For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Female, 52 years, beginning weight 177 lbs, 5'7. I took my fourth injection of 2.5 mg this morning. I've been eating about 500 calories/day. The first week I lost 2 lbs and I walked 3 miles 2 days and lifted weights 1 day. The second week back to 177 lbs, including 2 days in the gym. In the third week, I traveled and did not exercise or weigh myself. I ate out for Mother's Day and for a friend's baby shower. When I returned, I was 175 lbs. In 3 weeks, I've lost a total of 4 lbs. Side effects for me have been a little more tired-duh-less energy going in. This doesn't seem worth the cost. We meet with the doctor tomorrow about upping it to 5 mg. My husband has been diligent about walking 5-7 miles per day also on 2.5 mg, 500 calories/day, and has lost about 8 lbs. (He has more to lose than me). His side effects were little nausea the first week, a slight decrease in focus and energy, some mild headaches, and diarrhea. Says pooping is faster."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was started on Mounjaro at the end of Jan 2023. My A1C was 10, and I am 41, about 5 ft 9 in. I weighed about 350 lbs. I had no energy, had sleep apnea, hurt all the time, and could not even walk without running out of breath. I was miserable. Finally, I talked to my doctor, and she decided to try me on this. After a little struggle getting insurance to cover it and get the med in stock at my pharmacy, I got going on this new journey. About 2 months in, I started having major diarrhea and vomiting. Had to take a break for a week and then started doing my injections in my thighs instead of my belly, and that has made it a lot more bearable. I do still get diarrhea and sulfur burps for 3, sometimes 4 days after my shot, but nothing major. Now my A1C is 6, my blood glucose averages 75, and I am weighing in at 270 lbs. I can walk now without running out of breath and without being in major pain. I have made other changes, such as watching what I eat, stopping drinking soda, and started trying to walk."

"I have diarrhea, lower stomach pain, dry heaves every time I eat. I also have back pain, but that is not unusual. This pain might be a little different though. I didn't know to tell my doctor that I have had a vein occlusion in my right eye quite a few years ago. I don't know if that is important or not. I don't think I am reading as well. Not sure."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have started with 2.5 mg dose once every week on 16th April 2024. They gave me 4 rounds of this dose. Then they started with 5 mg dose once every week. Initially, I was feeling nausea, diarrhea, sour burps, and dizziness, and gradually it decreased. When I started to take 5 mg, the same symptoms, apart from diarrhea. This time I had severe constipation on the 3rd day of the 5 mg dose, but I took some home remedy and laxative medicine. Still experiencing constipation. But the good thing is my appetite has reduced significantly, I am eating like a 5 to 10-year-old child. Feeling energetic, I lost around 6 kg in weight. Sugar level is under control, reduced Humalog dose."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started this shot about 2 months ago. My doctor prescribed the 2.5 first. I took it on Saturday morning, so I had the weekend to see how it made me feel. By Weds, I had flu-like symptoms for the day and missed work. The nausea lasted for the first few weeks, but I've completed my box of 5 mg, and I haven't had any nausea with it. However, I do have sulfur burps when I eat too much. And I have to force myself to drink water. But I rarely eat between meals, and I am down 20 pounds. I just picked up my new prescription of 7.5 and will take my first dose Saturday. I'm in my 50s, I am 5'3" and I started at 267 pounds. I have been on metformin for years. I've had severe diarrhea on metformin and would be in the bathroom multiple times a day with watery stool. I also ate everything in sight and snacked constantly. Now I have normal bowel movements. I also do not sweat profusely as I did on metformin. I have to say this shot has changed my life, and I am happy I am on it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I had insulin resistance and was overweight. I started taking Mounjaro and have lost 34 lbs and am now within 8 lbs of my goal weight. I have not increased my physical activity. My A1C has gone from 7.0 to 5.4. I started taking it 7 months ago. I have been on the 10 mg dosage for the last 2 months. I find that it is very easy to use. The side effects at first were nausea and diarrhea. They were very severe at first, but have calmed down and now I might experience some slight nausea the day after my injection. I also find that I really do not have any interest in food and do not feel hungry. I need to eat small meals of mostly protein and get full on very little food. Another side effect that seems to have gotten worse in the last 2 or 3 months is extreme fatigue. I find that I have very little energy."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Mounjaro 7 days ago for type 2 diabetes and weight loss. Days 1, 2, and 3 were great. Appetite was almost nonexistent, great, right? Day 4, my vision started to blur. Days 6 and 7, reoccurring stomach aches and diarrhea. I’m now on day 7 and my vision is so blurry I can barely see up close or far away. My vision was 20/20 before starting this. The insert says it can make diabetic retinopathy worse, to my knowledge, I don’t have diabetic retinopathy. I have an appointment with a retina specialist tomorrow. Works great as an appetite suppressant, and it really lowered my blood sugar, however, I need to see. So it’s going to be a no for me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started this medication on 2/2/23; I am 36 years old, 5'5", and 179 pounds. As of today, 4/20/23, I weigh 160 pounds. Since 2019, I have not been able to lose weight after I had my son. I exercised routinely and would gain, lose, gain, lose, but couldn’t get past 171 lbs. My doctor saw my hopelessness, and luckily I have a Health Savings Account (HSA) that can cover this medication for 7 months. I haven’t had any major side effects. It actually has corrected issues. I don’t have diarrhea anymore; that was practically a daily thing for the last year before I started this medication. I feel healthier taking this medication. I exercise three times a week, and I’m trying to create a practical routine after I have to stop this medication. I’m on 7.5 mg and currently will stay at that dose. I highly recommend it. I’m not diabetic, but my fasting glucose was in the mild range, which leads me to believe that has been my problem over the past 4 years."

