"I started taking Adderall when I was 26 y/o, and it was AMAZING for about 2 years. My dose started out at 30 mg/day in the beginning, and after 2 years was up to 60 mg/day (30 mg IR twice daily). I started getting increasingly paranoid, losing what seemed like more and more sleep with each passing month. I kept thinking that I was seeing red and blue lights on my walls at night, which made me think the cops were after me outside, even though I didn't do anything that would require police assistance. Until one day when I lost my mind, literally. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital and put on a 72-hour psychiatric hold, for which I ended up staying at the hospital almost 2 weeks. Diagnosed with amphetamine-induced schizoaffective disorder!!!"

"I was once a procrastinating, underemployed, muscular 18-year-old who was unsure of his future. My ADHD made it impossible to focus, my motivation was terrible, and I snapped on anyone over the smallest thing. I knew about Ritalin... also knew its excess side effects. I heard about Adderall and decided maybe I should speak with my PCP. He prescribed me Adderall, a pill that can either make or break you. If you have had ANY history of drug abuse, AVOID IT. It took me a month to realize I was abusing it. I lost sleep, weight, and gained a tolerance. When I decided I'd better let my wife handle my medication, she gave me my two IRs per day and still does. It helped a lot. The medication is wonderful for ADHD but can very easily kill you if you abuse it."

"While not perfect, this drug helped me achieve around an 80% improvement in my focus, attention, and ability to see tasks through to the end. I take 20 mg IR in the morning and 20 mg early in the afternoon. I was never diagnosed with A.D.D when I was a kid, likely because I barely went to see doctors as a child. I used illicit drugs my whole life until it caused me to almost kill myself. After being clean for a year, I noticed my problems persisted with attention, focus, and finishing tasks. After seeing a psychiatrist and getting a proper test/diagnosis, I'm grateful. It's helped a lot."

"What a genius medication! It changed my life completely. I strongly believe, based on my experiences using it for over a year, that Adderall is extremely helpful for those who really suffer from ADHD. I'm much more focused, happy, and I get a lot accomplished each day, my emotions are in place. It helps me keep my weight down. There are some side effects, my main concern is trouble sleeping, but that can be controlled with meditation and other methods. I wish I had gotten diagnosed earlier, my life would have been much different. But it's never too late. Grateful for this medicine."

"For me, Adderall has changed my life remarkably for the good; without Adderall, I wouldn't be able to work 40 hours a week like I do, as well as going to school full-time. Yes, it may be an amphetamine and produce similar euphoric highs to meth and MDMA; however, it is far different as far as when it is broken down chemically. For those who have little knowledge in chemistry, just one small change in the chemical structure to a drug that may seem so insignificant can actually change the drug dramatically when it comes to the side effects. Adderall is a very useful drug and provides many benefits with much less side effects than the other not-so-good drugs in its class."

"Before Adderall, I was on edge. I had put everything off and neglected myself and my relationship. Now I have that drive to want to do what I love, especially art. I'm a graphic artist and have that drive again. Anyone that is irritable with every little thing, feels lazy because you don't want to leave your house, and has no social life, please see a doctor to test you for ADHD. ADD will, I promise, change and possibly save your social life and self-esteem."

"I've been taking Adderall for roughly two years now. I could honestly say it has helped me so much. Having A.D.D. my whole life, it completely made my life out of control. I only realized how much of my issues were connected to having A.D.D. until I took my medication, I cannot even explain. It's insane sometimes, it even got me emotional thinking about it because I would say to everyone around me, 'Is this how people without A.D.D. feel?' and think, 'Wow, I missed out on so much.' Luckily, I can say everything has changed. I graduated high school, found myself a job, totally different group of friends, even the way I interact and feel about myself has totally changed. I would have given it a 10/10, but my loss of appetite and inability to sleep sucks, but pros outweigh the cons."

