For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I lost 9 pounds the first month, and apart from a slightly upset stomach and heartburn for a few days, I was fine. I moved up to 5 ml on week 5, and after a few days, I started to get cramps and then vomiting. I have had bright yellow, watery liquid diarrhea. I thought I needed an ambulance, the pain was so bad. I will not be taking 5 ml after this."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "It has worked, very positive results. No side effects after 11 weeks. I was on Saxenda and had many side effects, including episodes of gout, diarrhea, and indigestion (sulfur-tasting burps). I highly recommend it but caution folks to not rush increasing the dose (2.5 mg, then 5 mg, then 7.5 mg, etc. -- I took each dose for 4 weeks before increasing -- a friend skipped from 5 mg to 10 and became very ill). My only complaint is that it is very expensive for me because my insurance will not cover it for weight loss."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Happy holidays, everyone. This medication is making it impossible for me to do anything. Dr. prescribed it. Day 1 felt fine. Day 2, near the end of the day, I had no desire for food-nothing. Today is Day 3, and I’ve been nauseous all day, and near the end of the day, I started to get diarrhea. The nausea has been pretty bad, though I did work out (it made it worse, and I had to skip some of it). Also, today, because of nausea, I have not wanted anything to eat. I forced myself to have half of an English muffin with peanut butter, and then this evening, a Campbell's soup to go since I was feeling so sick. I will not be taking the second dose this coming week when it is due because I feel miserable. It has a 5-day half-life, which is why I didn’t want to take it to begin with in case of side effects. It seems a lot of people get these side effects, and what I’ve learned is I always seem to get the side effects of medication. Be cautious. It needs a reversal pronto!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Mounjaro for almost a year. Started at 194 lbs, now averaging 145-150 lbs. In the beginning, I had the usual gastro effects - upset stomach, diarrhea, and no appetite even for water. Despite eating low calories, I lost slowly, about 1 lb a week. I had no energy to work out. If I tried staying on lower doses to minimize side effects, then the appetite would come back. After a few months, the gastro effects mostly went away, and I am left with sulfur burps, fatigue, irritability, and a general meh attitude about everything. I am someone who I would say has an addictive personality, and addiction runs in my family, and this drug works on your reward systems as well, so I’m not surprised it takes away my motivation. Despite the bad, it’s the only thing that has worked for me for weight loss. Currently, I take the injection every 14 days to minimize side effects and also to keep it affordable. Doing this keeps me at the weight I’m at, which I would like to be about 10 pounds less."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I just finished my first month of Mounjaro 2.5 mg. I did experience some side effects on the first day: nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, but the second day was better. After eating a small meal, I experienced bad sulfur-like burps throughout the day. So I took Pepto Bismol, and that worked like a charm! So before each one of my injections, I take a dose of it the first half hour before with no problems now."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am just getting back on after having to quit for hip joint replacement surgery. I am up to 7 mg now. My daily glucose level is going down. I’ve had some weight loss. But the side effects are discouraging. Excessive gas, burping, bloating, diarrhea, and fluttering inside my chest. These symptoms last 2 or 3 days after injection. I am going to continue injections in the hope the side effects get better."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started using Mounjaro in March 2023, with a 2.5 mg dose, for weight loss. I shifted to 5 mg after 2 weeks; I stayed with each dose for around 2-3 months. I lost 10 kg by August (6 mo.). I had a freeze in weight loss for 5 weeks, then I lost 1.8 kg in 2 weeks when I took 10 mg. In terms of side effects, I experienced them during the first weeks of every upgrade in dose; like nausea and sometimes vomiting, headache, stomach pain, constipation and diarrhea, laziness, body ache, mood change; the worst was with 10 mg. As I have urticaria, I experienced an allergy at the needle site after week 10, which resolved in 3 days every time. This week I have pelvic, vaginal, and lower abdominal pain similar to period pain, although I have been menopausal for 4 years! I am happy about the results with minimal side effects."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started Nov 12 and am down 27 pounds. I have been on 5 mg for 16 weeks due to a shortage of 7.5 mg, so weight loss has slowed down considerably, but I am not gaining! Very sick the first week with nausea and one night of vomiting and diarrhea, but after that, only indigestion at night and occasionally like the next day after the injection! Pleased with the outcome so far! Disappointed with not moving up due to a shortage of 7.5 mg."

