"I've been taking it for about 9 months. I spent about 6 months on 2.5, then 3 months on 5.0 and am currently on a 7.5 dose as of 3 weeks ago. I have lost 75 lbs. My A1C is down to 5.4 from 7.5 and I no longer need metformin. Only recently have I experienced any side effects. I am having heartburn or a feeling like something is stuck in my throat, just below the neck/collar area. I'm hoping this will stop soon."

"Maxed out on three oral DM2 meds and three BP meds, 5'4", weighing a miserable 237 lbs, wearing size 18-20, unable to muster energy to exercise. Began the Mounjaro journey in March 2024. Increased Mounjaro dosage each time I reached a plateau with 2-4 lbs stagnant weight loss over 4 weeks. No side effects beyond mild constipation, relieved with prunes and occasional stool softener. Today, on the 2nd month of Mounjaro 15 mg. Current weight 153 (84 lbs gone!), with a goal weight of 140 lbs. Currently wearing size 10, no oral DM2 meds, 2 BP meds at half of initial doses, A1C 5.0. 66 years young today, now mowing and weed-whacking the yard, walking, running up and down stairs, boundless energy. Can't stop smiling. This has been a life-altering experience. Got a new driver's license when I realized I was virtually unrecognizable in the old photo."

"I started Mounjaro 7 weeks ago. The first shot made me so nauseous and have such bad abdominal pain that lasted for 12 hours. I almost went to the ER. I told my doctor about my experience, and she gave me Zofran and told me to continue dieting. Fast forward to this weekend - took my shot on Friday morning, then spent all day Saturday and Sunday projectile vomiting (it literally ended up about 7 feet from where I was standing), uncontrollable diarrhea, disgusting sulfur burps, horrible heartburn, and dizziness. Finally, I decided to go to the ER and got treated for dehydration. They told me to follow up with my primary doctor to talk about the best way to continue the medication. After this experience, I am NEVER taking this drug again. While I've lost 25 lbs in the past 7 weeks, I believe it's mostly because I've been afraid to eat anything. I will continue to eat healthy and cut carbs and sugars, but I won't be taking Mounjaro again."

"As of today, 9/5/2022, I have been on Mounjaro for 5 weeks. I have experienced upset stomach, nausea, weakness, and tiredness. I am on 2.5 mg. Hoping symptoms start to disappear. I am a Type 2 diabetic, and the pills didn't seem to help. I am in my 60s, so was wondering if that mattered. I'm not sure. I would like to continue the Mounjaro, but if side effects persist, I may have to try other options."

"It’s been 2 years. Yes, there were challenges. Some nausea. Lot’s of constipation. Some fatigue. And mostly good aversion. I understand fully the phrase eat to live. This medication was/is a game changer for long-time diabetes sufferers. I lost 50 pounds. Got off of insulin shots. Cholesterol meds. BP meds. I am over 60 years old and feel better than I did at 40. I would rate my experience on Mounjaro on a scale from 1-10, a solid 10. Everyone’s journey is unique, based on many different factors. I would rate my journey as successful."

"I have been on several of the once-a-week injection pens, currently Mounjaro. I was in need of knee replacement with my A1c at 8.9. With Mounjaro, I went down 30 lbs. and to 7.8 on my A1c, it had to be below 8.0. My weight was 273, down from 305. It's been a little over a year ago since my surgery, but my weight has gone up to 292. The Mounjaro no longer seems to curb my appetite, and last check at my endocrinologist my A1c is back up to 8.7. I'm soon to be 65 years old and with both knees replaced, even walking is a labored chore. Shoulder replacement is in my future, but again the A1c will have to come down. I've maxed out at the 15mg dose."

"I started at 373 pounds, type 2 diabetic. My blood sugar was under control, I was taking metformin for about a year. My A1c was around a 6. In 2 months' time, I've lost 65 pounds. I started with the 2.5 mg, no side effects, moved to a 5 mg, had the suffer burps that folks are alluding to, but nothing else. I went to the 7.5 mg, then moved to the 10 mg. From about 5 mg on, I had to make myself eat, and like others, I started eating right. My energy levels are up. No vomiting or liver failure, thank God. I'm now currently on the 12.5 mg. Other than no appetite, I seemed to have dodged the side effects. I'd recommend this to anyone, it has done wonders for me."

