Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Endo gave me a 1-month sample for type II. Just into my second week at 0.25. Initially, upset stomach and diarrhea. Wouldn't say nausea per se, more like a stomach ache. Diarrhea wasn't crampy and prolonged like metformin. Appetite really decreased. Sugars started going down about 3-4 days in, and symptoms lessened by day 6. But.... weight gain of 3 lbs! What the...? Just on day 2 of the 2nd week, no nausea, but still eating less. Not peeing as much and waking up earlier and easier, and morning sugars down from 11-12ish to 8-9ish. I will be disappointed if I am the rare one that gains weight though."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I started Ozempic for weight loss (PCOS) on June 27th. In 10 weeks, I have lost 12 lbs. It has been slow going, but I believe it's a sustainable rate so long as the medication continues to suppress my appetite. I ramped slowly up to the 1mg dose (6 weeks @ .25, 4 weeks @ .5, and then up to 1mg), which I think helped with minimizing extreme side effects. I did have nausea and occasional upset stomach the day after injecting, but it would usually subside within a day. The worst side effect I've had is an increase in acid reflux, but I've been able to manage that with omeprazole pretty well. Worth a shot if you suffer from binge eating disorder or if you are on the verge of being diabetic! Everyone's experience will vary, but I have found success with it so far."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I started Ozempic last Wednesday. Nausea, upset stomach, and profuse vomiting. I’ve already gone to the ER for fluids last Thursday and now back today for more fluids. I know it’s going to improve my A1C, weight, and BP, but I’m not sure if I can go on this sick. I go back for my 1 week tomorrow."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started Ozempic about 3 months ago at .25 mg. My doctor made me start my 1st dose on a Monday in her office because I would tell her I would try and then never do it. Tuesday morning I was good, then by Tuesday night, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, till the wee hours of the morning. The symptoms slowed down throughout the week. Even though I was losing at least 3-4 pounds a week, a total of 35 pounds within a 2 1/2 month period. My A1C did go down, the side effects are deadly. I like the fact that I am losing weight, but I hope I don't have permanent damage from this medication."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Ozempic for 7 weeks now: 4 weeks at 2.5 and half the usual insulin dose, followed by 3 weeks at 5.0 and no insulin, as instructed by my endocrinologist. I experienced leg cramps, stomach cramps, lethargy, and light-headedness among other symptoms in the first 4 weeks. My fasting sugar results increased. During my 3 weeks on the 5.0 dose, I have suffered feelings of nausea, regular bouts of light-headedness, and my fasting sugar levels are now up to the 14-17 range. My energy levels are decreasing. I am taking myself off this medication over the next 3 weeks. An interesting experiment to undergo but not worthwhile continuing as there are no benefits (except weight loss - and I can't afford to lose too much more weight) but light-headedness, lethargy, feeling like vomiting regularly, increased cramps, and, worst of all, my blood sugar levels going through the ceiling. Concentration levels are also a concern."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I've been taking Ozempic for six weeks. I'm experiencing a lot of the same side effects as everyone else. No nausea, but definitely the cramping, bloating, sore stomach, and constipation. Had to do two fleet routines already. Weight loss has been fantastic, but I'm beginning to worry now. Twenty pounds so far and still dropping. .25 mg dose. Sugar numbers have been great. Don't think it's worth all the side effects. Going back to Farxiga. Much more predictable."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been taking Ozempic for about two years. I started at .5 and now at 1. The pros have been much lower A1c. I was at a 9.4, now it’s 6.2. I’ve also lost about 20 pounds… very much suppresses your appetite. I went from 175 to 155. I’m 5’8. So in that respect, it’s been great. However, I have had terrible nausea, especially the first 72 hours after taking it. Some stomach issues, especially that gagging feeling. I remain on it because of the A1c and weight loss, but I gotta tell you guys it’s been really rough. My husband is on a .5 dose, and he doesn’t seem to be having these issues."