Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Started out taking 0.25 for 4 weeks, then the 5th week went to 0.50. The next day I was vomiting, had diarrhea, and sulfur burps. Couldn't hold anything down, not even water. Went to the ER the 2nd day to get IV fluids. Called the manufacturer and put in a report. They sent me a mailer to return the pen for evaluation. I am keeping a record of the lot # before I mail the pen back. I am taking a nausea pill and experiencing severe cramps and diarrhea, but the vomiting has stopped. Haven't had any solid food for 4 days, trying to eat Jell-O and applesauce and can barely get it down. So wished I would have read these reviews before I bumped it to 0.5. My diabetes doctor said to decrease. I am going to stop taking it. I have no spleen, so it is difficult to manage all these side effects. Hoping and praying I can start to feel better soon."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "From the initial starting dose until I went up to 1 mg, the whole 6 months was a roller coaster of nausea, headaches, and uncontrollable vomiting. The nausea was always followed by throwing up 5-7 times per day. If I ate or drank anything with too much sugar (including fresh orange juice), then I would throw it up within 30 mins. The sulfate mouth smell, along with the vomiting, was difficult and embarrassing. Exhausted and tired feeling, along with feeling depressed and hating/disgusted by food, is how I felt. I did lose about 8 kgs before moving on to Saxenda. Get ready for Ozempic to destroy your life for a few months if you want to lose weight with it."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I am so grateful for this site. I thought I was alone in experiencing these awful side effects. Yesterday was the worst. Started with horrible rotten egg burping. Woke up with vomiting. I started on 0.5 and decreased to 0.25 because I was experiencing nausea all the time. I am tired. Two weeks ago, I had severe constipation. It really helps with glucose control. I have been on it for four weeks. I plan to see my MD this week. I don't think I can continue. I've only lost 1 lb so far."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Ozempic for 7 weeks now: 4 weeks at 2.5 and half the usual insulin dose, followed by 3 weeks at 5.0 and no insulin, as instructed by my endocrinologist. I experienced leg cramps, stomach cramps, lethargy, and light-headedness among other symptoms in the first 4 weeks. My fasting sugar results increased. During my 3 weeks on the 5.0 dose, I have suffered feelings of nausea, regular bouts of light-headedness, and my fasting sugar levels are now up to the 14-17 range. My energy levels are decreasing. I am taking myself off this medication over the next 3 weeks. An interesting experiment to undergo but not worthwhile continuing as there are no benefits (except weight loss - and I can't afford to lose too much more weight) but light-headedness, lethargy, feeling like vomiting regularly, increased cramps, and, worst of all, my blood sugar levels going through the ceiling. Concentration levels are also a concern."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I lost 25 pounds in six months, and A1C dropped from 7.2 to 6.1. While I didn’t feel like eating early on, I didn’t feel sick with nausea. In six months, I have vomited perhaps 8 times. Small price for a big improvement in weight and blood sugar."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am on my second week. First week (day after shot) I got severe nausea and dry heaving. I was so exhausted and zero energy. My depression got way worse. Second week the same. I don’t think I will continue, but I signed a contract, and I was told I can cancel at any time, but it looks like this is going to be a problem. This has been a wake-up call, and the nausea has taught me a lesson to never eat bad foods again and really focus on portion control. The side effects aren’t worth any weight loss in my opinion!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I was on Ozempic for about a year, lost +/- 14 kgs. Diabetes was controlled. After about 9 months of taking it, I started suffering with upper and lower tummy cramps and once had nausea and vomiting. Went in for an ultrasound, it showed I had a fibroid on my left ovary and my GP said I had colitis. Treated me with Nexium and Buscopan and asked me to stop the Ozempic as that was causing the colitis. Tummy cramps have not gone away completely as it's been a month since I stopped Ozempic, but I started feeling hungry all the time and it's so bad that if I don't eat, I start shaking and feel very weak. Oh, and I also started feeling very weak in my legs, not numb but tingly sort of. Sometimes I feel as if I'm going to fall to the floor in a puddle. Not sure if that is also related to the Ozempic."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started with the 3 mg, then 7 mg, and the fireworks started with the 14 mg. I started taking it the Saturday before Easter. The Tuesday after Easter, I started with diarrhea for about a week. My doctor said I may have diverticulitis and gave me an antibiotic. The diarrhea stopped for 2 weeks, then came back with a vengeance, and it brought vomiting and nausea with it. Like clockwork, every 4 days, the diarrhea would kick it off, followed by the nausea, and then the crescendo of puking my guts out. Then repeat 4 days later. I stopped taking it on a Monday, and that Friday got sick again. I read that it could take 4 to 5 weeks to get it out. It’s now 5 days, and I feel good finally. I did work on lowering my A1C, I think. I also changed my diet and started with a lot more exercise, and so far, things are good. I would avoid taking Semaglutide if possible. It didn’t work for me."