Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I took Rinvoq for two months from the samples my doctor gave me. I felt great! My insurance only covers a small amount, leaving a $1500 copay. I applied for help from Rinvoq but never got a response. I just can’t afford it."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I am on Rinvoq for 9 weeks, and for me, it is a miracle drug for my RA. Nine months ago, I wasn't able to do any of my daily routines. I was on methotrexate for 3 months with not much improvement, and later my doctor added Avara to my treatment. After another 3 months, there was again not much improvement. Nine weeks in, Rinvoq, and I am back to work with very little pain."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "Tried methotrexate and sulfasalazine for nearly a year, no relief, nothing but debilitating side effects and disease progression. I’ve been on Rinvoq for two months now. I was on prednisone for six months and was told to taper off six weeks after beginning the meds. I felt so good after two weeks I began the taper. Off prednisone completely now, and let me tell you, Rinvoq is a game changer. My pain, which was constant and unbearable, has been reduced by 80%. I had bruising and some diarrhea for 6 weeks and now zero side effects. This drug has restored my hope."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Atopic Dermatitis "I have suffered from eczema for about 35 years. It has affected every aspect of my life and affected my self-esteem. Sleepless nights from scratching, and I am sure the damage caused by prematurely aged skin. I have taken RINVOQ 15 mg for 2 weeks now, and I feel that I have my life back. No redness, pain, itch, or scratching since the day I started, and people have noticed that my skin is visibly improved. I have found my miracle. I get slight nausea here and there, but that does not compare to the hardship I had before. I sure hope that my kidneys hold out and I don't get any other side effects, and I can continue to tolerate Rinvoq as I would hate to go back to how I used to be."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have also taken many RA meds, including methotrexate, Humira, etc. I am on Rinvoq for the second time in about 4 months. My first few weeks on it, I quickly achieved almost no pain and absolutely no stiffness for the first time since RA developed. Then I developed cellulitis out of nowhere! I got scared and stopped myself. Went back to rheumy, he thought I should continue with it, that maybe it was not related. I have now been back on for about 3 weeks or more, and yes, virtually RA free, except I had my first diverticulitis attack last Monday (confirmed with CT scan). I thought I would keel over. My lower abdomen has not been the same since, and I am still taking this Rinvoq. I’m torn, I don’t know what to do next. Almost forgot, I also have this hypersensitive reaction to mosquito bites that cause huge welts since starting this medication."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Ankylosing Spondylitis "I’m a 21-year-old male. Using Rinvoq since 13 months, no side effects, no complaints. All the pain and stiffness from ankylosing spondylitis disappeared… First diagnosed with AS in September 2020, came a long way with sulfasalazine 2000 mg, prednisolone 25 mg, methotrexate, but nothing worked for me. My wrist, knee, hip all swollen, neck can’t move, pain and stiffness very high. Then, the next option, which was prescribed, Simponi (Golimumab). After 5 injections, nothing improved. I almost can’t walk or stand due to high pain and stiffness. Finally, Rinvoq, it’s the turning point of my life. Within 1 week, I got my life back. No pain, no stiffness, all the swollen joints back to normal. I’m taking only Rinvoq now, no other drugs. Rinvoq is an amazing drug, it’s working for me without any side effects."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "In the beginning, I watched a Rinvoq commercial on all the RA relief I could have if I switched to Rinvoq. So I discussed this option with my arthritis doctor to switch me to Rinvoq. I was exhausted all the time, gained weight, depressed, going to the ER due to experiencing painful flare-ups, but they couldn't diagnose my problem even when I told them I was having an RA flare-up, crying for a cortisone shot. My hands, shoulders, and knees were crippling, so I couldn't pick up a glass, flush a toilet, etc., so I was popping prednisone like candy. When I first started Rinvoq, I was feeling good UNTIL these last 3 months I have been having VERY painful flare-ups again with a sore throat, flu-like symptoms, dry mouth, tiredness, and more weight gain; back to the old painful symptoms again. Just typing this comment, my hands are in pain and stiff. Made another appointment with my RA doctor to discuss my option of switching to another medication."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I was diagnosed with RA two years ago and have tried almost everything. Finally found Rinvoq, and it works! Like others, I had acne and a few other side effects at first, but it went away. Very happy with this drug, as I can now play tennis again!"

