Uses of UroAv-B:
- It is used to ease pain from a bladder infection.
- It is used to treat muscle spasms of the urinary system.
- It is used to treat urinary signs.
What do I need to tell my doctor BEFORE I take UroAv-B?
For all patients taking UroAv-B (methenamine, sodium phos mono, phenyl salicylate, methyl blue, hyoscyamine):
- If you have an allergy to methenamine, sodium biphosphate, phenyl salicylate, methylene blue, hyoscyamine, or any other part of UroAv-B (methenamine, sodium phos mono, phenyl salicylate, methyl blue, hyoscyamine).
- If you are allergic to UroAv-B (methenamine, sodium phos mono, phenyl salicylate, methyl blue, hyoscyamine); any part of UroAv-B (methenamine, sodium phos mono, phenyl salicylate, methyl blue, hyoscyamine); or any other drugs, foods, or substances. Tell your doctor about the allergy and what signs you had.
- If you have any of these health problems: Bowel block, glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, slow moving GI (gastrointestinal) tract, or trouble passing urine.
- If you have ever had heart failure (weak heart) or other heart problems.
- If you are taking or have recently taken any drugs for mental or mood problems like depression. There are many drugs that must not be taken with UroAv-B (methenamine, sodium phos mono, phenyl salicylate, methyl blue, hyoscyamine). Talk with your doctor if you are not sure.
Children:
- If your child is younger than 6 years of age. Do not give UroAv-B (methenamine, sodium phos mono, phenyl salicylate, methyl blue, hyoscyamine) to a child younger than 6 years of age.

What are some things I need to know or do while I take UroAv-B?
- Tell all of your health care providers that you take UroAv-B (methenamine, sodium phos mono, phenyl salicylate, methyl blue, hyoscyamine). This includes your doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and dentists.
- Do not take more than what your doctor told you to take. Taking more than you are told may raise your chance of very bad side effects.
- Do not take UroAv-B (methenamine, sodium phos mono, phenyl salicylate, methyl blue, hyoscyamine) for longer than you were told by your doctor.
- This medicine may prevent other drugs taken by mouth from getting into the body. If you take other drugs by mouth, you may need to take them at some other time than UroAv-B (methenamine, sodium phos mono, phenyl salicylate, methyl blue, hyoscyamine). Talk with your doctor.
- Use with care in children. Talk with the doctor.
- If UroAv-B (methenamine, sodium phos mono, phenyl salicylate, methyl blue, hyoscyamine) is taken by accident, get medical help right away.
- If you are 65 or older, use UroAv-B (methenamine, sodium phos mono, phenyl salicylate, methyl blue, hyoscyamine) with care. You could have more side effects.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan on getting pregnant, or are breast-feeding. You will need to talk about the benefits and risks to you and the baby.
How is this medicine (UroAv-B) best taken?
Use UroAv-B (methenamine, sodium phos mono, phenyl salicylate, methyl blue, hyoscyamine) as ordered by your doctor. Read all information given to you. Follow all instructions closely.
- Take with or without food.
- Take with a full glass of water.
- Drink lots of noncaffeine liquids unless told to drink less liquid by your doctor.
- Do not take antacids or drugs for diarrhea within 1 hour of UroAv-B (methenamine, sodium phos mono, phenyl salicylate, methyl blue, hyoscyamine).
- If you also take ketoconazole, take it at least 2 hours before you take UroAv-B (methenamine, sodium phos mono, phenyl salicylate, methyl blue, hyoscyamine).
What do I do if I miss a dose?
- Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it.
- If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time.
- Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.
What are some side effects that I need to call my doctor about right away?
WARNING/CAUTION: Even though it may be rare, some people may have very bad and sometimes deadly side effects when taking a drug. Tell your doctor or get medical help right away if you have any of the following signs or symptoms that may be related to a very bad side effect:
- Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
- A fast heartbeat.
- Blurred eyesight.
- Dizziness.
- Shortness of breath.
- Trouble passing urine.

What are some other side effects of UroAv-B?
All drugs may cause side effects. However, many people have no side effects or only have minor side effects. Call your doctor or get medical help if any of these side effects or any other side effects bother you or do not go away:
- Upset stomach or throwing up.
- Feeling sleepy.
- Dry mouth.
- Flushing.
- Change in color of urine or stool to blue or green.

How do I store and/or throw out UroAv-B?
- Store at room temperature.
- Protect from light.
- Store in a dry place. Do not store in a bathroom.
- Keep lid tightly closed.
- Keep all drugs in a safe place. Keep all drugs out of the reach of children and pets.
- Throw away unused or expired drugs. Do not flush down a toilet or pour down a drain unless you are told to do so. Check with your pharmacist if you have questions about the best way to throw out drugs. There may be drug take-back programs in your area.