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm on my third month of Wegovy. The day after my injection, I usually puke at least once and sleep 10+ hours with extreme fatigue and nausea. I started in February 2022, and now it's April 2022. I went from 247 lbs to 222 lbs. 25 pounds. I get ill if I eat sugary foods with this. I eat three small meals a day, a plant-based diet, with around 5,000 steps a day and little to no exercise outside of work. I felt good usually a couple of days after injections, and by the third week at the same dose, I had no side effects. The first two injections at a new dose aren't easy for me. I have missed work and had a hard time watching my two-year-old due to puking and fatigue. I gave 10 stars because it does as it says with side effects you are aware of to begin with."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "This stuff is horrible! One dose of 0.25 mg and started with nausea and vomiting and watery diarrhea within 12 hrs. 12 hrs later, still going. No way to reverse it, according to pharmacy. I’m 77 years old and not sure how long I can handle this. Vomiting and nausea not responding to ginger or antiemetics. Watery diarrhea not letting up at all. After reading info online, it stays in the system for 5 weeks after the last dose."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Sulfur burps (like eggs), terrible gas, confusion, diarrhea, vomiting, and nausea. Anxiety led to severe panic attacks. I did lose weight, but its side effects are not worth it. It caused me food aversion. Eating and drinking became a chore. My dose was increased each week by 0.25 mg."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "The first four days have been really rough. I’ve experienced nausea, vomiting, severe heartburn, and stomach pain. I really want this to work, so I’ll continue. The doctors have had to prescribe nausea and vomiting medicine. It helps. I’m taking Alka-Seltzer for the heartburn. I’m really hoping the side effects will stop."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "This drug is absolutely awful. I had horrible nausea from the beginning, along with vomiting and headaches 5 out of 7 days a week. I kept being told side effects would get better, but they just got worse. This is my 5th and final month on it. I literally don't remember the last time I was able to eat. 6 of the last 10 days, I wasn't even able to keep liquids down and became severely dehydrated. I had the absolute worst headache of my life. I've lost 12 pounds in 9 days, and not one pound of weight loss is worth it. I wake up in the morning wishing I'd just die instead of having to feel as awful as my body does every day. I took my last dose 10 days ago, so I'm praying this poison gets out of my body ASAP. This stuff is toxic."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I took Ozempic last October, but I had to come off it - I was so ill. I'm type 2 diabetic and Hashimoto's thyroiditis autoimmune disease. I'm 57 years old and post-menopause. The doctor decided I should try again, I started 5 weeks ago and had my 5th injection. I have been sick since I restarted. I have nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, brain fog, anxiety, burning in my stomach, headaches, and I'm so tired and weak. I tried to stick with it, I'm on the 3rd day since my 5th injection. I am so ill, I still have all the above symptoms, but worse. My kidneys are sore and my lungs. I have pain in my stomach and back. I feel like my body is poisoned, and I have to wait for 5 weeks for it to clear out of my system. I will never take this again."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Took one 0.5 shot. Will not be taking any more. Constant nausea, diarrhea, dry heaving, and rotten egg burps. It has been nine days now since the shot and only just starting to feel human, but the symptoms are still there. I honestly have felt like I have some terrible sickness bug. The sulfur burps my whole family can smell... like 5 minutes later if they walk in the room. No idea what poison this is, but for someone who has rarely had side effects of medication... this is awful."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I did not like the side effects that I experienced while taking Ozempic. The first day I was on Ozempic, I had severe vomiting. Although I did not continue to vomit, I did feel nauseated and not well the 4 months while on Ozempic. I also started experiencing severe headaches, and my sinuses became very dry and hurt. I then lost my sense of taste and smell. I stopped taking it right away. It has been more than two years since I last took Ozempic and still cannot taste or smell. I would not recommend this drug to anyone."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started this drug to try and lower my A1C, which had climbed to 7.2. My nurse practitioner put me on it. She showed me how to do the injections, but no warnings of side effects. I took a .25 dose for 4 weeks, suffering pain in my stomach that radiated to my back. Absolutely no craving to eat anything at all. Had constipation. Then I went to a .5 injection and was fine for a bit until severe nausea began, along with dizziness and vomiting. I thought it was going to be the end of me, because then the unrelenting diarrhea began. I waited days in bed, so very ill, and decided to quit this awful medication. I have lost 6 pounds, and my morning glucose numbers are 107, it's lower, but feeling this deathly ill just isn't worth it. I quit the medication, though I understand it could take 5 weeks to leave my body. Beware of this drug."