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have been on almost all medicines out there. So far, I've been on Rinvoq a month. I'm always skeptical about drugs working since I've been trying them for 39 years. Rinvoq says it can start to work 2 weeks to 6 months. I have noticed little things like an easier time standing up and not as stiff when I wake up. The last 3 days, I've been having more pain and stiffness. As far as side effects, I've had a cough, hoarseness, and muscle cramping. Recently, extreme bruising, I woke up with bruises all over my hands, palms, back, fingers, all over my legs and forearms. None of these side effects will cause me to quit the medicine. All pretty mild compared to the effects of other meds."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis as per the doctors. The first doctor gave me hydroxychloroquine. The second doctor gave me leflunomide. None of these were very effective. My wrist and fingers get stuck in the night, especially when it's cold. The third doctor suggested a specialty medicine called Enbrel. Enbrel was effective for the first two or three months. Then it had no effect. Symptoms got worse. So the doctor suggested taking Rinvoq. Rinvoq is also useless. Enbrel was very good, at least for 3 months. Rinvoq had no effect from the beginning. This specialty medicine is of no use, or my symptoms are not rheumatoid."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "For me, Rinvoq has been a miracle. I started on it almost 6 months ago, and after only a few days, all of my symptoms disappeared. Not only was the pain and stiffness gone, but the dry eyes, fatigue, and swelling were gone, and my COPD cough completely disappeared, and my breathing improved by 10-20%. My doctor thinks the breathing improved from the inflammation going away. I'm 72 and honestly felt like I was 25 again! I have had RA for 7 years and tried Methotrexate, Plaquenil, and Leflunomide along with occasional courses of Prednisone and a few ER trips that called for Morphine. Before starting the Rinvoq, I took Sulfasalazine, which helped for a couple of years but just helped, had good and bad days with it. Nothing really worked other than the Prednisone, and eventually, it didn't help much. After the Sept. 1 FDA report, my doctor encouraged me to stop taking the Rinvoq because of the deadly side effects, but I'm debating what to do. It comes down to quality of life vs. fear of side effects."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I was diagnosed with RA, Sjogren's in 2011. In 1989, I was diagnosed with hypothyroiditis and Hashimoto's disease. I've been given Mobic, Methotrexate, Plaquenil, and now Rinvoq. I'm still on Methotrexate, same dose, and Rinvoq, I still have prednisone as well, one daily 5 mg. I began my Rinvoq the 1st week in July. It is currently 5 weeks. The first week, I thought this is the one. I was starting to regain mobility. I do not feel this way any longer. 1. Severe fatigue, so much so I can fall asleep sitting up. 2. Because of the above, I am in a fog and can't think. 3. Eyes are blurred and dry, also, I have my 1st chalazion in my eye. For those who don't know, it's like a stye. 4. Headaches. 5. At 57, I have acne issues, not a lot, but there are pimples filled with fluid. 6. My left leg swells a lot, and my foot. 7. Today, trouble breathing. We are all different."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Ulcerative Colitis "I am 64 and have suffered from ulcerative colitis/Crohn’s disease for many years. I was having entyvio infusions every six weeks for three years. It did help me a lot until it just quit. Daily bleeding pain and clots were back. My specialist put me on Rinvoq 28 days ago today. It stopped the bleeding etc., in 2-3 days!! My stools are completely normal and I have no urgency to get to the bathroom. I’ve been on 45 mg for 28 days. Tomorrow I start 30 mg. I’m so thankful for this medicine."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Ulcerative Colitis "I had been in remission for UC for 8 years when I had a recurrence. My GI doctor put me on Rinvoq starting with a high dosage and then stair-stepping down on the dosage. Within 4 days, I saw a significant improvement in my bowel movements and a significant reduction in bleeding. Over the next 6-8 weeks, I continued to progress and went back into complete remission. I have not been taking any medications for almost 10 months now after being treated with Rinvoq. I had no side effects except gaining weight back."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have had RA for 10 years. I was on a new drug every 6 months because nothing was working. I have had countless surgeries to remove nodules on my hands, elbows, and arms. I have been hospitalized twice for acute pain. I have been diagnosed with a severe and aggressive form of RA. I have been on Rinvoq for nine months. The drug started working right away and I am currently in remission. I used to take Prednisone like it was candy. In 9 months, I have taken 2 Prednisones. My quality of life went from poor to fantastic. This has been a miracle drug for me."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Ulcerative Colitis "I have been on this med for about a month now for Ulcerative Colitis. I am losing my vision, I am getting mouth sores, I am breaking out in my scalp, my face, my cleavage, the back of my neck and upper back/shoulder area. I am exhausted, and I am still having stomach issues. I have decided that I am DONE. I am hoping my vision will improve now that I am no longer going to take this. It’s such a terrifying feeling to be losing your vision at only 42 years old. It’s miserable too. I can’t read anything without a pair of readers in the Strongest prescription. My eyes ache and throb. I shouldn’t be driving either."