"I have been taking Mounjaro for 7 weeks. 4 weeks of that I was on the 2.5 mg dose and lost 15 lbs by the 4th week. The last 3 weeks I've been on the 5 mg and I've lost ZERO lbs. Seems kind of useless to take when you have all the side effects (constipation, diarrhea, bloating, gas, nausea, headache, severe fatigue) for 3 weeks straight with no weight loss. I am considering going off this medication, I think it was all just hype. I've also stopped having periods. 40 years old, SW 199, CW 185, GW 140. Also following website food/calories recommendations. I have no other disease, just obesity."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am on my 4th week of 2.5 mg. Mild side effect of constipation, which I have managed with diet. Definitely reduced appetite, no desire to eat the usual chocolate, ice cream, or crisps, or late evening snacking. Then, a day after my 4th injection, I was, for the first time, suffering with wind, including the dreaded burps. Very little appetite. That was followed by a very bad bout of diarrhea, which saw me rushing to the loo all through the night. Settling down now after 24 hours. Not eaten today yet. Hoping this won't happen again, especially as I am due to increase dosage to 5 mg next week."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Mounjaro in March 2024 at 193 pounds and an A1C of 12.3. For almost 11 years as a type 1 diabetic. By July 2024, I was down to 153 pounds and an A1C of 7.75. I started off with the two, then went to the five, then to the seven, then to the 10. But after being on a 10, I started back developing an appetite, however, I exercised at least two hours per day faithfully in the gym. When I was on the number five, I had diarrhea a lot. When I made it to the 10, I just had a lot of belching, burping, saying that the 10 wasn’t doing much, I was still at like 150. I was bumped up to the number 12, and Lord have mercy on my soul. It almost took me out of here! I lost weight too fast. I got down to 116 pounds. I couldn’t. I didn’t have any desire to eat. I didn’t have any desire to drink. I would forget that I hadn’t been drinking anything. I would forget that I didn’t eat anything, and I’m still going to the gym every single day. It was until I dehydrated twice that I..."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I didn’t think anything could decrease my appetite, but boy did this! Completely lost it, so much so that, for 2 days, my blood sugar levels were not high enough to give any injections of my regular insulin or my long-acting one. Then I started to have diarrhea. It’s not fun! But if you’re looking for something to quash your appetite, this is it!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "My A1C and glucose levels are great. I am not on insulin. Side effects are rotten. Nausea, GERD, constipation/diarrhea, headache, stomach pain, decreased appetite every shot lessens over the week. Had this with Ozempic and Trulicity too, but not as severe. I have seen no weight loss benefit despite a decent diet and moderate exercise 3-5 times per week. Other side effects I’m not sure are related: feeling of lump in throat, slight face rash, occasional blurred vision, tingling in hands."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Type II diabetic and was on Ozempic but was having multiple issues getting it from the pharmacy. The doctor changed to Mounjaro. Had to start with the 10 mg dose as they were out of 7.5. A tiny bit of nausea in the beginning and had the runs but that subsided after about two weeks. Appetite suppression is great and I eat smaller portions and am satisfied. Lost 22 lbs in 4 months. 231 lbs - 209 lbs. 48 y/o female. I had a terrible time losing weight prior as I also have Hashimoto's, despite working out 4/5 days a week of strength training. Mounjaro finally got me over the hump."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on the lowest dose of Mounjaro, 2.5 ml, for 3.5 weeks. I'm averaging a loss of just over 2 lbs per week. I'm going slow on purpose. Definitely less thoughts about food and less appetite. Feel full way sooner. I usually eat pretty clean anyways but now I'm weightlifting twice weekly in addition to 30-minute walks. All about 4-5 days per week. I'm 59, so my endurance is different now. I do get nausea on and off, which doesn't bother me. Depending on how much vegetable matter I consume, my bowel movements are good. Sometimes I get a bit of diarrhea but nothing terrible. Because of my age and lack of exercise, my BMI and fat % is not as good as it should be, and I struggle with the inherited fat gene thing from my family history. I would highly recommend this product. I do not have any form of diabetes."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started on 12-2-22. It’s 1-7-23. I’m now on 5 mg. My gallbladder was removed 10 years ago and I would have horrible gas, nausea, and diarrhea since surgery—until now! I was actually afraid to take this medication due to worsening my gallbladder tummy. All of those symptoms are gone. I just don’t eat much. I’m losing weight, probably 10 lbs so far. What I like about this med is that it’s a lifelong change. The injection is painless. I had 2 c-sections and I don’t feel the area around my stomach, so I put the injection there."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "In 2023, I became concerned when I gained weight, leading to me being 202 pounds. After my first Mounjaro shot, I felt appetite suppression immediately. Two days later, I made the mistake of eating greasy, cheesy pizza, leading to nausea, and I threw it up. Try to eat nutritious and less fried food on it. Also, I experienced severe cramps and diarrhea. It was just my first week, though, and I was notified that nausea and gastrointestinal issues are common for the first 1-2 weeks. It definitely gets better as your body gets used to it. As I have taken long gaps of 10-14 days in between doses, mild gastrointestinal problems still occur, but it’s definitely more manageable than before. Overall, I am very satisfied with this medication. I am much more in control of eating and don’t binge. I also lost 12 pounds in 5 weeks!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking medication for 16 weeks and lost 35 lbs. I have had some problems with stomach issues, but they come and go. I have had some constipation and diarrhea with the increase and the start of taking the medication. Sometimes it can be bad, but for the most part, I feel like the med is working."