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I was placed on Ozempic last year because Metformin has always caused awful nausea. I have never in my life had any issue with constipation until I started taking this medication. I was so sick with diarrhea and throwing up 3 weeks ago I thought I'd actually die. I have had bad rashes. I think they would have been worse if I were not on allergy medication. The latest rash is healing. I've never had to take laxatives until this medication. I'd rather deal with the nausea than rashes, vomiting, constipation, poor appetite, and legs feeling strange. I wasn't overweight, so that was not an issue. My numbers have never been more than 6.1. Then, when I read that it can cause death, that was the end all for me. It may help someone, but I'm not the someone! Medicine should make one better, not worse. When I first started this drug, I spoke with someone from the company that makes it about the constipation issue and also my doctor. They said that it would get better, but that hasn't happened."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "My doctor suggested I take Ozempic to bring down my weight and lower my chances of becoming diabetic, which runs in the family. I am 67 and trying to stay healthy. Started a month ago on .25, things were okay, some nausea and decrease in appetite. Started this week on .5 and have been extremely sick, two days in and vomiting frequently. Already have acid reflux, and it is getting worse. The most embarrassing part was today, as I was walking in the street, it just came upon me, and I had to find a corner to vomit on-a horrible experience, to say the least. I want to stick it out and hope it will get better, but I'm not sure I can. My doctor projects a two-month regimen. Hopefully, I can make it, but honestly, if things do not improve on my next dose, I will not be taking it anymore. I question the high out-of-pocket cost for a drug that is causing me so much misery."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "My very first injection has made me deathly ill. The nausea, vomiting, bloating, gas, most intense hunger pains, cramping, sulfur burps that make you want to throw up, and just generally feeling miserable. The thought of food most of the time has made me want to throw up. I can't take my other meds most of the time because I end up vomiting. All this while trying to work full time. I have tried Trulicity, which made me very sick, Victoza put me in the emergency room. Ozempic has me close to the emergency room if I end up dehydrated. This is how I imagine being poisoned would feel like. Medicine should not make you feel this bad. No illness that I have had has made me feel this horrible. If you have any kind of stomach issues, really, I have GERD, think twice before injecting this nasty 'medication.'"

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Wegovy (2.4 mg) 5 months ago, weighing in at 417 lbs. Today I'm down 82 lbs. Not bad for no exercise and extreme dieting! Wegovy is NOT for the weak! My first dose almost canceled me completely out of the plan! I experienced severe nausea and vomiting the first 3 days, accompanied by fatigue. I felt horrible, but I chose to stick it out after I stepped on the scale and saw amazing results! After the first month, my vomiting stopped, however, if I ate anything that didn't agree with me, it would come up. I still experience nausea, for which I take Zofran to help keep it to a minimum. The most important thing I love about Wegovy is it makes me think about what I'm going to put in my mouth and if I'm even hungry. I have to remind myself to eat a little something, but most of the time I'm not hungry at all. Most of the time, I'll make a plate and only take a few bites, wrap it up for another time. If you are serious about losing weight, Wegovy is the way to go!"

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Wegovy for 2 weeks, and I take my next injection on Monday. After taking my first injection, I was sick and had nausea and vomiting, but it got better. I've lost 8 pounds, but it does make me have anxiety. I am on a low-carb diet, but I've cheated a couple of times. So far, the nausea and vomiting and the anxiety are the only side effects I've had, but I'm sure more side effects will come later."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Severe diarrhea all the time. I could not go one day without having diarrhea. It's been two weeks since I started, btw. My shoulders and knees hurt so bad, and I'm very gassy. Occasional nausea and vomiting occurred as well. My eyesight has blurred severely. My doctor said they might remove this med from my RX due to me not being able to live a normal life. I literally have to take an extra change of clothes with me everywhere I go just in case."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Ok, so it's been 2.5 months. I made it to the 1 mg dose and had to stop. I did fine with the 0.25 and 0.5 doses and lost weight. The trouble started when I hit the 1 mg dose. I felt horrible the first week, like absolute death, with side effects of nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain-just awful. I reached out to my MD, and she said this was normal to go ahead and keep going. The second week on this hasn't been much better, with vomiting, and I'm stopping it myself. I have lost 20 lbs the last couple of months even on the lower doses, but due to supply chain issues, my pharmacy cannot get them in, so I'm having to switch medications now. Lower doses have way less side effects and are just as effective. I wish I could've continued with it."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "So I began Ozempic just a few months ago. Just took my first 1 mg dose last week, and I have to say, I am sick all the time. Anything I eat is for sure going to end up in the toilet one way or another. The diarrhea is out of control and constant. When I was only on the 0.25 mg dose, I had a window of the day where I was actually able to eat and not vomit it up later, but since going all the way up to the 1 unit, I cannot keep anything down. I have two small children, and I feel exhausted all the time from the vomiting and the nausea. I have decided today that I will discontinue this medicine as I cannot deal with the severe side effects. Even Zofran isn’t working."