"I have been on Mounjaro for 9 weeks. I had to jump from 5 to 10 mg last week due to shortage issues. I am having several problems with severe bloating, constipation, headache, and stomach pain. I have severe gas that keeps me up most of the night and can be a sign of impending intermittent diarrhea at times. I am always full and started pushing myself to eat as I can go all day with nothing. Now I have small welts and itching at injection sites. Total weight loss: “0.” My blood sugar is higher, especially in the morning. This drug is horrible, and I won’t put my body through it anymore. I can lose weight easier and healthier than this since it ruined my Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. I was so excited to try it and had hope. I’m thankful for all those who are benefiting from it. Good luck to all. It just wasn’t for me."

"I’m a type 2 diabetic. I have been on Mounjaro since 10/10/22. I have lost 56 lbs, and I haven’t had any major side effects. I have been eating healthy and exercising 1 hour a day, so it has helped me with weight and my blood sugar."

"I had previously been on Trulicity, and the doctor switched me to Mounjaro since I have so much extra weight on me. He started me on the 5 mg pen since I had already been on Trulicity. I lost minimal weight on Trulicity. Some, but not enough to say it's awesome. The only side effect I've had on Mounjaro is occasional constipation/reflux, which is manageable. Maybe it is because I got past/thru all the nasty side effects while on Trulicity, and that minimized the effects of Mounjaro? I feel bad for all those that have had adverse effects on Mounjaro. I have lost about 10 pounds so far in just over 2 weeks, and I can tell a HUGE difference in my appetite. I mean HUGE. I'm not hungry like I used to be. In fact, this drug curbs my appetite SO much, that I have to force myself to eat sometimes, and in having to do that, it makes me instinctively want to eat more healthy food. This drug has helped with weight loss, and I am excited to see how much I will lose and get my A1C down."

"Appetite decreases, feeling full very fast (after 4-5 bites), which lowers food intake, which thus reduces calories ingested. Very slow and steady weight loss of 50 lbs over 10 months, now leveling out at a plateau. A1C dropped from 7.5 to 5.1. Blood pressure lower, feeling so much better. Sleep improved. No significant side effect during my experience."

"Horrible experience taking this drug. I do not recommend taking this medication unless you want to die. I started taking 2.5 mg 6 days ago. Day 2 and 3 had no appetite and ate very little because the thought of food made me sick. Day 4 and 5 developed nausea, severe abdominal pain, and indigestion unrelieved by antacids. I also have lost five lbs because I am unable to eat or drink anything. I do not have any energy or feel like doing anything. Day 6 and I still feel sick. My fasting blood sugar this morning was 224 even though I am not eating or drinking hardly anything at all. It is noon, and I haven’t eaten anything because I’m afraid I will throw up. My heart rate is 120 and normally runs in the eighties. My doctor is out of the office this week for holidays. Just hoping and praying I don’t wind up in the emergency room. I will never inject this toxic stuff into my body again. I also read that it can cause thyroid cancer."

"Mounjaro has certainly reduced my A1C. My DR prescribed 2.5 for one month, then 5.0 for one month and 7.5 after that. Unfortunately, I started vomiting really bad, and I stopped for two weeks. I committed to 5.0 after that, but the vomiting has continued about two days after my shot. I have to stop the Mounjaro, and I know my A1C will go back up. I hope that a new version will be developed to eliminate the vomiting, as the drug for type II diabetes is a godsend."

"Been on Mounjaro for 5 weeks for weight loss. Started with 2.5 the first month, now on 5 mg. Lost 20 lbs so far. Been on 5 mg for 5 days now and extremely fatigued and weak, however, I’m not going to complain because I’m not hungry at all. Have no desire for food since being on 5 mg. You have to make yourself eat and drink because you feel full constantly. Mouth is very dry, so drinking water regularly is a must. Highly recommend for weight loss. Hopefully, the fatigue will go away once I’m into the second week of the 5 mg and my body adjusts."

"Mounjaro is keeping my diabetes in check. In the process, I am down 66 lbs. This was unexpected, and it has been over a year. I'm not telling you to take Mounjaro to lose weight, I'm telling you only what has happened to me. So here is the side effect: I eat when I remember, and I eat what I want, no diet, and most of my clothes have gone to other homes."

"I am overweight and was sent to an endocrinologist by my PCP. A1C came back 6.9, and I received the dreaded diabetes diagnosis. The endocrinologist asked me about my eating habits and suggested Mounjaro once a week injection. Sceptical I was, but I was willing to try to get my weight down and get my A1C down. First injection, no severe vomiting or anything. The only side effect I had was the constipation, I was put on a stool softener and take fiber daily, which eliminated that side effect. Within two months, I was down 15 pounds, have not given in to eating a Boston crème doughnut, on which I tend to binge, limited on my intake of food because overindulging makes me feel lousy and gives me indigestion. Within three months, my A1C is down to 5.3, and my weight is still going down. Thank you so much to the researchers who created this drug because it has saved my life and gotten me on the road to better health. The needle doesn't even hurt when I self-inject. I am grateful."

