For Sinusitis "I'm so glad I'm not the only one having a bad reaction to this medication. I've taken the lower strength before and tolerated it fine, so I figured I'd be alright. The first night I took my first dose, I had bad stomach cramps, nausea, and chills. The next day, when I took my second dose, I had the same symptoms all day long. After my third dose, I felt sicker than I've ever been in my life. Along with my sinusitis and bronchitis, I had uncontrollable diarrhea and violent dry heaves. I had a horrific panic attack in the midst of this because my hands and feet went numb, I felt dizzy, and I was shaking all over. Someone had to help me get out of the bathroom because I was completely incapacitated. Something similar happened tonight on day 5, which is thankfully the final day of my 2-a-day course. Never again."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate for Middle Ear Infections "So much pressure in my ears, so I was prescribed Augmentin. A couple days in, I notice my left arm kinda hurts but paid no attention. I start having very large and constant bowel movements that smell like the pills, lol. On the 9th day, I break out in a cold sweat, fever, terrible left arm pain, and muscle weakness. I go to urgent care thinking I'm having a heart attack. Discontinue drug. Symptoms still persist, and I think I have tendonitis in my left shoulder now. Very dizzy and weak despite stopping medication 4 days ago."

For Strep Throat "Wasn't entirely sure I had strep throat, no fever (but I never get fevers), but sore throat for 5 days, getting worse, couldn't swallow without extreme pain. Doctor did a strep test, was negative, but she said there were other strains of strep that the test didn't cover, was also concerned that the sore throat was worse. Within 12 hours of taking the first dose, my throat was much better, and soreness was completely gone after 24 hours. Side effects, however, were hard to live with. I have been dizzy and extremely tired. Decided to stop after the 4th day of taking it because it would be hard to go back to work on this med."

For Sinusitis "As I was dealing with anxiety issues, I underwent a Head CT and was informed of the presence of mucosal thickening in the sphenoid sinuses. As I was unfamiliar with this term, I inquired further and was informed that it indicated a sinus infection. I began a prescribed medication regimen, and for the initial two days, I experienced only mild abdominal discomfort. However, on the third day, after taking a probiotic, I started experiencing heart palpitations, chest issues, brain fog, and feelings of passing out, culminating in my first panic attack. Additionally, I experienced discomfort in my joints and skin, but no rashes, and my stomach felt like it was burning. Every time I took the medication, I experienced chest issues and dizziness, which lasted all day, and I would wake up feeling sluggish and disoriented between doses."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate for Middle Ear Infections "I was prescribed Augmentin for healing my ear infection. I threw up shortly after taking the first dose. I felt dizzy and very unwell. I will never take this medicine again. I feel worse than I did before taking it. Amoxicillin by itself should do the trick without all the side effects of Augmentin."

For Middle Ear Infections "After 3 days of taking a tablet by mouth every 12 hours for 10 days. The infection and the pain in my ear got better, but the side effects like diarrhea and tiredness, dizziness, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, disorientation, and irritability made the 10 days a challenge."

For Skin and Structure Infection "I was prescribed this medication to prevent an infection after a root canal. My dose was 825 mg, I believe, twice a day. Took the first dose but crushed it into apple juice because the pills are huge and I have anxiety about swallowing pills. An hour later, I was holding back from vomiting. I blamed it on crushing it up and also doing so on an empty stomach, so I took my second dose that night, and an hour later, I started to feel dizzy. So I started looking up reviews and saw a lot of people saying it caused them panic attacks and anxiety, which I already deal with on a daily basis, so the next day I called my dentist, and they switched me to regular amoxicillin, which I've never had any issues with. I thought this was the same as amoxicillin, or else I would have never taken it. I am the kind of person who reads up about everything. When I get medicines, I'm looking up all the side effects and stuff. Definitely would never take this stuff again. I've never had any side effects from anything else."

For Bacterial Infection "I am a 26-year-old male, athletic build, 6 ft tall, 75 kg. I was prescribed this medication by a bulk-billed MD who diagnosed me with a sinus infection. My nose and chest were a little congested, and I had severe ear pressure. It helped thin out my mucus. I'd taken 9/10 tablets by the time I saw a better GP who took far more time with me, and she suggested I go off the antibiotics as they'd made me feel worse, not better. However, she also said it wouldn't hurt to have the final tablet if I really felt like it. Side effects throughout my week included the following: slight nausea, diarrhea (twice), fatigue, dizziness, tiredness, weakness, weight loss, loss of appetite, and dry mouth. I'm never using this medication ever again!"

Amoxicillin / clavulanate for Middle Ear Infections "I am a 42-year-old man. After 2 days on Augmentin, my ears felt better, but I couldn’t sleep. After 4 days, I felt foggy-headed, lethargic, dizzy, and overall unwell, and the ear pain returned. On the 10th day, I felt extremely fatigued, sad, broke out on my face, and ringing in my ears is terrible. The Z-Pak did not work either."

For Sinusitis "Day one of this medication, I started getting stomach pain. However, by day two, it was gone. Thought I'd gotten lucky. How wrong I was. I managed four days of a seven-day course on this drug. The headache? Man, let me tell you, it was like no other headache I've ever had in my 38 years of life. It felt like a band wrapped around my head, getting tighter and tighter to a point it was making me dizzy and nauseated. I feel more unwell now than I did before starting these antibiotics. I will never ever take them again. If you're prescribed these, all I can say is good luck. You're gonna need it."

For Sinusitis "Had a sinus infection lasting two weeks with severe facial pain that no amount of OTC meds helped. Was prescribed amoxicillin/clavulanate 875 2x a day with meals. Felt major relief by day two. However, by the third night of sleep, something felt really off. Woke up several times throughout the night with panic attacks, chest pain, numb/tingling limbs, confusion, heart palpitations. I felt like I was truly losing my mind. I continued use and thankfully did not experience another night that bad, but I still had extreme lethargy, blurred vision, dizziness, gas, discolored discharge, and loose stools. I stopped on day five, as my sinus infection was completely better. The side effects were no longer worth it."

For Sinusitis "All it took was one. After one hour of taking the first pill, I felt lightheaded and dizzy. After two hours, I felt sleepy. I knew that was the last one that I would take. My doctor wanted me to take this medication for twenty-one days for chronic sinusitis. No way. In the garbage they went. That night I also had an experience in the bathroom too."

For Bacterial Infection "Day 7 of a 10-day dose 3 times per day for a tooth infection. I have itchy feet and sides of palms of hands. Day 9, severe dizziness started, rapid heartbeat, but the ER doctor thinks it's not from the medicine. Day 10, itchy legs and arms now as well and severe nausea. I am so glad the medicine is done, I should have called the regular doctor back, but by the time they would get back to me, the doses would pretty much be done. Will never take the medicine again!! Day after, still nausea, next day better and no more itchy hands or feet, but then the next day, nausea again for like 5 hours, and itchy feet and hands again later in the evening. Fine after now, but really weird symptoms. Never again!"

For Urinary Tract Infection "I was prescribed this medication (875 milligrams). This medicine at first didn’t really affect me, but after 3 days, they are kicking in. I feel dizzy, almost like high, loss of appetite, fatigue. I wake up nauseous, makes me feel extremely off with my mood (agitated, depressed), and I was only taking the pill once a day instead of twice. I’ve taken about 5 of the pills so far every day and going to stop. If my symptoms come back, will have to get a different medication… not worth it."
