Natrecor Disease Interactions
There are 2 disease interactions with Natrecor (nesiritide).
Nesiritide (applies to Natrecor) hypotension
Major Potential Hazard, Moderate plausibility. Applicable conditions: Heart Disease
Nesiritide may cause hypotension and should be administered in settings where blood pressure can be monitored closely and hypotension can be aggressively treated. The use of nesiritide is not recommended in patients for whom vasodilation agents are not appropriate, such as patients with significant valvular stenosis, restrictive or obstructive cardiomyopathy, constrictive pericarditis, pericardial tamponade, or other conditions in which cardiac output is dependent upon venous return. The use of nesiritide is contraindicated in patients with persistent systolic blood pressure below 100 mm Hg prior to therapy because of an increased risk of symptomatic hypotension, and in patients in cardiogenic shock.
Nesiritide (applies to Natrecor) renal impairment
Moderate Potential Hazard, Moderate plausibility. Applicable conditions: Renal Dysfunction
Nesiritide may decrease renal function as judged by increases in serum creatinine which should be monitored both during and after treatment has been completed, and until values have been stabilized. Use care when administering this agent to patients with renal impairment.
