"I have experienced migraines for 40 years now. They are hereditary from my mother's side. I did have a hysterectomy, and the migraines did not leave. I love the Butalbital compound/tablet, it is the only thing that gives me relief from a migraine. I have been given every new drug that comes on the market, and I have an allergic reaction, sending me at times to the emergency room. I like to stay with something I know works, gives me relief where I can function and go on with my life."

"Life was awful due to never-ending migraines. Went on vacation and never left my room. I was just dreading the thought of driving home. I used to take Midrin, which mostly worked until the U.S. government outlawed it. Then, 2 Excedrin and 1 Aleve with poor results and an upset feeling. I finally went to a doctor who eventually prescribed Butalbital, and it worked. 39 years later, I'm still taking it. Some days need 2 for 90% relief and most days 1. I do have 2-3 day periods where I don't need it at all. Went on Medicare and had problems getting it even with a doctor's letter. 10 years later, a simple letter does the trick. I hope my letter helps someone get relief from their migraines!"

"I have had migraines since I was 13, I will be 76 this month. They started during my monthly cycle but then progressed. I now suffer from them on a regular basis. I have been on so many medications, doctors retire, then the next doctor says stop this, try that. Butalbital is the only medication that gives me any relief at all."

"This is my old faithful! Works fairly quickly and takes the pain away almost completely... Most doctors don't give you more than 15-20, and if you run into a spell that's longer than a few days, then they want you to try something else."

"Have used Butalbital for 8 years. The only drug that has ever worked to alleviate migraine pain. Now it won't be prescribed because it is classified as a 'rescue drug.' Well, so 'rescue me' from the pain I've experienced from my late teens until now, age 64! I have run the gamut of the other migraine meds - 18 - at last count. Even called the FDA to no avail."

"I never had headaches until after giving birth to my second child. When she was around 3 or 4, I had my first REAL stress/cluster/migraine medication and had to go to the hospital. After that, I discussed it with my mother, who has had them for many years. She told me about the Butalbital. I requested it and was finally pain-free and able to work (business owner in marketing and PR, on radio and TV, events, seminars, etc. - so not easy to cancel) with no 'weird' feeling. 20 years later and countless 'specialist' visits and experiments, I'm sticking with Butalbital. It's the ONLY thing that I know will work - stress adds to my headaches. Mom is in her 90s and amazing, so if it's bad for you - wow, she's a shining example of life without headaches!!! Most people are shocked to hear I suffer from them, I am energetic and very active."

"I am now 72, and I have had migraines since I was young. The worst migraines started when I was in grad school but were episodic (related to the menstrual cycle). They kept getting worse. When I was pre-menopausal, they converted to chronic migraine (15 or more/month); I started using Butalbital about 25 years ago. I've tried everything else, including 'natural substances,' and only Butalbital works to interrupt the cycle, so I can function daily!"

"I've been taking this combination for my migraines for over 20 years. Though the dose is higher, yet it relieves the migraine every time. The only medication that works for me. Trying natural herbs to see how they will help."

"I’ve been taking this for years! I’ve been getting migraines since age 11, and still get them almost daily! This medicine works great for treating migraine at onset. I also take Imitrex tablets and injections when I wake up with a migraine. I’ve been through so many types of meds (natural and prescribed), but this works the best! I feel like I have to jump through hoops to get it prescribed, though! Doctors don’t like to prescribe because it has butalbital! Smh!"

"Butalbital is my go-to migraine medicine! Thank goodness my OBGYN prescribes it for me. Aspirin and a cold Coca-Cola help with light headaches. A good night's sleep and a regular sleep cycle are critical. When you wake up, slowly ease up on 2 pillows and then get up 1-2 minutes later."

"I've always used butalbital/Tylenol/caffeine combo. I have found that the manufacturer depends on how well it works for me. When it's a good manufacturer, it works very well. Still wondering if this has Tylenol, why do my ears ring? If too much Motrin, they ring, and I never take aspirin. Anyway, that's my experience."

"I have been taking this medication since 1992 due to an auto collision causing spinal injury. It's been the only thing to work for both my spinal pain and migraines. About 5 years ago, I started seeing that my prescription was coming from a company named Hikma Mfg. That's when an issue of extreme dizziness occurred. In 2021, I discovered that the company Hikma Mfg from Jordan (not USA) was buying up as many pharma companies as it could. Their name was no longer on the bottles, but I knew they were behind the mfg. of a particular bottle when I became extremely dizzy. Since then, the medical system I have has agreed to let me find companies that are not owned by Hikma, and so, I have no adverse reaction to the medication. I can no longer find posts of over 10 years from patients talking about their adverse reactions from Hikma owned companies. I reported to the FDA but was ignored. I would like to know if anyone else had had this happen to them or knows someone who has."

"Been on a combo of Fioricet, tramadol, Flexeril. Worked great. Was on for more than 25 years, now can't find a doctor to prescribe them. They act like the barbiturate in it is as dangerous as codeine or cocaine. Really? Been on it most of my life. I was on a pretty high dose, 2 Fioricet, 2 tramadol, one Flexeril all 3 times daily. But, not near the migraines I do now. Oh, don't forget the Zofran for nausea. I have a migraine now and it lasts 4 days. Nothing to take but ibuprofen, so hard on my esophagus and stomach."

"Dosed 6 by itself every 6-hour dosing, exclusively in the past. Now I generally am prescribed 2.5 mg PO hydromorphone between each Fioricet dose (still every 6 hours) to get me out of my status migrainosis within a week! Normally, I have to suffer for 2-4 with the sumatriptan!"

"I have taken more prescribed migraine drugs than I can remember over the years and come back to Fioricet. Butalbital, along with Tylenol or ASA and caffeine, is by far the most reliable."