For Type 2 Diabetes "It really does not control my glucose levels without Novolog and Tresiba. I’ve developed chills, shakes, nausea, and diarrhea. My doctor says it shows the shot is working. I’m not dealing with the level of neuropathy like Trulicity. Plus, my GFR came back by 10 points."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've only had 2 shots and 2 days until the next one. I find it very convenient to administer. However, I have had some nasty side effects! I've had diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, fatigue. I will continue taking the medication hoping the side effects will 'calm down.'"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I took the 2.5 mg for four weeks, then I did the 5.0 mg for four weeks. I am now taking 7.5 mg. I am taking it for eight weeks. I did the research and studies on what to do. I do not eat fried foods. I do not eat sweet things, especially ice cream, which is my absolute favorite food. I have not been sick. I have not had diarrhea or been constipated. I do not overeat, which is in the instructions. My blood glucose has dropped 30 points. I won't know what my A1C is until I go back to my doctor for a test. My only problem is the cost. So far, I am doing very well on Mounjaro. It is very easy to use."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started at the lowest dose, even though I was switching over from Ozempic, and I had been on 7.5 mg of that for over a year or longer. It was out of stock, and they didn’t know when it would be back in. I switched to Mounjaro. I have been taking the once-a-week injection for about 6 months, I think. I am on 10 mg now. Yesterday, I had my A1C checked, and it had gone down from 6.7 in March to 5.9. I was thrilled. I’ve lost 19 lbs, which isn’t huge, but it’s something. I was 250 lbs and now 231 lbs. I’ve been pretty happy and eating less and feeling fuller longer. The side effects I’ve noticed are sometimes I have low sugars, but I need my insulin adjusted, and I have diarrhea every morning and occasionally during the day. I think I’m going to start a probiotic. The goal is to get off my insulin. That is the plan of me and my endocrinologists."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started with 2.5 mg, then increased the dosage to 5.0 mg, and then 7.5 mg without any success. Skipped 10.0 mg and then moved up to 12.5 mg, and that is when the success came! I lost 25 lbs in 3 months, and it brought down A1c from 8.0 to 7.0. I had minor side effects such as diarrhea and some stomach upset. Overall, a very positive experience."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Not long after I began taking Mounjaro, my A1C dropped from 8.1 to 6.7. Finally, something that's helping. I’ve also lost some weight, although it's been a slow process. Now I’m beginning to have stomach issues along with diarrhea. Just makes me feel sluggish. I’m on the 10.0 dose, and the doctor said I may need to drop down to a lower dose. It's very easy to use. Giving myself a shot is not a problem."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I began my journey on April 12th, 2024. I'm currently on my second dose of 7.5. A bit more stomach issues, diarrhea, and extreme fatigue. No desire to eat whatsoever. Since I've started, I have lost a total of 50 lbs. as of 9/2/24. Yes, I'm Type 2 diabetic, but I wanted to give this medication a try to see if it would be of any help for me to lose weight. It has far exceeded my expectations! It's been a bit rough, but I'm seeing great results. I'll continue on this journey with hopes of meeting my own personal weight loss goals."