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "At one point I had to use a walker and wheelchair. My mobility was so bad I sold my drums and boat because I couldn't use them. I started Rinvoq and after three months, I was doing yard work and almost anything I wanted to do. It's been almost two years now and I'm playing drums again, cutting trees, yard work, cement, and pavers. No side effects, no issues. Thank you, Rinvoq."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I was in a clinical trial for Rinvoq for five (5) years. Never again. In September 2021, the FDA issued a 'boxed' warning (the most serious kind of warning) to be put on Rinvoq regarding the possibility of heart attack and stroke. The research lab conducting the study never informed me of this, and they had to have known because the FDA does not issue boxed warnings overnight. Thank God the trial ended in October 2021. In addition, the research lab did not tell me about side effects such as horrible acne with large whiteheads on my face and back pain. I would not sign up for a clinical trial again because I would not know if they were telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth. No more Rinvoq for me. The research lab also told me that Rinvoq would be available at the end of the 5-year trial if I wanted to continue taking it (I don't). Yes, available at the retail cost of $5,969.00 per month. Yes, per month. I don't know anyone who can afford that except the very wealthy."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I can relate to JJ's mom. I have had a big problem with vertigo, which I think has been exacerbated by Rinvoq. An otologist diagnosed the condition as viral vertigo. I know the literature states that Rinvoq can activate the virus that causes shingles, and I wonder if it activated a virus that may be affecting my ear. The vertigo has been debilitating at times, and the swishing noise is horrible. I was on antivirals for a year, along with a mild diuretic and a very low sodium diet. I went a whole year without a problem, during which time I was off the antiviral. After a year, the problem is back."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Atopic Dermatitis "I’ve been taking Rinvoq for roughly 4 months to treat my severe atopic dermatitis. I have finally decided to call my Dermatologist tomorrow to stop taking it due to severe acne it is causing me. I tried to stick it out but I’ve noticed the acne getting worse daily. The skin damage from the acne it’s causing me is much more damaging than the atopic dermatitis. It definitely helped with my original problem but has lowered my self esteem immensely. The type of acne it has caused for me is not the normal type. I’m not exactly sure what it is but it will not heal and is creating holes in my skin."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Crohn's Disease "I have been taking this medicine for a year now after having my first Crohn's flare ever. It involved fistulas, infections, pain, 4 surgeries in 11 months, and 4 different medications. Just had a colonoscopy this week. The Gastroenterologist says there are absolutely no signs of Crohn's anymore. Not as in remission, but cured. I am skeptical, but I do feel much better since being on Rinvoq. When I was on Remicade, it made every joint in my body hurt. I felt like a 90-year-old woman. Praying it continues to work."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Atopic Dermatitis "I have lived with severe atopic dermatitis for my entire life (62) The last decade has been debilitating despite cyclosporine, cellcept, methotrexate , imuran, buckets of topical steroids and prednisone. Dupixent helped a lot but still severe. I just started Rinvoq 15 mg 1 month ago and my severe rash, itch and pain have 75% cleared. The physical and psychological effects of decades of rash and relentless itch are indescribable. I am jumping for joy and have not felt this good for pretty much my entire life. I am hopeful for the future. Side effects are simply some acne which I can manage with over-the-counter creams and cleansers ."

Rinvoq (upadacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "Developed RA in April 2020. I'm a maintenance fitter, and it knocked me about terribly. The first doctor gave me Celebrex, which basically did nothing. Went to doctor No. 2, and he diagnosed the RA properly. Put me straight on to prednisolone 25 mg and booked me in with a specialist. I felt 20 years younger within a few days. I began taking Methotrexate and cutting back 5 mg of the prednisolone every 6 weeks. The pain and swelling started increasing, so I stopped reducing the steroids. After 3 months, he put me on Plaquenil, and I resumed cutting back on the prednisolone. It got to a point where the pain was controllable after a few hours each day. I'm sero positive, so there are good days and not so good days. My job is quite physical generally, so the RA had been quite debilitating at times. By about May this year, things weren't great again, so the doc suggested Rinvoq as an alternative. I've been on it for 2.5 months. I'm loving the results. No real side effects yet."
