"I was once a procrastinating, underemployed, muscular 18-year-old who was unsure of his future. My ADHD made it impossible to focus, my motivation was terrible, and I snapped on anyone over the smallest thing. I knew about Ritalin... also knew its excess side effects. I heard about Adderall and decided maybe I should speak with my PCP. He prescribed me Adderall, a pill that can either make or break you. If you have had ANY history of drug abuse, AVOID IT. It took me a month to realize I was abusing it. I lost sleep, weight, and gained a tolerance. When I decided I'd better let my wife handle my medication, she gave me my two IRs per day and still does. It helped a lot. The medication is wonderful for ADHD but can very easily kill you if you abuse it."

"While not perfect, this drug helped me achieve around an 80% improvement in my focus, attention, and ability to see tasks through to the end. I take 20 mg IR in the morning and 20 mg early in the afternoon. I was never diagnosed with A.D.D when I was a kid, likely because I barely went to see doctors as a child. I used illicit drugs my whole life until it caused me to almost kill myself. After being clean for a year, I noticed my problems persisted with attention, focus, and finishing tasks. After seeing a psychiatrist and getting a proper test/diagnosis, I'm grateful. It's helped a lot."

"What a genius medication! It changed my life completely. I strongly believe, based on my experiences using it for over a year, that Adderall is extremely helpful for those who really suffer from ADHD. I'm much more focused, happy, and I get a lot accomplished each day, my emotions are in place. It helps me keep my weight down. There are some side effects, my main concern is trouble sleeping, but that can be controlled with meditation and other methods. I wish I had gotten diagnosed earlier, my life would have been much different. But it's never too late. Grateful for this medicine."

"I've been taking Adderall for roughly two years now. I could honestly say it has helped me so much. Having A.D.D. my whole life, it completely made my life out of control. I only realized how much of my issues were connected to having A.D.D. until I took my medication, I cannot even explain. It's insane sometimes, it even got me emotional thinking about it because I would say to everyone around me, 'Is this how people without A.D.D. feel?' and think, 'Wow, I missed out on so much.' Luckily, I can say everything has changed. I graduated high school, found myself a job, totally different group of friends, even the way I interact and feel about myself has totally changed. I would have given it a 10/10, but my loss of appetite and inability to sleep sucks, but pros outweigh the cons."

"When I was in my last year of college, I started seeing a psychologist for depression. After 6 months, she screened me for ADHD and started me on Adderall. It was okay for a while, but she upped my dosage to 40mg per day. That was too much for me, so I quit taking it. I noticed the difference when I wasn't on it. I felt way less focused, tired, and my moods were worse. When I got a job with insurance after a year, I started taking it again. It has helped me tremendously! I only take 10mg per day now."

"I had clinical depression/anxiety for years. Worsened terribly after having 1st baby at 33. I was extremely fatigued, couldn't start or finish easy tasks, totally overwhelmed, cried constantly - major postpartum depression. Was prescribed Adderall, Wellbutrin, and Zoloft. Been on all 3 for 1 year and am a completely new person. Adderall doesn't exacerbate my anxiety; in fact, I am less anxious because I can concentrate and don't feel exhausted, inadequate, and unhappy. Might not work for all, but this combination is perfect for me. Upped blood pressure a bit, but still in normal range and monitored. Use with care with dose at start. I cut pills and take a bit at a time, always in the morning and only when needed during the rest of the day and never more than prescribed. I feel this lessens the risk of dependency."

"I take Adderall XR 30 mg and it has always worked for me until this last batch. It's a Teva batch and it makes me feel horrible. Out of nowhere, I get high blood pressure and I can't focus. I get fatigued and it feels like I'm gonna pass out sometimes. Something is truly wrong here. It's scary because I need this medication to hold down a job because without it, I'm a hot mess. I pray this gets resolved soon. Thinking about switching to Desoxyn. Really good reviews and no shortage."

