"Given venlafaxine for depression due to low back pain and two spinal fusions over thirty years. For depression and pain, it was brilliant, went from 130 mg morphine equivalent a day to no pain meds at all! The bad news was I had to stop it after 3 weeks due to an allergic reaction, which recovered after I stopped taking it. However, the pain returned and I had to go back on the fentanyl. Now trying duloxetine, which appears to be not so good for either pain or depression."

"HORRID. Weight gain 130 lb to 165 lb, I'm 5'3. Night sweats. Ice-cold hands and feet. Severe dizziness, blurred vision. Constipation. Diarrhea, nausea, headaches, rapid pounding heartbeats, edema, achy legs that wake me up, they hurt so bad. Can't concentrate or focus at work. Blackout while driving. Felt like I was going to faint at work."

"I have been diagnosed with somatic symptom disorder (unexplained pains with no medical findings). I am convinced they have missed something on my 10 tests and scans. This has been going on for 2 1/2 years and I have got to the point I cannot take much more, it has destroyed me. I have tried 9 different antidepressants, none of which have worked this time. Normally, 20 mg of citalopram, and I am back on track. I have now got to try venlafaxine 37.5 mg from today. I would welcome any comments or any similar disorder. Thank you. This is my last hope to rid me of these 'pains' that are supposedly 'in my head.'"