"When I was in my last year of college, I started seeing a psychologist for depression. After 6 months, she screened me for ADHD and started me on Adderall. It was okay for a while, but she upped my dosage to 40mg per day. That was too much for me, so I quit taking it. I noticed the difference when I wasn't on it. I felt way less focused, tired, and my moods were worse. When I got a job with insurance after a year, I started taking it again. It has helped me tremendously! I only take 10mg per day now."

"When I was diagnosed with ADHD in the 3rd grade, they put me on Adderall, and then I became a person I was not. I had social anxiety but got exceptionally good grades in school where others failed. Adderall changes your personality and was the worst 12 years of my life. I had no friends because engaging in conversation was nearly impossible. It traps your thoughts in a prison of your mind and suppresses any creativity."

"I have ADD/ADHD & possibly a tiny bit of Narcolepsy. I started taking Sandoz 10mg Adderall immediate release twice daily. All in all it was solid, I felt it did have a sedative effect which I don't know how that's possible?! The next month I decided to try a different Manufacturer called Lannett, this worked the same without the sedation. Again, very helpful. This medicine helps me to focus IN on what I have to do throughout the day, especially at work, I am able to multi task so much better! The following month I had a different Manufacturer TEVA. A terrible generic as the only thing this RX allowed me to do is STARE OUT! Compared to focusing In? I apologize for not being clinical here, but I'm sure others can relate! TEVA should not be allowed in the same drug class! LANNETT & SANDOZ ARE GREAT!"

"If it wasn’t for Adderall, I would be a basket case, no questions asked. I'm 55, been on it since 2014 on an everyday basis. I'll take a day off every so often, but it's a rare occasion. My blood pressure is 122/74, pulse 64 when moving around normally. Resting, my BP is lower along with the pulse rate. If you are relatively healthy, heart-wise, no problems. I know one guy who's pushing 76 years old, and he's still taking his prescribed dosage."

"I have been using Adderall for about 2 years now. I am an adult male at the age of 25. I always had an issue focusing in school, and I have had a 'rocking' issue my entire life. I tend to rock back and forth while reading or sitting. It was very difficult to complete homework because I would try to figure out the answers to my homework problems, but my rocking would take all of my focus, and no matter how hard I tried to stop the rocking, I would always end up doing it anyway. As I attended college, I was put on academic probation and decided to see a doctor. Since I have been diagnosed and prescribed Adderall, my life has changed 100% for the better. No more rocking, and my focus is incredible!"

"I had clinical depression/anxiety for years. Worsened terribly after having 1st baby at 33. I was extremely fatigued, couldn't start or finish easy tasks, totally overwhelmed, cried constantly - major postpartum depression. Was prescribed Adderall, Wellbutrin, and Zoloft. Been on all 3 for 1 year and am a completely new person. Adderall doesn't exacerbate my anxiety; in fact, I am less anxious because I can concentrate and don't feel exhausted, inadequate, and unhappy. Might not work for all, but this combination is perfect for me. Upped blood pressure a bit, but still in normal range and monitored. Use with care with dose at start. I cut pills and take a bit at a time, always in the morning and only when needed during the rest of the day and never more than prescribed. I feel this lessens the risk of dependency."

"Started off with Adderall 5 mg IR twice daily. Overall, this is a very low dose. I have found it was more effective and safer to take it every couple of days, at least for me. I have tried 40 mg and 60 mg before, so I am very aware of how intense it can be. If you take it every day, you will end up increasing the dosage. Try to use it sparingly and try doing activities that produce dopamine naturally, like exercise or walking and listening to music. This will help you feel healthier while taking it. Overall, I think it is helpful but definitely feels unnatural and can't believe they give speed to children."

"I have been diagnosed when I was in 1st grade, but parents were against medicating their child. Big mistake, now in my early 30s, I have been on 20 mg twice a day, and they put me in an almost sedated, comfortable mindset where my mind can focus on one thing and not twenty at a time. As soon as my doctor put me on this medication, I could work and attend college, it's let me utilize the intellect that I could never use, and I will be going into a graduate program for psychology next semester. Those people with ADHD without any medication just use it how you are directed, and it can change your life without changing who you are and how you act as a person."