"I was recently diagnosed with ADHD and got my first prescription for Adderall, hoping it would help, but I felt nothing. Started at 20 mg, then tried 40 mg, and finally 60 mg today and only noticed a slight quieting for my racing thoughts (but it could've been some brain fog since they still were pretty bad), still felt restless, etc. Came on here to see others' experiences and saw that Lannett was a really bad generic manufacturer, and so I went to check my prescription and BOOM, Lannett. Knowing that this mfr has been garbage across the board with people has at least been comforting and gives me hope for the next medication attempt (which I will be making sure my psychiatrist puts the name of an authorized generic and that it must be from that mfr)."

"Adderall saved me. I went back to college and was finally able to start passing school. My depression started getting better, my mood has become more stabilized, and I can enjoy things without getting 'ADD freeze,' as I like to call it. I started getting better at my job too. I love this medication! Thank goodness for Adderall!"

"I have taken 20 mg of Adderall coupled with 50 mg of Zoloft for the past year. They work really well together. Adderall helps me focus, and Zoloft treats any mood swings or depressed feelings. It really is a good combination for ADHD, ADD, or OCD."

"I've been diagnosed with ADHD for many years. My childhood was filled with lots of trouble. I've had more failing grades than I can count, more referrals than most kids, been kicked out of an amazing school, and lost a full-ride scholarship. I'm not blaming all these problems on being ADHD, but not having self-control over my actions is a big factor. My doctor finally prescribed me Adderall, and the difference is crazy. I have been able to stay focused on school and all my classes for the first time in six years. I am getting on the honor roll and have an interest in being in school. I'd recommend anyone to give Adderall a try. It truly has made my life a lot easier by being able to stay focused."

"I have ADD/ADHD and possibly a tiny bit of narcolepsy. I started taking Sandoz 10 mg Adderall immediate release twice daily. All in all, it was solid, I felt it did have a sedative effect, which I don't know how that's possible?! The next month, I decided to try a different manufacturer called Lannett, this worked the same without the sedation. Again, very helpful. This medicine helps me to focus in on what I have to do throughout the day, especially at work, I am able to multitask so much better! The following month, I had a different manufacturer, TEVA. A terrible generic, as the only thing this RX allowed me to do is stare out! Compared to focusing in? I apologize for not being clinical here, but I'm sure others can relate! TEVA should not be allowed in the same drug class! Lannett and Sandoz are great!"

"If it wasn’t for Adderall, I would be a basket case, no questions asked. I'm 55, been on it since 2014 on an everyday basis. I'll take a day off every so often, but it's a rare occasion. My blood pressure is 122/74, pulse 64 when moving around normally. Resting, my BP is lower along with the pulse rate. If you are relatively healthy, heart-wise, no problems. I know one guy who's pushing 76 years old, and he's still taking his prescribed dosage."

"I have been diagnosed when I was in 1st grade, but parents were against medicating their child. Big mistake, now in my early 30s, I have been on 20 mg twice a day, and they put me in an almost sedated, comfortable mindset where my mind can focus on one thing and not twenty at a time. As soon as my doctor put me on this medication, I could work and attend college, it's let me utilize the intellect that I could never use, and I will be going into a graduate program for psychology next semester. Those people with ADHD without any medication just use it how you are directed, and it can change your life without changing who you are and how you act as a person."

"I have had ADHD all my life, very smart and talented but almost never motivated. I was an A student and could easily go down to F because I lost interest quickly. Was emotional and failed at marriage and relationships. Adderall makes me accomplish so much in a day, I want to do everything. I'm not emotional, I focus, and I'm in a great mood. Be very careful with dosage, it can be very harmful and addictive. Eat regularly, even when not hungry. I still don't sleep well on it, I have to try not taking it in the late afternoon."

"I have been using Adderall for about 2 years now. I am an adult male at the age of 25. I always had an issue focusing in school, and I have had a 'rocking' issue my entire life. I tend to rock back and forth while reading or sitting. It was very difficult to complete homework because I would try to figure out the answers to my homework problems, but my rocking would take all of my focus, and no matter how hard I tried to stop the rocking, I would always end up doing it anyway. As I attended college, I was put on academic probation and decided to see a doctor. Since I have been diagnosed and prescribed Adderall, my life has changed 100% for the better. No more rocking, and my focus is incredible!"