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started Rybelsus with the 3 mg that the doctor gave me. Nausea started right away, but I could deal with it for the most part. When it was time to go to the 7 mg, I got scared of the thyroid cancer warnings and didn't continue with the drug. But my numbers started climbing after that again. So, a couple of months later, I started with the 7 mg that I had. I used it for a month, and the diarrhea, gas, and gurgling stomach increased each day. The diarrhea would wake me up in the middle of the night! I was having 5 to 6 bowel movements a day, I was afraid to leave the house. So, I saw the doctor and am going back to Trulicity, which I had fewer side effects with. I really wanted this medication to work for me as I need to lose a lot of weight. But the side effects are not worth it for me."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I took Ozempic last October, but I had to come off it - I was so ill. I'm type 2 diabetic and Hashimoto's thyroiditis autoimmune disease. I'm 57 years old and post-menopause. The doctor decided I should try again, I started 5 weeks ago and had my 5th injection. I have been sick since I restarted. I have nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, brain fog, anxiety, burning in my stomach, headaches, and I'm so tired and weak. I tried to stick with it, I'm on the 3rd day since my 5th injection. I am so ill, I still have all the above symptoms, but worse. My kidneys are sore and my lungs. I have pain in my stomach and back. I feel like my body is poisoned, and I have to wait for 5 weeks for it to clear out of my system. I will never take this again."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "OMG ... it’s not me. Dr. started me at .5 of Ozempic, first day after injection pretty much okay, then came nausea, stomach ache, headaches, then just dulled, gassy (didn’t know the burps were part of it but that increased), diarrhea, feeling beyond blah. I went to work and struggled through the day for 4 days like this. The first week wasn’t sure if it was the shot or some food, so I tried the Ozempic again. The second week was a little better, so I decided I’ll try the smaller dose. Today is day 2, but this morn, there’s the nausea, stomach ache, a little bit of headache, but lesser amounts. Despite the thought of weight loss, might be heading back to Januvia (Farxiga got the yeast infection, but it was cheap, $15 for 90 with insurance)."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I was prescribed Ozempic for Type 2 diabetes to help lower my blood sugar and to help with weight loss. The first week wasn't so bad, just a little fatigued and some upset stomach problems. The second week it kicked in overtime and hit me like a brick wall. I had no energy at all. Stayed in bed because it's all I could do. My stomach was so upset and nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea were so bad, it ran like water. I became more dehydrated with less energy. I have 4 autoimmune diseases and this was the sickest I have ever felt in my life. I almost went to the ER and if not for Covid, I would have. It felt like someone had been feeding me rat poison. It's the worst feeling ever. I truly don't know how this drug was approved by the FDA. I plan to take myself off it. Weight loss and blood sugar need to be done in a healthier manner. Lose weight fast and easy has consequences."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "My first week, I felt tired and had no energy. Mild, intermittent nausea. Guess that's the appetite suppressant part. After the first 3 days, I started getting quite a bit of stomach discomfort and diarrhea. Anything I ate or drank went right through me, as well as gas. Also, an unusual amount of belching. Hope this goes away soon and does not happen after every dose. I teach 4-year-olds, and it greatly affected my ability to do my job. My BS numbers are not much different."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Serious stomach issues, cramping, bloating, severe constipation, nausea, no appetite, rashes, pain in the upper and lower bowel, gas. Loss of too much weight, no taste for food. Have had previous trouble with colitis and diverticulitis but still prescribed this medication. Only have 1 kidney and now afraid it may be damaged. I have been on this drug for approximately 7-9 months. Now worried, but the doctor is not concerned enough to take me off this medication."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started semaglutide in March of 2023. I immediately lost all of my appetite and lost weight. I have tried every diet out there in the past, and none were successful. I am 65 years old and have joint and heart issues, so I felt that the benefits outweighed the negative effects. As of today, I have lost 38 lbs. It has not been easy. I have had nausea, mild vomiting, and stomach discomfort. My appetite has been mostly nonexistent. For most meals, I have only been able to eat 3-4 bites of food without feeling like I am stuffed. All in all, I would still recommend it. I am proud of my weight loss and have recently joined a gym again. I want to work on regaining muscle mass and make sure I don't gain the weight back. My biggest fear is gaining the weight back after all I went through to lose it. There are no real guidelines on how long or at what dose to stay on after losing the desired amount of weight."