For Narcolepsy "I've been taking Lumryz for 3 weeks now and feel like I am starting to adjust to it. I was taking Xyrem before, so I started at 7.5 grams. I think it's nice not waking up in the middle of the night to take a second dose. The only side effect I've experienced so far is occasional bed-wetting. It has been difficult to limit drinking water like I used to because if I do, then I'm more likely to wet the bed that night. Hopefully it won't last long."

For Narcolepsy "I've been on Lumryz for the past 5 months or so. Plenty of time to build my opinion on the drug. I'll describe the pros and cons from my perspective, but do understand that each person will have a different experience. Pros: - Slightly reduces the likelihood that I have a sleep attack strong enough to knock me out. Cons: - On low doses, I get pretty bad brain fog in the morning if I try to do something mentally taxing, like conversing. On high doses (7.5g), the brain fog for the first few hours after waking up is so severe I can't bring myself to even go outside. For those concerned whether I'm sleeping enough, I am sleeping 6+ hours each night. - When I discontinued the medication for a few days, I found that I couldn't sleep without it anymore. Perhaps my body developed a bit of a dependence on it? Not sure, but it was scary. - Makes you feel really drunk and motion sick. - Tastes like grainy ocean water with a tinge of soap."

For Narcolepsy "Coming from Xywav, I was ready to not have to wake up in the middle of the night for my second dose (which I missed fairly regularly). I love Lumryz and its one dose! Waking up just feels so natural now, and I feel great all the time since I'm not missing doses. I haven't had any problems with the large salt amount, I take Magnesium every night before bed. My blood pressure was usually 110/70 - 120/80, at first it bumped up to 145/75, but I take 2 garlic pills every morning, and it's back down to 120 or 130/70. I can't recommend this enough! I myself am covered by Avadel's patient assistance program since my insurance didn't cover it, hopefully it'll be easier for others to get it covered."

For Narcolepsy "I've been on Lumryz for 2 months, and I am adjusting well. I have not experienced any real side effects. This is my first narcolepsy drug. I would say, on average, I'm sleeping about 7 hours per night without interruption. It took me about 3 weeks, but I am happy with the results so far. My days are much better."

For Cataplexy "Keeps me from having cataplexy, but causes severe, painful restless leg syndrome."

For Idiopathic Hypersomnia "I’ve been in a trial for Lumryz for the last 9 weeks, and it has changed my life! Before Xywav, I got 9-10 hours of sleep a night, and I was exhausted by 11 a.m. Whenever I could, I would nap for 3-4 hours during the day, which might keep me alert until 9 p.m. if I’m lucky. For the last 9 weeks, I have slept 6-8 hours per night, waking at 6 or 7 a.m. with energy that lasts all day! I am so grateful."