"My life has totally changed for the better since starting this medication about a year ago. I am 36, so when I was growing up, ADHD didn't exist, but I was that kid that couldn't sit still or concentrate and talked 24/7! This medication has given me my quality of life back, it lifted the 'fog' that has always been in my brain, and I can't be more thrilled to have found this med! Thank you, Adderall, for giving me my life back!!!"

"It does seem to have a calming effect at 20 mg of the IR, but it is a short window of effectiveness. I'm subscribed to it in an attempt to slow down my thoughts and help me do tasks more orderly before I typically bail out on them. I don't realize any stimulative effects or any surge in energy that makes me want to complete more tasks. Sometimes I do notice little things like actually slipping changed bills neatly in my wallet instead of crumpling them in my pocket. Leaving the house, I'm more in order, not forgetting items, and I do seem to have more naturally flowing conversations with people. People around me say I talk less and seem more relaxed. I'd love to say it helps with work and other recreational activities where I have to sit for extended periods of time, but it does not. But helping with my mind and actions while physically moving, I do seem to benefit from."

"I am 62 years old on Adderall XR for ADHD, on the medication for 4 years now. I find that Adderall does help when I first take it but seems to wear off as the day goes on. I get very sleepy while on the medication and have no problem with my appetite (no weight loss at all). I asked my doctor to raise my dosage (I am taking 20mg per day) but he does not want to do it because of my age and concerns that it may affect my blood pressure, even though my pressure is normal now. I have no side effects at all from this medicine, just it is not helping my concentration as much as it did in the beginning. I think after a while the effectiveness wears off and an adjustment in dosage is needed."

"I was prescribed this medicine when I was a young child for ADHD. I took it all the way through my high school years until I decided I didn't need it. I backed this theory by saying, 'It made me feel funny and zone out'. I stopped taking it, and since then I dropped out of school, picked up a drug problem, and have been in and out of jail. I know I can't blame this on not taking medicine, but I do know I didn't do any of that stuff when I was taking it. I was a pretty good kid. I recently got my G.E.D and am going to be attending college in the fall. I am actually trying to get back on this medicine so I can stay focused. I am excited to see what's in store in the future. But what I am really trying to say is this drug works wonders."

"I am a 45-year-old male and was never diagnosed with ADD or ADHD. However, I have nearly every symptom and have suffered the consequences of this problem my entire life. In short, Adderall changed my life. I have never liked taking any medication, but the increase in the quality of my life is worth any side effect I may incur down the road."

"I got diagnosed with ADHD at 26, however, I showed signs of the condition my entire life. I was put on Adderall, and yes, my entire life changed because I had an answer. The medication is a love-hate relationship. The side effects include no appetite, dry mouth, upset stomach (upon first taking the medicine), and cold hands and feet. However, the benefits are life-changing. I can focus on work/school, daily chores aren't impossible, and my impulse control has improved significantly. I take 15 mg IR in the morning and 10 mg IR in the afternoon (previously have been on combos of IR and XR as well). This medication is life-changing for those who truly struggle with ADHD."

"I just had to write and tell you that I feel like I should be a commercial for Adderall XR. I am like every other typical mom. I work part-time, go to school part-time, lead a Brownie Troop, take care of 2 children, a husband, and a dog. All while keeping up with the normal household events. Adderall XR has reformed my life, and I am amazed by the difference it has made for me. I am now able to keep a level head and prioritize. I don't know how I lived without it. Thank you, Adderall XR."

"Before Adderall, I was on edge. I had put everything off and neglected myself and my relationship. Now I have that drive to want to do what I love, especially art. I'm a graphic artist and have that drive again. Anyone that is irritable with every little thing, feels lazy because you don't want to leave your house, and has no social life, please see a doctor to test you for ADHD. ADD will, I promise, change and possibly save your social life and self-esteem."
