For Osteoporosis "Hard to tell if this drug worked yet or not but it definitely made me sick. Got the infusion Friday and on Saturday I had a 102 Fever and could barely get out of bed. I had chills, I'm sweating all over the place, and my husband literally had to help me to the bathroom. I was dizzy and every bone in my body ached. By Sunday afternoon, I was a little bit better but four days later I'm still feeling achy and have diarrhea. I won't be doing another infusion."

For Osteoporosis "74 years old, has back pain, tests identified 2 compression spine fxs. Conservative treatment failed to give relief, had 2 ESIs (epidural steroid injections), then 2-level kyphoplasty (Vertebral Augmentation for Compression Fractures), next Reclast infusion, felt okay for about 5 hours but later back pain intensified, went to bed, started shaking like chills all over, finally fell asleep. The next morning was so weak, unable to get out of bed, husband rolled me on a rolling walker into the bathroom, assisted me on and off the commode, stayed the same the next day. On Monday felt a little stronger but severe neck and right thumb pain, mostly laying and sleeping in a recliner. Checked with the doctor and received no specific recommendations. The next day was able to go out to lunch but extremely weak, had another ESI 6 days after Reclast, got relief for that day and the next, but pain returned with a vengeance the following day and back in the recliner now 9 days post infusion. Never again."

For Osteoporosis "I had Reclast infusion 4 weeks ago. Felt fine for the first week and then got lower back, hip, groin, and thigh pain. Pain is getting worse by the day. I was told by 3 doctors that I needed Reclast because I have 50% bone loss due to chemo and radiation. When I questioned side effects, all doctors told me it's rare. I took a chance and I am miserable."

For Osteoporosis "Received dose at 11am, by 10pm that night I had fever, chills, severe pain in back. I was extremely ill for 3 days, such a severe headache I couldn't open my eyes. A week later my hands suddenly swelled to the point I could not use them. Now nearly 3 months later I am in physical therapy to try to regain the strength in my legs. Other side effects were less severe, such as jaw pain for a few weeks. I would never ever take this medicine again."

For Osteoporosis "I had my first fusion/drip on the 31st of May 2022, as I couldn't tolerate Fosavance. By 1st of June 2022, a few hours after Aclasta was administered, I felt like all the bones in my whole body were attacked. I was crippled by this pain. As the pain was so debilitating, I landed up in the hospital for about 3 weeks during June for pain control. I was on a daily drip. I'm still not right. I am due to see a pain specialist. I feel there are too many pain signals going to the brain. My pain meds aren't helping. I take a sleeping tablet, but I'm awake most of the night. So I am sleep deprived and in constant pain, it's a nightmare. This pharmaceutical should be accountable for the pain and suffering endured."

For Prevention of Osteoporosis "I received a Reclast infusion on December 26, 2019, for osteopenia. The next night, I awoke with a terrible headache and was unable to ignore it. I took a pain reliever and slept for 4 hours only to awaken again in severe head pain. The next day, I still felt truly horrible. I went to the ER because it was a Saturday, where I had an X-ray of my neck, and the ER doctor gave me 4 trigger point injections of lidocaine in the base of my skull. Still fighting pain! Additional trigger point injections. When does it end? A month so far of pain. Don’t do it!!"

For Osteolytic Bone Metastases of Solid Tumors "Had my first dose on Monday, 12th June 2017. I was fine Monday night, so I felt quite positive. Woke up Tuesday feeling like death! Wednesday, I felt better but had a painful, red, swollen left eyeball. Long story short, I'm in agony with my eye, and no one knows what to do! The hospital tried to say it wasn't a side effect! It's a very rare side effect, but it is one! And the fact they know nothing about it or how to deal with it is disgusting and frightening! I will not be having this treatment again and will be taking this further! They should not be giving people something if they don't know everything about it!"

For Osteoporosis "I had the Reclast infusion on April 4th, and 12 hours later I had severe chills (shaking so bad I couldn't close my mouth to take my temp) and fever. Lasted for 6 hours. Then I was sick to my stomach for the next day with severe pain in my legs (hard to get up from a chair) and my hands (hurt to write). Then I started with a 'cold' sinus/bronchial infection, which sent me to urgent care for an inhaler and cough medicine. Back to the doctor after 5 days for antibiotics, and I'm still sick one month later. Now jaw pain on the left side, and my teeth hurt. I will NEVER take Reclast EVER again. I hope you won't either!!!"

For Prevention of Osteoporosis "Just had my first Reclast infusion on July 23, 2020. Just getting out of bed for the first time in 3 days. I have side effects of the worst pain ever in my bones and my head, hands, back! I felt like every bone in my body was punched, kicked, and crushed. I could feel each bone ache individually (if that makes sense). Headache was so bad I got sick. However, day 3 is the magic number, and I am feeling much better ;). It has been very bad, but I have made it through with lots of rest, laying in bed watching movies. I think for me it was worse than chemo, yuck feeling. *** Don’t know how effective until next year."

For Osteoporosis "55-year-old with osteoporosis (genetic predisposition as well as early menopause). Had my first infusion yesterday. Did prep with lots of water and Tylenol (hence up peeing throughout the night). Today I am sore, stiff, have a headache, and fatigued. But all manageable with Tylenol and Advil (taken 2 hours apart). Deep breaths hurt and took an almost 3-hour nap today (at least during the pandemic I don’t have to work)."

For Osteoporosis "Feb 7th update. I did my original post on Jan 30 under the same name, about having the Reclast infusion on Jan. 27, 2020. Just so you know how long the side effects for Reclast last, I am still having pain in my legs, blurred vision, some nausea, and headache, but able to get up and down the stairs now, eating a little bit better. Starting to feel a little better."