"I've been diagnosed with ADHD for many years. My childhood was filled with lots of trouble. I've had more failing grades than I can count, more referrals than most kids, been kicked out of an amazing school, and lost a full-ride scholarship. I'm not blaming all these problems on being ADHD, but not having self-control over my actions is a big factor. My doctor finally prescribed me Adderall, and the difference is crazy. I have been able to stay focused on school and all my classes for the first time in six years. I am getting on the honor roll and have an interest in being in school. I'd recommend anyone to give Adderall a try. It truly has made my life a lot easier by being able to stay focused."

"I have had ADHD all my life, very smart and talented but almost never motivated. I was an A student and could easily go down to F because I lost interest quickly. Was emotional and failed at marriage and relationships. Adderall makes me accomplish so much in a day, I want to do everything. I'm not emotional, I focus, and I'm in a great mood. Be very careful with dosage, it can be very harmful and addictive. Eat regularly, even when not hungry. I still don't sleep well on it, I have to try not taking it in the late afternoon."

"I have ADD child - I'm the mom—I’ve been witness to the efficacy, (or not!) of differing generic Equivalents for Adderall. The FDA classes a generic drug equivalent if it has at 80% of the effective ingredient—For you and I, that means a 20% less effective drug for our child. Consumer accounts are eerily similar. Non-effective substitutions in generic formulae cause problems for those who rely on effective medication to function. (In a 9 year old, we are talking the difference between an 18 Lego creation vs scale model replication-within 15 min of Adderall dosage) We had good results with a generic for made by Core—‘til it was discontinued. We relied on Zydus brand—discontinued. Tevo is better than Barr, but not as effective as Core or Zydus. What to do? Sub-par medication puts a society, based upon self-regulated, responsible citizenry, at risk. Have just read that Mallinckrodt is making generic Adderal—ugh. Heaven help you if you are given version of mallinckrodt vycodin…"

"My life has totally changed for the better since starting this medication about a year ago. I am 36, so when I was growing up, ADHD didn't exist, but I was that kid that couldn't sit still or concentrate and talked 24/7! This medication has given me my quality of life back, it lifted the 'fog' that has always been in my brain, and I can't be more thrilled to have found this med! Thank you, Adderall, for giving me my life back!!!"

I'm so much more successful! Plus, I feel better about myself as a person. I don't know how I went all those years without it. It's definitely made my life better."

"I know that the same medication can affect people very differently. I have been on Adderall for years, (started as a kid, and I'm 24 now) and it is so so helpful for me. Don't get scared off by all the bad reviews, I feel for those people, and I'm sorry they had a bad experience, and I hope they have a good medicine that works best for them now, but not everyone has bad experiences. It helps me focus, and actually HELPS me socially, to interact better with people, feel more confident, listen better, but most importantly, impulse control, to slow down and think before I speak, I don't feel jittery on it at all. It helps me relax, and take better control of my thoughts, and think clearly. I have anxiety, and Adderall helps me feel a lot less anxious too!"

"I have always known that I had ADD. However, I was in grad school, and I was studying for up to 10-12 hours a day. I found myself reading and re-reading and was having a hard time retaining information because I couldn't stay focused. I would study for hours. Long story short, for my master's degree, I had to take practice timed tests for NP boards; I failed it. My instructor told me to get tested for ADHD and get on medications. I did, and it was the best thing I have ever done and wish I had done it sooner. It cut my studying by half because I'm very focused. I didn't have to request extra time for my NP boards, and I passed with time to spare. I have no side effects; increased HR, BP. I eat and exercise and don't take it late in the afternoon to avoid insomnia. I only take it when I study and not every day. I believe it's about making the drug work for you and not letting the drug control you. Medication 'holidays' are great to do."