For Type 2 Diabetes "On 7.5 g Mounjaro. Blood sugar numbers came down. Weight did not. Experienced many of the more common side effects, e.g., diarrhea, gas, increased GERD. Ate less, watched protein intake closely. Experienced acute pancreatitis that was caused by gallstones, including one that blocked a biliary duct. After gallbladder surgery, my primary care physician decided to take me off Mounjaro permanently. I want to stress that I do NOT believe the drug had a thing to do with the pancreatitis, as I had the gallstone symptoms far longer than I was taking Mounjaro."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Mounjaro eliminated my appetite. Foods I previously craved and binged on were no longer of interest. I felt full after a few bites. However, when my doctor increased the dose from 2.5 mg to 5 mg, I began having side effects and ended up in the ER with severe diarrhea that was causing dehydration. I stopped taking Mounjaro after 6 weeks, but I did lose about 15 lbs during that 6 weeks. I want to restart but am worried about the side effects again."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am 5'9", 64 years old, and female. I weighed in at a high normal body weight, but my A1C was nearly 13. My doctor tried Metformin with fast and long-acting insulin and also Januvia, and my blood sugars were horribly unstable, dropping to 45 in the middle of the night and waking up over six hundred. I also have fatty liver disease with stage four cirrhosis. I've been on Mounjaro for eight weeks and lost 24 pounds, which still leaves me at the higher end of normal body weight, but my A1C fell to 7 after a month. I am on the 5 mg but wish I had stayed at 2.5 for a while, as the side effects like bloating, indigestion, and diarrhea have started again, and I don't really need a lot of weight loss. The fact that it breaks down fat in the liver and controls my diabetes is the best thing. The worst thing is the waves of nausea, fatigue, and dizzy spells I get in the first few days after taking it, but it's still worth it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Type 2 - I had been on Ozempic. It made me vomit/diarrhea, had Charley horses and hand tremors, and I was belching acid. After 3 months, my Endo switched me to Mounjaro, stating it was stronger, but many people tolerate it better. Week one, I was sick six days. All the same symptoms I had on Ozempic, only more severe. Heart rate 15 beats higher per minute. Week two, I was sick five days. Week three, within 12 hours, all the same symptoms began, and more. The vomiting was severe (mouth and nose). The belching was rank smelling/tasting. Diarrhea. My appetite was definitely curbed. My belly sounded like a flood of water flowing through my innermost pipes but felt numb. Eyes were so dry. My watch alerted me that at night my respiration rate was dipping to 7.5. (Did not even know my watch tracked that!) My heart rate dipped to 45. My blood sugar went to 43. Felt like I was not going to breathe or control peeing. And more! Day five, I ended up in the hospital in AFIB with a high heart rate. ICU."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Lost 60 pounds in 4 months. Stomach pain and alternating diarrhea and constipation. I had recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes with an A1C of 6.6. Now my A1C is down to 5.5. My sleep apnea went from 27 incidents per hour to less than 2 per hour. I just started taking the 10 dosage. Every time I up my dosage, I have a few days of bad side effects, especially stomach pain, but after a while, they lessen, however, diarrhea or constipation never stops."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Taking the lowest dosage for 10 weeks. I’ve had to reduce my insulin dosage to avoid “lows.” I’m down about 15 pounds and my blood glucose numbers seem pretty stable. But I haven’t checked my A1C. The only negative side effect has been diarrhea, which seems to have subsided."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My appetite and being a lifelong ‘foodie’ hit a final conflict point four years ago when I lost my ability to work off my weight easily. My knee pain and depression combined to make me asocial, deeply uncaring about my condition and convinced of no hope. I am pretty miserable. At 15 mg a week, food has moved from center stage to a stronger support character. Only one bout of intestinal irritation has marred my experience with diarrhea, vomiting, pain. But my insulin levels remain superb and my glucose monitor has become a friend, not an inevitable betrayer."
