Ticagrelor for Prevention of Atherothrombotic Events "Had weakness, no energy, went for catheterization, found 90 percent blockage in the left artery. They used a balloon only, no stent because of the location of the blockage. See, I had a triple bypass in 2000 after a myocardial infarct. The blockage was where the graft that was sewn in. The doctor put me on Brilinta, could not tolerate it, as I was not being able to breathe. I even went to the ER thinking it was my heart, but I was fine, they thought it was a virus. But I thought, I bet it's that drug, so I stopped it, and I can breathe now."

Ticagrelor for Heart Attack "I had terrible side effects from this drug, Brilinta. Aside from feeling exhausted, I was unable to breathe and was gasping for breath. I felt sluggish and tired all of the time. I could not take a deep breath. It felt like asthma. After a month of being switched to prasugrel (Effient), I felt much better and more normal."

Ticagrelor for Prevention of Atherothrombotic Events "I have been on Brilinta for 30 days. I am also an asthmatic, so breathing is always a problem. This medication does not make it any easier. I remember waking up because it felt like someone was covering my mouth and nose. I could not catch my breath. I am always tired, body aches, lightheaded. Yes, I do bleed heavily when it is a small cut. I bruise very easily. Every day I wake up, I have a new purple, red, black, and green bruise. As time goes on, the breathing is not as bad. The bruising is still horrible. I pray one day soon I will be off this medication."

For Acute Coronary Syndrome "I am taking Brilinta along with Eliquis and aspirin after angioplasty and stent. I have no way to know how effective it is, but have not had a stroke, which I'm told is the purpose. I have difficulty with painful breathing when standing or walking, brief painful headache at the same time. For about 8 to 9 hours after taking it, I have much difficulty standing or walking. I am 77 years old, and it was suggested that my age makes me more vulnerable, but I have had no problem with bleeding. I am diabetic, but lancing for glucose testing presents no more blood than usual. I feel very lethargic but not sleepy."

For Heart Attack "I was taking ticagrelor 90 mg twice a day for a year. Horrid side effects, tiredness, bruising, nosebleeds, and every other month I couldn’t walk properly, my feet were like glass. Turns out it was gout (not in toes, in feet). Came off the ticagrelor 2 weeks ago, feel much better, breathing improved, no pain in my joints, no bleeding, and no bruising. Very nasty tablet!!!!"
