The best time to take it is at bedtime. I think this is the most overpriced overated product on the market. I know a lot of people who have used it. It has an extremely slow onset of action. As others have stated up to 5 days to work. I( drank 8 16oz bottles of water per day and it still took 4 days to work. Give it a try it may work well for you everyones system is different. Best of luck to you.Packard2046

Your question was a long time ago but Mayo Clinic’s GI department and their Pelvic Floor department recommends taking Miralax within 30 minutes after your largest meal of the day. I was told that it was fine to take two doses as well. It supposedly needs to go down on top of your food to work well. I was taking it at bedtime and it wasn’t working so well plus I take it with a couple of glasses of water and it’s not a pleasant feeling to have at bedtime.

Dman 1956 I take Miralax daily, except when traveling & then I take laxatives. I wake up daily with horribly painfully severe stomach cramps& my Miralax I mix up the day before. The cramps I don't know what to about them So,I say a.m if you feel the need to go& need help. My recommendation is in the am I wouldn't use it if I didn't need too. I love Miralax, rxpensive though Well worth the cost at any warehouse that carries it. Good Luck Mojob55 BTW my Mom in law does hers in coffee. I mix mine up with 12 oz. Ensure

I take Miralax within an hour of going to bed. Depends I may take 1 cap full or a half of a cap full. Some times I will just take a full cap full every other night before going to bed. When I have my coffee next morning the Miralax reacts quickly for me not liquid just a nice smooth stool. If I eat too much fiber then I regulate the Miralax as I mentioned previously. Been on it for 1 1/2 years. Keeps me regular for my body. Have had chronic constipation for most of my life. This works for me. Yes, I do drink at least 3 bottles 8 oz of water daily. This is an osmotic, so it absorbs water from the colon.
