster with trembling, brain fog, chest pounding anxiety, an eye floater, and gastrointestinal issues. Auvelity started to improve my mood within three days and got better once Prozac was out of the system over about a month. The early side effects were some weird tired feeling in my legs that went away after a few weeks. There is some mild shakiness a few times a day. Today I tentatively feel like a normal person again and almost like who I was before the depression onset after about 10 weeks of 1 tablet per day. Going to 2 gave me some anxiety, it seems 1 tablet is good enough for me. There is some fatigue associated with the drug but it is mild and not everyday. I was lucky to get prescribed Auvelity."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I met with a new psychiatrist last week and explained that in the past 24 years I've tried almost every antidepressant but the MAOIs. Nothing helped longer than a month. I stayed on Lexapro since it helped with the irritability, but that went away years ago. He told me about a new antidepressant that is unlike SSRIs in that it takes effect very quickly, rather than weeks or months. I had basically given up any hope, but still agreed to try it. I'm on day 6 and I can already feel it working in a positive way. I have more energy, doing basic tasks don't feel like a major chore, my hygiene has improved, and I started to laugh again. It has been so long since something struck me as funny I thought I would never feel it again. I've also stopped grinding my teeth. I know it has only been a week, and based on past experiences it possibly could fizzle. I am just praying that it doesn't, because I actually feel like a human again."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I've tried so many different antidepressants. This one has made my mood lighter. I feel not so sad. Less crying spells. More motivation to feel like going out and doing something. Not so much hopelessness. More humor. More feeling like being social. (Forgot to say I'm on my second month of this med.) The downside is minimal. When I do yard work or housework - I sweat way more than I used to. Sometimes a little clumsy. Slightly confused at times. A little more forgetful. A little more hungry, but no major weight gain. For me, this med has been a lifesaver. I have enjoyment where before I had very little. I've had some sexual side effects which I don't like. All in all - much improved. Much better. Hope this helps!"

For Major Depressive Disorder "This stuff is amazing. I'm actually taking Wellbutrin 150 mg 2/day and 30 mg pure DXM tabs 2/day for a couple of months now. I'm 51. I've tried Zoloft, Paxil, was on Lexapro for many years, but nothing even comes close to this - cough medicine! I discovered this Wellbutrin/DMX combo by accident when I had a nasty cold and was taking DXM on top of the Wellbutrin. The negative self-talk, the depression, the suicidal ideation, all went away. I hope it continues!!"

For Major Depressive Disorder "At first, I thought I had found a winner. For the first few days, I was getting out for daily walks, more motivated with work, laughing more, and drinking a lot less - and no side effects! But then the benefits gradually disappeared, replaced by crippling insomnia and anxiety about a week after going up to two doses a day. I didn't sleep for four days straight; I was falling down walking to the bathroom and had double vision. It was really scary. I had to ask for a short course of Ativan or else end up in the ER. The insomnia resolved by dropping back to one dose, then the anxiety resolved immediately after discontinuation. Please be advised that there is no safe way to taper down from the starter dose (it's timed release), and most compounding pharmacies don't take insurance. So I got off cold turkey. I had only been on it a month, but after three days, I got brain zaps (manageable) for a couple days, and anxiety and disorientation for several that have only just resolved. Good luck."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have been on antidepressants all my life. I have taken all medications available in the market. I started Auvelity 3 days ago. I was tod to stop my two other antidepressants the day I started Auvelity. I have an enormous feeling of anxiety and despair. I am extremely depressed, unmotivated, flat affect I don't want to do anything except for to hide under the covers. The only problem is that my body won't allow me to relax because I have anxiety and restlessness. It's Sunday. I will stick with the medication but I think I feel worse"

For Major Depressive Disorder "I was very hopeful Auvelity would work for me but unfortunately, I experience the very rare serious side effects. The first day I took it I felt dizzy and drunk with a small increase of anxiety. The next day I took it I felt the same experience with added paranoia. I was in the middle of a busy Costco so it was not fun (thankfully I didn't drive myself there). It made me feel so intoxicated that I could barely form sentences. I thought my body would be getting used to it so I took it on day 3 after work. Holy hell it took me on a ride. I was dizzy, felt drunk/high, anxious, paranoid, and now delusional. I thought my bf was mad and breaking up with me but later confirmed that it wasn't remotely true. It takes a few hours to wear off and after I have poor memory of things that happened during. I had real mental clarity the next day that I haven't felt in years so it's a shame I had to stop taking it. It's 100% worth a try but don't drive until you know how it affects you! Good luck!"