"I am on this drug, Mounjaro, and I have lost about 30 pounds and counting, taking 2.5 units. My doctor is taking me off my meds for diabetes. I had side effects in the first week. This drug is working, and I’m continuing to lose more weight until I reach my goal. At first, I was skeptical about trying this because I tried so hard to lose the weight alone, but nothing helped me out there. I’m so happy that I lost the weight, and I feel a lot better about myself now."

"I have been type 2 for 7 years and have been on many drugs. I have gone from A1C of 11.6 to 5.8 in 10 weeks. I have never felt so good and lost 21 pounds. I can’t say enough good about this drug. It has saved my life. I am 70 years young and feel like I am getting a second chance at living. I can’t thank you for what it has done for me. The first two boxes were paid for me as a gift, and that gift has saved my life. Thank you and your company for what you have done for anyone who is type 2."

"Mounjaro has been highly effective in lowering my blood sugar levels. My A1C was at 11.8% and in 4 months was down to 7.8% (doctor’s office) and at 6 months it was down to 6.6% (per GCM). I was also on daily fast-acting and slow-acting insulins, and the fast-acting has been discontinued because of progress. (I also exercise and eat very healthy.) I’m on the highest dose and I’m doing well. In the beginning, I had some nausea but hung it out and rarely experience nausea now. I have noticed a “blah” feeling and I feel tired most of the time. Those are the main things I have noticed. It has been highly beneficial for me, but I am looking forward to when I do not need it anymore."

"I started on 2.5 mg for a month, then went to 5 mg. All I can say is that I'm tired of being sick. It feels like a stomach bug every time you eat something, and I'm talking about healthy food. I have had nothing but sickness. I have not lost any weight, I'm bloated all the time and just plain sick. It really has not done anything for me, but I hope this helps."

"I'm 72 now, I started Mounjaro 15 months ago. I was 259 lbs and type 2 diabetic and alcoholic. Funny, after I started Mounjaro, I noticed I no longer craved alcohol, which, after drinking, I'd started eating. One beer, and I felt full and just didn't want it. I discussed this with my doctor, who stated others have told him the same. This drug has changed my life for the better, blood work is great, and my cardiologist is very happy about my results. My orthopedic doctor is very happy also. Thanks for this wonderful drug. I'm no longer obese, no longer type 2 diabetic, and no longer craving alcohol, plus, I'm mobile and can do so much more."

"Works well for daily glucose control and weight management. I find it really curbs my overactive appetite and allows me to lose weight consistently but slowly, which is fine for me. No side effects that I’m aware of. I’m on 12.5 now."

"I just took my fourth injection, and I couldn’t be more excited! I’ve lost 10 pounds in three weeks, my appetite is controlled, I feel like I’ve finally got some hope to get my health where it needs to be. My morning fasting glucose is close to 100 (always near 140), no more crazy spikes hitting 200-300. I do get very tired the day of each shot. The first three days or so of my first injection, I was so ill (sick stomach). I got some Zofran, and that helped tremendously, so I’ll expect to need that with each dose increase. Looking very forward to 5 mg next week :) Ins won’t pay for it yet, even though I’m type 2, but I’ve got a coupon for it and paid $25 a month. Thank God, or I couldn’t get it, hopefully soon it will be covered."

"I had a very bad experience with Mounjaro. After two weeks of taking the 5.0 mg, I developed chest pains and a severe case of what I thought was reflux or heartburn. I really felt like I might be having a heart attack. I stopped taking it and reported it to my doctor. My doctor suggested I should continue taking it, but she would reduce the dose. I went back on metformin for about a month; then, I started the 2.5 mg dose of Mounjaro. I took the reduced dose for about two weeks and started having severe pains in my upper stomach. I went to urgent care, and they examined me and took X-rays, then sent me to the ER for further tests. After a CT scan, I was told my gallbladder was inflamed and needed to be taken out. I was in surgery by 10:30 am the next morning to have my gallbladder removed. I am 60 years old and have never had any problems this severe. I have fully recovered from the surgery but now have a $1,700 hospital bill. Thank God for insurance. The total bill was over $50,000."

"This medication has been life-changing. Started with 2.5 mg and now at 5 mg. A bit of constipation and nausea, but nothing major. I started at 288 lbs and now at 236 lbs. I am a male, 5’11”. I hope I can get to my goal of 190 lbs in a few months. Working out, walking, and avoiding carbs is key. No fried foods or heavy carb meals, or you will pay a price. Lots of protein, lean meats, and veggies/berries. Good luck, everyone."