For Osteoporosis "I have been in pain for over 6 months after Reclast. Picking up a tiny cup of water sends pain to my back. I am okay if resting. Pain in all joints and bones. I am 82. Never a bit of pain prior to this infusion. I have never fallen as an adult. I was never told by my doctor to drink water a day prior. I would like to join a lawsuit if there is one."

For Osteoporosis "Had my infusion on Monday, Jan. 27, 2020. Was just tired and weak at first, then in the middle of the night, I had the most excruciating pain in my bones all night until morning. Doctor then gave me tramadol, which helped the pain, but the next day I vomited all day long. It’s been 4 days, and I’m nauseous, my head still hurts, have no strength to get out of bed or eat much."

For Prevention of Osteoporosis "The 1st infusion of Reclast has left me feeling fatigued, with terrible pain and swelling in my hands, especially thumb joints, that is not improving after nearly two weeks, along with overall body aches and pains, headaches, and difficulty sleeping. I would never consider taking this drug again!"

For Osteoporosis "Had my first Reclast IV on Thursday morning. After a couple of hours, started hurting all over and feeling terrible. By evening, started running a fever of 100 - 101, had chills, nausea, pain all over, and couldn't get out of bed until Saturday evening. Took Tylenol every 4 hours. On Sunday, still did not feel a lot better, but fever was getting better. Hope this gets better really soon."

For Osteoporosis "I had my first infusion for osteoporosis on Monday morning. I followed all directions with hydration and paracetamol and was fine during the day. Everything changed at 2 a.m. I woke up with a fever and in excruciating pain with intense stomach cramps and began vomiting. I then experienced a tightening of my rib cage as if something was crushing it. This made it hard to breathe. I continued to experience vomiting for the next 2 days despite taking anti-nausea meds. I could not even keep fluids down and could not sleep. I also continued to have back and side pain. On day 3, I started to feel like I’d had a shot of adrenaline and was highly agitated, paranoid, and started experiencing heart palpitations. On day 4, I experienced sore, severe jaw pain, especially near my bottom lower molars, and my lymph nodes were swollen. On day 5, I was extremely breathless and had chest pain and was sent to a cardiologist. My heart is okay, luckily... It’s now day 7, and the symptoms continue. Never again!"

For Osteoporosis "I tried oral biphosphonate and experienced severe bone pain, nausea, and reflux. My doctor suggested Reclast. I had the infusion and within 6 hours experienced nausea and tiredness. I had taken the recommended Tylenol before and after. I went to bed and began to experience waves of severe rib pain from my back to front and vomiting. It was many times worse than childbirth. Luckily, I had an opiate pain reliever. That helped a lot. The feeling bad lasted for about 5 days, but the reflux stayed. Never again will I take this drug!!"

For Osteoporosis "Had the infusion - 15 minutes - 4 days ago. On the day, felt fine. The next day, thought I was dying, chills, fever, nausea, whole body/bones/joints extremely painful. Woke up every hour and had to drink water. Day 3, felt a lot better and managed to go to work. Day 4, I feel fine. Not sure how effective it will be, will have to have a bone scan in a year's time!"

For Osteoporosis "My first IV treatment was given on a Friday morning. By that night, I was running a fever of 103. I had 4 heavy blankets piled on me. I took Tylenol and Ibuprofen, but nothing brought my fever down below 101. I was shaking to my bones. Then, I started feeling pain in every bone of my body. The pain was worst in my back and shoulders. Even on my fourth day, my shoulders and back are still very painful. All I was told about Reclast was to drink a lot of water and take Tylenol as needed. I even told my husband that he might have to bring me to the emergency room because I was deathly ill. I wish I would have read these comments before I was given this therapy. I felt like every bone in my body was being attacked by this drug. Thankfully, I'm done for a year."

For Osteoporosis "When I started using Aclasta in 2019, something changed in my body. I started feeling too much pain in my thigh, but I thought it was maybe because of the back pain I have. After that, I started feeling pain in my legs, knee, and under my feet. In 2020, it became worse and worse, my GP suggested physiotherapy for three months, but nothing helped. I stopped my job because of the pain I had. When I checked the side effects of Aclasta, I found out that exactly what they said about the side effects is what I have. I have an appointment for another one on 29 October 2021, but honestly, I will never take another one anymore! I should have checked a long time ago when I started getting too much pain. My legs and feet swelled badly. Finally, after waiting for three months, I met a doctor of pain management and he said that I will get injections for back pain. He told me that Aclasta can cause the pain I have."

For Osteoporosis "The Zometa was almost the end of me. I was 70 years old when doctors in Sardinia gave me the Zometa for only a broken rib. They gave it to me for 1 year. Meanwhile, my bones were becoming weaker and weaker every day. My jaw became painful and was almost impossible to talk, eat, and chew. My bones started to have fractures without any particular accident. Doctors gave me Zometa for 6 years. After 1 year, the Zometa caused me bone cancer. If Zometa is good for bones, then why after 1 year of infusions I've had bone cancer?"

For Prevention of Osteoporosis "I had a Reclast IV done on March 8, 2023, at 1:30 pm and was told to take two Tylenol and drink lots of water that will reduce the flu-like symptoms. I was fine all day when about 10:30 pm comes around, and I got really light-headed, so I went to my room and laid down. My right shoulder started hurting, thought nothing of it. When 12 am came around, I was in excruciating pain, and when I say pain, it's an understatement. It felt like every bone in my body was broken. From top to bottom: arms, ribs, legs, hips, knees, head, everything. Flu-like symptoms are an understatement. I will not recommend for anyone to take this, I know I will not."
