For Prostate Cancer: I have taken Casodex for years and PSA stays around 3.7. No operation. Side effect is enlarged breasts. Now 79 years old and swimming a mile a day. Feel strong and doing well. |

For Prostate Cancer: My 69years old dad is taking Xtandi for 3 months now. First month was perfect, PSA went down from 275 to 180, he was feeling amazing and healthy. At the end of second month he started to get pain in lower back, very burny skin, he could not even sit. After 2 weeks he suddenly could not walk anymore on one leg. So he stopped Xtandi for 14 days. In this time he was able to walk again. Very weak but slowly walking. But his PSA is now back on 276. He has started Xtandi again. He has stage 4 Prostate cancer. Wish him luck...I believe this drug may work very well but can have terrible side effects! For Prostate Cancer: My husband is 83 years old. He played golf 3 days a week before taking XTandi. Last time he tried to play , he fell. I told the Dr. he needed off of the medication. I had to find another Urologist to tell me it was OK to stop it. My husband is now almost bedfast. Walks with a walker, has Home Health Care. Mentally Disabled. Yes, he is 83, but he was playing golf 3 days a week before taking X Tandi. Please pray. I am afraid the damage can not be reversed. |

For Prostate Cancer: My PSA had reached 39.7 and I underwent surgical castration on March 19 2009 in Delhi India where I was on holiday. I returned to the UK on 23 March. My consultant prescribed Casodex 50mg once per day for my remaining lifetime. I am 79 years old and tolerated the surgery well. On 13 May my PSA level had dropped to 0.6 and on the 13 July my PSA result was so low that it was non-recordable. I have suffered a recent bout of pneumonia, and I have frequent hot flashes, but otherwise I feel much better than I did before surgery and the Casodex seems to be doing it's job. I take no other medicine than the Casodex.
