Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started Wegovy at the end of March 2022 on 0.25, and it definitely worked at suppressing my appetite. I had slight nausea the first two days after injection, but not too bad. I just started the .5 dose on week 5, and I’ve gotten terribly sick. I was up all night with diarrhea and vomiting, similar to food poisoning. I don’t think I will continue after this experience. Very unfortunate because it does work if you can handle the side effects."

Semaglutide "I began taking this medication off-label for weight loss. I am on my second week and took my second shot last night. I felt my appetite decrease the first week. I threw up from nausea this morning. I think I ate too much yesterday. The med does slow down digestion to leave you feeling full longer. I did eat a normal serving of dinner but had eaten a couple of hours prior, and I just don't think my body could process all the food. I won't be giving up on the med. So far, the nausea/vomiting and perhaps some vision changes are the side effects I am noticing. My eyes seem tired, and it's not that I can't see, but they feel a bit strained. I should add that so far, I have lost 5 pounds in 7 days."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I gained 70 pounds during the pandemic. December 2019, I was 138 pounds standing at 5'3. Then in January 2021, I was 209. I started having back pain and foot pain from the weight. I tried dieting, but I am a single mom that doesn't have time to cook healthy every night, and I work around food, so I told my doctor he has to prescribe me something to lose weight. He saw it was taking a toll on my health as well, so he started me on .25 Wegovy injections. I lost 13 pounds my first month. I had nausea once or twice, nothing I couldn't handle, and I vomited only once. I even had more energy. Then he prescribed me the .5 the next month, but pharmacies all in a 30-mile radius were on backorder for the entire summer with no hopes of getting it in until the end of September. I kept being persistent with the pharmacist, and she said, have your doctor call me, he can up your milligram, and we can get that dose in 2 days, so at this point, I was desperate and starting to gain back the 13 pounds I lost. So I was upped to 1.7. OMG"