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I unfortunately had a very severe reaction to Ozempic. I usually do suffer side effects from most medications, but thought I would give it a try. The first two weeks were headache, general stomach ache, and constipation lasting 2 days after each injection. Weeks 3 and 4 got worse. Stronger reactions, lasting longer. Week 5, I started the double dose, and I was pretty ill for 2 days. Week 6 and 7 was rough, but I thought I could ride it out. Week 8 had me in emergency twice for diarrhea, vomiting, headache, and major dehydration. I was unable to eat or drink anything. I had to get rehydrated and be given anti-nausea meds on both occasions. I guess my body slowed the release of food so much I had a massive buildup to the point even a sip of water made me extremely nauseous. Ozempic is not for me."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I am a 54-year-old overweight male who started taking Ozempic 3 months ago to help control my type 2 diabetes and to lower my A1C. For the first 3 weeks, I took a 0.25 dose weekly and felt okay. Some occasional stomach cramps and nausea. For the past 2 months, I have been taking a 0.50 dose, and side effects have gotten worse. Loss of appetite, stomach pains, feeling nauseous, and uncontrollable diarrhea while sleeping. Yes, that's right... I have been pooping the bed. On the plus side, I have lost over 20 lbs, but at quite a disgusting price to pay. Time to either quit taking this or try something else. I now understand the commercials where the people say 'O.' It's because 'O, I pooped my pants again.'"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have lost 25 pounds on my own in the last 3 months and decided to give compounded semaglutide injections by my doctor a try to give me a helping hand. On 5/16/23 at 9 a.m., I had my first injection in my arm, and I instantly got a slight headache. By 2 p.m., I was severely nauseated and had to leave work early. Stayed that way all night, and my mouth was watering so bad I was standing over my sink for hours. My stomach was bloated and stayed that way for the next day. On days 2-4, food smelled so bad it made me nauseated. I didn't eat anything but toast. Nothing carbonated could be tolerated at all, or sweet, or cooked for that matter. But the worst part was the nonstop diarrhea and severe stomach cramps. I won't be taking this again. Ex-Lax is a lot cheaper! I hope this wears off soon. Not for me. Kudos to those who have no side effects or could stick it out. I can see why this has been so effective for weight loss (food looks and smells disgusting), but the sickness is unbearable to continue and I can't miss any more work."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Lots of stomach pain, gas, lots of nausea. This occurs before eating on a lot of occasions. Also, lots of symptoms of GERD after increasing dose from 0.5 to 1 mg. Ozempic does work for my diabetes, but the cost is high. I was given this as a cardiac-friendly medicine, but the GERD and excessive bathroom and stomach issues get the heart worked up."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "This drug has definitely helped with decreasing my appetite and decreasing sugar cravings. I've been on semaglutide for 6 weeks and have lost 13 lbs so far. As far as side effects go, I've experienced some tiredness, nausea, and some stomach discomfort. Nothing debilitating. I'm going through a weight loss center. I go once a week for counseling and injections. I started out at 0.25 injection the first 30 days and am now up to 0.5 injections once a week."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was originally prescribed Ozempic in the needle form about 4 years ago. This was an experience I will never forget. Although I dropped weight, the nausea was just too much to bear. I was sick every single day for months on end, it just wouldn't give up, so I was taken off it. Fast forward a few years, and all the weight is back. Last week, after an appointment with my doctor, I was asked to try a tablet form, which they said has less severe side effects. Now, 6 days in, and I'm over the moon, I've lost 8 lbs already. My appetite has been curbed to 3 very small meals a day, but I feel full to my stomach. Now, here's where I have to be 100% honest: this medication is not for the light-hearted. The nausea, headaches, and bad stomach are very, very real. The difference between this and the needle is I'm not physically sick but just feel it all day, every day!!! This is only the 3 mg dose, I will be put up to 6 mg next week and 14 mg in 3 weeks' time. I will post my progress. Good luck, everyone."