"I started at the 2.5 mg dose for weight loss. I felt little to no appetite for the day. Then that night, I was throwing up and having severe diarrhea, like it was the worst stomach flu I’d ever had. I decided I’d not take it again. It would’ve helped me lose weight, just not the way I’d want."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Lowered A1C from 8.7 to 7.2 in 90 days on the 2.5 mg. I have not checked on the 5.0 mg. Blood sugar is down from 180s to 110s. The blood sugars stay consistent for the most part. I know which foods will raise it, such as corn products and wine, though it does not go beyond 130s for me. Started on 2.5 mg and just raised to 7.5 mg, which is hard to get. It took 3 months of backorder. If I overindulge in food or wine, I will not have a pleasant night. Nausea and diarrhea will happen. It helps with appetite control. This starts happening with the 5.0 mg, but I have really noticed the difference in the 7.5 mg. I typically need a snack between meals, now I can go longer without feeling so hungry or jittery. I have yet to lose any weight, but I think it will come as I continue with the 7.0 mg. I have lowered my Toujeo dosage from 82 to 50 units per day. It is a big drop with each higher dosage. I believe I will be in the 30s by the time I step up to the 10.0s. I also take Metformin XL."

For Type 2 Diabetes "So far, so good until yesterday. I think I ate too much, and then the stomach pain started, and diarrhea followed all night. As I tried to ingest water, I became nauseous and had to throw up, but that decreased the pain. I think I’m just getting used to the drug since this was my first dose of 7.5 mg pen."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Currently on 750 Mounjaro. 2nd injection on Wednesday, had a 17-hour episode of vomiting and diarrhea on Sunday afternoon into Monday morning. I did not take the 3rd injection the following Wednesday. By Friday, I had the hungry horrors and joint pain in my hips and knees. Weight loss about 25 lbs, and my A1C only came down from 7.5 to 7.1 in the 5 months I’ve been on Mounjaro. If you take these meds, please listen to your body and the way it reacts to these meds."

For Type 2 Diabetes "When I first started taking Mounjaro, I didn't feel like eating at all, and I started to lose weight quickly. In fact, I lost 9 pounds in two weeks. I had diarrhea about three times a day in the beginning, it wasn't until about three months for that to stop. But now I have issues with belching and gas. I am now down 50 lbs, which is great, but I lost a lot of muscle tone. All in all, my blood sugar is doing great. I do recommend staying hydrated and taking some anti-gas meds if stomach pain persists."

For Type 2 Diabetes "The first time I used Mounjaro, I had absolutely no side effects other than being full and not wanting to eat. Months later, I begged my doctor to give it to me again to help me lose weight. I’ve been on it the second time, and I’ve had severe diarrhea for over a week. And I didn’t lose an ounce! I’m eating so little food, wanting to lose weight, that I’m shocked at how much and how long the diarrhea is lasting. I weigh myself each Saturday morning, then do the shot. Write it on the calendar to track my weight loss. No change from the start to last week. Bummer, so I’ll continue to finish my prescription and look at the end results."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I take it for type 2 diabetes and obesity for 1 month now. It made me itch, sick stomach, and very fatigued. Lost 12 lbs so far, loose stools. Will stay on 2.5 dosage for another month. I don't think I can handle a higher dose."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Mounjaro worked well in the beginning. My BGL was lower, and I lost weight. After about 18 months, the control of my BGL was not as consistent. I experienced nausea and loss of appetite from the beginning, but that lessened over time. Recently, I have begun to experience severe diarrhea and belching for several days after taking a shot."