Semaglutide "Currently on 1 mg per week (week 3). Mid-evening: feel bloated and nausea, followed by frequent watery loose stool throughout the night (ranging from 5 minutes to 30 minutes between movements). By midnight, nausea escalated to vomiting with continued watery loose stool. Early morning, body stabilizes with infrequent watery stool. Such events reoccur 2 to 3 days apart. Weight loss is ongoing."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Ozempic at the lowest dose for 4 weeks. The first week was brutal, with stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and headache, however, I injected the second week in my thigh and the side effects waned. It appears to be lowering and leveling my A1C. I'm nervous about increasing my dose next week. I can manage a week of discomfort as long as it is short-term. My body does seem to be getting used to it. I'm willing to work with it as long-term benefits for me outweigh the short-term discomfort. I may change my mind as time goes on, as these horror stories have me concerned. So strange that there is such a wide range of patient experiences...both good and bad."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking it for over a month. No side effects for the first 2 weeks on the lower dose. Since I am using the higher dose now - I have had some very bad nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Also, lots of burping, and it smells terrible. When I have vomited - it is so much volume. More than any time in my life. It has reduced my appetite, but if I drink alcohol, it usually makes me physically sick."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I just had my third injection, making it 2 full weeks on the drug. I am officially down 14 pounds as of last night. I am starting actually to see it in the mirror as well. I can't tell you how much of a confidence booster it is to know that this stuff actually works. I never feel hungry (which is a blessing because I have PCOS and used to be hungry 24/7) and still eat at normal times (i.e., breakfast, lunch, dinner) just way smaller portions than I'm used to. I work 2 full-time jobs and have worked 29 days straight without a day off and still have energy to continue, which is shocking with how little I am eating compared to before. I have found that if I stick to high protein and veggies, my stomach and nausea are under control, however, each time I have indulged and followed old eating habits (unhealthy/large portions), it's almost as if my body rejects it and I have either the runs or vomit that follows. In my opinion, it is worth it and I would recommend it to someone who struggles with portion sizes and WL."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I was prescribed Ozempic for Type 2 diabetes to help lower my blood sugar and to help with weight loss. The first week wasn't so bad, just a little fatigued and some upset stomach problems. The second week it kicked in overtime and hit me like a brick wall. I had no energy at all. Stayed in bed because it's all I could do. My stomach was so upset and nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea were so bad, it ran like water. I became more dehydrated with less energy. I have 4 autoimmune diseases and this was the sickest I have ever felt in my life. I almost went to the ER and if not for Covid, I would have. It felt like someone had been feeding me rat poison. It's the worst feeling ever. I truly don't know how this drug was approved by the FDA. I plan to take myself off it. Weight loss and blood sugar need to be done in a healthier manner. Lose weight fast and easy has consequences."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started Ozempic in October 2020. I have lowered my A1C from 8 to 5.8 and have, so far, lost 63 lbs! My appetite has decreased, but I'm eating and craving healthier food. I have continued to experience intermittent nausea and vomiting, but the side effects have significantly decreased. This is my miracle drug!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve taken two doses of Ozempic .25 mg and been on the drug for 1 1/2 weeks. I won’t be able to continue. This is a very harsh drug, and the side effects are terrible, in my opinion. I did not suffer from nausea and vomiting but couldn’t eat, food tasted horrible, my body stopped absorbing fat (evidenced in my stools), had lightheadedness, and the worst fatigue imaginable. In 1 1/2 weeks, I’ve dropped 10 pounds and feel undernourished and dehydrated. Be careful!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I had awful side effects with the 3 mg and 7 mg. Constant nausea and vomiting. I lost 12 pounds in 2 months. Once I went to 14 mg, I have no side effects. I’ve gained back the 12 pounds and am hungry all the time. My sugar stays low. I’m wondering if going back to 7 mg would help with my appetite."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Taking this off-label use for weight loss. Started at 1 mg weekly. In the first week, I vomited once and had constant nausea. Week 2, no vomiting, just nausea. Week 3, uncontrollable vomiting. Have been to the ER twice on fluids. Zofran won’t stop the vomiting. Now on a suppository to stop it as I can’t take anything orally. Still vomiting. Cannot hold anything down, even fluids. Have been off work all week, feeling absolutely horrible. Not worth it. I’ve lost 10 lbs, but it’s because I’m literally starving my body."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Three days ago, I took my third injection of 0.25 mg. I am so, so sick. I have been sick with nausea and burping since I took the first injection, but this week is the worst. Nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headaches. Today was so intensely bad I almost went to the ER. I’m trying to keep going as I desperately want to lose weight. I’m down 10 lbs in 17 days, but I’m so sick I can’t even eat healthy foods. I don’t know if I’ll be able to do the next injection, this has been so horrible. My doctor also prescribed Zofran for the nausea, but it’s not helping. Will the side effects ever stop, or should I just give up?"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I unfortunately had a very severe reaction to Ozempic. I usually do suffer side effects from most medications, but thought I would give it a try. The first two weeks were headache, general stomach ache, and constipation lasting 2 days after each injection. Weeks 3 and 4 got worse. Stronger reactions, lasting longer. Week 5, I started the double dose, and I was pretty ill for 2 days. Week 6 and 7 was rough, but I thought I could ride it out. Week 8 had me in emergency twice for diarrhea, vomiting, headache, and major dehydration. I was unable to eat or drink anything. I had to get rehydrated and be given anti-nausea meds on both occasions. I guess my body slowed the release of food so much I had a massive buildup to the point even a sip of water made me extremely nauseous. Ozempic is not for me."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Week 13 using Ozempic. I am currently taking 1 mg weekly, it is week 5 on the full dose. I am thankful that it has helped get my blood sugars back to the proper range. Prior to taking it, my sugars had been out of control for about a year. I feel like a fog has been lifted, and I can actually do more than work or sleep. I do have to admit the GI issues and migraine headaches have been horrible, some weeks more than others. I also have lost about 20 pounds and am not swollen up with water retention. Thankfully, my doctor prescribed a strong anti-nausea pill, which helps with the vomiting. I am glad to have my life back, but hopefully, I can work harder to handle my diabetes naturally as soon as possible."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have type 2 diabetes and I am obese. I started this medication in November 2023. I stopped using it for three months due to a shortage in the market in my country. I used 0.25mg for the first month, 0.5mg for the next three months, and 1mg for two months. The last dose of 1mg was taken on May 17, 2024. In November, I weighed 91kg, and I have reached 75kg or perhaps even less now. For my health, I feel significantly better while working or going upstairs. Regarding side effects, I experienced tiredness, vomiting, headaches, nausea, constipation, and stomach pain."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Started with 4 weeks of .25 mg injections and have now had two .5 injections. Was administering the injection at noon on Sundays. Each time, I'd start feeling queasy and burpy after about 24 hours. I'd feel like I was on the verge of throwing up, but for the most part would keep it down. Then on Monday of this week (after my 2nd .50 dose), like clockwork, I started feeling queasy. But this time it was a much stronger sensation, until the point that I projectile vomited about 5 times. After that was over, I felt better - UNTIL about 5 hours later, when the process repeated itself. I think it was likely due to the fact that I had some pizza and a cherry Coke that day, which was a stupid thing for me to do. So anyway, I hadn't eaten anything in 48 hours besides some cantaloupe, and now I'm experiencing mild nausea. I'm going to stick this Ozempic experience out for a while longer in the hope that eventually the side effects subside."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "So far, I love it. Did 0.25 mg for 4 weeks and lost 5 pounds (SW 162; GW 135). I just started the 0.5 mg injection this week. I don't have any of the negative side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, etc. Have had a little heartburn, but manageable with Pepcid AC. It has helped curb my appetite some and helps me control myself not to overeat, but it's not magic. I'm hopeful the appetite suppression will increase as my dosage increases. My only concern is that the 1.0 mg will not be available when I need it."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Started one week ago. The first two days were awful, but it was only awful because I ate too much food. If you lower your portions and eat small portions, you won’t be sick, but if you eat your normal amount of food, or try to, which you can’t, you will be set with nausea, vomiting, and just feeling awful. Looking forward to seeing how much good I do on this medication and exercise and help."

"This stuff is absolute hell. Yes, you will lose weight, but this is because you will feel like vomiting 24/7. I tried the lowest dose, 0.25 mg, and was massively sick for a week. Borderline ER sick. Thankfully, I had some Zofran laying around, which took the nausea away, but still felt like crap. It is impossible to exercise on this stuff as well. This is because you can't eat and have 0 energy. Another awful thing is the long half-life, so once you realize that you can't deal with the side effects, it will take a week at a minimum (dependent on your time/duration/dosage) to get back to somewhat normal, and that provided you were on 0.25 mg. Also, there are studies that you will yo-yo once off, as most people did. Stay away."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I took 2 injections. First injection, nausea by day 2-4, diarrhea day 3-5. It does curb appetite. I also had my anxiety increase (not sure if because my system was upset, but it increased). Second injection - severe nausea day 1-3, vomiting day 1-2, diarrhea day 3-5, crying/anxious day 3-5. Once again, curbed appetite. I will be discontinuing the drug. Not for me at all. I tried it, and that’s all. But I do have Hashimoto’s, and my body is always sensitive to new meds."
