Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "After 4-6 weeks, I still suffer various levels of intensities of nausea, but short-lived diarrhea, plenty of burping, and fatigue that is often overwhelming. Some days, no problems. I manage the symptoms by enduring until they ease up, or I may choose to seek fast relief using what's available. Its benefits are now close to 'tight control' and significant weight loss (overcoming the stagnant plateau of a period of weight loss)."

Semaglutide "I am 51 years old. I have been taking Ozempic to reduce appetite and lose weight for two years. Doses 0.5 mg once weekly subcutaneously. Taking Ozempic is accompanied by nausea and sour belching. There was pain in the right side. I was examined and there is inflammation of the duodenum and a stone in the gall bladder. I like that Ozempic helps fight excess weight, but now I have very strong discomfort."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking semaglutide for 13 months now. I started very slowly and didn't notice much for the first few months. At the 1 mg dose, I started to lose 1.5 to 2 lbs every couple of weeks. At about 6 months, the weight started to really come off. I started at 230 lbs (5'8", 50-year-old female) with high blood pressure and now am stable at 170, normal BP. I have had some side effects: burping, nausea, sleeplessness, and 6 months after losing 45 lbs, my hair did start to fall out. Now, at 13 months, hair loss has stopped, and it's starting to grow back. After 12 months, my insurance stopped covering it. Within two weeks of stopping it, I started to feel the familiar obsession with eating coming back. I had to start over with Ozempic, which my insurance covers. I don't love that I will need to take this forever, but I also appreciate that it has totally changed my life. I am getting a lot of exercises; I still love food - but not obsessively. My brain can focus on other things now! It's a lifesaver for me."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "7/2/22 I have been on Ozempic for almost a week. My 2nd injection is this Friday. I will give my experience for the first week...and update in 3 months. My insurance covers this, and I only pay $24 for a 6-week dose. I have been on probiotics and magnesium for many years. I will keep using them through my Ozempic journey. I injected this at the starting dose of 0.25 in my thigh. The only side effects I have had are burping. No nausea and no other GI issues. I eat because I love the taste of some food. I just simply love the taste, and if it is really good, it is hard for me to stop. Not because I am hungry, but because it tastes so good. I snack when I am bored or at my desk while I work. I have found that, so far, Ozempic does not take my desire away for good-tasting foods, but I do get full very quickly, and I stop. Because of the lack of side effects and low cost, I will keep taking it and will update in 3 months!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Ozempic for 6 months now. My weight has dropped from 134 kg to 102 kg, a loss of 32 kilograms. I was unwell for the first 2 months, but things settled after that. However, during the past month, I have started getting really bad nausea with some vomiting, diarrhea, and burping (sulfur taste). The doctor has dropped me back down to 0.5 mg dose to see if it improves. I do not take any other medication. HbA1 has gone from 7.1 down to 5.7. Blood glucose is in the 4.9 to 5.8 range. I must stress that for this to work, you have to watch what you are eating and do regular exercise."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve experienced a lot of nausea. No GI pain, no diarrhea. Lots of belching. I have lost 3 lbs the first week, although I’m only 8 lbs over my ideal body weight. My appetite is small, so I try to eat healthy foods. My average glucose (Dexcom 7) has gone from 174 to 157 in just one week."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "No side effects other than loss of appetite and feeling full faster and eating less on lower doses. Good BGL around 100. Once I started 1 mg, I got indigestion, nausea, gas, burping, loose stools, and watery stools. Blamed it on PPI meds for GERD symptoms but continues after I stopped PPI meds. I'm guessing the loose watery stools is the Ozempic at this point. I'm supposed to go to 2 mg weekly but I may not be able to handle it at that dose."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Been on Ozempic for 2 years. Now I experience stomach problems and gastro problems. Stomach pain, nausea, acid and bile issues. Diarrhea, gas, burping all the time. I think it's taking a toll on my body. It sucks. There are times I can't even function. I'm lost now. Sick of being sick."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have had all of the less common side effects, primarily belching, excess gas, swollen stomach, headache, and nausea. I’m not sure yet if eating certain foods causes it. I ate Indian food, and it was awful for two days. But I feel okay generally, and it seems to be working, so I’m happy about that."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "This drug is helpful in maintaining a good blood glucose level. It has helped in lowering my overall weight, which was not working before by diet. At this time, I am on a 1 mg injection, but I feel I am having reactions of nausea, dizziness, bloating, burping, some abdominal pain, and constipation."

Semaglutide "2.7 weekly for maintenance of 50 lb weight loss after using Ozempic for 2 years. Does not work as well as Ozempic, higher dose required, causes burping and have had bouts of diarrhea if I eat rich, high-carb food like ice cream or pastry. I had nausea when I started it, but that went away after the second week. Does not curb cravings as well as Ozempic. I take the shot on Sundays, and by Friday, I am noticing that I am starting to have more hunger or craving. However, this drug does work, and I am able to maintain my weight loss. Dosing is easy, but I do not like the injectors, they are hard for me to use since I am now pretty thin. I will probably switch injection to the leg instead of the stomach."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I am 20 years old and was diagnosed at age 17 with type 2 diabetes. My A1C started off not bad, I was pre-diabetic for a year and then progressed to diabetes. I’ve been on metformin for 4 years and am currently on 2500 mg. I got my A1C blood test back and it was high, so my doctor recommended Ozempic. I’ve been on it for 5 weeks and it was horrible. I was vomiting nearly every day, had terrible cramps, especially at night, so painful I couldn’t sleep, horrible, disgusting-smelling burps like eggs, and the nausea was horrendous. I haven’t had much of an appetite, sometimes the thought of food makes me feel sick. I’ve lost 6 kg in this time, but I’m not entirely sure it’s worth it. I’m currently on 0.25 mg at the moment and due for an increase to 0.50 mg. I’m not sure if I will stay on it. It’s incredibly hard to find supply as everyone wants it, and it kind of makes me mad that people are taking it off-label when there are genuine people with type 2 who need it."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started on 0.25 for four weeks, had nausea, dizziness, burping nonstop every day, off-the-wall gas, and bloating. Went on 0.5, more or less the same side effects except more abdominal pain. Then went to 1 mg, my skin started feeling like I had a bad sunburn from the waist up. It hurt when clothes touched it. Four weeks later, went on 2 mg. All same symptoms. Then I started having severe neck pain and shoulder pain. Was on 8 months and only lost 16 pounds. A1c went from 7.5 to 5.5, but a lot had to do with eating less. I have EPI, so it was not worth it to me to take it anymore. Also, thyroid cancer runs in my family. Had a friend tell me her friend got thyroid cancer after 3 months, also had a lot of diarrhea. Now I'm off, no symptoms, skin feels better, and sugar around 130."
